Howard Dean calls Steve Bannon a Nazi

November 20, 2016

The left has become unhinged after Donald Trump’s surprise victory over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Presidential election. The same party which once told conservative voters to “get over it” after Barack Obama won reelection now has no intention of getting over it themselves.

Instead of trying to heal the wounds of a deeply divided nation the left is promulgating unrest and civil disobedience with their rhetoric hoping to stir up violence so they can say “I told you so.” They are putting their own personal agenda’s ahead of everything else by trying to ensure a self-fulfilling prophesy of violence. (I have no problem with civil disobedience or protesting the government however when people are being pulled from their vehicles and beaten just because they supported Donald Trump the line has been crossed between civil disobedience and anarchy.)

The latest example of this comes from Howard Dean when he went on the air and called Steve Bannon a Nazi. Here is how it went down:

November 20th open thread: ‘Wind of Change’

November 20, 2016

open-thread Here is the open thread for Sunday, November 20th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week  we discussed 9 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!

On November 8th the voters had a choice; they could choose what would amount to Barack Obama’s third term or they could vote for a change of direction. The voters chose the latter so here is “Wind of Change” as performed live by The Scorpions in 2007.

Barack Obama suspends his executive amnesty court battle

November 19, 2016

Barack Obama used his pen and his phone back in 2014 in order to unilaterally declare amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants, however it was stopped by the courts and the President has been fighting ever since to get it passed.

The Obama regime felt so strongly about this that it was willing to mislead the courts but in the aftermath of the Presidential election it  now appears as if Barack Obama is giving up the fight, here is more:

The administration has already taken the first step to accommodate President-elect Trump’s positions, agreeing Friday to take a timeout on President Obama’s push to kick-start his 2014 deportation amnesty.

In documents filed with a federal judge in Texas the Justice Department said that in light of the new management that will take over next year, the case should be suspended.

“Accordingly, the parties respectfully submit that further proceedings on the merits of this case, including the submission of a schedule for resolving the merits, should be stayed until February 20, 2017,” the Justice Department and lawyers for Texas said in a joint request of Judge Andrew S. Hanen.

“Given the change in Administration, the parties jointly submit that a brief stay of any further litigation in this Court before beginning any further proceedings would serve judicial efficiency and economy so that the parties have a better understanding of how they might choose to move forward,” both sides said.

The Obama regime has not dropped the case but is merely loooking for a stay until after the Presidential transition is complete but unless Donald Trump does the unexpected it would appear as if Barack Obama’s executive amnesty is dead.

The Right Take: ‘We Won. What’s Next?’

November 18, 2016

TruthRevolt editor Mark Tapson has begun a new weekly video commentary entitled “The Right Take.” This week was the second installment of the series and it is entitled “We Won. What’s Next?” I thought you guys might find this interesting so I have decided to share it. I think my favorite part is when he talks about the “totalitarianism of college political correctness.”

Jeff Sessions likely to be confirmed as the next Attorney General

November 18, 2016

Earlier today it was announced that Donald Trump had selected Jeff Sessions to be the next Attorney General. He is already being attacked by the left for some downright stupid comments he made many years ago (by many of the same people who defended Robert Byrd by claiming the late Senator had a change of heart) and when I was talking to a friend at work today I said I did not think he had a chance to be confirmed.

But according to this story it looks as if I was wrong:

Sen. Jeff Sessions is looking like a safe bet for Senate confirmation as attorney general — despite the Alabama lawmaker’s controversial past.

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), a potential swing vote on the Senate Judiciary Committee, will support Sessions, a spokesman said Friday. That’s a key pickup, given Flake’s moderate views on immigration and social issues, and his opposition to Donald Trump during the campaign. Then moderate Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) said he would support Sessions as did moderate Republican Susan Collins of Maine, all but clinching his elevation.

If Sessions can clear committee, he’ll likely win a floor vote to become the nation’s top law enforcement official, GOP Senate insiders said.

The Republicans will only hold 52 seats so how is this possible?

Donald Trump and Mitt Romney to meet to discuss the Secretary of State position

November 17, 2016

Donald Trump and Mitt Romney are scheduled to hold a meeting this Saturday and it is now being reported that they will be discussing the Secretary of State position. Here is more:

Former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will meet with Donald Trump this weekend to discuss the secretary of state position, a source close to the president-elect with direct knowledge of his thinking told NBC News.

I find it hard to believe Donald Trump is even going to consider Mitt Romney for any cabinet position after what the former Massachusetts Governor tried to do to him during the election but perhaps Donald Trump really is trying to mend the fences after a brutal election which pitted Republican against Republican in a way we had not seen before.

I am sure there might be a spot somewhere within the regime that would be a nice fit for Mitt Romney but naming him Secretary of State would be a horrible mistake in my opinion–we already have a wishy-washy, flip-flopping Secretary of State and we do not need another one…

One year gone–we still miss you Bob

November 16, 2016

This post is coming a day late but it took me some time to try to get it right, I still do not have it right (I wish I were a better wordsmith) but here goes. One year ago yesterday, November 15th, my stepfather Bob passed on suddenly after a long, bravely fought battle with Parkinson’s disease.

