Utah becomes seventeenth State to pass Constitutional carry
With the wealth of negativity coming from Washington and the circus our Federal government has become how about we turn to one of the States for a little good news? Utah has become the 17th State to abolish the need for a permit to carry concealed in the State. Here is more:
Today, February 12th, Utah Governor Spencer Cox signed HB 60 into law. The NRA would like to thank Governor Cox for his strong commitment to the Second Amendment and the rights of law-abiding citizens.
“There is no reason a law-abiding person should have to ask for permission to carry a firearm for self-defense,” said Jason Ouimet, executive director, NRA-ILA. “The passage of this bill demonstrates Utah’s commitment to protecting the Second Amendment rights of its citizens.” “We thank Gov. Cox, Rep. Brooks, and all who supported this important bill,” Ouimet concluded.
House Bill 60, sponsored by Representative Walt Brooks (R-75), allows a law-abiding adult to carry a concealed firearm in the State of Utah, without first needing to obtain government permission. This ensures that citizens have their right to self-defense without government red tape or delays. Additionally, this legislation maintains the existing Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP) system, so citizens who still wish to obtain a permit may do so.
This is a growing trend in the United States and hopefully the movement will continue to grow, as I expect Joe Biden to make a major push on gun control in the coming weeks using nothing but his pen and his phone. If enough States move in this direction maybe it will serve as a warning to the gun grabbers in Washington DC not to push it too far.

Despite New York Democrats doing their best to protect Andrew Cuomo by blocking a subpoena for nursing home death data related to his disastrous COVID-19 nursing home directive the truth is slowly getting out there. The request for this data was made after the New York Attorney General reported that Andrew Cuomo underreported the nursing home deaths by 50% and now it is getting even worse for the man who wants to be President in the future.
According to this story the underreporting of these deaths was not due to negligence or an oversight but was an intentional act by the Governor to avoid a Federal investigation. Here is more:
Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s (D-NY) top aide admitted that her team withheld the number of deaths related to COVID-19 in New York’s nursing homes to shield the Cuomo government from federal investigation and political scrutiny.
The New York Post reported on Thursday that Melissa DeRosa, New York’s secretary to the governor, apologized to Democrat state legislators for “political” damage caused by the Cuomo government’s suppression of information related to nursing home COVID-19 deaths.
In a recorded call with state Democrat lawmakers, DeRosa said Cuomo’s team feared a federal investigation in the context of former President Donald Trump’s highlighting of coronavirus-related deaths in New York’s nursing homes. This fear motivated Cuomo’s government to suppress the statistics against requests for such information from the state’s government and citizens’ organizations.
When things went awry in New York and the death total began rising due to the poor direction of the Governor his first reaction was not to find out what went wrong and to correct it so more people did not die, but rather to cover it up because he had higher political aspirations and he did not want anything to get in the way.

When the boutique tech firm Yosi Health developed software aimed at streamlining the nation’s coronavirus vaccine effort, CEO Hari Prasad sought help from one of its earliest investors — a company with a special government connection.
The investor was StartUp Health, and that special connection came through its chief medical officer, Howard Krein, who is married to President Joe Biden’s daughter.
That detail that was not lost on Yosi’s Prasad, who reached out to StartUp Health in December with a request to introduce their platform to government health officials.
“Our goal with StartUp Health is to leverage their relationships and work with state and federal agencies,” he explained in an interview with ABC News.
It is all right there in black and white; it is pretty evident what “leverage their relationships” means.
“Howard Krein is playing with fire,” said Meredith McGehee, the executive director of Issue One, a nonpartisan ethics watchdog group. “If he gets too close to that flame — if he is trying to either cash in on his relationship with the president, or he is trying to influence policy — the flame is going to get him. And it is not worth it to him or to Biden.”
Krein helps oversee StartUp Health investments in hundreds of companies, including some hoping to break through with the federal agencies battling the global coronavirus pandemic.
Since 2011, when Krein founded the firm with his brother Steven Krein and veteran tech entrepreneur Unity Stoakes, Joe Biden has been an active supporter of the venture — headlining corporate conferences and inviting the company’s executives to the Oval Office to meet then-President Barack Obama.
Is it any wonder Joe Biden has been an “active supporter of the venture?” The only thing surprising about this article is the fact it comes from ABC, nothing in the article itself surprises me, we have seen how the Biden family operates for decades now. It would have been nice if this type of reporting was done a few months ago, before it was too late to do anything about it.

