Video: Chris Christie and Rand Paul debate the NSA spying program

August 7, 2015

I am on vacation and the remote for the television in the room we are staying in is not working properly so we had to tune into the Republican debate using an app and Fox News radio. After a long day I have to admit that I was not able to make it through the whole debate but there was one exchange that I found interesting and that was when Rand Paul and Chris Christie went toe to toe over the NSA spying program.

This exchange is a perfect juxtaposition between the big government establishment position and the constitutionalist position. I found the video of the exchange and I thought I would share it.

During this exchange you will note Chris Christie saying the government needs more tools with the proper oversight to ensure the government does things the right way to which Rand Paul counters that the right was is to obey the 4th Amendment.

Throughout the exchange Chris Christie tries to play on emotion by evoking the memories of the victims of September 11th as justification to trample the rights of Americans today.

This is one NJ resident not taken in by his emotional appeal bullshit.
Megan Kelly did her best to showcase her anti-Trump bias. Trump took the bait and may have gotten himself banned from FOX. Overall Kelly and Wallace did not equate themselves well while Baer didn’t show up. Just one man’s opinion.
PS: While Hillary’s criminal activities get a pass with no mention the candidates were taken to task over some nonsensical issues by both Kelly and Wallace.

Fox News’ agenda was showing in the part of the debate that I listened to last night, anyone who thinks that Fox doesn’t have an interest in who wins the primary is fooling themselves.

Reblogged this on Brittius and commented:
Fourth Amendment, Search & Seizure laws are in force for reasons to prevent unwarranted and unmerited searches and seizures. A dire situation must have probable cause, plus reasonable cause, with a third factor as immenent action based upon behavior of subject (erratic/insane/emotionally disturbed/belligerence) where loss of life or destruction of property is suspected as to be the next or most probable action. Then a court order or direct action without court order can be executed. Not, “Hi. How is your day? What are the kids doing? What’s for supper?”.

Thanks for the reblog! It bothers the hell out of me that people like Christie either do not understand or do not care about violating the Constitution when it comes to protecting Americans.

You’re welcome. Christie would be the wrong choice to have for president. Paul would be better however, the guy is too shakey. I am very disappointed with the selection of GOP candidates. They are democrats with an elephant stamp on their rump.

Yeah, sadly I think you are right for the most part. Jeb is going to be the nominee and he is nothing more than an establishment guy. But in the end I guess they all are so if somebody thinks electing one of these people is going to make a difference they are fooling themselves.

I watched it all. What I saw made me sure I was not going to watch FOX news anymore, as if it was much good before. The anchors should be ashamed of themselves. I know alot of people do not like Donald Trump and I have mixed emotions about him, BUT, he has brought a bit of LIFE to the party and is bringing up subjects that should be talked about. They went after him viciously with questions to set him up. Ted Cruz just did not get the questions to show what he knows, so that was a loss. You had your usual spats and one ups from a few of the catty ones, as well. FOX molded the candidates into what they wanted people to see by what questions they were asked. Ben Carson came out well and I think Scott Walker did, too. Kasich and Huckabee and Rubio were marginal (I like this word) with Rubio being pumped up by the moderators, too. Christie and Paul had to “show their butts” as I call it…with Christie being a bully and Paul being the guy that says “I know you are, but what am I”, attitude, juvenile. The one that you could see FOX was leaning towards was Jeb Bush, it appears to be that he is the golden child. I probably will not watch another debate (I do not know how they can call it that) if Megan Kelly and Chris Wallace are the moderators. Brett Baier was not as bad as they were, but he had his marching orders to go after The Donald, as well. It was shameful, so much for a fair and balanced network, they showed their true colors. The debate with “the others” as they have been referred to or the “B list” I think that Fiorina and Jindal were above board and Rick Perry should stick to Texas, as for the others, I will not comment.
This is my take on what I saw summed up, I could go into detail further, but you get the jest of it and I was just plain disgusted….no wonder the Democrats are ahead of us and look at all the material the Republicans gave them after this mess of a debate.

