Barack Obama secretly convenes the Ministry of Propaganda to spin Obamacare implementation

July 13, 2013

With the full implementation of Obamacare (at least the parts which haven’t been conveniently delayed until after the 2014 election) quickly approaching more and more people are starting to admit–including the author of the legislation, Max Baucus–that Obamacare is going to be a train wreck. With this in mind and amid growing concerns about the politically corrupt IRS charged with being Obamacare’s gestapo the time for our political leaders in Washington to act is now!

Obamacare is never going to be repealed but there is still time to correct some of what is wrong with the legislation before it goes into effect at the end of the year. However, we cannot expect the Republicans to act on this because, as I have written before, the Republicans are not interested in doing anything about Obamacare, they are only interested in making it appear as if they are doing something because they want Obamacare to be implemented so they can run against it in 2014 and 2016. Janet Napolitano resigns abruptly from the DHS

July 12, 2013

Today America’s Watchtower is saddened by the news that Janet Napolitano has decided to resign as head of the Department of Homeland Security in order to take a lucrative position in the California school system so that she can “play a role in educating our nation’s next generation of leaders” bringing to an end her glorious and distinguished career. She is the highest level Obama regime official to resign amid all the burgeoning scandals.

Rather than lament the loss of this great lady I thought it would be more proper to list all of her accomplishments while she was at the head of the Department of Homeland Security. I apologize for not providing all the links, but if I do America’s Watchtower could be caught by the WordPress spam filter and could be off-line for awhile (it has happened before) but I have written about all of this in the past so you can search America’s Watchtower and you should be able to find the links.

Barack Obama orders Federal employees to spy on each other

July 10, 2013

Obama-Big-brotherLate last night news broke that back in October 2011 issued an Executive Order which created the  Insider Threat Program. This is a program which basically orders Federal employees–including some agencies which have nothing to do with national security–to spy on their co-workers and report them for certain behaviors. Failure on the part of a Federal employee to comply with this order could lead to termination.

This program asks employees to report such suspicious behaviors as internet usage and foreign travel as well as employees who are working additional hours. It also asks employees to report fellow employees’ lifestyles and considers people who are going through divorces to be a risk.

Obamacare: House moves to block the IRS from enforcing the healthcare reform law

July 9, 2013

There is probably no government agency as feared and loathed by the American people on both sides of the aisle as is the Internal Revenue Service, and yet this is the agency charged with implementing and enforcing Obamacare.

In the wake of the IRS targeting scandal I believe that the American peoples’ trust in this agency is at an all time low, even those on the left who are relishing in the fact that conservatives were targeted by the IRS have to be concerned that this same could happen to them if the Republican party does not implode (which I think is going to happen) and someday do send another Republican to the White House.

In the midst of this scandal, and with the mistrust of this agency, and amid concerns about the IRS being the gestapo of the healthcare reform law Eric Cantor is preparing to introduce legislation which would bar the IRS from being the Obamacare enforcement agency.

Illinois legislature overrides veto and will allow concealed carry

July 9, 2013

Chalk one up for the good guys and criminals beware in Illinois! Today the State legislature overrode Governor Pat Quinn’s veto and in six months law abiding citizens who pass a background check and complete a 16 hour gun safety course will be allowed to carry concealed weapons.

This was all brought on by a federal court ruling which declared Illinois gun laws unconstitutional and the state faced a 12:00 tomorrow deadline to pass legislation if they wanted to have any control over the gun laws. Governor Quinn vetoed the bill because he wanted more restrictions on where guns could be carried but with the legislature unable to agree on these restrictions they overrode the veto to ensure there was a law in place prior to the deadline.

Now that there is a law in place and the deadline is not an issue to the gun grabbers anymore, and with six months to go before the new law is in place, this will provide second amendment opponents in Illinois ample time to amend the law before it goes into effect. So, in effect, this amounts to a six month reprieve.

While this is a victory for second amendment proponents we will have to wait and see how complete the victory really is because we do not know at this time what type of restrictions could be passed by the time the law takes effect.

Sources claim the Congress will withhold aid to the Syrian rebels

July 8, 2013

After it was learned that somebody in Syria used chemical weapons–we still have not determined beyond a shadow of a doubt whether it was Bashar al-Assad who used the weapons against the rebels or if it was the rebels who used the weapons against Bashar al-Assad, but that does not seem to matter to the Obama regime–the Obama regime announced its intentions to supply the rebels with weapons to help in the fight against the Syrian president.

Sources are now reporting that the Congress will hold up the aid to the Syrian rebels amidst worries that the weapons will fall into the hands of Islamists. With reports that the Syrian rebels are backed by al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood I would argue that this is the intent of the Obama regime so the worries are justified and this policy must be stopped at all costs!

