Open thread for Saturday September 1: Barack Obama’s ‘Red Right Hand’ edition

September 1, 2012

Here is the open thread for Saturday September 1st, this is the place to leave links you find interesting or to engage in conversation about whatever issues happen to come up.

Later on today we are going to go see the movie ‘Lawless’ it is a movie based on the true story of three brothers during the prohibition era. The screenplay just happens to have been written by one of my all time favorite musicians, Nick Cave, so I am really looking forward to seeing the movie and listening to the soundtrack.

About a year ago I wrote a post called ‘Barack Obama’s Red Right Hand’ in which I took a Nick Cave song written in 1994 and compared it to Barack Obama and his policies. The entity with the Red Right Hand was a man who made promises, but a man who had to be watched carefully because he “ain’t what he seems.” I have readers here today that I didn’t have over a year ago so in the interest of shameless self promotion I have decided to link to the article.

Please check out Barack Obama’s “Red Right Hand.”

And here is a pretty cool live version of the song:

Afterburner with Bill Whittle: The Incredible Shrinking Man

September 1, 2012

Wow! That is really all I have to say about Bill Whittle’s latest ‘Afterburner’ video entitled ‘The Incredible Shrinking Man.’ In this video he describes what we can expect from both camps as the election nears. I can’t do it justice with my pen, so here it is for your enjoyment:

The House to investigate the possibility that stimulus money was funneled to MSNBC to propagandize Barack Obama’s green energy policies

August 31, 2012

As I first wrote about here last week, the Obama regime took $500,000 in taxpayer stimulus money to hire a public relations firm called McNeely Pigott & Fox Public Relations LLC. This firm then turned around and gave the money to MSNBC to run propaganda ads on Rachel Maddow’s and Keith Olbermann’s shows promoting Barack Obama green energy policies.

In the most recent development on this story the House Committee on Education and the Workforce is opening up an investigation into this potential scandal and have requested all documents related to the story: Read more…

MSNBC host Larry O’Donnell claims it is racist to talk about Barack Obama’s golfing

August 31, 2012

Watching the propaganda arm of the Obama regime, MSNBC, implode as Barack Obama’s reelection bid looks more and more in doubt is beginning to get quite entertaining.

Chris Mathews has been an embarrassment for many years, but never more so than when he stated Mitt Romney was using racial code when he told Barack Obama to take his hate filled campaign back to Chicago. That’s right, using the word ‘Chicago’ when talking about Barack Obama makes you a racist. It doesn’t matter that Chicago is the place where Barack Obama cut his political teeth.

Touré had a tough job to do if he was going to outdo Chris Mathews but he gave it one hell of a try when he stated that Mitt Romney was ‘niggerizing’ Barack Obama for calling his campaign hate filled and angry.

But Touré didn’t stop there; in a candid statement which showed us the left truly believes the government is the source of all of our rights he claimed he was deeply offended by Paul Ryan’s assertion that our rights were God given. Claiming our rights are derived from God is a racist and sexist thing to say if you are an uber-liberal Barack Obama apologist on MSNBC.

Not to be outdone by either Chris Mathews or Touré, Larry O’Donnell took this  meme to the next, absurd level when he declared that Mitch McConnell was a racist for talking about Barack Obama’s love of the game of golf. How did he make this great leap forward?

Here is how, and you aren’t going to believe it: Read more…

MSNBC host claims it is “offensive” that Paul Ryan said our rights come from God

August 30, 2012

I am not going to waste much of my time or energy on this post but it is worth mentioning. The last time we saw MSNBC host Touré in the news was when he accused Mitt Romney of  ‘niggerizing’ Barack Obama when the presidential hopeful  called on Barack Obama to take his campaign of hate back to Chicago. (Not to get sidetracked here, but now Chris Mathews is claiming that simply using the word ‘Chicago’ is a racial slur.) Touré eventually apologized for using the ‘N’ word but not for calling Mitt Romney a racist.

Now Touré is at it again, calling it offensive that Paul Ryan said our rights come from God and nature during his acceptance speech last night. The video can be seen here if you would like to watch it, but this is what he said:

[Paul Ryan] loves this line of ‘our rights come from God and nature’, which is so offensive to so much of America. Because for black people, hispanic people and women, our rights do not come from God or nature. They were not recognized by the natural order of America. They come from the government and from legislation that happens in relatively recent history in America. So that line just bothers me to my core.

Because America once tolerated slavery it means that our rights do not come from God, but rather from government and to think otherwise is offensive. I guess that means we can add the words ‘God’ and ‘nature’ to the words we are no longer permitted to use.