Ditto Lou. I stopped watching FOX several months ago. Their bias moves incrementally left and this must come from the top. Last nights moderator debacle made it clear the network will do its best to keep the status quo.
I stopped watching FIX, I mean FOX, when Wallace, during an O’Reilly interview asserted that Obama has a disdain for Israel and Netanyahu and O’Reilly disputed that and asked Wallace what proof did he have. Lights out

Pointing out who the were gunning for, good point Lou. It would be interesting to hear and see what the anchors were told in the debriefing room when preparing for this. And to know who gave those orders. Fox owners Rupert Murdoch & Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal (News Corp) probably had a say, along with the other ‘powers that be’ to bend in favor of their respected candidate – Bush?

We know it was staged and who was to be taken down was decided up front. I guess I had higher hopes that FOX might be unbiased, but I was sure wrong. I will never look at any of those moderators the same way….I thought that Candy Crowley was bad when she went after Mitt Romney with false information that pretty much he never recovered from. It doesn’t matter if it is taken back later, it did the damage they wanted it to do. Was that the turning point in the election??? Yes ZIP, we know that BUSH is the chosen one, funny how that happens…it was McCain and Romney and look where that got us! We have control of Congress and yet we still have McConnell and Boehner bending over backwards to make sure Obama knows we are going to work with him (or for him). If Bush gets in, we will be exchanging one president for another, but will we really have upgraded to someone that has the peoples best interest at heart? I doubt it. PETER, I would say that those in power or the shadow people have control of 100% of the media now, I had hoped for more time, but guess we are on our own now.

Here’s one for you Lou, goes right w/ what you’re saying: ‘Fox News debate fraud? Jeb Bush spoon-fed obviously pre-arranged questions while Donald Trump is viciously attacked by unfair, biased news anchors’ http://www.naturalnews.com/050697_Fox_News_debate_fraud_Donald_Trump.html
Another reason the ‘rulers’ want to get rid of alternative news – esp the internet.
They don’t call them ‘anchors’ for no reason Lou! The wrong kind. Instead of securing the ship/boat they prohibit it from moving to fresh waters. In the article Mike states: ‘one thing that really stood out was the total fraud of what Fox News pulled off. It was clear from the first five minutes that Fox News had pre-arranged softball questions for Jeb Bush to highlight his “heroic actions” and accomplishments. Meanwhile, the kinds of questions directed to Donald Trump were all thinly veiled accusations and insults, designed to attack Trump on issues that had nothing to do with running the country.’ Pretty disgusting – politics and media as usual, anti-Good.

Bari was suppose to be the peaceful one – right now he’s bombing Syria (again). I know what you mean about the Bush’s and war, but this fraud in chief has yet to stop any of them! And not only across the seas, but causing and pushing for divisions and wars right here in America – racial wars and another Civil War. That’s what he was ‘put in this position’ for and to do. I left this on Lorra B.’s blog, but I’ll share it with you here since you’ll relate to these ‘secret’ things and have knowledge of them: http://vigilantcitizen.com/sinistersites/sinister-sites-the-denver-international-airport/

I have seen this before and I consider it unsettling, at best. It would take months to actually decipher what it all means and then you might never know. There is alot of thought put into the mural and the other concepts, and it seems evil. I doubt the underground is only for shuffling luggage, given what the above ground looks like. I happen to like gargoyles, cannot say why and not for their hidden meaning, but for the wide range of different animals.

