New Hampshire Tax Protesters in Stand-off with Federal Marshals Part 5

June 18, 2007

Ed and Elaine Brown say they will not back down, if they come to get us we will die. That is what Ed Brown said in a news conference that they held outside their home today. Federal marshals still say they have no plans to attack.

Randy Weaver has now joined the Brown’s in their fight. You may remember him from the Ruby Ridge stand-off, when his wife, child, and dog were killed after being entrapped by federal agents during the CLINTON ( a Democrat, who cares so much for the people) administration.

From the New Hampshire Union Leader:

A couple convicted of tax evasion and sentenced to jail say there’s no possibility that they will surrender to authorities.

Ed and Elaine Brown have been holed up in their home since they were each sentenced to more than five years in prison in April on federal tax evasion charges. They held a news conference outside their home today.

Elaine Brown says if authorities move in, “We’re dead. That’s it.” The Browns say they’ve committed no crime.

The Browns were joined by Ruby Ridge survivor Randy Weaver, whose wife and son were killed along with a deputy U.S. marshal in the Idaho standoff in 1992. Weaver said that he was concerned that a similar event could occur in Plainfield.

U.S. Marshal Stephen Monier has stated that there are no plans to storm the property or attempt to take the Browns by force. He said that they are trying to encourage them to surrender, and officials last week cut power, phone and Internet service to the property.

Rep. Paul Hodes (D-NH) Violates House Ethics Rule

June 18, 2007

First my congressman, Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, 1st district Democrat  violated house ethics rules. Now New Hampshire’s second district Rep. has also violated a house ethics rule. You can read about it here.

Both of our representitives here in New Hampshire haven’t exactly covered themselves in glory. They are both an emarrassment to our state, and need to be voted out next year.

I hope New Hampshire voters are ashamed of themselves for sending these two incompetent people to Washington to represent us.

Sen. Jim Webb(D-VA) Finally Admits he owned the gun his Aide Carried into the Capitol Building

June 18, 2007

Back in March Sen. Jim Webb’s aide was arrested for carrying a weapon into the capitol building. Of course the senator denied giving his weapon to the aide. He also wouldn’t say whether the gun was his. Now he has admitted the gun was his.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Sen. Jim Webb finally admitted he owns a gun that an aide was arrested for carrying into the U.S. Capitol complex in March.

Webb previously had refused to say whether the gun was his, although his senior aide – Phillip Thompson – had told police the weapon belonged to the Democratic senator.

“It’s my gun,” Webb told the Richmond Times-Dispatch in a recent interview. But how and why it was in Thompson’s possession remains unclear. Webb said he didn’t give the gun to Thompson, “nor did I ask him to do anything with it.”

Thompson was arrested on an illegal handgun charge when he carried the loaded pistol and two loaded magazines in a briefcase into the Russell Senate office building. A federal prosecutor later dropped the charge.

Webb said little about the incident in March, saying he did not want to prejudice the outcome of Thompson’s case.

“It was a matter under legal consideration, and I was precluded from saying anything,” Webb told the Richmond newspaper.

Webb declined to say whether he complies with the District of Columbia’s law that prohibits carrying a handgun or concealed weapon without a license.

There are still many unanswered questions here. This whole thing sounds suspicious to me. Of course we will never know the answers to the questions as he is a Democrat and can do no wrong. At least intentionally. It’s always a misunderstanding when dealing with Democrats, with Republicans it’s always a crime. Force resignation first, ask questions later. Let’s not forget that Jim Webb had an altercation with president Bush after last year’s election when the president asked Webb how his son (who is serving in Iraq) was.

Global Warming Stopped in 1998

June 18, 2007

global-warming.jpgAt least it did if you thought global warming was happening in the first place.

The salient facts are these. First, the accepted global average temperature statistics used by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change show that no ground-based warming has occurred since 1998. Oddly, this eight-year-long temperature stasis has occurred despite an increase over the same period of 15 parts per million (or 4 per cent) in atmospheric CO2. Read more…

Global Warming is being Blamed for the Genocide in Darfur

June 18, 2007

From breitbart.com:

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that the slaughter in Darfur was triggered by global climate change and that more such conflicts may be on the horizon, in an article published Saturday. “The Darfur conflict began as an ecological crisis, arising at least in part from climate change,” Ban said in a Washington Post opinion column.UN statistics showed that rainfall declined some 40 percent over the past two decades, he said, as a rise in Indian Ocean temperatures disrupted monsoons.

“This suggests that the drying of sub-Saharan Africa derives, to some degree, from man-made global warming,” the South Korean diplomat wrote.

“It is no accident that the violence in Darfur erupted during the drought,” Ban said in the Washington daily.

When Darfur’s land was rich, he said, black farmers welcomed Arab herders and shared their water, he said.

With the drought, however, farmers fenced in their land to prevent overgrazing.

“For the first time in memory, there was no longer enough food and water for all. Fighting broke out,” he said.

A UN peacekeeping force may stop the fighting, he said, and more than two million people may return to rebuilt homes in safe villages.

“But what to do about the essential dilemma: the fact that there’s no longer enough good land to go around?”

“Any real solution to Darfur’s troubles involves sustained economic development,” perhaps using new technologies, genetically modified grains or irrigation, while bettering health, education and sanitation, he said.

Sudan is not the only country with such problems, Ban said, and pointed to Somalia, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso as African countries with “food and water insecurity.”

