An IRS employee illegally accessed Christine O’Donnell’s tax records while she was running for the Senate

July 18, 2013

Two days ago we learned that the IRS was improperly scrutinizing the tax records of at least four political candidates and/or donors (This is what they are admitting to at this point, I think we will learn it was much more extensive as time goes on) and today we might just have learned who one of the victims was.

Shortly after announcing her decision to run for the Senate a tax lien was put on a house which the IRS thought belonged to Tea Party favorite Christine O’Donnell. Needless to say the left ran with this in an effort to paint O’Donnell as a tax cheat but there was one problem–she no longer owned the house so the lien was removed and chalked up to a computer glitch. But the damage was done and the left scored a victory. Move along, nothing to see here.

Except there is something to see here.

The DREAM Act is being used to free violent criminals

July 18, 2013

House Republican leadership is beginning to coalesce around the DREAM Act: John Boehner has given the idea a thumbs up, calling it “basic fairness,” and Eric Cantor has called it the “compassionate” thing to do.

The typical line that supporters of the DREAM Act use over and over again goes something like this: We should not punish those who came to this country as babies through no fault of their own and have committed no crimes since their arrival.

That is all very well and good, and I could almost go along with it, but what happens when you have a corrupt, banana republic-like regime with a total lack of respect for the laws running the country? That is a different story altogether, but that is what we have, so when Barack Obama issued an Executive Order which granted defacto amnesty to illegal aliens and followed it up with another that implemented the DREAM Act, basically undoing the immigration laws on the books with two swipes of the pen, we knew bad things were going to follow. We just did not know how bad.

We learned shortly thereafter that if an illegal alien was arrested all he or she had to do was claim they were protected by the DREAM Act and  ICE was forced to let them go regardless of whether or not the person had proof to back up the claim.

IRS employees were ordered to send Tea Party applications to an Obama appointee for approval before the 2012 election

July 17, 2013

When the IRS targeting scandal first broke we were assured by the Obama regime that this was an isolated incident and, much like we heard about Operation Fast and Furious, the work of rogue agents Ohio acting on their own and not at the direction of higher ups in the corrupt organization.

However this was shown to be a lie when the rogue agents who supposedly acted on their own, and whom the Obama regime intended to make the fall guys, testified under oath that they were following orders from above.

Then came the curious case of Lois Lerner: When called upon by the Congress to testify on the IRS scandal she invoked her fifth amendment right and refused to testify on the grounds that she cannot be compelled to incriminate herself while claiming she did nothing wrong. She is now in the process of trying to gain immunity in return for her testimony.

While I do not have any problem whatsoever with Lois Lerner for invoking a right guaranteed in the constitution when you couple it with her quest for immunity it does make one wonder if she has something to hide, and if so what is she trying to hide?

Man arrested for taking Joe Biden’s advice on self-defense

July 17, 2013

A man was arrested after firing a shotgun in the air in order to ward off two potential car intruders. The warning shots worked but he has been charged with illegally aiming or discharging a firearm.

You may remember that not too long ago when the Congress was trying to usurp the second amendment rights of law abiding American citizens by exploiting the Sandy Hook school shootings that this was precisely the advice Joe Biden admitted at a Town Hall meeting that he told his wife, Jill, was the best means of self-defense. Here is what Joe Biden said back then:

I said, Jill, if there’s ever a problem just walk out on the balcony here or walk out, put that double-barreled shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house,” Biden said. “I promise you who ever is coming in is not go — you don’t need an AR-15

Jeffery Barton has pleaded not guilty to the charges citing Joe Biden’s advice:

I did what Joe Biden told me to do,” Barton told KOIN. “I went outside and fired my shotgun in the air

I think the gun charges against Mr. Barton should be dropped, however I believe he should he heavily fined for taking anything that Joe Biden has ever said seriously. Listening to Joe Biden was more irresponsible than firing the warning shots.

Democrat Luis Gutierrez calls for a House hearing on the Zimmerman verdict

July 16, 2013

More and more politicians are beginning to speak out against the Zimmerman verdict, sticking their noses in where they do not belong and further inflaming the public and stoking the flames of racial tension in the nation, all the while providing what the rioters see as justification for the increase in violence. (Which the politicians are ignoring.)

If truth be told these politicians do not give a damn about the life or the death of Trayvon Martin, all they see is a high profile case which the likes of Eric Holder has called an “opportunity” the government should not let pass:

I believe that this tragedy provides yet another opportunity for our nation to speak honestly about the complicated and emotionally-charged issues that this case has raised.  We must not – as we have too often in the past – let this opportunity pass

An interesting choice of words, don’t you think? Of course he is talking about exploiting the death of this young man to push his anti-second amendment agenda, because that is all he is really concerned about.

