Do we need Population Control to stop Global Warming
Thats what this article is saying. They are saying this is the most crucial step in stopping global warming:
“Human population growth is the paramount environmental issue,” Ric Oberlink, a spokesman for Californians for Population Stabilization, told Cybercast News Service. “Global warming is a very serious problem, but it is a subset of the overpopulation problem,” he said.
So on top of all the other things that we do wrong to destroy the earth, like drive to work, then work in factories, grill, mow the lawn, use light-bulbs, herd cattle that fart, the basic human instinct of reproducing is now at the center of destroying the planet.
“Many have noted the disproportionate impact of America on greenhouse emissions and rightly called for reduced emissions. But it’s hypocritical to say that the problem is that Americans consume too much and then say it doesn’t matter how many Americans there are.”
It’s America’s fault. It’s always blame America first. How can we cut down on the number of babies being born, hmmm? I sense something else at play here.
“Those who surrender reason to religious and political doctrine and push the rubble of their misguided convictions into the path of prudent population reduction policies are complicit in condemning an entire planet to doom,” said Alcorn.
We’re getting closer.
“In part, this solution calls for population control, which is code for abortions, condom distribution and mass sterilization,” said the FRC.(Family Research Council)
Tina Richards is Nancy Pelosi’s Cindy Sheehan
Does Nancy Pelosi have her version of Cindy Sheehan?
That is the question posed in the above linked article.
From the article:
It was in the summer of 2005 that the Bush Administration began to lose the support of the American public for the war in Iraq. A principal catalyst of this momentous transformation was the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq. Casey Sheehan’s mother Cindy Sheehan famously camped outside the President’s ranch in Texas and demanded a meeting with him.
I disagree with this paragraph, I don’t believe this is what caused the American people to turn against the war. I believe we live in a soundbite world, people are only interested in instant gratification nowadays. As the war drags on people lose interest, they grow tired of it and then oppose it, people are ready to move on. Job complete or not. The constant barrage of negative stories on the news with no mention of any of the good being performed also turns people. We only hear stories about our soldiers when they commit a suspected crime. We never hear stories like this one on the news.
Also from the article:
Seeking access to Pelosi as Sheehan once did with Bush, Mother Tina Richards, whose Marine son survived two tours in Iraq, was recently arrestedfor camping outside the Speaker’s door. According to Richards, she has tried to meet with the Speaker since last year, to no avail. It seems that the Speaker, who made political hay by playing up the Bush-Sheehan controversy, now has her own Sheehan to deal with.
The article doesn’t mention that she previously had an altercation with Congressman Obey in which she was removed from his office.
The media is ignoring this story. Why is that when Cindy Sheehan protested the president we were subjected to it everyday on the news, and with this woman we don’t hear about it?
Democrats coming to a crossroad in the Iraq war Funding Bill
The Democrats are going to have to make a decision soon when the president vetoes the funding bill. Democrats are still split on what to do next.
From the article:
“My feeling is at a certain point we’re going to have a ‘come-to-Jesus’ moment in the caucus and talk about whether you fund (the war) or not,” said Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Wash.
Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., told reporters Monday that should Bush veto the bill as expected, Democrats would likely opt to replace the withdrawal language with a “softer version” that ties U.S. aid to political progress made by the Iraqi government.
Reid also repeated assertions that Congress was committed to funding the troops, despite the leader’s support for separate legislation that would cut off money for combat missions after March 2008.
Reid said his promise to fund the troops is not at odds with the proposal because the measure would fund troops to stay in Iraq so long as they were engaged in non-combat missions. Those include counterterrorism and training of Iraq security forces.
Some Democrats are very leary about cutting off funding, while others are for cutting funding. Many Democrats only voted for the last funding bill because of the domestic pork that was included in it. If this pork is cut out the battle will only intensify, and it will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
New Hampshire Soldier in Iraq Shares his Ongoing Story
Here is an article that appeared in the New Hampshire Union Leader.
It is about a local man, LT. Col. Jonathan Sistare, who shares his story as he is on a mission to clear Sadr City. He talks about some of the small, kind things they are doing over there as they carry on their mission.
I wish we would see more stories like this in the mainstream media as I know we are performing many courageous and righteous acts over there. I know war is ugly, but sometimes it’s necessary, and here is one example of some good that is coming out of it.

