Homeland Security raids reporter’s house and confiscates her confidential papers

October 25, 2013

According to this story the Department of Homeland Security raided the house of  Audrey Hudson–an investigative journalist–with a search warrant for weapons and ammunition because her husband was convicted of resisting arrest in 1986.

A search warrant obtained by TheDC indicates that the August raid allowed law enforcement to search for firearms inside her home.

The document notes that her husband, Paul Flanagan, was found guilty in 1986 to resisting arrest in Prince George’s County. The warrant called for police to search the residence they share and seize all weapons and ammunition because he is prohibited under the law from possessing firearms.

So in 2013 DHS raids her house for a crime which was committed in 1986? Doesn’t that seem a little odd to you that all of a sudden they decided this house needed to be investigated? Why is that? Well, perhaps we can gain a clue by looking at what else DHS made off with: Read more…

Democrats try to blame the Obamcare roll-out failure on the government shutdown

October 25, 2013

The Democrats purposely orchestrated the government shutdown by refusing to negotiate with the conservative wing of the Republican party over Obamacare. They shut down the government for one reason and one reason only; they thought they could blame the Republicans for the shutdown and ride this issue to victory in the 2014 midterm election.

Naturally the mainstream media was more than willing to help them along with this plan but then something happened; the shutdown ended and the failure of the Obamacare roll-out was too magnificent to ignore so the focus quickly shifted from the shutdown to the problems with the healthcare exchange website.

This naturally presented the Democrats with a problem because if these problems persist it could be an issue in the 2014 election when the big issue was supposed to be about how the Republicans shut down the government over their ideological opposition to Obamacare. The Democrats want the focus to be on the government shutdown.

Senate Democrat will introduce a bill to delay the Obamacare individual mandate

October 23, 2013

It is now being reported in this story that Senate Democrat Joe Manchin is preparing draft legislation which will postpone the individual mandate and it just so happens that every single Democratic Senator who is up for reelection next year support a delay in the implementation of the mandate. Funny how that works, isn’t it?

Obamacare: Barack Obama asked Blue Cross to hide its enrollment numbers

October 23, 2013

ministry_of_propaganda One of the questions which has been asked by members of the media to various officials within the Obama regime is, how many people have actually been able to enroll in the healthcare exchange?

Not one single person who was asked this question was either willing–or able–to answer that question and now we may know why.

It is being reported in this story that the most open and honest administration in the history of the United States contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield in North Dakota and asked them not to release the abysmal numbers: Read more…

The TSA is gathering personal information on millions of United States flyers

October 22, 2013

As if violating millions of Americans’ fourth amendment rights and being treated like a common criminal if you have the audacity to travel was not bad enough we are now learning in this story that the TSA is pre-screening millions of American flyers by accessing their private information:

The Transportation Security Administration is expanding its screening of passengers before they arrive at the airport by searching a wide array of government and private databases that can include records like car registrations and employment information.

It is unclear precisely what information the agency is relying upon to make these risk assessments, given the extensive range of records it can access, including tax identification number, past travel itineraries, property records, physical characteristics, and law enforcement or intelligence information.

The TSA is now gathering tax information, as well as property and car registration records, and your criminal background and naturally they are defending this policy by claiming they are trying to make it easier to fly for those who pose no threat to the United States. In other words, they are doing this for our own good. I seem to remember a famous Ben Franklin quote about giving up liberty for security.

Do you still feel as if you have any privacy rights left whatsoever under the rule of Barack Obama? If you are a woman and you are seeking an abortion you have the right to privacy, to everyone else I say; buyer beware. Big Brother is watching…..

Obamacare: Healthcare.gov crashed during a test days before launching

October 22, 2013

It is clear that the Obama regime has released its talking points on the healthcare exchange website for we have heard the same line of defense from the left over and over again in the two short weeks the exchange has been open, they go like this: There are just a few glitches and this is due to the fact that so many people are interested in signing up for Obamacare. We did not anticipate the level of interest in the exchanges, but this is a good sign because it shows us how popular Obamacare is turning out to be.

In order for us to believe that the interest in the website is a good thing we have to ignore the reason why it is so popular in the first place and that is because the government mandated people sign up for insurance. People without insurance have no choice but to visit the website or face the wrath of the IRS. The government forced a nation of 300 million people to purchase healthcare and then underestimated how many people would visit the site? Not very likely if you ask me.

But let us take them at their word for the purpose of this post: If all this unexpected traffic is responsible for the website’s problems how it the Obama regime going to explain this news?

Obamacare: Barack Obama talks about website “glitches”

October 21, 2013

Earlier today Barack Obama went into damage control when he held an Obamacare rally in the Rose Garden. During this event he defended the policy by claiming it was a “good deal” for the American people.

He went on to say that the fact that the Obamacare website has already received 20 million unique hits as proof that there is major support for the policy among the American people.

This is a statistic that many on the left have been citing as the reason for the glitches and as proof that the American people support this law. This is the left’s talking point, but what the president and the Democrats are ignoring is the fact that all Americans are forced to purchase healthcare or face the wrath of the IRS so they have no choice but to visit the website and sign up for coverage if the do not already have it.

Are Republicans turning away from immigration reform?

October 21, 2013

In recent months we have seen a growing number of Republicans, from Marco Rubio to Paul Ryan, begin to rally around the idea of immigration reform which included a pathway to citizenship, but now it appears as if support for this idea may be crumbling in the GOP.

The most recent example is from Ted Poe, who previously supported the measure, and what does he cite as the reason for his evolution on this issue? The president’s negotiating tactic of not negotiating during the government shutdown:

The President has proven over the last few weeks that ‘negotiating’ means conservatives must give in and that it’s his way or no way,” Poe said in an email to Breitbart News. “In his opinion, there is no compromise, just intimidation with inflammatory rhetoric. The President is putting his political agenda ahead of what’s best for America

Could it be true that the Republicans have finally learned their lesson after being rolled by Barack Obama and the Democrats during the shutdown? Has it finally occurred to them that Barack Obama is only interested in taking and not giving during debate on an issue? If so, maybe their is a silver lining to be taken from the debate over the continuing resolution and the debt ceiling.

I am not holding my breath however because I trust the Republican leadership only slightly more than I trust Barack Obama. They talk a good game but are they really willing to back it up?

Ted Cruz is receiving threats on Twitter

October 20, 2013

According to this story the police are investigating a man for leaving threatening posts on Twitter. The man allegedly posted Ted Cruz’s home address on Twitter several times and urged somebody to take  him down at home.

Does anyone really find this surprising considering the hate-filled, incendiary, and inflammatory rhetoric which has been used by the leaders of the Democratic party, the MSM, and even some of the establishment Republicans?

Ted Cruz, and those who support him, have been called extremists, radicals, hostage takers, extortionists, arsonists, and terrorists with bombs strapped to their chests while holding a gun to the heads of the president and the American people. Most recently Steve Cohen of Tennessee called people who oppose the president “domestic enemies” of the country, highlighting once and for all what the left truly feels about anyone who has the gall not to fall in line with the Dear Leader’s agenda.

Representative Steve Cohen calls the Tea Party “domestic enemies” while misrepresenting the oath of office

October 19, 2013

I cannot recall another time in my lifetime when there was such an effort by a political party to criminalize opposition to the president. The Tea Party has been called hostage takers, terrorists with bombs strapped to their chests, extortionists, arsonists, extremists, and the list goes on and on. What is this hateful rhetoric if it is not an attempt to silence all opposition to the president and create what amounts to one party rule?

The latest Democrat to try to criminalize the Tea Party is Representative Steve Cohen from Tennessee. This is what he had to say:

“But I know some of the members there — and a lot of those members — they’re rabid, they’re sophomoric, literally, they’re second term in Congress, never worked in politics before, and they think they are somehow like — it’s all talked in military terms. They think they’re some kind of guerrillas there to strike a blow for freedom

The implication here is clear: Career politicians are good while the whole idea of a citizen legislature is something to be abhorred. This, of course, is contrary to the very founding of this nation because the founders believed that citizens could govern themselves, in fact that is the whole premise behind the constitution and our founding.

It is interesting to note at this point that people like Steve Cohen see the Tea Party as guerrilla fighters who are fighting against the government but these same people refer to al Qaeda fighters as freedom fighters and not terrorists, but I digress.

But he doesn’t stop there, he continues: Read more…
