Establishment Republicans plot to oust Mike Lee in 2016
I have been stating for quite some time now that the establishment Republicans and the Democrats in Washington are on the same side–they are ruling class elitists who care most about protecting themselves–and if this story is true we have another example.
John Boehner has already punished several conservative Republicans in the House by removing them from committee positions for failing to fall in line and now it appears as if very powerful people are attempting to oust Mike Lee by giving him a primary opponent when he is up for reelection in 2016.

Anti-second amendment PSA urges children to steal parents’ guns and turn them in at school
A group called Sleeper13 Productions, which is apparently not affiliated with the government, has released what they are calling a Public Service Announcement in which they advocated children stealing their parents’ guns and turning them into teachers at school.

In the wake of the revenge killing of two New York City police officers, the head of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, Pat Lynch, had some harsh words for New York City Mayor de Blasio.

During a protest march last week in New York City people were heard chanting: “What do we want? Dead cops!” And early this morning it appears as if they got their wish when a man shot and killed two New York City policemen as they sat in their patrol car.
This attack seems to be directly related to, and motivated by, the Eric Garner and the Mike Brown killings, here is more:
A gunman who announced online that he was planning to shoot two “pigs” in retaliation for the police chokehold death of Eric Garner ambushed two officers in a patrol car and shot them to death in broad daylight Saturday before running to a subway station and killing himself, authorities said.
The suspect, 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley, wrote on an Instagram account: “I’m putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours, let’s take 2 of theirs,” officials said. He used the hashtags Shootthepolice RIPErivGardner (sic) RIPMikeBrown.
Police said he approached the passenger window of a marked police car and opened fire, striking Officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in the head. The New York Police Department officers were on special patrol doing crime reduction work in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn.
“They were, quite simply, assassinated — targeted for their uniform,” said Police Commissioner Bill Bratton, who looked pale and shaken at a hospital news conference.

Barack Obama says Sony should have called him before cancelling “The Interview” but Sony says they did
During his last press conference before heading to Asia, er I mean Hawaii, for a vacation (if you don’t understand the reference see here for a refresher) Barack Obama weighed in on Sony’s decision to cancel The Interview and this is what he had to say:
“I wish they had spoken to me first,” he said, when asked his opinion on the matter. “I would have told them, ‘Do not get into a pattern in which you’re intimidated by these kind of criminal attacks.’”
But Sony CEO Michael Lynton claims they did in fact reach out to the White House, here is his response:
Detractors of the President claim that Barack Obama has overstepped his bounds on several occasions by issuing Executive Orders to bypass the Congress and thusly is expanding the power of the Presidency to never before seen levels, while his supporters note the fact that Barack Obama has issued fewer Executive Orders than his predecessors to counter this claim.
The latter is something that the President himself has pointed out when defending his use of the Executive Order:
“The truth is, even with all the actions I’ve taken this year, I’m issuing executive orders at the lowest rate in more than 100 years,” Obama said in a speech in Austin last July. “So it’s not clear how it is that Republicans didn’t seem to mind when President Bush took more executive actions than I did.”
Last week Pew Research released a poll which showed that for the first time in 20 years more Americans feel it is more important to protect gun rights than it is to pass more gun control legislation.
It goes without saying, but I will say it anyway, that this has the left upset for it seems as if they are losing the gun control argument despite the fact they have tried to politicize every story they can in order to gain support for their attack on the second amendment.