Joe Biden is considering putting travel restrictions on Florida
Florida is one state where life is slowly beginning to normalize after the overreaction of most states in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Restaurants, hair salons, and schools are open in the Sunshine State and Governor DeSantis is urging people to go back to work. Governor DeSantis is not following in line with the fear-mongering of the Federal Government and when you have a totalitarian in charge of the Federal Government you cannot have that.
So Joe Biden is apparently considering punishing the state of Florida for having the audacity to give freedom a chance by banning domestic travel to the state. Here is more:
The Biden administration is considering whether to impose domestic travel restrictions, including on Florida, fearful that coronavirus mutations are threatening to reverse hard-fought progress on the pandemic.
“There are active conversations about what could help mitigate spread here, but we have to follow the data and what’s going to work. We did this with South Africa, we did this with Brazil, because we got clear guidance,” one White House official said.
“But we’re having conversations about anything that would help mitigate spread,” the official said, referring to discussions about new travel restrictions that could target the spread of the U.K. mutation in Florida.

It was only a matter of time before the Democrats introduced some form of gun control legislation now that they control both branches of the Congress and the Presidency. We knew whatever they put forth was going to be bad but the legislation Sheila Jackson-Lee has put forward might be even worse than we feared. Here is more:
Texas Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee has proposed a gun control bill that would create a national firearm registry, set a minimum gun ownership age at 21 and both require licensing and psychological evaluations.
The proposed Sabika Sheikh Firearm Licensing and Registration Act would make it a crime to possess a firearm or ammunition without the new license or sell one to someone who doesn’t have the license.
A registry, psychological evaluations, and licensing and we are just getting started. By the way isn’t the idea of licensing guns what the Second Amendment was designed to protect us from? Let’s continue:
It also requires gun owners to pay for insurance and bans ammunition of .50 caliber or greater, except for law enforcement and a limited range of security personnel.
Gun owners would also have to complete a government training course, have a clean record and register their firearms with the federal government. Registry information would be available to law enforcement from the local to the federal level as well as the U.S. military.
Anyone who has ever been hospitalized due to mental illness, drug or alcohol abuse, homicidal or suicidal thoughts or a brain disease would not be eligible to obtain a firearms license.
The psychological evaluation process would also take into account the psychological condition of other members of the licensee’s household, current and former spouses, relatives and associates.
Did you catch the insurance requirement, or the fact everybody in your household will need a psychological exam? Oh, there is also a special license required if you would like to display an antique firearm on your wall or own a “military-style weapon.”
This is what passes for “common sense” gun legislation in the Democrats’ minds, and in the unlikely event that a couple of sane Democrats step up and stop this legislation we can rest assured it will make it to Joe Biden’s desk in the form of Executive Orders.