This is what I wrote one year ago while still struggling with the loss of one of the greatest people I have even known:

Sunday evening my family suffered a great loss and we are all still coming to terms with it. My Mom was watching the Patriots game with us when she got the call–my stepfather, Bob, passed away suddenly.

Bob had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease for many years and he fought bravely but now his suffering is over. Parkinson’s is a horrible disease, watching what it did to Bob over the years was heartbreaking but we all remember Bob as he was, and he was one of the kindest, gentlest, and caring people I have ever known. There is nothing Bob would not do for anyone and there is nobody who ever met him who had a bad word to say about him.

I still remember meeting Bob for the first time–me and my brother and sister were outside playing when my Mom introduced us. I think it is safe to say we all liked him immediately, although we had no idea he would someday be a member of the family.

That Summer Bob and my Mom rented a custom van and we took a vacation to Lake Winnipesaukee where he taught us all how to water ski. That lake became a very special place for our family and eventually we had a condo on the lake. We had so many great times there!

Bob loved the water, he grew up on it and at one time was actually offered a job in Florida as a professional water skier, and even after the condo was sold we always had a Summer camp on the water. I remember all those days fondly.

Bob was the master of the corny joke and he loved to repeat them whenever he had a chance: one of the jokes I remember the most has to do with my singing. I always loved to sing but those who know me know that I have probably the worst singing voice in the history of mankind, but Bob always got a kick out of my singing and he loved to tell people that I was a rock singer because when I sang people threw rocks at me. My wife and I were married on Bob’s 55th birthday and I decided to surprise him by getting up on stage and singing Happy Birthday to him. I am chuckling now as I think about it…

We all knew this day was coming but still it was unexpected because it happened so quickly. Bob was having a good day, in typical Bob fashion he was joking with the other residents and the nurses when he suddenly drew a breath and let go. It is a relief to know he did not suffer and it was not drawn out but it is still hard to believe he is gone.

I could go on and on about Bob and still never do him justice and honestly I cannot come up with the words to describe him and what he meant to me accurately. Goodbye Bob, I will love you and miss you forever but you will live on in my heart.

Bob truly was a person who did not have a vindictive or unkind bone in his body and we would all be better people if we could live up to the example he set for us. Even now words escape me and I am sobbing as I write this, and I still cannot describe to you what he meant to me accurately,  but I will say this: he had a smile that was contagious and just knowing him has made me a better person.

We still miss you Bob and will never forget the impact you had on our lives.

The title of this post was inspired by Led Zeppelin’s song “Ten Years Gone” and back when I was a teenager and dating my soon to be wife I was a huge Zeppelin fan, my taste in music has since changed but the impact Bob had on my  life will never change.

Media outraged after Donald Trump goes out to dinner with his family

November 16, 2016

During the campaign Wikileaks showed us that not only was the mainstream media biased against Donald Trump but also that the media was actively conspiring against him with the Democratic National Committee and with the Clinton campaign. Of course this attempt failed and now the mainstream media is looking for anything it can use in order to discredit the billionaire businessman before he takes office and I have to say the media has become unhinged.

The latest example of this is the way the mainstream media is covering the fact that Donald Trump went out for a private dinner with his family last night and did not inform the press pool he was doing so. CNN called this “yet another” example of Donald Trump not understanding the gravity his title of President-elect holds. (CNN did not bother to give us another example of this even though the network reporter said this was “yet another” example.) CNN also called this a matter of national security–apparently ignoring the fact that the secret service was protecting Donald Trump, he did not just go off on his own as CNN is making sound.

Supercut: Celebrities threatening (promising) to leave the country if Donald Trump is elected

November 14, 2016

Many celebrities threatened (promised) to move out of the country if Donald Trump was elected President but to date I have not heard of one of them who has even begun to take the steps to make good on this threat promise.

Of course when these celebrities made these claims they were still laughing at the prospect Donald Trump stood even a small chance of becoming President, they are not laughing any more but they are not moving.

Anyway, I thought you would enjoy this montage. I think my favorite part is when Lena Dunham says she knows people idly make these types of threats but she is serious. She was not serious because she did not take the prospect seriously.

Report: Donald Trump close to naming John Bolton Secretary of State

November 14, 2016

It is now being reported in several places that Donald Trump is leaning towards naming John Bolton as his Secretary of State. It is also being reported that Newt Gingrich is out of the running. Here is how the Huffington Post is reporting the unconfirmed story:

President-elect Donald Trump is leaning toward naming as secretary of state John Bolton, a bellicose enemy of Russia and Iran who is among the most hawkish members of the Republican foreign policy community, according to two sources familiar with Trump’s thinking.

Bolton is the former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, but served less than two years, as Democrats banded together to block his long-term appointment. His time was marked by a rapid uptick in anti-American sentiment among the global diplomatic community. Bolton remains one of the most disliked foreign policy operators on the world stage.

That’s odd! During the campaign the left claimed that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin were working together to take down Hillary Clinton so how can this be? Oh yeah, the left had no proof of this claim, they simply made it up for political gain.

During the election the left accused Donald Trump of being too close to Russia and now they are claiming he is basically trying to antagonize Russia. They cannot have it both ways but they are trying hard. The left-wing media has become unhinged at the unexpected loss and they are losing credibility–that is if they had any left after being so wrong (purposely) during the campaign.
