Obamacare: Harry Reid claims more money needs to be spent on healthcare reform to prevent a train wreck

May 2, 2013

Two weeks ago the author of Obamacare, Max Baucus, admitted he was worried that his legislation could turn into a train wreck while at the same time deflecting the blame away from himself and the legislation by claiming that Kathleen Kathleen Sebelius wasn’t implementing it properly.

Two days ago Harry Reid echoed the concerns of Max Baucus:

Max said unless we implement this properly it’s going to be a train wreck, and I agree with him

However, when Harry Reid talks about implementing Obamacare properly what he is really talking about is spending even more money on this legislation:

Reid warned the federal government is not spending enough money to implement the law Here’s what we have now, we have the menu but we don’t have any way to get to the menu

And I will give you one guess whom Harry Reid is blaming for the impending train wreck.

Benghazi: A whistle-blower claims the United States knows who is responsible for the attack but refuses to bring him to justice

May 1, 2013

According to this story a whistle-blower has come forward and is claiming that the United States knows who is responsible for the terrorist attack in Benghazi on September 11th of last year which left Chris Stevens, Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods, and Sean Smith dead but is unwilling to do anything about it for fear of upsetting people.

The US government knows who organized the Benghazi attack that killed our ambassador and three others and yet he walks freely in Libya today. Why? The whistleblower says “we basically don’t want to upset anybody”

The Obama regime is afraid to bring this man–or men–to justice because he is afraid of inflaming tensions in the Muslim world when his full focus should be on doing what is right by America, her citizens, and the families of those who were killed in the attack. If this is true (and what would the whistle-blower gain by lying about this?) it is nothing but political correctness run amok and it should not be tolerated by any American who wants to see justice served.

Meanwhile an American citizen, who played some role in creating a youtube video which had nothing to do with the attack, is rotting in jail and we are supposed to believe that justice has been served.

Benghazi: Were whistle-blowers threatened by the White House?

May 1, 2013

I have to admit that last week when I heard Trey Gowdy claim that “explosive” new hearings would be held on the terrorist attack in Benghazi on September 11th of last year I was skeptical to say the least. One thing we have learned from the first Benghazi hearings, as well as the Fast and Furious hearings, is that nobody is really going to be held accountable in these scandals so I did not intend to waste my time writing about them.

But now a whistle-blower has come forward and he is revealing some interesting little tidbits about the attack which cannot go ignored. This man’s lawyer is claiming that somebody in the Obama regime has threatened the potential whistle-blowers: Read more…

Boston Marathon bombers received $100,000 in welfare benefits

April 30, 2013

Last week the Boston Herald broke the story that the Boston Marathon bombers were receiving welfare benefits. When he was pressured on this issue Massachusetts Governor–and presidential wannabe and possible Barack Obama Supreme Court nominee–Deval Patrick basically invoked the right to privacy in an attempt to seal the records so the taxpayers of Massachusetts would not find out how much money the two terrorists had received. He claimed he was just as “curious” as everyone else but his hands were tied.

Now we know exactly what the governor was trying to hide because the Boston Herald has learned that the two terrorists and their parents received at least $100,ooo in welfare benefits:

The Tsarnaev family, including the suspected terrorists and their parents, benefited from more than $100,000 in taxpayer-funded assistance — a bonanza ranging from cash and food stamps to Section 8 housing from 2002 to 2012, the Herald has learned.

Sure if this is correct (and I wouldn’t be surprised to learn there is more that hasn’t been released at this point) that only amounts to about $10,000 a year, but that is not a bad haul at all considering the fact the FBI was investigating Tamerlan Tsarnaev for ties to terrorist groups at one point and considering the CIA had concerns as well and Russia was warning the United States about these two brothers, yet no red flags were raised. And let us not forget that none of the family members were even citizens of the United States until Dzhokhar gained citizenship last year, on the anniversary of September 11th nonetheless.

But this is only the tip of the iceberg because one of the only Republicans in the Massachusetts State legislature, Shaunna O’Connell, has been fighting desperately for welfare reform in the cradle of liberty for quite some time but has been unable to gain support with the Democrat controlled government of Massachusetts. 20,000 EBT cards are reported as lost every single month in the state and yet the cards are reissued without question and nobody in the state seems to know where these cards are going or who is receiving the money. Welfare fraud in the state is rampant with an estimated $25 million in waste. You can hear more hear on this issue here.

When Deval Patrick was asked about $25 million in wasted welfare monies  he claimed the system itself was  sound although there was some “leakage.” We now know that at least $100,ooo of this “leakage” went to terrorists who were plotting against, and carried out, an attack on American soil and at this point one has to wonder who else has received this money and what they are planning to do with it.

Yet the federal government is focused on immigration reform which would make it easier for people like the Tsarnaev brothers to become citizens and gun control on law abiding citizens while the mainstream media is focused on a gay NBA player. You have to have priorities I guess…..

If you think the gun control debate is over you are sadly mistaken

April 29, 2013

Two weeks ago an amendment to the gun control legislation which would require universal background checks for the purchase of all firearm sales failed in the Senate and Harry Reid promptly pulled the entire legislation from the floor. But not before he voted against the background checks as well.