ABC Grades the Democrat’s First 100 days as a Failure
You can read about it here.
The Democrats made much adeau about their first 100 hours in congress when they were going to pass an aggressive domestic agenda. Which they did. The problem is none of this legislation has gone anywhere. None of it has even made it to the presidents desk.
So now the first 100 days are up and it’s time for a grade, only one network even managed to mention it. ABC gave the Democrats an F. You have to give them credit for that, no other network decided to cover it.
What good does it do to pass legislation that looks good and caring if it just sits in limbo? The only good is that the Democrats think it makes them look good, like they care about us. If they truly cared wouldn’t they at least get this agenda pushed to the president’s desk for a vote?
Fred Thompson Writes about the Bush tax cuts
You can read what Fred Thompson says about the Bush tax cuts, and his view on taxes here.
Some highlights:
Perhaps the most fascinating thing about this success story is where the increased revenues are coming from. Critics claimed that across-the-board tax cuts were some sort of gift to the rich but, on the contrary, the wealthy are paying a greater percentage of the national bill than ever before.
The richest 1% of Americans now pays 35% of all income taxes. The top 10% pay more taxes than the bottom 60%.
That doesn’t sound like anything I have ever heard in the mainstream medis before. It doesn’t fit their agenda.
Now, as before, politicians are itching to fund their pet projects with the short-term revenue increases that come from tax hikes, ignoring the long-term pain they always cause. Unfortunately, the tax cuts that have produced our record-breaking government revenues and personal incomes will expire soon. Because Congress has failed to make them permanent, we are facing the worst tax hike in our history.
Putting pork in order to get re-elected ahead of the long term good of the national economy, sounds like a sound plan doesn’t it?
To face these challenges, and any others that we might encounter in a hazardous world, we need to maintain economic growth and healthy tax revenues. That is why we need to reject taxes that punish rather than reward success. Those who say they want a “more progressive” tax system should be asked one question:
Are you really interested in tax rates that benefit the economy and raise revenue–or are you interested in redistributing income for political reasons?
I love that last question, redistributing income, taking from the working class to give to the people who don’t want to work. Sounds like socialism, doesn’t it? That’s because in their hearts Democrats are socialists.

Britain to stop Using the term ‘War On Terror’
First the Democrats on the U.S. House Armed Services Committee banned the term global war on terror.
Then we get word that the European Union wants to ban the terms ‘Jihad, Islamic terrorists’ and others so the terrorists won’t be mad at us any more.
Now we get this, Britain will stop using the term ‘war on terror’ also.
From the article:
According to his prepared remarks, international development secretary Hilary Benn will say that the “war on terror” concept has emboldened terrorists, by making them feel as though they are part of something bigger than they are, British media organizations report.
Why do people think you can coddle these people and make them like us? You can’t, the terrorists are being taught in schools to hate, calling them terrorists who abusively invoke Islam, like the EU want’s to do will only show them we are afraid of them. This is what really emboldens them.

War Protester Arrested Outside of Nancy Pelosi’s Office
You can read about it here.
It appears as though some war protesters are growing more and more impatient with the Democrat’s lack of swift action to end the war. This woman is the same woman who was thrown out of Rep. David Obey, D-Wis. office earlier this year. This was the confrontation which led Rep. Obey to call his constituents “idiot liberals” and was caught on videotape.

Thinking Blogger Award
![]()
Well, I was given a Thinking Bloggers Award, having been recognized by A Voice Of Reason. It is extremely rewarding to be thought of this way. I started this blog as a kind of therapy, to voice my opinion and concerns, and it feels good to know I have connected with people.
A Voice Of Reason is one of the blogs that I would have nominated had I received the award first and I highly recommend his blog as a must read.
So now it’s my turn to nominate five blogs, here goes:
A hard hitting conservative blog. Very opinionated as the title suggests.
Two men fighting the main stream media to hold on to the country they love.
The name says it all.
A New Hamphire (my great state) based political blog. With local issues sprinkled in.
A political blog about national politics, and politics local to New England
As you can see my choices have a basic theme to them, it’s the theme that led me into the blogosphere and the theme that will keep me here.
How Congress spent their Easter Vacation- On our Dime
As you can read here, congress was very willing to spend taxpayer money to fly around the world while on break, and while our troops wait for funding. Part of their campaign last November included accusing Republican of taking these same type of trips.
For these trips to qualify for military planes the trips are supposed to be related to members official duties and contain members of both parties, but Nancy Pelosi waived this rule for three delegations.
She said:
“There was a good faith effort made to include Republican members,” a Pelosi spokesman said. “For one reason or another, that did not work.”
Riiiiigghht
From the article:
Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi took his wife, nine Democrats and two Republicans – Reps. Dan Lungren of California and Mike Rogers of Alabama – on a whirlwind tour of the Caribbean last week. After stops in Honduras and Mexico, they stopped in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where the delegation stayed at the five-star Caneel Bay resort.
This is how the trip was justified:
Thompson’s office said he toured the Caribbean because he now chairs the Homeland Security Committee and wanted to see vacation hot spots to “examine border security and port security.”
National security? I guess I have been giving Nancy Pelosi too much grief in my previous posts, at least she went to the middle east, where there happens to be a war going on.
Also from the article:
Rep. Jim Oberstar, D-Minn., also led a trip to Belgium over the two-week Easter recess. In February, Sen. Bob Bennett, R-Utah, took a delegation there.
“We’re at war with Iraq and Afghanistan, but apparently our members see Belgium as our most urgent international destination,” scoffed one Republican member of Congress.
That is how they spent their Easter vacation, it must be nice. We’ll be getting the bill.