But Eric Holder is not alone and today, not willing to accept the fact that George Zimmerman was acquitted by a jury of his peers,  Democratic Representative Luis Gutierrez has called for a House investigation into the shooting of Trayvon Martin.

His statement is so full of misnomers and untruths that I feel compelled to break it down piece by piece. Here is what he had to say in calling for an investigation: Read more…

The IRS was improperly scrutinizing the tax returns of political candidates and donors

July 16, 2013

Once the IRS admitted the agency inappropriately targeted conservative groups before the 2012 election it was only a matter of time before we learned the scandal went even deeper, and today we have.

The Treasury Department has admitted the IRS improperly scrutinized the records of some political candidates and donors and this was been going on since 2006.

The now discredited agency is only admitting to the “unauthorized access or disclosure of tax records of political donors or candidates” of four people at this point, as well as the possibility that two political candidates were improperly targeted for audit but would you be surprised if this went deeper? The NSA spying scandal started out small but grew to the point where we learned that they were also targeting military leaders (David Petraeus?), members of the Congress, and at least one Justice who is now sitting on the Supreme Court. (Could this explain why Chief Justice Roberts changed his Obamacare vote at the last minute?) I expect the same to be learned here before all is said and done.

There is no mention of who the victims were or of what party affiliation they hold, but I think we know the answer to the latter based on what organizations the agency has already admitted to inappropriately targeting in the recent past.

Before the 2012 election Harry Reid admitted that he knew people who had seen Mitt Romney’s tax returns for the last ten years and he used this information to smear the presidential hopeful. The one question which should have been on everyone’s mind at that time was not how much did Mitt Romney pay in taxes, but rather how did Harry Reid find out? Now we may know the answer to that question but unfortunately Eric Holder has decided that this is not worthy of an investigation.

Obamacare: Bars and restaurants shifting full time employees into part time positions

July 15, 2013

There is a growing trend in the service industries which America’s Watchtower has covered in the past and that is the cutting of full time employees hours down to part time status in order to avoid the now delayed Obamacare penalties.

And now it looks like that trend will continue. It is even worse for the employees who are now making less money than before for not only will they be the ones paying the penalty for not buying a product they cannot afford but in the Federal Government’s infinite wisdom they redefined full time employees as those employees working 30+ hours for the purpose of Obamacare.

This means that people who were full time employees working 40+ hours are going to see their hours cut to under 30 hours and they will still face the prospect of paying the Obamacare fine even though they are losing over 10 hours per week in many cases.

Somebody needs to explain to this simpleton how the Affordable Care Act has made healthcare more affordable to these people who were not making much money in the first place for I feel I must just be too stupid to understand it.

Harry Reid on the Zimmerman verdict: “this isn’t over with”

July 14, 2013

The sixth amendment of the Constitution grants all Americans the right to a speedy trial by a jury of his or her peers. George Zimmerman was afforded this right and he was found not guilty by a jury of his peers.

I understand that there are many people out there who feel as if justice was not served because George Zimmerman was allowed to walk away after killing Trayvon Martin but the fact is that there was simply not enough evidence to rule beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman did not act in self-defense so the verdict was the only one which could be reached. The system worked in this case whether or not you agree with the outcome.

But because the left turned this into a political issue before the election the result is unacceptable to many people within the Federal Government. Harry Reid offers us the perfect example of this when he claimed that while he “supports the system” the Federal Government is not through with this case.

He expects, as do I, the Department of Injustice to investigate this case to see if Federal charges can be brought forth against George Zimmerman. I fully expect the Department of Injustice to drum up more charges against George Zimmerman, probably on the lines of this being a hate crime, so while Harry Reid claims to support the system nothing could be further from the truth. And he is not alone.

We are living is scary times when the Federal Government does not support the Constitution or the verdict rendered in a criminal State trial. These people will stop at nothing to accomplish their goals and what rights do we really have if the Federal Government decides on its own that the verdict rendered by a jury of a person’s peers should be null and void because the Federal Government disagrees with it for purely political reasons?

George Zimmerman found not guilty of second degree murder

July 14, 2013

This morning we woke up to the news that the jury has acquitted George Zimmerman on both second degree murder and manslaughter–he is a free man. While this shows us that you still do have the right to defend yourself in the United States I am very concerned with the way this whole thing went down and I will lay out my reasons now.

Back when everyone thought that George Zimmerman was a white dude Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Barack Obama involved themselves in the story. We all know why race baiters such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton became involved in this case, but why did Barack Obama stick his nose in where it did not belong?

The answer to that question is obvious to me as well: It was shortly before the election and Barack Obama was running a divisive campaign where his strategy was to pit rich against poor, gay against straight, man against woman, and black against white and he saw an opportunity in the Zimmerman/Martin case to further this narrative so he made a political calculation without a thought about the lives involved in this case.
