Bernie Sanders accuses the DNC of planting a mole in his campaign

December 26, 2015

Last week the Democratic National Committee blocked the Bernie Sanders campaign from accessing the party’s national voter database after it was discovered that somebody in his campaign inappropriately  (there’s that word again) accessed Hillary Clinton’s campaign database 25 times. This led Bernie Sanders to file suit against the DNC, claiming the committee was trying to sabotage his campaign and protect Hillary Clinton. The DNC eventually gave him back access to the national database after an agreement was reached however the lawsuit is still impending, Bernie Sanders is still suing the DNC. You can read more of the backstory here if you missed it.

Today the Sanders campaign upped the ante by claiming this is a conspiracy. Here is more:

In a conversation with Yahoo News, a top Sanders campaign adviser made a series of explosive allegations about how the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and a political technology company that works with the party handled the incident. According to the Sanders adviser, the DNC and NGP VAN, a firm that has a contract with the party organization to operate a voter file, have responded to the data breach by “leaking information” and “stonewalling an investigation” into the matter.

Sanders’ adviser noted that a lawsuit the campaign filed in federal court about the data breach last Friday, Dec. 18, is still ongoing, and described it as an attempt to get answers despite the party’s lack of cooperation.

The Democrats “stonewalling an investigation?” Say it ain’t so! Bernie Sanders now knows what it feels like to be on the other side of this type of behavior; Hillary Clinton, Lois Lerner, and all of the others in Democratic leadership are experts in this field. Just ask the Tea Party or Chris Stevens. Oops scratch that last one because he cannot be reached for comment.

But there is more:  Josh Uretsky is the man the Sanders campaign fired for accessing Hillary Clinton’s database and NGP VAN is the software the Democratic National Committee uses to operate the database. It turns out that Josh Uretsky was recommended to the Sanders campaign by the DNC and he has ties to NGP VAN. This, the unnamed Sanders official claims, is proof of a conspiracy:

The top Sanders adviser told Yahoo News one of the remaining concerns is that Uretsky was recommended to the campaign by people with ties to the DNC and NGP VAN.

“It’s not as if we conjured this guy Josh from thin air. This is an individual … who was recommended to us by the DNC and NGP VAN,” the adviser said.

“I just think it’s utter hypocrisy on their part,” said the adviser. “I mean here we are being attacked for the behavior of an individual, which we ultimately fired. We agree he acted improperly, but it’s just amazing to me that this … individual that actually caused this trouble in our campaign was recommended by these guys.”

“I don’t know how you can more centrally connect this thing than those two entities,” the adviser explained. “Here we are being attacked by both of those entities when, in fact, they recommended this guy to the campaign.”

bernie sanders  In other words; the Democratic National Committee planted a mole in the Sanders campaign who then went on to access Hillary Clinton’s database causing all this trouble in the first place in an attempt to sabotage the Sanders campaign.

I have come up with two possible scenarios which could possibly explain what is going on here: Bernie Sanders’ whole campaign revolves around a rigged system. Taking a page out of Elizabeth Warren’s playbook he has complained that both the economic system and the political system are rigged and this just happens to play into his campaign. He is plying the victim here even though his campaign is the guilty party; is it possible this is just an attempt by Bernie Sanders to prove to not only his supporters but also his potential supporters that the political system is rigged?

My other scenario is that this is part of a vast right-wing conspiracy! Maybe the Republicans planted Josh Uretsky in the Democratic party years ago hoping a day like this would come and are now reaping the benefits. It’s as good a theory as any…

I have to admit this is quite enjoyable.

The media seems determined to ignore and/or marginalize Sanders, what would Hillary Clinton stand to gain by giving him a national spotlight and making him appear to be an actual viable contender. This was no mole. He had some young guy hard pressed to gain an advantage by any means necessary.

In this election, we’re not actually dealing with Liberal vs. Conservative or Republican vs. Democrat. We are dealing with the entrenched power brokers vs. We The People.

Hillary was supposed to be the Dems’ choice with O’Malley providing some official competition. Then Sanders showed up and made a good impression as an independent who is only nominally a Democrat. (Outside of being a Socialist, Sanders actually looks pretty good.)

Similar situation on the Republican side. The two leaders are Trump, who has no political background whatsoever and Cruz who is a maverick. I suspect Rubio and Bush were supposed to be the Republican candidates, then Trump, Cruz and Carson got in the fight.

Want to guess why even when it was clear that Huckabee, Fiorina, et al were clearly not going to win that they continued to be included in the debates? Simple, it dilutes the message from the truly independent candidates.

Following that theory, it would look that Gowdy’s endorsement of Rubio wasn’t so much to help Rubio as it was to further divide and weaken the Republican vote, thus making it easier for Hillary to win. That would indicate that the Republican power brokers are in league with the Democrats to quietly rule the U.S., regardless of the will of the People.

Folks, this is one of the most critical elections in the history of the U.S. We the People have to win or we are screwed. Take your choice, Trump or Cruz and then back the winner to the max in the general election. This is a must win for us.

    POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

Excellent analysis once again Dr. Jeff. I think you are onto something about why so many people have been allowed at the debates when they are clearly going nowhere.
I think Trump, Carson, (although he is trailing off) and even Sanders are where they are because people are tired of the establishment and are looking for an alternative. If Sanders did mount a third party candidacy it would be very interesting to watch.

That was no mole. Those were moths flying out of his flea bitten suit he bought at Moe Ginsberg’s on Canal Street.

Not so crazy an accusation of a mole now, with #AZElectionFraud and the #NYVoterSuppression behind us, “mysteriously” only Democrats are having technical difficulties with voting.

I will sorely disappointed if Mr. SANDERS secede from his campaign.