Harry Reid’s vote was simply a procedural maneuver which would allow the legislation to be taken up at a later date, so while those who are opposed to the legislation celebrated it was an incomplete victory.

The King’s Hand, Joe Biden, was the first to hint that the legislation was not dead when he stated that the legislation would be passed before the end of 2013. He also reaffirmed that his boss, Barack Obama, would be looking at more executive action which could he taken in the wake of the failed vote.

And now Joe Manchin has stated that he will be bringing the gun control legislation back to the Senate floor for another vote. While constitution and second amendment advocates won round one that is all it was–round one–because Democrats have no intention of letting the Sandy Hook crisis go to waste.

If the Democrats are one thing they are persistent and we need to match their persistence or else at the end of the day they will win and the constitution, and all law abiding Americans, will lose. We cannot become fat, happy, and lazy with this one victory because the battle is not over. The Democrats will try to distract us with other issues as they move forward with gun control legislation. We cannot let them get away with this sleight of hand.

Immigrants do not have to prove they are in America legally when applying for food stamps

April 26, 2013

According to this story potential immigrants to America do not have to prove that they are in the country legally when they sign up for government assistance:

The Department of Agriculture, via the Mexican government, assures potentially ineligible immigrants that they can still apply for food stamps on behalf of their eligible children without giving information about their immigration status

A USDA Spanish language flyer provided to the Mexican Embassy, according to Judicial Watch, reads that if potentially ineligible immigrants want to obtain benefits for their children they “need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children.”

The federal government is actively advertising in foreign countries with the goal of enticing potential immigrants to come to this country and sign up for welfare regardless of their immigration status. Personally, I do not see how this can be legal but apparently it is because Barack Obama and the federal government would never advocate breaking federal immigration laws, right?

All the while we have been told by the federal government that these people are only coming here to do the jobs that Americans will not do but it appears as if the federal government is asking potential immigrants to collect the benefits that the American people may be to proud to apply for with the ultimate goal of increasing dependency on the government in the hopes that it will help to keep them in power.

If you still think the federal government has the best interests of the American people at heart you had better think again. Somebody has to pay for this and as always it will be the hardworking taxpayers footing the bill for those who have entered the country illegally. Is this what Barack Obama considers sacrificing for the greater good?

Obamacare: Congress looks to exempt themselves and their aides from the healthcare exchanges

April 25, 2013

This story is a couple of days old but I didn’t have a chance to write about it yesterday because my son and I went to the Bruins game last night to celebrate his 18th birthday. Every once in awhile a small break is needed in order for me to keep my sanity and last night was one such example, but this story needs to be written about so here we go.

Politico reported yesterday that Harry Reid, John Boenher, and other leaders in both parties were engaged in discussions to exempt lawmakers and their aides from the healthcare exchanges which are being setup in Obamacare because they are too expensive:

Congressional leaders in both parties are engaged in high-level, confidential talks about exempting lawmakers and Capitol Hill aides from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said.

The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Discussions have stretched out for months, sources said.

The problem stems from whether members and aides set to enter the exchanges would have their health insurance premiums subsidized by their employer — in this case, the federal government. If not, aides and lawmakers in both parties fear that staffers — especially low-paid junior aides — could be hit with thousands of dollars in new health care costs, prompting them to seek jobs elsewhere

Since this story first broke we have learned that the Senate is pushing back against this:

Republican senators pushed back on the idea that Congress ought to receive an exemption from the health-care exchanges required under Obamacare, after Politico reported Thursday that leaders from both parties had been involved in negotiations to do just that for aides and lawmakers.

Now that this story has seen the light of day I don’t think there is any way people like Harry Reid and John Boehner will be able to get away with this but it still sheds a light upon the mentality of the ruling class in this country. When push comes to shove their first reaction is to move to protect themselves from the policies which they passed in the first place while leaving the plebeians to fend for themselves and that is precisely what is wrong with Washington today.

So what are Americans to do when both major parties in Washington are only interested in doing what is best for them while neglecting the needs of the American people?

The only thing that can be done is to look for a new viable option: The New Federalist Party has a plank in their platform which states that all lawmakers must live under the rules and the laws which they pass. It is time for Americans to take a good, hard look at the New Federalist Party and stop blindly following both the Republicans and the Democrats.

Rand Paul flip-flops as support for killing United States citizens with drones increases after the Boston Marathon bombing

April 24, 2013

In my first post with the Boston Marathon bombing as its topic I made the following prediction:

With Dzhokhar  Tsarnaev now in custody and the crisis over (we think) we are going to hear about the need for increased video surveillance on all street corners in major cities and possibly even an increased police presence in the streets, and this will probably be used to justify the domestic drone spying program which is already in the works. This will be the narrative from both the Democrats and the Republicans alike.

That was not a very difficult prediction to make; after the Sandy Hook massacre the federal government tried to implement legislation which would make the American people less powerful, so with that effort failing it seemed only natural that the federal government would use this terrorist attack to try to make the government more powerful.

Sadly, but not surprisingly, support is now growing in the government, and among legal scholars, for the targeted drone killing of United States citizens: Read more…
