Mitt Romney ad: Mute Button

September 23, 2012

Bob Woodward, the man who gained the respect and admiration of the left for his role in exposing and taking down Richard Nixon, is about to release a new book critical of Barack Obama. In this book he has made the claim that when Barack Obama called a meeting on the stimulus bill Nancy Pelosi hit the mute button and carried on with the  meeting while ignoring what the president had to say.

Mitt Romney has come out with a new ad attacking Barack Obama and in that ad he asks, “if Barack Obama can’t lead his own party, how can he lead America?’

It’s time for Harry Reid to apologize for lying about Mitt Romney’s tax records

September 22, 2012

In a Friday night document dump Mitt Romney released his 2011 tax return. In addition to this tax return he also released a letter from auditors at Price Waterhouse Cooper which apparently proves he did indeed pay taxes for the years 1990-2009 in direct contradiction with Harry Reid’s baseless claim that he did not.

Harry Reid twice made the accusation that Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes for ten years and he claimed he had a source at Bain that told him. Of course the IRS never had a problem with Romney’s taxes but that didn’t stop Reid from smearing the presidential candidate.

Harry Reid then took to the floor of the Senate and made the claim again saying, “the word is out that he hasn’t paid any taxes for ten years.” Harry Reid neglected the point that he was the one who put the word out there in the first place. Harry Reid then had the hubris to declare it wasn’t up to him to prove the accusations were true because he was the accuser, but rather it was up to Mitt Romney to prove they weren’t because he was the accused. A classic case of guilty until proven innocent.

By releasing this letter Mitt Romney has proven that he paid his taxes and he has shown everyone who is  paying attention that Harry Reid is nothing but a liar. Harry Reid owes Mitt Romney an apology, but he owes him one from the Senate floor because if he is man enough to smear Romney on the Senate floor he should be man enough to admit he lied and apologize to Mitt Romney on the Senate floor as well.

The man behind the terrorist attack on the United States embassy in Libya was labeled an “ally of sorts” by Barack Obama

September 21, 2012

This is a story that I have been meaning to get to for a few days, but with my workload in recent days it had slipped through the cracks.

With our federal government finally admitting that the attack on the Libyan embassy was a terrorist attack and not simply a peaceful protest infiltrated by radical Jihadists, it is time to look at who led the attack. (I believe the Egyptian protest was a feigning maneuver designed to distract from the real attack.)

It is now believed that the man who led the al Qaeda attack on the embassy was Sufyan Ben Qumu; a former GITMO detainee who was released under President Bush and handed over to the Libyan government.

Latest New Hampshire presidential poll (09/21/12): Mitt Romney takes the lead

September 20, 2012

Back in July the first poll results were out since Mitt Romney became the presumptive Republican nominee, and that poll had Mitt Romney trailing Barack Obama by four points at 49%-45%. However this poll showed him gaining ground on Barack Obama because in the April New Hampshire poll, before Romney became the presumptive nominee, Barack Obama led Mitt Romney by a 51%-42% margin.

And today the latest New Hampshire poll is out and it shows us that not only has Mitt Romney closed the gap on Barack Obama, he has pulled ahead of the president. Mitt Romney now holds a slim lead over Barack Obama by a 48%-45% margin. Still a statistical dead heat but good news for Mitt Romney.

In five months Mitt Romney has turned a nine point deficit into a three point lead and if my math is correct, that is a twelve point swing. Mitt Romney appears to have momentum in New Hampshire and while we are a small state with only four electoral votes in an election as close as this one is predicted to be these could be four very critical votes.

My gut instinct is this poll is closer to the truth than the previous ones, I base that on nothing but intuition. I believe Mitt Romney is going to win New Hampshire and if he does it may just hand him the victory in November. There is still plenty of time before the election but this is a good sign for Mitt Romney if he can build on the momentum he appears to have in the state.

Overall New Hampshire voters pride themselves on being independent thinkers and voters and I believe that Barack Obama’s “you didn’t build that” comment is coming back to haunt him in this state.

