Jonathan Gruber convinced Barack Obama the individual mandate was needed in Obamacare
You may recall during the 2008 primary campaign both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were touting their healthcare reform ideas. Mrs. Clinton’s included an individual mandate while Mr. Obama’s did not.
In fact that was a major point of emphasis when the two debated the issue but as we all know once he got into the White House his plan changed and he determined healthcare reform needed to include the mandate after all.
So what changed? Barack Obama met Jonathan Gruber.
Video: Special Report shows the real connection between Jonathan Gruber, the Democrats, and the mainstream media on Obamacare
In the wake of the Jonathan Gruber “the stupidity of the American voter” scandal and the deception the Obama regime pulled on the American people in order to pass Obamacare the Democrats have been trying to distance themselves from the man who is considered to be the architect of the law.
Of course we all know this is a fallacy and an outright lie and here is a video which highlights the incestuous relationship between Jonathan Gruber, the Democratic party, and the mainstream media.
White House to GOP on climate change: “I don’t believe they can stop us”
It is becoming quite obvious that Barack Obama does not give a damn that the American people rejected his agenda in the mid-term election.
After suffering such an historic defeat at the ballot box most people would feel a little humbled but not this president. Instead he is angered by what he feels, to quote Jonathan Gruber, is the stupidity of the American voter and he has decided to double down to show us who is in charge. It is quite infantile, yet dangerous, if you ask me but what would you expect from somebody who is used to getting everything he wants through his entire life?
Barack Obama has made the decision to rule by dictate: We already know that he is going to move forward on amnesty on his own and now it is being reported that he had a message for the Republicans on climate change–try to stop me.

In 2006 Barack Obama admitted to stealing ideas from Jonathan Gruber
I promised myself that I would make tonight a Gruber-free night but another video has surfaced–this time from Barack Obama–which had to be discussed.
Last week Barack Obama tried to distance himself from the Obamacare architect by trying to paint Jonathan Gruber as just some dude who happened to possibly have some input in the healthcare law but was not deeply involved in crafting the legislation.
Barack Obama tries to distance himself from Jonathan Gruber
The confrontation was inevitable and the result was predictable: Barack Obama was asked about Jonathan Gruber’s comments and the president tried to distance himself.
Here is more:
“The fact that an adviser who was never on our staff expressed an opinion that I completely disagree with in terms of the voters is not a reflection on the actual process that was run,” Obama declared at a press conference here, speaking for the first time about the comments by MIT economist Jonathan Gruber.
Technically Barack Obama is right, Jonathan Gruber was not a member of his staff, but he was not just some dude who played an ancillary role in crafting Obamacare either, as the president would apparently like to have us believe.
Open thread for Sunday, November 16th: Hell/Zoot Suit Riot
Here is the open thread for Sunday, November 16th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
This was a busy week at America’s Watchtower as we discussed another 18 topics, largely due to Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber. Did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure you do not miss another post. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.
In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.
The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!?
I am going to throw a major curve-ball at you guys with week’s two-for musical selection. If you listened to alternative radio as I did in the early ’90’s you might remember that there was a brief revival of swing/jazz music.
There were two bands back then who probably were the prime benefactors–The Squirrel Nut Zippers and The Cherry Poppin’ Daddies–so here is ‘Hell’ by the former and ‘Zoot Suit Riot’ from the latter.

Gary Sinise accepts Veterans Advocacy award
While Hollywood has been infested with liberals it must not be forgotten that there are some exceptions to the rule. Most of the conservatives in Hollywood remain silent because to do otherwise would be to hammer a nail in the coffin of their careers. The Hollywood elitists are not as tolerant as they would have us believe–at least when it comes to conservatism.
Gary Sinise is one such exception: From what I have been able to gather on the internet he leans Republican. This does not, as is evidenced by Republican leadership, mean that he is a conservative. I do not know where he stands on many issues but if I had to guess he probably has libertarian leanings and to be honest that would fall in line with my beliefs.
But that is neither here nor there for there is one thing that cannot be denied about Gary Sinise: He is the leading voice in Hollywood for our veterans. He has dedicated much of his free time to veteran affairs and yesterday he was honored for his work when he accepted the Charles Durning Patriotism Award.

Jonathan Gruber in 2010: “If I am out there saying things which are blatantly untrue my colleagues won’t respect me”
I know some of you are probably getting Grubered-out at this point but the video I am about to share with you is priceless in the wake of the revelations from the past week.
Back in 2010 Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber talked about the role the academia played in crafting the legislation. He claimed that because the academia was so interested in protecting their reputations that they would police themselves better than if outside influences were writing the law. You can trust them, the intelligentsia is not like the others…
Here is what he said:
Melissa Francis claims CNBC would not allow her to criticize Obamacare
Melissa Francis has a show on Fox Business News and on her show last night she had something interesting to say about her last employer–CNBC.
She claims that after being critical of Obamacare she was called into the office and told she was “disrespecting the office of the president”
What did she say that was so controversial to the heads of the network?
Here is what she is claiming:
Jonathan Gruber admits to “mislabeling” the Cadillac tax in a 6th video
CNN has written an article about a 6th Jonathan Gruber video which has surfaced and this one relates once again to the deception used to pass the Cadillac tax. (I thought there were only four known previous videos but let that go.)
In this latest video he talks about how “mislabeling” the Cadillac tax to make it appear as if the insurers paid the tax and not the insured allowed the regime to pass the tax.
Here is more:
“It turns out politically it’s really hard to get rid of,” Gruber said. “And the only way we could get rid of it was first by mislabeling it, calling it a tax on insurance plans rather than a tax on people when we all know it’s a tax on people who hold those insurance plans.”
