Gunrunner: Chuck Grassley “suspects” gun control was the real reason for Operation Fast and Furious

July 22, 2011

The position that I–and many others–hold for the real reason behind the government’s botched Operation Fast and Furious is this: The United States government was poised to use the violence at the Mexican border as an excuse to implement strict gun control legislation on law abiding American citizens. Hillary Clinton laid the groundwork for this scheme when she declared that America’s “insatiable appetite” for illegal drugs and inability to stop the sale of guns to Mexican criminals was to blame for the violence at the border. The government then released a false report which stated that 90% of ALL weapons recovered at crime scenes in Mexico and along the border were traced back to the United States. With the lie exposed it was time for the federal government to help the false claim along, so they implemented a scheme which would assure that guns sold in America turned up at crime scenes in Mexico, hence Operation Fast and Furious.

The ranking member of the House Oversight Committee also agrees with this synopsis, at least in part: Charles Grassley is now on record as stating that he believes the federal government initiated this deadly program in part because the Obama regime doesn’t  “like the Second Amendment” and wants to “restrict guns.”

My suspicion is they don’t like the Second Amendment the way it is, and they are going to do everything to hurt guns and restrict guns. So they could have been building a case for that. But I can’t prove that

Senator Grassley admits that he cannot prove it, but he feels as if the Obama regime was trying to build a case for restricting gun ownership on law abiding American citizens. With all of the background information that we have on this issue it seems likely to me that that is exactly what the Obama regime intended, and if Senator Grassley is saying this now we can rest assured that he has much more information on this issue than we do.

I believe that Charles Grassley is sitting on information which would implicate the Obama regime and the true intent of Gunrunner and he is simply waiting for the chance to pounce on this. There is no way that he would come forward with this theory based on a whim when he has been charged with investigating the “Justice” Department, there has to be something there and he is waiting until he has all of the facts before he declares that he KNOWS the Obama regime had a more nefarious reason for handing weapons over to known violent Mexican criminals.

Nice post. I especially like and agree with your last paragraph. It’s just like a prosecutor waiting until he has enough evidence for a slam dunk verdict. Also, it seems that the further this goes along the more turns up. Let’s just hope no more Americans die before then.

Exactly, I think he knows exactly what was going on but still has to connect all of the dots.

Oh, Steve, let’s hope he is sitting on something that could blow this administration out of the water. I would sure like to see someone wipe that smirk off of Obama’s face.

I think it is going to happen, I just wish the media would get on board but we can’t have everything I guess.

With everything that has already beem revealed in the public there is absolutley no other plausible motive. We know these guns were never tracked, we have the multiple statements from all corners of this administration, with the newly revealed atf emails, the stonewalling and obstruction by the justice department, the intimidation of whiatlbowers, the operation outta florida, and lastly the complete ignorance by the state control media of this story. there is no question as to the motive and purpose of this nefarious and murderous plan.

Exactly, at this point I think the Oversight Committee doesn’t want to blow this on a technicality so they are going to take it slow.

Well, duh! Tell us something we didn’t know ….. that’s my backwards way of agreeing with you – and admit I’ve been unable to write it so succinctly. Well put!

Had they had any brains, they could have put chips inside the guns to enable tracking them …. but they didn’t ….. have any brains, nor any other plausible explanation.

I don’t think they ever really wanted to track them in the first place, hence no chips. This is a rogue regime which must be brought to its knees as soon as possible.

Obama was quoted as saying “people shouldn’t be allowed to own guns” (paraphrasing) while working at Loyola University (?) in Chicago. He was having a private debate with a history professor who happened to be a constitutionalist. Apparently he was unable to refute any of the prof’s arguments and that was his final comment before he just walked away. I am not holding my breath on any of this. Nixxon stepped down over a hell of a lot less than this. I continue to contend this is treason. At the very least, murder charges need to be filed against EVERYONE involved. These critters were literally trying to undermine the Constitution. They are the domestic enemies the document refers to. I also believe they were HOPING there would be murders on the border to strengthen their argument. This country has never seen anything like this. This is the American version of the Reichstag fire, assuming you believe the official 9-11 commission report. This is one more reason I’ve become so intolerant of Obama supporters. Nothing but disgust and contempt for these “people”.

I hadn’t heard that story about Obama before, but I certainly don’t doubt it! You are right, this is so far worse than Watergate that it should be the downfall of this president and Eric Holder should be led away in handcuffs. The media is negligant in their silence.

The interview with the Constitutionalist prof was on the Mark Levin show a year or two ago. Hard to say, but one may be able to find it on marklevinshow.com.

It looks like this thing is even worse-if that’s possible. mcnorman left this link. Gunrunner, Operation Castaway, now straw companies buying weapons?
