Hillary Clinton claims she will put a lot of coal workers and coal companies out of business
Well, it looks like Hillary Clinton is taking a page right out of Barack Obama’s 2008 playbook. We all remember when the soon to be President promised to bankrupt the coal industry but in case you have forgotten here is the video:
Hillary Clinton is now making what amounts to the same claim when she said “we’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.” Here is the video:
Usually politicians run on the promise of creating jobs not destroying them but much like in 2008 we have a candidate promising to run people out of business. Somehow this worked for Barack Obama in 2008 as he still won the support of the coal unions and workers, who subsequently expressed dismay with Barack Obama for making good on his promise to put them out of business. However you should note that Hillary Clinton personalized this by admitting workers would be affected whereas Barack Obama made it sound as if only coal companies would be affected by his policies. This is a distinction which should not be lost on the people who rely upon the coal industry for their standard of living.
Hillary Clinton is promising to put these people back to work in the green energy business (how long will that take?) but I have just one question for the people the former Secretary of State is promising to put out of work: after having been burned by Barack Obama, or should I say burned by not listening to what Barack Obama was saying, are you really stupid enough to vote for another candidate who is promising to put you in the ranks of the unemployed on the promise she will find you another job at some point in the future?