Gunrunner: Inspector General claims White House “made it impossible” to investigate Barack Obama’s role in Fast and Furious

September 20, 2012

On Wednesday the Department of Injustice released its long awaited (and late) report on Fast and Furious and predictably the report found that Eric Holder didn’t have a clue about the deadly operation. Fourteen people were named in the investigation as being responsible and two of them have resigned. Even if we take this report at face value and concede the point that Eric Holder in fact didn’t know, it still seems like his cluelessness about what was going on by so many members of his department should be grounds for dismissal.

  But on to today’s topic:

I have been of the belief for quite some time that not only did Eric Holder know of and approve of Fast and Furious, but so did Barack Obama. Top aides in the Obama White House were in communication with ATF officials and were receiving updates about Fast and Furious, it is totally unbelievable and inconceivable they would not have shared this information with Barack Obama.

So why then didn’t the Inspector General assigned to investigate Fast and Furious, Michael Horowitz, pursue this angle? He tried to but surprisingly enough (sarcasm) Barack Obama was uncooperative.

During a Congressional hearing on his report he stated the White House made it impossible to pursue this angle.

Once again I would like to apologize; I have been working quite a few hours in the last few weeks and that makes it nearly impossible for me to write at night and visit my favorite blogs as often as I would like. I also haven’t been as diligent in responding to comments here and leaving comments on other blogs, but I am sure you all understand.

Gunrunner: DOJ releases Fast and Furious report, deputy takes the fall

September 19, 2012

The long awaited Department of Injustice report on Operation Fast and Furious has finally been released and to nobody’s surprise the report states that Eric Holder was unaware of the operation until February of last year.

Other than absolving Eric Holder the report is said to be quite damning on the agency as a whole:

The report says Attorney General Eric Holder was not made aware of potential flaws in the program until February of last year. But the report cites 14 other department employees — including Criminal Division head Lanny Breuer — for potential wrongdoing, recommending the department consider disciplinary action against them.

One congressional source told Fox News the report was “more brutal than was expected.”

In the wake of the report Jason Weinstein, a deputy assistant attorney general, resigned after being fingered as the highest ranking official to be in a position to stop the deadly operation. (Laughable) And  Kenneth Melson retired after the report was released, these are Eric Holder’s fall guys.

Was the video of Mitt Romney’s “47% gaffe” selectively edited?

September 19, 2012

When Andrew Breitbart was supposedly caught editing a video of Shirley Sherrod which showed her to appear as a racist Media Matters and the mainstream media had a field day with the story. It was splashed all over the news as the media tried to bring down the man they feared posed the biggest threat to Barack Obama and the Democrats.

There has been a new story splashed all over the mainstream media during the last week–and no it isn’t the assassination of Chris Stevens in Libya, although that should be the story–and it is the gaffe that Mitt Romney made about 47% of the people in the nation being dependent on the government and people who will not be voting for him in November no matter what happens.

Barack Obama ‘outsourced’ Libya embassy security to unarmed British firm

September 18, 2012

One of the questions asked after the United States embassy in Libya was attacked and our ambassador, Chris Stevens, was murdered was “where were the marines?

According to this article the Obama regime decided to take a low profile after the assassination of Muammar Qaddafi; while the Obama regime supported the overthrow of Qaddafi and supported the mission with bombs and intelligence once the deed was done Barack Obama preferred America’s role in the ouster of Qaddafi was forgotten. So much so that Marines were not stationed in Libya, private security was outsourced to Britain, and Hillary Clinton signed off on the “no bullets” rules on engagement:

American Marines were not stationed at the U.S. embassy in Tripoli or the American mission in Benghazi, as would typically have been the case. In the spirit of a “low profile,” the administration didn’t even want an American company in charge of private security. Blue Mountain, the British firm the State Department hired, was willing to abide by the “no bullets” Rules of Engagement (ROE), so were a logical fit for the contract. These sub-standard protections for American diplomats were signed by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the ROE.

In essence, the Obama Administration tasked an unarmed British firm with security responsibilities that should have been handled by armed American servicemen, and it was all approved by the Secretary of State. Needless to say, the plan failed and an Ambassador was murdered, along with several others.

Does anything else really need to be said? I didn’t think so.