Paul Ryan’s speech at the Republican National Convention

August 30, 2012

Paul Ryan took to the stage at roughly 10:25 last night to accept his nomination as Republican candidate for Vice President of the United States and quite frankly, he knocked it out of the park last night.

Paul Ryan came out swinging and he didn’t let up; hammering the Obama regime for broken promises, failed leadership, the economy, jobs, Obamacare, not passing a budget, not taking responsibility, passing the buck, the failed stimulus and the money funneled to Democrat donors, class warfare politics, Solyndra and make believe markets, the central planners in our government trying run our live from afar, and just about everything you could think of.

I am sure I left something out, but perhaps my favorite moment was when he called Barack Obama out on Medicare. Barack Obama has been telling everyone who could listen that Paul Ryan’s budget was a radical, extremist, irresponsible budget which would end Medicare as we know it. Paul Ryan reminded the American people last night that the only person who has actually cut Medicare was Barack Obama himself and declared that the biggest threat to Medicare was Obamacare. He turned the tables on Barack Obama on this issue and promised that this Medicare fight was a battle the Republicans will win.

Here is the video of his speech, if you haven’t seen it is well worth listening to. Mitt Romney is going to have a tough time trying to beat this:

Open thread for Wednesday August 29: Republican women edition

August 29, 2012

Here is the open thread for Wednesday August 29th, feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever might be on your mind today.

You might have heard that last night was the first night of speeches at the Republican convention, I would love to hear your thoughts on how you feel each speaker did last night. With the Democrats claiming that the Republicans are waging a war on women I thought it would be appropriate to include the videos of two Republican women from the convention last night. I give you Mia  Love and Ann Romney.

Enjoy and have a great day!

New ad slams Barack Obama for not voting to protect babies who survived abortions while still a state senator

August 28, 2012

Barack Obama had been planning to be president for many years–most of his life–before he actually ran for president. Being a far left ideologue who knew his radical positions were not aligned with mainstream America Barack Obama hid his true beliefs while a state Senator by voting ‘present’ on all controversial bills. This provided him with no real record to speak of–a blank slate–so that when he began to talk about fundamentally changing America people could read into that whatever they wanted to without knowing how radical he really was.

One bill which came to the floor three times, with different wording, was a bill which would protect the lives of babies who survived late term abortions were born alive, this bill would allow doctors and nurses to provide care for the living, breathing baby. Barack Obama refused to vote to save the lives of these babies every time because he said he didn’t agree with the wording of the bills. During this time Barack Obama claimed that he supported a federal version of the Babies Born Alive bill, but one of the bills he refused to vote on as a state Senator was worded almost exactly the same as the federal bill. During his campaign for president he denied this version of the bill existed, but that was a lie and the campaign backtracked from that statement.

Susan B. Anthony has released a new ad featuring a woman who survived an abortion, it is pretty powerful and here it is:

And Barack Obama has the hubris to call Mitt Romney an extremist?

While our heroes die in Afghanistan Barack Obama does interviews with Glamour and People magazines

August 27, 2012

A troubling trend has emerged over the last few weeks in Afghanistan as our enemy adapts to the situation on the ground. In the month of August ‘green on blue’ attacks have spiked. For those who get their news from the mainstream media and haven’t heard about this; ‘green on blue’ attacks are attacks on coalition forces in Afghanistan by supposedly friendly Afghan security forces.

The mainstream media has all but ignored the war in Afghanistan since Barack Obama took office, but when they do bother to mention the spike in violence they talk about NATO casualties in order to downplay how many Americans are being killed in Afghanistan, but this is to be expected from the propaganda arm of the Obama regime.

You wouldn’t know it by listening to the mainstream media, but since the beginning of August ten of the NATO troops killed by people pretending to be working with the coalition have been Americans. In many cases these Americans were killed after training the Afghans and personally handing them the weapons used to kill them. This appears to be the biggest threat moving forward as we continue to train Afghans to take care of themselves after we leave the country in 2014 because there is no way to tell who is a legitimate friend and who is a member of the Taliban who infiltrated Afghan security forces with the sole intent of killing Americans.

The media’s silence in order to protect Barack Obama is one thing, but where is Barack Obama? At least ten of our heroes have died this month at the hands of the people the United States was training and yet Barack Obama hasn’t even bothered to issue a statement of condemnation or of sympathy to the victims  or their families other than to say the policy would continue despite the recent attacks.

While all of this is going on overseas Barack Obama has been handing out fluff  interviews to Glamour and People magazines so apparently he has just been too busy trying to resurrect his own fallen image and he simply doesn’t have enough time to acknowledge our fallen heroes. Barack Obama is more interested in winning reelection than he is about winning the war in Afghanistan so he is willing to ignore the sacrifices being made by our heroes on a daily basis. A man has to have priorities I guess…..
