Hillary Clinton takes responsibility for Libya security failures
Breaking news at this hour: Hillary Clinton has just taken responsibility for the security failures which led to the death of Chris Stevens and three other Americans.
I take responsibility” for the protection of U.S. diplomats, Clinton said during a visit to Peru. But she said an investigation now under way will ultimately determine what happened in the attack that left four Americans dead
This is as it should be; Hillary Clinton is in charge of the State Department and her State Department ignored both warnings an attack was imminent and pleas for more security from the now deceased Chris Stevens. She is responsible and she can no longer deny it.
Yet she is not resigning for the most egregious error she could have committed as Secretary of State, while going out of her way to mention that Barack Obama is not to blame for this failure?
She also mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing and that new information is coming in all the time, so they still don’t know what happened on September 11th. If this is true why did Barack Obama not think it inappropriate to declare this was a protest of a You Tube video when he addressed the United Nations two weeks after the attack if the investigation was not complete, and he knew within 24 hours there was no protest in front of the consulate in Libya?
Sounds to me like she is simply trying to provide Barack Obama with cover heading into tomorrow’s debate, probably in return for some face saving measure. The cover up continues…..
According to this article Barack Obama is preparing for a drone strike in Libya if the people who were responsible for the September 11th attack on the consulate in Libya which left Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans dead can be identified and found.
Administration officials say the White House has put special operations strike forces on standby and moved drones into the skies above Africa, ready to hit militant targets from Libya to Mali, if U.S. investigators can find the al-Qaida-linked group responsible for the death of the U.S. ambassador in Libya.
I do not have a problem with this whatsoever, in fact I support it, all of those responsible for the attack must be brought to justice. However, Barack Obama cannot bring himself to do what is right until he looks at it through a political prism and that is what he is doing here as well:
But the officials say the administration also is weighing whether the short-term payoff of being able to claim retribution against al-Qaida is worth the risk that such strikes would be ineffective and rile governments in the region
He will not seek retribution unless he determines the political payoff (an October surprise) is worth the risk of further igniting the anti-American flames which has has kindled in the Middle East. This is typical of Barack Obama, he always looks at image before results and this is no different.
While I want to see all of those responsible for the attack brought to justice I extend this beyond those who carried out the attack because we know the Obama regime had actionable intelligence about the attack and did nothing to stop it. We also know the Obama regime ignored requests for more security in the region even though they had this actionable intelligence. And we also know the Obama regime has lied about and covered up the true reason behind the attack as well as the regime’s failure to prevent the attack.
So while ultimately those who actually attacked the consulate in Libya are responsible, the Obama regime is culpable for not doing anything to prevent the attack and a high ranking official in the Obama regime also needs to be held accountable. Then, and only then, will justice really be served.
New Hampshire Public Radio selectively edits tape to hide Maggie Hassan’s tax gaffe
In the recent past we have seen MSNBC, NBC, and CBS selectively edit audio and video tapes to push an agenda–it happened with Trayvon Martin and it also happened with Mitt Romney’s “47% gaffe” and here as well, but this local New Hampshire story might just take the cake.
Democrat Maggie Hassan and Republican Ovide Lamontagne are vying to become the next governor of the state of New Hampshire. Maggie Hassan was in the state senate when New Hampshire’s spending spiraled out of control under Governor John Lynch.
As a result of this spending, revenues had to be raised and we all know where that money came from–taxes and fees. This is what led to the Tea Party revolution in New Hampshire in 2010 and the ousting of Maggie Hassan.
Maggie Hassan has the endorsement of Governor Lynch and she is promising to continue his policies if she is elected governor. Naturally Ovide Lamontagne is attempting to tie her to the tax and fee increases which happened while she was in the state senate, (99 to be exact) although she is trying to distance herself from this aspect of Governor Lynch’s record.
‘Tax’ is a word she has been avoiding, going so far as to claim she opposes an income tax now that she is running for governor even though she has supported an income tax virtually her whole career.
During a debate back in September both candidates were asked about RGGI. RGGI (pronounced Reggie by we locals) is the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and it is a compact the state entered into with other states in New England to curb greenhouse gasses while John Lynch was governor. Needless to say it will cause energy prices to rise. The Republicans have been trying to repeal this initiative but so far have been unable to do so.
Ovide Lamontagne wants to repeal RGGI while Maggie Hassan voted for it, here is how New Hampshire Public Radio (which just happens to receive tax dollars) covered, and continues to cover, Maggie Hassan’s answer to the question on RGGI:
She is proud to have supported the energy efficiency program, no problem there right? There is a problem however, here is what she actually said:
She stumbled and admitted that RGGI was indeed a tax and she was proud to support it, not surprising given her history. NHPR decided to edit the tape because of time constraints, so they say. But how much time did they edit out? One second perhaps, and it just happened to be the one second when Maggie Hassan admitted RGGI was a tax.
There is no doubt who NHPR wants to see win in November and it isn’t Ovide Lamontagne and they knew this gaffe might hurt Maggie Hassan so they edited it. This was no mistake, this was blatant and they got caught.

Yesterday the phone rang and the caller ID said simply ‘Big Brother.’ My initial thought was that this was creepy, someone named Big Brother is calling me before I realized it was the Big Brother, Big Sister organization looking for a donation of either time or money. I had a little chuckle at my own expense for my initial reaction, but it gave me the idea for today’s theme. Here is the movie trailer for the movie 1984:
Latest New Hampshire presidential poll (10/12/12) shows a tight race
I didn’t write about the last New Hampshire poll which came out a couple of weeks ago because it didn’t seem credible. That poll showed Barack Obama suddenly leading Mitt Romney by fifteen points in what had otherwise been a fairly tight race.
