Video: Barack Obama, the ‘Outsourcer-in-Chief’

July 11, 2012

The RNC has released a new ad hitting Barack Obama hard for outsourcing jobs and investing in foreign countries to the tune of $29 billion in stimulus money which we were told would create jobs in America.

  Here it is:

Debbie Wasserman Schultz had overseas investments and Nancy Pelosi made millions investing overseas

July 11, 2012

The charming woman with the dazzling and cute smile–Debbie Wasserman Schultz–recently attacked Mitt Romney for outsourcing jobs during his tenure at Bain and for investments he has made overseas, going so far as to say it would be nice if he was “committed to America.”

This of course is part of the left’s plan of dividing Americans along class lines to hold onto power–the age old proletariat versus the bourgeoise plan which has been implemented with great success (for the ruling class, those who were the ruled didn’t make out so well) in Europe in the past.

Here is what Schultz had to say about Mitt Romney:

Mitt Romney needs to come clean and release multiple years of his tax returns so we can see why he invested in a Bermuda corporation and transferred it to his wife’s name the day before he became Governor of Massachusetts.
So we can see why he’s invested in Swiss bank accounts and accounts in the Cayman Islands. And you know, we also need to know why does — what is the allure of investments out of the country. When he headed up Bain Capital, he was a pioneer in outsourcing and shipped jobs overseas.
It would be nice if we had a candidate for president who was committed to America. Mitt Romney is committed to making sure that either he makes the most money as humanly possible, or his investors do. And that’s evidenced by his track record in shipping jobs overseas and making sure that he has investments that we don’t know why he invested in offshore accounts. But most folks that I know, they make their investments in a bank in America, most American business men invest here and if you’re running for president, that certainly should be your commitment

As head of the DNC Debbie Wasserman Schultz is navigating the path which the rest of the party is expected to follow, so perhaps she should have made sure the Democrats’ houses were in order before she went on the attack. Shortly after she made these statements we learned that Mitt Romney was no longer at Bain when the jobs in question were outsourced, and in fact Barack Obama had used $29 billion in stimulus money to outsource jobs and make investments overseas.

Former New Hampshire Governor John Sununu schools Andrea Mitchell on Barack Obama’s outsourced stimulus jobs record

July 10, 2012

Barack Obama’s campaign has made an issue out of the fact that Bain outsourced some jobs to foreign countries and tried to pin the blame on Mitt Romney, but as it turns out this is a falsehood and the outsourced jobs in question did not occur while Mitt Romney was involved with Bain. This has not stopped the Obama campaign from repeating the lie (someone in Germany once said something about repeating a lie until it is the truth, but I digress) and that is fine because this now affords us the opportunity to look at Barack Obama’s stimulus record–turnabout is fair play.

Unfortunately for Barack Obama the outsourcing of jobs is something he is quite familiar with because it turns out that nearly $29 billion in stimulus money was outsourced to create jobs in foreign countries. The fact that taxpayer money was used to fund job creation in other countries is an ugly little fact the Obama regime would have preferred to keep secret but because Barack Obama tried to paint Mitt Romney with the outsourcing label it is now coming to light.

Former New Hampshire Governor John Sununu (not to be confused with his son who was and still should be my senator) appeared on Andrea Mitchell’s show to discuss the outsourcing issue and he quickly had her fumbling around trying to defend Barack Obama’s stimulus outsourcing while criticizing Mitt Romney’s non-outsourcing at the same time.

  This is priceless:

Video: Madison Rising’s version of the Star Spangled Banner

July 10, 2012

Last December I posted a couple of videos by a rock band called Madison Rising which can be seen here. For those unfamiliar with Madison Rising; they are a young, pro-America, patriotic, pro-military rock band who I believe all rock fans should check out.

While browsing all my favorite blogs this morning I came across a video on Cmblake6’s Weblog of Madison Rising performing their version of the Star Spangled Banner which I just had to share with my readers tonight. Fantastic version and a great video to boot.

Gunrunner: The DOJ admits Brian Terry was armed with a beanbag gun on the night he was murdered, offers $1 million reward for information about those responsible for his death

July 9, 2012

A newly unsealed indictment from the Department of Injustice contains the revelation that Brian Terry was armed with a beanbag gun on the night he was murdered (December 14th, 2010) in Peck Canyon. This is not news to anyone who has followed this scandal at America’s Watchtower because I first reported this news more than a year ago, on March 3rd 2011, but this is the first time the Department of Injustice has admitted this fallacy publicly and it is important to write about it again for the benefit of all those who have only started following this story since Eric Holder was held in Contempt of Congress.

This disastrous policy is bad enough on its own, but while the rules of engagement laid out by the Department of Homeland Security put Brian Terry, and all other Border Patrol Agents, at risk and basically defenseless the story is much worse when you take into account the fact that the federal government knew Brian Terry was walking into an ambush that night because an FBI informant was part of the rip crew in Peck Canyon and didn’t warn him–they let him walk into a hostile situation with a beanbag gun and didn’t think it was necessary to tell him of the danger.