Ilhan Omar’s campaign funneled $3 million to husband’s firm during the 2020 campaign
The 2018 election cycle turned out to be a fairly lucrative venture for Ilhan Omar and her husband. Omar’s campaign funneled roughly $3 million to a firm with ties to her brother in 2018, you can read that story here.
Having never been called to the carpet for these apparent campaign finance violations Ilhan Omar apparently decided it was okay to do it this time around as well. Here is more:
Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D., Minn.) campaign payments to her husband’s firm accounted for nearly 80 percent of its cash haul during the 2020 elections, federal filings show.
The E Street Group, a D.C. consulting firm owned by Tim Mynett, Omar’s husband, and his partner Will Hailer, received $3.7 million from political committees this past cycle. Omar’s campaign was by far its biggest moneymaker, doling out 146 checks for $2.9 million, or 78 percent of the firm’s payments.
Omar’s payments to E Street constituted a large part of her campaign expenditures. Her committee spent $5.2 million, meaning that the $2.9 million that she funneled to her husband’s firm was 56 percent of the campaign’s operational costs.
Ilhan Omar defended this by saying of course she would use the same firm that helped her so much the last time, it did such a great job. Yeah, I have to admit it did work out well for them last time so why not make another cool $3 mil? Joe Biden’s mask police to fine people up to $1,500 for violations
A few days ago we learned that Joe Biden was deploying the TSA and “other Federal authorities” to enforce the public transportation mask mandate. This does not mean the TSA will just be making sure everybody is wearing a mask, but also that the mask is a government approved mask and has the proper fit.
The CDC announced that it could impose criminal penalties but do not fear, they really do not want to use them. However that stance apparently did not last long because it is being reported here that the TSA recommending fines mask violators up to $1,500. Here is more:
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has recommended a fine of $250, increasing to up to $1,500, for repeated violations of its recently released federal transportation face mask requirement.
“Based on substantial aggravating or mitigating factors, TSA may seek a sanction amount that falls outside these ranges,” the agency wrote in a Friday update.
On Sunday, TSA was authorized to fine passengers who fail to comply with the new mask requirements on public transportation systems.
“This will help prevent further spread of COVID-19 and encourage a unified government response,” Darby LaJoye, a senior TSA official who is performing the duties of the agency head, said at the time. “As we continue to experience impacts from this pandemic, we are committed to this measure as the right thing to do for the TSA workforce, for our industry stakeholders and for passengers.”
“Unified government response.” If those words do not send a chill up your spine I do not know what will. And incidentally, do you find it odd the TSA official in charge of this mentioned “stakeholders” in his comment? There is too much money to be made in the mask and mask accessory industry at this point to have any faith in this ever going away.
Remember when Joe Biden said all he was doing was asking Americans to wear a mask for 100 days? Does this sound like he is asking any more? I did not think so.

When Donald Trump declared a national emergency on the Southern border and then used that proclamation to start building a wall his supporters cheered because finally a President was not giving in to the other side or to political correctness.
In all of the euphoria there were some voices out there trying to remind the people that this could be a dangerous precedent which was being set. We tried to warn the American people that when a Democrat got back into the White House he or she could just as easily declare a national emergency on the climate or on gun violence and then use that crisis to implement an agenda the Congress was unwilling to approve. And now it looks like that warning is about to become a reality.
According to this story Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, and the usual band of suspects are introducing a bill declaring climate change a national emergency. Putting aside the fact the President does not need a bill to declare a national emergency, here is more:
The National Climate Emergency Act, introduced by Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Earl Blumenauer of Oregon, along with Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, would direct Biden to declare a national emergency under the National Emergencies Act of 1976, allowing him to unlock sweeping presidential powers and be able to organize resources to mitigate climate change.
They had introduced a similar resolution in 2019 — but it had little hope of advancing in the Republican-led Senate and under former President Donald Trump. Now, the lawmakers have re-energized their efforts under a new administration committed to combating climate change with an ambitious plan to do so.
“We’ve made a lot of progress since we introduced this resolution two years ago, but now we have to meet the moment. We are out of time and excuses,” Ocasio-Cortez said in the statement.
She added, “Our country is in crisis and, to address it, we will have to mobilize our social and economic resources on a massive scale.”
This is precisely why many of us thought Donald Trump’s national emergency at the Southern border was dangerous and ill-advised, and now with Democrats in power the entire Democratic platform they have been trying unsuccessfully to implement for decades is going to come to fruition in probably less than a year. Massachusetts climate official: ‘we have to break your will’
Global warming is back in the spotlight now that Joe Biden and his radical cronies are back in power. With a majority in both houses of the Congress and with a President who is more than willing to use his pen and his phone they no longer feel it necessary to couch their feelings in flowery sounding language. In fact they have pretty much promised to break Trump supporters, and that is a tact they are apparently going to take on the issues as well. Here is what a Massachusetts climate official had to say about breaking the average Joe:
“60 percent of our emissions come from residential heating and passenger vehicles,”
“So let me say that again, 60 percent of our emissions that need to be reduced come from you, the person across the street, the senior on fixed income, right?” he said, acknowledging there is “no bad guy left, at least in Massachusetts, to point the finger at, to turn the screws on, and you know, break their will, so they stop emitting.”
“That’s you,” he declared. “We have to break your will. Right? I can’t even say that publicly,”
That is an admission that the climate alarmists are no longer going to go after the big businesses. They claim it is because they have reigned them in but I would bet the payoffs have come in. So now they are turning to you and me and they are going to strongarm us until we no longer have the will to fight. This is how tyrants operate, I have said it before but we are no longer living in America.
