Harry Reid delays Senate vote on attacking Syria
Harry Reid had set a test vote on supporting al-Qaeda in Syria for, ironically, September 11th. The timing of this vote, in my opinion, was disgusting. Here we are about to vote on supporting the same group which attacked America on this date in 2001 and again in 2012 in Benghazi. And, as we learned here, the group that attacked the consulate in Benghazi is actually training the Syrian rebels. The whole thing stinks to high heaven! And I cannot even begin to describe how much this situation sickens me.

Syrian rebels capture Christian village, demand conversion or death
Just last week John McCain tried to convince us that the al-Qaeda rebels in Syria were moderates, here is what he had to say:
Of course they’re Muslims. But they’re moderates, and I guarantee you they are moderates. I know them and I’ve been with them.
This is John McCain’s “I looked into Putin’s eyes” moment, does he really think they would show their true colors while meeting with him? After all, the Nazis put on a good face for the 1936 Olympics, as did Beijing in 2008, but that was just camouflage and nobody can deny the evils endured under these brutal regimes. Naturally the al-Qaeda rebels would put on a good face if they want to have any hope of drawing the United States into the war on their behalf.
It has been awhile (almost one year) since America’s Watchtower has covered the scam known as Barack Obama’s green energy initiative but that does not mean it has gone away, it has simply been eclipsed by various other scandals.
For those who have either forgotten or were not aware, as part of the stimulus plan the Federal Government was handing out millions upon millions of dollars in loans to companies under the Obama regime’s green energy initiative. It just so happened that these companies had ties to Democrat operatives, and most have since either filed for bankruptcy or are just barely hanging on. The list is extensive: to date we have A123, Solar Trust, SoloPower, Enir1, BrightSource, Abengoa, SunPower, LightSquared, Tesla, Fisker, and Beacon Power all receiving stimulus loans which will never be recovered by the taxpayer who footed the bill for these failed companies.
But this is the gift that keeps on giving and today we are learning about the latest green energy initiative failure. Read more…
Benghazi: Whistleblower claims he was punished for testifying in front of the Congress
Do you remember during the 2004 election when John Kerry said it was important that people “speak truth to Power?” I certainly do, here is what he said:
After serving in war, I returned home to offer my own personal voice of dissent. I did so because I believed strongly that we owed it those risking their lives to speak truth to power. We still do.
And do you remember when Hillary Clinton said that we all have the right to stand up and debate any administration? I remember this as well, here is what she said all those years ago:
“I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.”
Apparently, with a Democrat holding the presidency, this is no longer the case. Now it is a punishable offense, just ask Greg Hicks. Mister Hicks was a high level United States official in Libya who testified before the Congress after obtaining whisleblower status about what he knew about the attack which left Chris Stevens, (after being sodomized), Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, and Tyrone Woods dead.

For my musical selection I had intended to use something more controversial, but Syria will still be an issue next week so perhaps I will use it then. Well, at least in these parts the weather is turning. The nights are getting quite cold and the days are not as hot, so I have decided to post a song by The Cure from the underrated ‘Bloodflowers’ CD entitled ‘The Last Day of Summer.’
The ‘Bloodflowers’ CD was the followup to the much maligned ‘Wild Mood Swings.’ While ‘Wild Mood Swings’ had many clunkers there were also some wonderful songs on it. But the band rebounded and silenced the critics who thought their best days were behind them with the release of ‘Bloodflowers.’ ‘Bloodflowers’ is one of my favorite Cure CDs and they have failed to come even close to reproducing such a strong effort in either of their followup attempts.
‘The Last day of Summer’ is a beautiful yet desperate song of love lost and dreams unfulfilled and I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have since its release in 2000.

Senate Committee members who voted in favor of attacking Syria received 83% more money from defense contractors than those who voted against it
As you are all well aware, last week the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs voted by a 10-7 margin to approve Barack Obama’s plan to attack Syria, sending the resolution to the Senate floor for a final up or down vote.
It just so happens, according to this article, that the ten members of the committee who voted in favor of this resolution just happened to receive 83% more money from defense contractors than did the seven members who voted against the resolution: Read more…
With support for Barack Obama’s plan to bomb Syria falling apart in the Congress it is now being reported that he is trying to link Syria to Iran in order to scare the Congress into supporting his plan.
That is not a stretch by any imagination for Iran has already promised to attack Israel if the United States bombs Syria, Iran and Syria are linked, but I thought I would use this opportunity to take a look at what Barack Obama said about Iran in 2008:
In 2008 Barack Obama said that Iran was a tiny country which posed no threat to the United States but today, if this story is true, he is trying to use Iran to help make the case that we need to attack Syria to show that there really are American interests at stake in Syria.
So either Barack Obama was lying in 2008, he is lying in 2013, or he allowed Iran to become a major threat to the United States on his watch.
Is Barack Obama beginning to soften his stance on Syria?
Having failed to win over the international community, and with opposition growing in the House and with the American people (read the electorate) it seems as if Barack Obama may be slowly backing down from his decision to bomb Syria.
