The “Justice” Department orders the ATF to track American citizens who purchase multiple weapons
Shortly after Janet Napolitano assumed control of the Department of Homeland Security the department issued the infamous “right wing extremist” warning which identified certain groups which the government thought posed the threat of violence. Listed among these “threats” were veterans returning from war, as well as people who are anti-abortion and people who were pro-second amendment. The American people were warned to be on the lookout for people who might have pro second amendment bumper stickers on their vehicles.
Shortly thereafter came a report that the violence occurring in Mexico and in the United States along the Mexican border was due to the fact that weapons sold in the United States were traced back to–and responsible for–the violence in Mexico and along the border. It was clear at this time what the federal government was up to; they were preparing to use this “crisis” to implement gun control laws on the American people. Hillary Clinton confirmed this when she made the statement that America’s “insatiable demand for drugs” and inability to stop the smuggling of guns over the Mexican border were directly responsible for the violence. With this statement the die was cast.
But there is only one problem with the assertion that American guns were smuggled across the border and were being used to commit the violence the government appeared ready to crack down on, it was all based on a lie which I wrote about in this post over two years ago. With this lie exposed it was time for the government to look into another avenue for implementing the gun control laws it so desperately desired, so it was time to manufacture a “crisis” in order to win support for a second amendment infringing agenda; enter Operation Gunrunner. If American guns weren’t being smuggled into Mexico at the rate the government was claiming, maybe it was time for the government to help this “crisis” along a little bit.
It has been my contention–and I am not alone–that Operation Gunrunner was an effort by the federal government to create a “crisis” which could then be taken advantage of in order to enact more strict gun control regulations on law abiding United States citizens. The federal government tried to claim that there was a problem with illegal guns making their way into Mexico from the United States the government hoped they could sway public sentiment toward gun control, but this turned out to be a lie so the federal government tried to sell the guns to Mexican criminal in order to help create a problem they already had a solution to, but the federal government got caught.
This is exploding into a major scandal and Darrell Issa is showing no signs of letting this story disappear until all stones have been overturned. In the end Hillary Clinton was right, guns were being smuggled from the United States into Mexico but it was the federal government which was allowing this to happen all along.
Most rational people would agree that with this news the federal government has lost all credibility on this issue and would decide it best not to pursue gun control laws based on the fact that is was the government’s doing all along, but sadly that is not the case as the ATF is moving forward with its anti second amendment agenda using the Mexican drug violence as an excuse even after it has been learned that the United States government is an accessory to these crimes.
In an effort to stem the illicit flow of weapons into Mexico, the Justice Department announced Monday that all gun shops in four Southwest border states will be required to alert the federal government to frequent buyers of high-powered rifles.
What constitutes a “high powered” rifle?
Under the new policy, federal firearms licensees in Texas, California, Arizona and New Mexico must report purchases of two or more of some types of rifles by the same person in a five-day span. The requirement applies to purchases of semi-automatic rifles that have detachable magazines and a caliber of greater than .22
Any semi-automatic weapon with a detachable clip; pretty much everything that is not a target pistol.
The ATF is now ordering gun shops along the Mexican border to report the purchase of two or more weapons made by law abiding citizens so that the ATF can track these weapons. Many of these same gun shops were ordered by the ATF–against the will of the gun shops–to sell these weapons to known criminals and the ATF never bothered to track these weapons once they left the country.
According to the ATF it is okay for Mexican criminals to purchase these weapons but it is not okay for United States citizens with no criminal record to purchase these weapons; drug lords are not tracked, the American people are tracked.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith sees the hypocrisy here as well:
One of the critics of Operation Fast and Furious called the new policy “the height of hypocrisy.” The Obama administration is restricting the gun rights of border state citizens, “when the administration knowingly and intentionally allowed guns to be trafficked into Mexico,”
How can the Obama regime still be pushing this gun control agenda based on Mexican drug violence when the Obama regime is partially responsible for the violence? The answer is obvious; the media is simply not covering the story and I would venture to guess that a majority of Americans have never heard of Operation Gunrunner or Operation Fast and Furious.
When I first read the story this morning about the regime moving forward on gun control despite its duplicity in the violence I was astounded at the audacity of the Obama regime, but that feeling has been abated by the realization that there is no reason for the Obama regime not to move forward because of the mainstream media’s journalistic malpractice regarding this issue.
But this is a double flanking maneuver; while the ATF moves forward on this issue, the Obama regime is also readying new “gun safety” laws, and while the American people as a whole might not have heard of this scandal, the United States Congress has certainly heard of it, and with the news of Operation Gunrunner–and now Operation Castaway–exposed there is no way that the Congress will go along with any gun control measures, so what is a dictator president to do to implement new laws which cannot pass the Congress? Simple, use an Executive Order to pass his agenda.
The end justifies the means; and if that means selling weapons to Mexican and Honduran criminals coupled with an Executive Order to clamp down on law abiding citizens so be it, for an unarmed people is a defenseless people. And a defenseless people is what the Obama regime wants because as Thomas Jefferson once stated, “when the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”
The Obama regime is actively engaged in fear-mongering in order to push this agenda and the media is duplicitous in this by their failure to report on the Gunrunner scandal. The Obama regime controls the media and because of this the Obama regime controls the message, so while the government is covering up their involvement in this “crisis” they have a propaganda arm which all too willingly goes along and denies a majority of Americans the knowledge of the Obama regime’s corruption.
Under these circumstances why wouldn’t he move forward? It is up to Darrell Issa to remain vigilant, and it is up to those of us who follow these issues closely to remain vigilant as well for it is our duty to do so:
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty–Wendell Phillips
So the ATF will profile our own citizens, many who served Our Country, putting their asses on the line for that POS in the White House, BUT TSA is NOT allowed to profile people who are actively engaged in our destruction and downfall? This overwhelms me to the point that I am utterly speechless. I gotta revisit this thread tomorrow. I gotta intake MANY more beers. Good Night All.