Video: Allen West talks about the balkanization of the United States by the left

July 8, 2012

Allen West appeared on Fox and Friends this morning to talk about an article he wrote for the Washington Times in which he called America the Balkanized States of America. When asked if he would back down from his statements about the balkanization of America and the left’s attempt to enslave the American people to the federal government Allen West refused to do so, stating that one should never have to apologize for telling the truth.

In the video below he talks about how the left is purposely trying to divide Americans by gender, race, sexual orientation, and income, and compares it to the Marxist teachings and strategy of pitting the bourgeoisie against the proletariat for political gain. He even manages to mention how Alexis de Tocqueville predicted this downfall in “Democracy in America” in the 1830’s.

Please take five minutes out of your day to watch the one man in the Congress who does not back down from comments he has made simply because the media wishes him to do so.

The Air Force’s drone training program includes tracking American citizens

July 7, 2012

When the National Defense Authorization Act and the FAA Reauthorization Act were signed into law by Barack Obama 30,000 unmanned drones were authorized to start patrolling the skies over American cities, the United States was deemed a battlefield in the war on terror, and the indefinite detention of American citizens without a warrant was signed into law.

Now comes news that the Air Force is honing its tracking abilities by practicing on civilian vehicles right here in the United States:

Holloman sits on almost 60,000 acres of desert badlands, near jagged hills that are frosted with snow for several months of the year — a perfect training ground for pilots who will fly Predators and Reapers over the similarly hostile terrain of Afghanistan. When I visited the base earlier this year with a small group of reporters, we were taken into a command post where a large flat-screen television was broadcasting a video feed from a drone flying overhead. It took a few seconds to figure out exactly what we were looking at. A white S.U.V. traveling along a highway adjacent to the base came into the cross hairs in the center of the screen and was tracked as it headed south along the desert road. When the S.U.V. drove out of the picture, the drone began following another car.

“Wait, you guys practice tracking enemies by using civilian cars?” a reporter asked. One Air Force officer responded that this was only a training mission, and then the group was quickly hustled out of the room.

This seems harmless–unless of course a drone crashes during one of these training missions–because of course the Air Force must be properly trained on flying drones until you take into account an article I wrote on June 4th when we learned from a declassified memo that the Air Force was authorized to share any data collected during these training missions as long as they weren’t targeting a specific United States citizen. Even if the Air Force determines that the data they collected was non-collectible they can still turn it over to the proper authorities:

according to Article 9.6.1 they are allowed to collect data on United States citizens as long as they aren’t looking for specific information or targeting specific Americans. However Article 9.6.2 declares they may indeed conduct targeted surveillance on American citizens if it is authorized by the Secretary of Defense.

But wait, there’s more: Article 11.2.2.1 states that if the Air Force determines after 90 days that the information it collected was not collectible it must be either purged or TRANFERRED. Where would this ill gotten information be transferred to? That question is answered in 11.2.2.2: to either the Department of Defense or another agency which might find the information valuable.

Now we have confirmation that the Air Force is indeed tracking some American citizens who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and while on its own this might not be alarming it does become much more troubling when a declassified internal memo confirms that the Air Force can turn in any information it just happens to gather on one of these training missions without probable cause and without a search warrant.

When the Air Force was caught tracking American civilians the reporters were quickly removed from the room so they could no longer be privy to what was going on behind closed doors and this leads to one final question. What is the Air Force really training for: Are they simply training drone pilots for use in Afghanistan or are they preparing for a perpetual police surveillance state right here in America?

What does the transportation bill have to do with tobacco?

July 6, 2012

What does the transportation bill which Barack Obama is expected to sign have to do with tobacco? On the surface that seems like a silly question with the obvious answer being nothing. After all, transportation and building highways is  one of the legitimate expenditures granted by the constitution in Article 1 Section 8, and transportation and tobacco are two separate issues altogether, but when it comes to the federal government nothing is quite as it seems and such is the case with the transportation bill even though most people prefer not to use public transportation but to have their own cars or a scooter to travel around the city.

Buried deep in the transportation bill was an amendment which was added to the legislation which will change the definition of cigarette manufacturers to include those who own and operate roll your own cigarette machines, effectively shutting down these small businesses all across the country.

Solargate: Nevada Geothermal Power received $100 million in stimulus money, may file for bankruptcy

July 5, 2012

At this point I am beginning to feel as if I should just copy and paste previous posts on the Solargate scandal because all I would have to do is change the name of the company in question; the rest of the story is the same.

