Washington DC advisory firm admits Obamacare is moving too fast

February 8, 2014

Since Obamacare has been officially implemented we have seen the president unilaterally change the law by issuing extensions to certain provisions of the law as well as exemptions to parts of the law.

Once millions of Americans realized that they were lied to and were not going to be able to keep their healthcare insurance after all the regime felt so much blow back that it was forced to say never mind, you can keep that plan we don’t think is good enough for you for one more year. Now it is being reported that Barack Obama is considering letting people keep what he believes in sub par insurance for three years instead of one year.

When asked about the possibility of this extension being extended this is what Brenda Gleason, president of Washington, D.C.-based advisory firm M2 Health Care Consulting, had to say:

One of the core goals of the ACA was to stop these kinds of plans,” Gleason said. “The problem became, okay, you say that you have to get rid of those kinds of plans, but what do you choose instead?”

Potentially extending the plans indicates that the administration could be “giving up on the philosophical issue,” Gleason said. “What they’re tacitly admitting is while the policy goal of getting rid of these bare-bones plans is important, the operational goal didn’t get met.”

But here is the money quote:

“When it comes down to when the rubber meets the road,” Gleason said, “we’re moving too fast.”

And that is the crux of the problem for that is what happens when you pass comprehensive reform in the form of a 2,000 page piece of legislation which nobody bothered to read in the first place.

Instead of passing comprehensive reforms the Democrats should have focused on smaller, more manageable reforms, probably in separate bills, which could then be monitored and changed if necessary and without all the confusion which is now ensuing in Washington and with the American people. In other words, they should have moved slower but they were blinded because they saw what they perceived as an opportunity to get what they have wanted all along–and that is a government control over the healthcare system–so instead of passing simple reforms they went for the whole kit and caboodle and now they are paying the price…..and more importantly, so are the American people.

“…Democrats should have focused on smaller, more manageable reforms…”

Hmmm…maybe they should have focused on pulling their heads out of their butts, while making sure not to contaminate the environment. Just a thought…

It is the habit of Leftists to overreach. And that’s what happened with the ACA. Now look at the mess we’ve got.

Mark my words. There will be a lot of economic hardship caused by ObamaCare. Including personal medical bankruptcies, which will result in more redistribution of wealth.