I think you summed it up about right. It really is unbelievable, isn’t it? I think I will have another beer as well.

These assh*les are simply trying to *duck and cover*, Fast and Furious is about to tear someone a new a$$ and Obama’s DOJ is looking to deflect ALL idea of them, BATF or anyone else doing something REALLY stupid…

I think you are right; this is an attempt at creating a distraction but it isn’t going to work. Issa is not going to give this up until some big names go down. (And hopefully to prison.)

Par for the course. After all, this is the country where inmates on death row can get organ transplants and little children get publically molested at the airport by federal agents. The country where voter intimidation is permitted as long as you are of the correct race. The country where enemy combatants have more rights than our own military personnel. And on it goes…

I wish I could dispute anything you just wrote but unfortunately I cannot.

I think they should track Holder and Obama considering how many illegal gun sales they helped make happen!

Hopefully someday we will be tracking Holder…..with an ankle bracelet!

It’s up to us to keep this story alive. Sooner or later the lame stream media will have to pick it up. In the meantime the longer Obama stalls on the facts the more likely it will blow up in his face 2012.

Good point, hopefully this will drag out and be a story during the election.

You just may be right, Steve- r.e. Obama attempting orchestrate a “gun crisis”

I simply do not trust anything this man says or does and I honestly believe this was at least part of the reason for Gunrunner.

Great post, Steve. The propaganda media is hiding this story with all they’ve got. The real media (internet) is spreading the word, and so am I and everyone I know. I still believe this is high treason and no “scholar” will convince me otherwise. I’m going to e mail links to this story to my representative and everyone else on my contacts list. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for the kind words! There is no doubt that there was a nefarious purpose for the Gunrunner operation and there is no doubt that the media is committing journalistic malpractice in not reporting this story, it is up to us to spread the word.