Last week I wrote this post about Abound Solar and this is part of what I had to write:

When the Obama regime is asked about Solyndra–a company which went bankrupt after it was awarded a $500 million loan guarantee because the Obama regime fast tracked a review of the company–the regime fends off criticism by stating this was one bad investment but the rest of Barack Obama’s green energy initiative portfolio is strong, and after all, when you gamble on so many companies some are sure to fail because you can’t be right all the time. (Of course this doesn’t stop the Obama regime from attacking Mitt Romney for investing in some companies which eventually had to be shut down, the regime doesn’t apply the same standard to Mitt Romney as it does to itself apparently.)

But the truth is that Solyndra is not the only failure Barack Obama has invested taxpayer money in and he is purposely downplaying how disastrous his green energy initiative has been by neglecting to mention Solar Trust, SoloPower, Enir1, BrightSource, Abengoa, SunPower, LightSquared, Tesla, Fisker, and Beacon Power–all companies the Obama regime has invested in and all companies with major issues, and all these companies just happen to have ties to Democrats and Barack Obama.

Last week we added Abound Solar to that list , and this week we add Nevada Geothermal Power to the list as well. NGP was awarded nearly $100 million in federal loan guarantees as part of Barack Obama’s green energy initiative and now the company is admitting that it may have to file for bankruptcy anyway, money well spent I suppose.

The company’s ability to continue as a going concern is dependent on its available cash and its ability to continue to raise funds to support corporate operations and the development of other properties,” NGPauditors said in a financial statement for the period ending March 31.

“Consequently, material uncertainties exist which cast significant doubt upon the company’s ability to continue as a going concern,” the statement said

You may have noticed the name of the company? That’s right NGP just happens to be located in Harry Reid’s state and the Senate leader just happened to hail NGP as a job creator in 2010 when the loan guarantee was announced. Many on the left blame these failures on their belief that the loans weren’t large enough and they claim that more money should have been spent to keep these companies afloat.

If Barack Obama wins reelection and if the Democrats take control of the Congress we can expect more of these same failed policies–only larger–and we simply cannot afford to keep throwing money around on a technology that simply isn’t ready for primetime just yet.

Gunrunner: A second document shows the DOJ may be involved in a cover up regarding Fast and Furious

July 5, 2012

I updated my last post on the Fast and Furious scandal with news that newly released documents might show that the ATF was involved in trying to cover up the deadly scandal. This is what I added to that post:

UPDATE: Newly released documents also show the ATF was involved in a coverup before the Oversight Committee even began questioning the deadly operation; issuing talking points on how to “answer” questions about Brian Terry’s death and threatening  retaliation against possible whistleblowers, promising to “take them down.”

And now according to this story it appears as if Charles Grassley is in possession of a second document which just might prove the ATF and the Department of Injustice have been involved in a cover up since this scandal first came to light:

In a letter Tuesday, Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley pressed Attorney  General Eric  Holder for details about a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and  Explosives memorandum that indicates his Department of Justice may have  tried to cover up the gunwalking tactics that were at the heart of Operation  Fast and Furious.

Gary Styers, an ATF special agent in the Lubbock, Texas field  office, wrote what Grassley described as a “Fast and Furious memorandum” on  Feb. 3, 2011. In it, Styers described how two investigators for Grassley’s  Senate Judiciary Committee office had contacted him the day before about the  Fast and Furious operation.

The memo described a specific operation in which guns were allowed to walk  across the Mexican border. Grassley told Holder that “according to ATF  personnel, the memorandum was discussed by high level ATF personnel and possibly  forwarded to DOJ headquarters on February 3, 2011.

The date of February 3rd is the critical information in the above quote because it was one day later, on February 4th, that Assistant Attorney General Ron Weich sent Charles Grassley a letter which stated the federal government did not allow any guns to walk into Mexico. That letter was eventually withdrawn from the record because it contained inaccuracies.

The official story for withdrawing and replacing this letter was the claim that some earlier, inaccurate information was accidentally inserted into the letter before anyone realized the mistake, but this new document seems to cast doubt on the official excuse because the ATF was actively talking about gunrunning the day before the letter was sent to Charles Grassley. It seems highly unlikely that the ATF could have been talking about gunrunning the day before the agency sent a letter to Charles Grassley denying any knowledge of gunrunning and could have allowed this letter to move forward unless there was intent to cover up the story from the very beginning.

Charles Grassley has the same question as I do about this new revelation:

The possibility that DOJ was aware of this memorandum [the Styers memo] on  February 3, 2011, and still sent the erroneous letter to Congress on February 4,  2011, raises more questions about DOJ’s claim that faulty information from  department components inadvertently led to the false letter,” Grassley wrote to  Holder.

“This was direct, documented information from street level agents in a far  better position to know the facts than the senior supervisory personnel whom DOJ  claims to have relied upon for information about the allegations.”

Charles Grassley is now asking Eric Holder to release the names of every person who knew about the February 3rd memorandum because it is becoming more and more obvious that not only is the Department of Injustice stonewalling the investigation but the department is also actively involved in trying to cover up who knew what and when they knew it.
