Racist Harry Reid strikes again: cracks Asian jokes at an event
At a recent event in front of an Asian audience Harry Reid decided to use the opportunity to crack a couple of racist Asian jokes.
Here is what he said:
“I don’t think you’re smarter than anybody else, but you’ve convinced a lot of us you are,”
Later, before walking off stage, Reid quipped: “One problem that I’ve had today is keeping my Wongs straight.”
Besides not being funny these comments may have hurt the Democrats: the group that he was speaking to decided not to support the candidate Harry Reid is backing for Lieutenant Governor, instead supporting the Republican opponent. This is probably why he felt the need to apologize:
Latest New Hampshire poll (08/21/14) shows Scott Brown within two points of Jeanne Shaheen
It is finally starting to get interesting around here as the Summer begins to slowly wind down and the election season starts to heat up. Last week a poll was released in New Hampshire which showed that both Democratic Representatives might be in trouble.
That poll showed Carol Shea-Porter actually behind her likely Republican challenger by 4 points, while Ann Kuster only enjoyed a 3 point lead over Marilinda Garcia.
And today a new poll was released which shows that the carpetbagger, Scott Brown, is now only 2 points behind Jeanne Shaheen.
Back in early June I wrote about Barack Obama calling Dianne Feinstein to apologize to her for not notifying the Congress about the Bowe Bergdahl prisoner exchange.
The President is supposed to notify the Congress about prisoner exchanges at least 30 days before they take place so Barack Obama and the Department of Defense, acting on his behalf, broke the law by not notifying them. Barack Obama saw things a little differently: he defended this action by saying that because he had mentioned for months that a swap for Bowe Bergdahl might eventually happen he did not have to give them any additional official notification.
Today the Government Accountability Office released a report which states that the Department of Defense was in violation of the law for not notifying the Congress.
It has been quite a long time since there has been anything to write about Fast and Furious. In fact since Eric Holder ran to Barack Obama and begged the president to use Executive Privilege to seal the documents which I believe show the upper level of the Obama regime to have been complicit in the scandal the investigation has been dead for all intents and purposes.
But today Darrell Issa, and all those who want to learn the truth about the scandal which left Brian Terry and Jamie Zapata dead, won a small victory.

Grand Juror during the Rick Perry investigation is a delegate for the Texas Democratic Party convention
This is certainly an interesting little twist into Rick Perry’s indictment on two felony charges for coercion and abuse of power; one of the Jurors who voted to indict Rick Perry is a delegate for the Texas Democratic Party convention.
Rho Chalmers, who disclosed to the Houston Chronicle yesterday that she was a member of the grand jury that indicted Texas Gov. Rick Perry, was an active delegate to the Texas Democratic Party convention during grand jury proceedings.
Of course she claims this did not influence her decision:
Latest New Hampshire poll shows tight races for both House seats
New Hampshire has two seats in the United States House of Representatives and both are held by Democrats at this time, but the latest New Hampshire poll shows that both could be in trouble.
Here are the results from the First District, which just happens to be my District:
Republican Frank Guinta leads Democratic Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, 45 to 41 percent and Shea-Porter leads Republican Dan Innis 44 to 37 percent. The poll has a margin of error of 4.9 percent.
Earlier today Rick Perry turned himself in and was booked for two felony charges for allegedly abusing his power and for coercion for using a veto to demand the resignation of the head of the Texas public integrity unit after she was convicted of, and spent time in jail for, drunk driving.
As I have said in my previous posts about this issue: Rick Perry was justified in calling for her resignation and in a just world she would have obliged, however this was probably not a wise way to force the issue.
According to the New York Times Barack Obama held a meeting in June about the situation in Iraq and during this meeting Harry Reid took the opportunity to discuss the Republicans holding up Barack Obama’s ambassador nominees. According to the same article the president responded “You and Mitch work it out.”
This reported did not sit well with Harry Reid, who apparently “seethed” for the rest of the meeting:
With Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader, sitting a few feet away, Mr. Reid complained that Senate Republicans were spitefully blocking the confirmation of dozens of Mr. Obama’s nominees to serve as ambassadors. He expected that the president would back him up and urge Mr. McConnell to relent.
Mr. Obama quickly dismissed the matter.
“You and Mitch work it out,” Mr. Obama said coolly, cutting off any discussion.
Mr. Reid seethed quietly for the rest of the meeting, according to four separate accounts provided by people who spoke with him about it. After his return to the Capitol that afternoon, Mr. Reid told other senators and his staff members that he was astonished by how disengaged the president seemed. After all, these were Mr. Obama’s own ambassadors who were being blocked by Mr. McConnell, and Secretary of State John Kerry had been arguing for months that getting them installed was an urgent necessity for the administration.
The White House responded to this story by stating the following:
Missouri Governor calls in the National Guard to Ferguson
By now everyone who has been following the situation in Ferguson in the wake of the police shooting of Michael Brown is aware that Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has called in the National Guard in an attempt to restore order in the city.
Since the National Guard has been called up I have seen several posts on Facebook about Martial Law and posse comitatus but these people are thinking on an emotional level and not on a level grounded in the law or the Constitution. I have been critical of the militarized police force so you might find it interesting to learn I support calling in the National Guard at this point.
Before we go any further we must look at both the definition of the militia in the United States code as well as its role as defined in the Constitution.