Whistleblower’s law firm broken into, computers stolen

July 8, 2013

If this story is true it appears as if a law firm which represents at least one high profile whisleblower was broken into multiple times and the thieves made off with computers while leaving behind other high value items, leaving one to think that there was an ulterior motive behind this break in, law firms now a days don’t have the reputation that The Ladan Law Firm has, and that’s something that needs to change.

The offices of a Dallas law firm representing a high-profile State Department whistleblower were broken into last weekend. Burglars stole three computers and broke into the firm’s file cabinets. But silver bars, video equipment and other valuables were left untouched, according to local Fox affiliate KDFW, which aired security camera footage of the suspected burglars entering and leaving the offices around the time of the incident.

The firm Schulman & Mathias represents Aurelia Fedenisn, a former investigator at the State Department’s Office of the Inspector General. In recent weeks, she raised a slew of explosive allegations against the department and its contractors ranging from illicit drug use, soliciting sexual favors from minors and prostitutes and sexual harassment.

I have to admit it seems odd this law firm would have silver bars lying around the office, but if this is the case why did the thieves leave them behind while stealing computers which potentially had information on not only the whistleblowers themselves but also the people who were having the whistle blown on them if it were not to make the evidence disappear?

With confidence in the Obama regime at an all time low on both the left and the right in light of all the scandals engulfing the regime one cannot help but think that this was not simply a random burglary.

Ruled by secrecy: FISA Court now rivals the Supreme Court

July 7, 2013

Change in the air
And they’ll hide everywhere
And no one knows who’s in control

You’re working so hard
And you’re never in charge

Those are partial lyrics from a song by the band Muse entitled ‘Ruled by secrecy’ and when I read this New York Times (yes, New York Times story) story I immediately thought of this song.

It seems as if this controversial and mysterious court has been accumulating power over the years and now actually rivals the Supreme Court on some Constitutional issues.

In more than a dozen classified rulings, the nation’s surveillance court has created a secret body of law giving the National Security Agency the power to amass vast collections of data on Americans while pursuing not only terrorism suspects, but also people possibly involved in nuclear proliferation, espionage and cyberattacks, officials say.

The rulings, some nearly 100 pages long, reveal that the court has taken on a much more expansive role by regularly assessing broad constitutional questions and establishing important judicial precedents, with almost no public scrutiny, according to current and former officials familiar with the court’s classified decisions.

The 11-member Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, known as the FISA court, was once mostly focused on approving case-by-case wiretapping orders. But since major changes in legislation and greater judicial oversight of intelligence operations were instituted six years ago, it has quietly become almost a parallel Supreme Court, serving as the ultimate arbiter on surveillance issues and delivering opinions that will most likely shape intelligence practices for years to come, the officials said.

The FISA court operates in secrecy and yet has seemingly expanded its role to the point where the ‘F’ no longer stands for ‘Foreign’ as this court has recently authorized broad based data mining on virtually all domestic phone calls without a warrant and without a specific threat.

And all of this is happening at a time when the Congress (including many supposed Tea Party members) voted to deem the United States a battlefield on the war on terror through the NDAA, and this act also allows for the detaining of American citizens indefinitely and without charges.

We are entering dangerous times and once again I find myself asking the question, what will it take for the American people to rise up and say enough is enough? I think that process has begun, I just wonder if there is enough time left…..

Open thread for Sunday, July 7th: Fire in Cairo

July 7, 2013

Here is the open thread for Sunday, July 7th; please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues may arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

As always you can follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking on the links to the right, or you can sign up to receive email updates and you will never miss a post again.

This was an exciting week for the New Federalist Party as the platform is now complete! To check out the platform and see what the party stands for please click here, you will be able to view, download, and print the platform.

While this is the official platform as of now it will not be finalized until after it is voted on at the convention, at which time amendments can be introduced and voted on, and that is where you come in. In addition to seeking donations to get the party off the ground we are also now actively seeking delegates to the convention. This will most likely be either a telephone or internet convention so no travel is needed and this could be your chance to have a voice in the final platform.

Now on to the musical selection. With Barack Obama’s foreign policy falling apart right before our eyes, and with Egypt on fire as the people have rejected Barack Obama’s policies this week’s choice was an easy one. Here is an acoustic version of ‘Fire in Cairo’ by The Cure recorded in 1993.

Gunrunner: Weapon linked to Fast and Furious was used to kill a Mexican police chief

July 6, 2013

This is not really a Fast and Furious scandal update, that issue appears to be dead in the Congress, but we have just learned that the weapon used to kill a Mexican police chief has been linked to the scandal.

Back in 2011 Eric Holder stated that weapons related to the Fast and Furious scandal would continue to show up at crime scenes for years to come and today’s news should he a reminder to all Americans exactly how deadly this Obama regime’s policy was and continues to be.
