Donald Trump opens up 24 point lead in latest New Hampshire poll

August 26, 2015

According to a new poll Donald Trump has opened up a gigantic lead against his Republican rivals in New Hampshire, here is more:

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is dominating the crowded GOP field in the early-voting state of New Hampshire, holding a 24-point lead over his nearest rival, according to a new poll.

Trump is supported by 35 percent of GOP primary voters in the state, followed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich (11 percent) and businesswoman Carly Fiorina (10 percent), according to the survey released Tuesday from the left-leaning Public Policy Polling.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker each take 7 percent, followed by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 6 percent. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio each have 4 percent, while Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has dropped to 3 percent.

donald trumpI really do not understand Donald Trump’s appeal. Well, that is not entirely true, I understand it to a point; Americans are upset with the political establishment and are looking for an alternative. Donald Trump seems to be that alternative, however a closer inspection of his past, including comments about Republicans and his views being more aligned with the Democratic party is warranted and should be getting more scrutiny from the voters before they simply fall for his bombastic rhetoric which offers no solutions.

Donald Trump is saying what many of us have said in the past about the establishment politicians in Washington and the mainstream media, and while it might be enjoyable it alone does not qualify a person to be the President of the United States. Sure it can be entertaining but at some point when asked about an issue “we need to fix that” is not going to be sufficient and will require the followup question “how?” I wonder how many people will like his answer at that point…

When Donald Trump entered the race I did not think he would have the staying power once people realized he was more of a Democrat than anything else but I think this poll shows us he is going to be around for awhile–he is a legitimate candidate–and I wonder if the voters are really looking at this man in the right light.

I mean, listening to a person’s rhetoric while ignoring his past is kind of how we got in this situation in the first place, is it not?

Empty rhetoric? Look no further than the republican career politicians who swindled us voters in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Led , or not led, from McConnel and Bohner on down the republican congress has been little more than a rubber stamp in the hands of Obama. These Lilliputians in the House haven’t even the balls to oust their drunken speaker never mind take on the golfer and his agenda to dissemble the country and the Western world. Given the choices I would vote for Trump even if he promised little more than to stop the melting of the polar ice caps. There’s a better chance of that happening than anything most of the rest have ever promised.

        Seriously?

petermc3, desperately, burped out, “Given the choices I would vote for Trump even if he promised little more than to stop the melting of the polar ice caps. There’s a better chance of that happening than anything most of the rest have ever promised.”

        Really?

Would one care to state what ‘petermc3’ is _for_?

Peter, Trump has at least if nothing else, opened up the conversation about illegals. None of the others wanted to touch it, first. Now that it is out in the open, they can hesitantly talk about it. Trump is a DOING man, not one that just talks. We have had that for years and this is actually a breath of fresh air that someone speaks what they feel and not test the waters before they open their mouth. I can see him going all the way to the candidate position. I also want to see someone that has passion for the country and not be working against us. I am sure that in the end, the voting machines will be tampered with as they have been the past 2 elections and we will get more crap back in the White House. There are a couple others that I think might have the capacity to be good presidential material, but I will wait to say who they are until after I see and hear more about them. We are in BIG trouble with this Administration and to put more of the same in office or a Socialist in office would be Country wide suicide. Say what you will, but I at least believe Trump loves this country and is tired of it being taking down the tubes by evil politicians. He has proven he can be tough, can anyone say the same thing about Obama? Oh, yes, as to Bernie Sanders, a man that would let 2 “girls” take his microphone and take over the stage is a wimp! I would have absolutely NO faith in him as a president whether I liked his politics or not, which I do not!!

You are 100% right about illegal immigration, if it were not for Trump we would not even be talking about it so I do have to give him credit for that.

There is no perfect candidate, they all seem to have baggage, but then again I guess who doesn’t have! I have the feeling that the front runner will not be who the establishment will allow in to run in the election. They already have that person picked out. I just don’t think we have much say in it any more. I think they allow us to THINK we do, but do we really?
Immigration is a BIG thing to alot of people now. Besides not having jobs for Americans and having to pay for medical care and everything else in the way of freebies for the illegals, there are alot of very pissed off people. I resent seeing the LINK cards here in Illinois going thru in front of me at the store with people that gripe about having to pay a few dollars for things that are not covered. The worse part is, they are paying with a wad of cash and are buying more food that I am and I am PAYING for it for them. Is this fair, I ask you? This is being done to us on purpose!

I agree with you; I also think the candidate has already been chosen and we know who it is. But Trump does throw a wrench into the plans because he will have the money to counter Jeb whereas the others will eventually be strangled out due to lack of funds.

Trump does not need to have money from anyone else, so he doesn’t OWE anyone anything. That is what I like about him, I guess. He is his own man. We could do worse….what am I saying….we ARE doing worse with what is in there now. We see where that has gotten us.

Good points, I guess what my problem really is is that he has had some very liberal positions in the past and that worries me.

Point taken on his positions…but people can and do evolve as they get older and wiser. I look at it from the point of view that most the others will cave to the Democrats or the politically correct machine and for some reason I do not see Trump doing that. I am tired of being pumped up that they will fight for OUR rights, just to be shot down again and walked all over. Cruz would be a good choice and possibly Walker, but not sure they have the force behind them to stay steady. Trump on the other hand is used to calling the shots and not taking no for an answer. Unlike what we have in office and Congress now, we just might come back up in the world as a super power. OR, we can keep pacifying everyone and their brother and keep going down hill. I do not think we will find the perfect candidate and even if we did, we have the fraud that comes with voting to contend with. I know that Romney really did not put up a fight when there was blatant fraud with the machines, but Trump is a whole different ball game. He does not like to lose and I doubt that he would say, “oh well” and let the other guy win under suspicious circumstances. Guess that is why I have a bit more faith that he just might win and actually ACT on some of the woes that have fallen on us. Do I like him as a person? I am not sure, but I think I am beginning to trust him that he loves this country and wants to see us back on our feet. Now, as to who would be a running mate for him???? A female? A different nationality? I just do not know what would be best, BUT, he has alot of the smartest men and women he hires to do the background work, so maybe he might just pull this off. Right now we have a bunch of novices in this Administration that THINK they know what they are doing and look where it has gotten us! They deplete our military to where I wonder if we could even protect ourselves anymore. Was that the plan? They take out top military men and women and replace them with YES people. That was sure a great plan, or maybe it WAS on purpose, yes, it probably was. I am sick of what we have, Steve and I want us to be proud to be called Americans again and to have people love and respect us as a country. As of now, that is not the case, we are hated and laughed at. That says alot about the man in charge, doesn’t it?

I don’t trust Trump, but people can, and do, change. I’m not the same person I was 20, 10, even 5 years ago. However, my core principles are still the same.

Cruz is no more a Natural Born Citizen than obama is. Neither is Rubio or Jindal. I’m leaning towards Walker or Rand.

I like what Trump is saying, but I just can’t see him as president. Although, I would vote for him in the election, if he were the republican candidate.