Yes, Lorra, I did. I think she is a highly intelligent woman with vast experience and will not back down from anyone. I have to wonder if we, as a nation, are ready for a female president? I know the Democrats are with Hillary, but I somehow doubt it with the Republicans. Sarah Palin would have made a good vice-president, but for John McCain being the anchor hanging out of her butt. Had she paired up with someone that really wanted to be president that might have been nice. She pulls no punches either. McCain really did not want the presidency, in my opinion. Either that or he just did not have the fight in him from the get go. Who knows. Back to Carly, I do like what she has to say and I think she is qualified, but I just do not see it happening this go around, but for VP, we could do worse. Jindal had alot to say, as well, when he was allowed to. The problem I see is that they are allowed to only say so much and are stopped for fear that we might actually identify with something intelligent that might possible come out of their mouths. We are being scammed, if what we saw was an unbiased fair and balanced debate on either of the groups.

Agreed, and agreed. Not sure if any woman will actually get the nomination at this time but I sure would like to see her up against the others. The debates, heck, they are always twisted and bias and if the country keeps going down the road it is it will only get worse.

Thanks for the analysis on the first debate Lou. I did not hear it but everything I have seen says Carly did great. Perhaps she will make the big stage next time. Speaking of Fox’s bias: Carly was polling sixth and she did not make the cut for the big stage because Fox wanted the hometown guy in there for the cheap applause.

“DRAMATIC accusations by Michael Savage upon FOX NEWS…. Savage says the Thursday TV event on Fox was not a “debate” it was an inquisition aimed at vilifying the two GOP front runners — Don Trump and Ted Cruz. Michael Savage also says he has INSIDER info from multiple sources at FOX, indicating FOX owner Rupert Murdoch is a secret sellout AGAINST TRUE conservatives, Murdoch is soft on illegal immigration, and has already made a deal with Hillary to help her campaign. Such that, says Savage, FOX network will be doing things trying to undermine the credibility of the TRUE conservatives in the GOP whoa are making bids for the White House.” http://www.daretoreadit.com/id/44772/savage-says-fox-news-is-covertly-betraying-true-conservatives

You could call it entertainment at best SDL, but it was NOT a debate. I would rather have heard an answer from each of them on the same question. When a moderator can pick and choose what question to ask which candidate, there is where the problems start. Do we really know any more about any of them after this debate”? No and that is because you could not compare their answers. 10 people are way too many people to have up on one stage and why some of them think they have a snowballs chance in hell of being the top dog is beyond me. I think once you dip into single digits, you are OUT, period….this was system overload and just a show.

If only we could the best of each of them package it and have just one pop out. To me, Rand does better when he’s just presenting the facts without debating and Christie played his weakness. Christie might just be setting himself up for a ‘position’ in the bigger game – the shadow gov rulers sticking him in there to do just what he did last night.

I didn’t watch the debate, I refuse to watch debates. They are pointless and just bad – very bad – theater.

We don’t use the right criteria when choosing our representatives. We choose them based on what they think instead of choosing them based on their ability and willingness to obey the Constitution and do so according to their constituents wishes.

These are our choices??? I’m beyond disappointed.

That’s a logical thought Laura and reasonable thinking (and you know how that’s not in the cards anymore w/ this Gov.), what clog up the drain is their ‘chosen’ inability or unwillingness to ‘obey’ the Constitution – be in accordance w/. Example, these Rep. Congress replacements … they have the ability to do good but they error and do the opposite. I bet a LOT of people watched last night Laura, just to see if there was any hope of saving America from the enemies running it now. And that’s another thing – who IS running the show and what will things be like when the election time comes around?

From what I heard last night it was clear Fox’s objective was to bring down trump and prop up Jeb. Clearly Fox wants the establishment candidate to win. And you guys know how I feel about Trump: he is a liberal and a Democrat plant and at least Rand had a chance to call him on it.

Bottom line, Bunker, it was a set up to start taking certain people out and elevating others. There once was a time that I thought most of the right were becoming wooses, but now, I can see that FOX has learned well from the other side OR they have been infiltrated by powers that want to take them down. It has become evident that we, the people, will NOT have a say so in this election. So much for being in the land of the free, that is not for the working class anymore, just for the ones on the dole……