I wasn’t the only person who had questions about this poll, most people in the state–on both sides of the aisle–didn’t think it was right. The aspect of that poll which made it so questionable was the gubernatorial result from the poll. While Barack Obama was said to have a fifteen point lead, Democrat candidate Maggie Hassan and Republican candidate Ovide Lamontagne were still locked in a dead heat.
Here is a little background: outgoing Governor John Lynch–a Democrat–is New Hampshire’s longest serving governor having served four terms. (It must be remembered that New Hampshire governors serve two year terms so in reality he served the equivalent of two terms in all other states with the exception of Vermont.) He still remains wildly popular with an approval rating of nearly 70% and he endorsed Maggie Hassan. Maggie Hassan has been running on the idea that she would continue Governor Lynch’s policies. It seems highly unlikely that Maggie Hassan would be in a dead heat with Ovide Lamontagne if she had the endorsement of Governor Lynch AND Barack Obama had such a big lead in the state.
So I will ignore the poll that showed Barack Obama ahead by fifteen points for now (more on it later) and compare the new results to the poll I wrote about here which was taken at the end of September.
There are actually two new polls out and both show a close race; one has Mitt Romney ahead by four points and the other has the two presidential hopefuls tied at 48%:
A new poll released today by the American Research Group showed Mitt Romney leading Obama, 50 to 46 percent in New Hampshire. The poll has a margin of error of 4 percent, meaning the poll shows the race in a virtual dead heat.
Earlier this week, a Rassmussen Reports poll showed the New Hampshire race truly tied, at 48 percent
Back in September Mitt Romney had a three point advantage at 48%-45% while now one poll shows Romney with a four point lead with Romney hitting the 50% mark and Obama dropping to 46%. The Rassmussen poll shows little change in the numbers at all.
No word on how many voters were undecided and that will be the key in New Hampshire as independent (undeclared) voters are the largest voting block in the state–as go the undeclared voters so goes the final results. These are the voters who are going to decide the outcome in this state and as of right now it is too close to predict a winner and still too much time to go.
Now let us go back to that poll which showed Barack Obama with a fifteen point lead for a moment. That poll was conducted by UNH and they have also released a new poll just two weeks later and it shows Barack Obama in the lead by six points this time. So either they have tweaked their polling criteria in an attempt to undo an error or they have Mitt Romney surging far quicker than the other two polls I just shared–I am inclined to believe it is the former, not the latter.
With the election results expected to be real close all across the nation New Hampshire’s four electoral votes could decide who the next president will be (if Al Gore won New Hampshire George Bush would not have ever been president) and one thing is for sure–it is getting very interesting in the Granite State. I believe fully that Mitt Romney is going to win New Hampshire, just a gut feeling.
Romney and Ryan hammer the Obama regime on the Libya terrorist attack while on the campaign trail
The mainstream media doesn’t seem to think that a pre-planned and coordinated terrorist attack on the anniversary of September 11th where requests for increased security were denied by the State Department despite ample warning signs an attack was imminent is a story worth reporting on in depth. Nor does the media seem compelled to report on the lies, contradictory statements, evolving stories, or the cover up the Obama regime is actively engaged in.
Because of this it will be up to Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to compel the media into covering this scandal whether they like it or not by hammering away at the Obama regime for the failings which led up to the attack and the cover up which followed while they are on the campaign trail. And both Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan seem more than willing to do so.

According to this article Vince Cefalu was an ATF special agent for 25 years with a stellar record of putting criminals behind bars, and always received positive evaluations which led to several promotions over his long career. The reason that statement is written in the past tense is because Special Agent Cefalu was also a whistleblower; in 2005 he started exposing the use of illegal wiretapping in his department and it culminated in his testimony before the Congress on Operation Fast and Furious.
Shortly after blowing the whistle on Operation Fast and Furious Agent Cefalu was placed on leave and last week he was asked to meet his superiors at a Denny’s restaurant, but when he arrived in the parking lot he was immediately handed his termination papers. The ATF’s retaliation against a brave man who only wanted to do what was right is now complete.
Naturally Agent Cefalu believes the charges are bogus and he intends to fight back:
Well, they’ve finally gone ahead and done it. ATF’s San Francisco hatchet men just served Special Agent Vince Cefalu with termination papers in the parking lot of a Dennys. They did this over a year and half after proposing the termination . Notwithstanding the transparently trumped-up nature of the so-called “charges” in question, proposing a termination and then excuting it over a year and a half later is prima facie evidence that the action is unsustainable and is virtually certain to be reversed on appeal
Moreover, the allegations used as a basis for the adverse action are laughably unfounded, deliberately fabricated, and relied largely on the testimony of ATF officials who committed easily-provable felony perjury in open court and later in sworn depositions. I herein predict that a number of the people involved in this grotesque act of bald-faced unlawful retaliation and obstruction of justice will do significant jail time before this is all over
He believes he can prove pretty easily people in the ATF committed perjury and predicts people will go to jail. I can only hope that at the very least Agent Cefalu receives the justice the families of Brian Terry and Jamie Zapata never did.
New RNC ad: Joe Biden always says what he means
One of the highlights from last night’s debate came when Joe Biden tried to hit Mitt Romney for his “47% gaffe.” Paul Ryan turned the tables on him by reminding him that sometimes words don’t always come out of his mouth the right way.
This drew the only crowd reaction of the night–laughter–and a very defensive Biden wagged his finger and declared, “I always say what I mean.”
Today the RNC came out with a new campaign ad featuring Joe Biden always saying what he means and here it is for your enjoyment:
