GOP unlikely to change Harry Reid’s new filibuster rules
You may remember that not all that long ago Harry Reid invoked what was called the “nuclear option” when the Republicans were in control of the Senate to change the filibuster rules on some Presidential nominees. This change meant that some nominees would only need a simple majority of 50 votes instead of a 60 vote super-majority.
According to this Politico article the Republicans are in the process of finalizing their Senate rules for when they take the majority in January and it is unlikely they will change the filibuster rules back to the way they were before Harry Reid changed them.

Cause of Action filed a lawsuit against the IRS seeking documents which the corrupt agency shared with the White House and last week the Treasury Inspector General admitted he had found so many documents–2,500 to be exact–that the IRS would need an additional two weeks to turn over the documents, but said the agency would comply.
However this week the IRS has changed its mind and has decided not to turn over the documents after all.

Is John Boehner planning to hold a “symbolic” vote on Barack Obama’s Executive amnesty?
You remember all of that tough talk before the election which spewed from the mouths of Republicans warning the President not to issue Executive amnesty or they would fight him tooth and nail to reverse it right?
Well, that was then and this is now. According to this story John Boehner is preparing a plan which would allow the Republicans to hold a symbolic vote on Barack Obama’s Executive amnesty.

Dr. Indur Goklany is a co-founder of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as well as a former United States adviser on global warming.
He has released a new report entitled Unhealthy Exaggeration: the WHO Report on Climate Change which, as you have probably already guessed by the title, refutes the World Health Organization’s report which was used at the latest United Nations climate summit.
He claims the reports was FUNDAMENTALLY flawed and the mortality rates estimated by WHO were greatly exaggerated, here is the summary of the report.
Jonathan Gruber has been out of the news for a few weeks now but he’s back because another video has surfaced. This video shows clips of him at two different events–one from 2012 and one from 2014–and I think they are quite interesting to say the least.
In the 2012 clip Jonathan Gruber basically states that if Obamacare fails we will have to revisit single-payer but in the 2014 clip he seems to reverse himself when he claims that is actually backwards and “if you like single-payer then Obamacare has to succeed.”
Many of us believe that Obamacare was designed to eventually lead the nation into a single-payer system and this appears to prove what we have been saying all along. The deception continues…

Harry Reid considers extending the lame-duck Senate session
As the voters made clear last November the American people have rejected Barack Obama’ agenda and they made it perfectly clear when they voted to put the Republicans in the majority in the Senate.
Many of us have stated that we must pay close attention to the lame-duck Senate session because the Democrats will try to ram through as much legislation as they can before the give up their hold on the upper chamber. Now Harry Reid is floating the possibility of extending the lame-duck Senate by one week in order to do just that.
Here is what he said earlier today:
Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran, who is also a Baptist deacon, recently published a book entitled Who Told You You Were Naked?
In this book he apparently talks about sexual promiscuity, homosexuality, and sex outside of marriage. Needless to say, because of his personal belief on homosexuality the LBGT community was outraged and because of this outrage he was suspended without pay for one month and ordered to undergo “sensitivity training.”

The Obamacare website is still not complete
There is no doubt that with the latest Obamacare open enrollment period the website is functioning much, much better than it did during last year’s open enrollment period.
However, buried in an article entitled Dark Days Ahead for Obamacare is this little blurb which I found to be quite interesting indeed.
ObamaCare’s health insurance exchanges have opened for enrollment with few stumbles this year, in a victory for Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell.
But that doesn’t mean the open enrollment period doesn’t come with other difficulties. The administration has just until Feb. 15 to bring millions of new customers into the system and encourage existing enrollees to come back and shop again.
The three-month window — about half as long as last year — is proceeding while the back-end of HealthCare.gov remains partly unfinished. Health insurers have been exasperated by the delays, as health officials verify some account and application details by hand.
Another year has passed and still the back end–arguably the most important end–of the healthcare website is not fully up and running.
How many millions of dollars have the taxpayers spent on this website? And still applications and verifications still need to be done by hand in many instances? This is unfathomable and unforgivable to me!
Just think about how smoothly the system is going to run once the Democrats achieve their goal of using Obamacare to propel us into a single-payer system…

The EPA estimates new ozone regulations will prevent 330 missed school days and 750 premature deaths
Despite the fact that earlier this year we celebrated the 18th anniversary of no global warming the EPA is charging (I know I am not supposed to use that term because MSNBC has determined it is racist, but it fits and no it is not) full steam ahead with new ozone regulations.
The EPA is justifying this by making the following absurd and unprovable claim, which I alluded to in the title of this post:
“While there’s more uncertainty with the science at that level, I’m very mindful that my science advisers have indicated that it should be on the table,” she said on Wednesday.
McCarthy estimates that meeting a 70 ppb level would prevent 330 missed school days, 32,000 asthma attacks and 750 premature deaths per year. She said those benefits would increase with a 65 ppb standard.
Gina McCarthy admits the science is uncertain but yet she still makes this claim and she justifies it thusly:
