House Republicans are trying to slip an amnesty amendment into a national defense bill
America’s Watchtower has covered the NDAA, and some of its more controversial components, in the past but as if the legislation were not bad enough already the House Republicans are moving to make it even worse by inserting an amendment into a re-authorization bill which would provide a limited amnesty provision.
This amendment would allow illegal aliens who join the military to gain permanent legal residency. I have mixed feelings on whether or not illegal immigrants who join the military should be granted amnesty but I will get to that point shortly. Read more…
While touting the unconfirmed claim that 7 million Americans have signed up for Obamacare–and while ignoring the fact that 6 million Americans have lost their healthcare coverage and many were forced to sign up for Obamacare, which means that seven million Americans who did not previously have healthcare insurance did not become insured for the first time–Nancy Pelosi dodged the question about whether or not Democrats should run on the law she is so proud of in the 2014 election.

Benghazi: CIA officer in Libya told his superiors there was no protest before Susan Rice lied to the American people
This story does not tell us anything we did not already know but it is noteworthy anyway because it confirms what many of us have known for a long time. The attack in Benghazi did not grow out of a spontaneous protest as were were told, and either the CIA or the Obama regime apparently purposely downplayed the role al-Qaeda had in the attack.
The CIA official on the ground in Libya has stated that one day before Susan Rice made her now infamous rounds on the Sunday talk show he informed his superior, Michael Morell, that the attack had nothing to do with any protest because there weren’t any protests. Much has been written, and rightfully so, about the civil war which is brewing within the Republican party between the establishment Republicans and the Tea Party. New report claims ICE released 68,000 illegal aliens who have committed additional crimes
Late last night the Department of Homeland Security released the results of an internal investigation, which according to this story, states that ICE released 68,000 illegal aliens who have committed crimes in addition to entering the country illegally.
The report, provided to Breitbart News ahead of its late Sunday evening release, reviews internal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) metrics to conclude that the Obama administration released 35 percent—or 68,000—convicted criminal aliens back into the U.S. general population when they could have been deported. “The criminal alien releases typically occur without formal notice to local law enforcement agencies and victims,” CIS’s Jessica Vaughan, the report’s author, added.
While that is bad enough in and of itself the number is most likely even higher than this because this report did not include illegal aliens who committed traffic violations, including driving while under the influence and vehicular homicide: Read more…
Ex-Romney donors flock to Jeb Bush
It looks as if the push is underway, according to this article, by major establishment backers and ex-Romney donors (but I repeat myself) to get Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential primary race.
Bush was in Las Vegas this week meeting with Sheldon Adelson, and, according to the Post, “many if not most of 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney’s major donors are reaching out to Bush and his confidants with phone calls, e-mails and invitations to meet.” One bundler even said that a “vast majority” of “Romney’s top 100 donors would back Bush.”
Mike Murphy, who advised Mitt Romney and John McCain, and whom the article describes as “one of the most anti-conservative talking heads on television despite never having won a national election,” had this to say about the state of the Republican party today: Read more…

According to a new poll released by WPA Research Rand Paul and, surprisingly in my opinion, Mike Huckabee are tied in the race to become the GOP’s nominee for president in 2016.
Paul and Huckabee each receive 13% in a new WPA Research poll that was released on Saturday. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is third at 9%, and embattled New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is tied with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) in fourth with 9%.
Clearly there is no front-runner here and some would claim this proves a crowded field proves there are many strong candidates while others would claim this proves there is no singularly strong candidate–only time will tell.

Last week was not a good week for Democrats at the State level with four indictments being handed down. America’s Watchtower did not cover those stories but there is one in particular that is so ironic it can be ignored no longer and that is the story of Leland Yee, the California Democratic State Senator, who was arrested for arms trafficking.
Leland Yee just happens to be a gun control advocate who has voted several times to deny Californians their second amendment rights and who sponsored a bill to ban assault weapons in the state of California.

House leaders push through ‘doc fix’ bill on a voice vote while conservatives were not on the floor
According to this article the House leadership (the establishment Republicans) used a voice vote via a temporary “suspension of the rules” in order to push through the “doc fix” Medicare expansion bill while very few members were actually on the House Floor to vote.
This was apparently done with the intent of silencing the conservative Republicans’ opposition to the legislation and the vote took approximately 30 seconds according to the story.
The establishment Republicans are defending this by claiming the bill would have passed anyway but of course we will never know for sure because of the rule suspension. If this is true why was this backhanded measure used in the first place if the votes were there? The establishment Republicans claimed that there was some deadline which must be met but I am not buying it and neither are the conservatives in the House who saw their voices silenced.