Khartoum agreed this week to accept 23,000 UN and African Union peacekeepers after four years of fighting, which has killed at least 200,000 people.

Every time I think I’ve heard it all on global warming, something else even more ridiculous comes along. Now this time I know I’ve heard it all. Because the so-called average earth temperature has risen less than a degree, genocide has been taken place in Darfur. Even if there was such a thing as an average earth temperature, which there isn’t, this argument is ludicrous. It’s time to blame the PEOPLE responsible for the genocide, and stop making excuses for them. When we can make excuses for genocide we have truly become a blameless society. Oh, wait a minute, I forgot, PEOPLE are responsible for global warming, maybe he has a point after all.

Now I know I’ve heard it all. But of course everything that goes wrong in the world is George W Bush’s fault. And we have heard that his environmental policies are destroying the earth. We even had some people say his environmental policies were the reason for hurricane Katrina, so it’s only a matter of time before Bush’s policies are blamed for the genocide in Darfur. Then I know I will have heard it all.

Republicans win House Battle over Earmarks

June 18, 2007

During the last election Democrats promised to reign in out of control earmark spending. However, when they came into power they decided to hide earmark spending in bills until it was too late to vote the spending out of the bills. Last week in an effort by the Republicans to stop this practice, the senate was ground down into a standstill. This appears to have worked as an agreement has been reached to make earmarks more transparent. The Newest Enemy of the Left

June 17, 2007

Before we get in to the newest enemy of the left, let’s look at some of the previous enemies of the left.

First let’s start with the bill of rights, the malignant attacks on our constitution:

The left has gone after free speech: Political correctness is nothing but an attack on free speech. You mustn’t say anything that can be construed as offensive to anybody. It doesn’t matter if it’s true if it’s offensive. Stores won’t even say Merry Christmas to you when you enter or leave them.

The left has gone after freedom of religion: The constitution says in part, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. The second part of that is the part under attack by the left. Congress shall NOT PROHIBIT the free exercise of religion. We are being denied exercise of religion when crosses and manger scenes are not allowed in public.

The left has gone after the right to bear arms: gun control, enough said.

The left is going to go after the freedom of the press: The fairness in radio doctrine. This is the left going after conservative talk radio, which I guess is also another attack on the freedom of speech.

Now a list of other enemies of the left, more benign than the attacks on the constitution, but enemies nonetheless:

First and foremost George W Bush

Walmart

Smokers

Mandatory seatbelts

Big Oil

Trans Fats

Record Companies ( Tipper Gore and the PMRC)

Meat Eaters

Unborn Babies

And on and on it goes. And so now without further adieu here is the latest enemy of the left….. Read more…

New Hampshire Court to Decide if the Death Penalty is Unconstitutional

June 16, 2007

Michael K. “Stix” Addison shot and killed  New Hampshire officer Michael Briggs at point blank range. There is no grey area here, he is guilty. Officer Briggs was pursuing him following a shot fired complaint during a domestic dispute. When officer Briggs caught him he was shot in the head and died the next day. Now Addison’s attorney is arguing that the death penalty is unconstitutional. Read more…

Harry Reid is Incompetent, not General Peter Pace

June 16, 2007

Just 19 percent of voters nationwide had a favorable opinion of Mr. Reid in a Rasmussen Reports survey conducted last weekend — down from 26 percent a month ago and still lower than Mr. Bush’s 35 percent favorable rating.

This is the man that is supposed to lead the senate, and what a fine job he has done. Since he took over as senate majority the senate has passed numerous domestic bills, stopped earmarks, and ended the war. At least that is what they promised to do. It is so easy to make promises when you are the minority, but when you have a majority and it’s time to legislate, it’s not always so easy. Read more…

Planned Parenthood Records Record Federal Tax Revenue

June 15, 2007

During its 2005-2006 fiscal year, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America performed a record 264,943 abortions, attained a record profit of $55.8 million and received record taxpayer funding of $305.3 million.

Isn’t it nice to know how your tax dollars are being spent? Doesn’t feel good to know you helped 264,943 people with their little problem? Whether you are pro-life or pro-death, eerr I mean choice, I don’t see any reason the government(You and I) should be paying for this. Doesn’t it also feel good to know we have contributed to a new record?

The bottom line here is, if you are pro-choice and you want to donate to an organisation like Planned Parenthood, go ahead, don’t use my tax dollars for it.

For the year July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006, Planned Parenthood received $345.1 million in clinic income, $305.3 million in taxpayer funding and $212.2 million in donations. Total income reached $902.8 million while total expenses came to $847.0 million, leaving a profit of $55.8 million.

Almost a billion dollars in total revenue, that is remarkable, and scary at the same time.

“During a year of great change and growth, and in a political climate of increasing assaults on sexual and reproductive rights and health, Planned Parenthood continued to make enormous strides toward protecting and strengthening the reproductive health and rights of women and men worldwide,” the statement adds.

The reproductive rights of men? What rights are those? Careless, unprotected sex without fear of reprocussions? With no consecquences, other than to those of the unborn child of course.

“The final category of Planned Parenthood revenue sources is you and me – the American taxpayer,” Sedlak said. He noted that the amount of taxpayer funding reported by PPFA exceeded that of the previous year by $32.6 million, or 12 percent.

“The bottom line is that Planned Parenthood is losing donations, its clinic income is down, and you and I are being forced to pay more
