You may remember when MSNBC purposely edited George Zimmerman’s 911 call to make it appear as if his shooting of Trayvon Martin was racially motivated to push their political agenda, and you may remember that some nameless and faceless person at NBC was supposedly fired for this mistake. Well, apparently either MSNBC didn’t learn from this mistake or they think that people have forgotten about it, but one thing is certain, MSNBC will do whatever they feel is needed in order to get Barack Obama reelected and they have been caught once engaging in the art of selective editing.
This story comes from both SooperMexican and The Right Scoop and it involves a speech given by Mitt Romney which MSNBC edited to make him appear to be out of touch with ordinary Americans. Here is the clip as run by MSNBC:
Andrea Mitchell and her guest are laughing at Mitt Romney because he was amazed he could walk into a store, push a few buttons, and receive his order as he left the store. This shows that Mitt Romney doesn’t frequent too many convenience stores and because of this he is out of touch with modern technology and the American people according to MSNBC.
But there is one problem with this conclusion as is evidenced when you watch the unedited version of the speech:
Mitt Romney was clearly comparing the public sector to the private sector and using this as an example to show the difference between the inefficiencies in the federal government compared to the advances made in the private sector due to competition.
MSNBC had to have access to the entire speech when the network decided what to include and what to exclude in its broadcast, but unlike the Zimmerman 911 call where a few seconds were edited out, this should be much harder to explain away as a simple editing mistake and it is quite obvious that this was intentional.
Is it any wonder why the mainstream media is hemorrhaging viewers?
Barack Obama, Eric Holder, and quite frankly just about everyone associated with the Obama regime has shown a stunning lack of remorse toward the Terry and Zapata families, as well as the families of the hundreds of dead Mexicans which can be directly attributed to the deadly scandal known as Operation Fast and Furious. Even with one hundred or so Congressmen calling for Eric Holder’s resignation the beleaguered Attorney General remains defiant and refuses to accept any responsibility for the scandal.
Other than trying to shift the blame for this fiasco to rogue ATF agents in the field the Obama regime seems concerned about little else, but that might be about to change now that the Border Patrol union has called for Eric Holder’s resignation.
This is something that all of our guys are concerned about, because they know it could be any one of them,” Shawn Moran, a union vice president, said according to the Arizona paper.
“We take the risks that are out there naturally just being in law enforcement working across from Mexico in the condition it’s in right now,” Moran said. “But what you can’t accept is when your own government is allowing weapons into the hands of the people you’re confronting
Some of Barack Obama’s biggest supporters and contributors are the various unions and their members and Barack Obama is already on thin ice with public sector units for not fighting for them in the Wisconsin recall election so this just might be something the Obama regime cannot ignore.
While the Obama regime might not care about the loss of life attributable to this deadly scandal they might just be worried about the lack of money flowing into the campaign coffers as a result of Operation Fast and Furious. As sad as it sounds money might just trump human life, after all the Obama regime considers Brian Terry’s death collateral damage and partially justified the program after his death by stating that in order to make an omelet you must scramble a few eggs.
With added pressure being applied by the Border Patrol union it will be interesting to see if Barack Obama and Eric Holder finally find their consciences and do the right thing even if it is for the wrong reason.
As someone who is finding it quite hard to get behind Mitt Romney, and as someone who isn’t committed to vote for Mitt Romney, I found his response to Barack Obama’s decision to bypass the Congress and unilaterally implement the DREAM Act by Executive Order to be troubling. Mitt Romney released a statement which condemned Barack Obama for the manner in which he implemented the new law but he didn’t condemn the law itself.
Mitt Romney’s only issue with Barack Obama’s decision is that it isn’t a permanent solution because an Executive Order can be overturned by the next president to come into power but, like RINO Marco Rubio, it appears as if Mitt Romney does support the legislation and he stated that as president he would work towards a permanent solution. To me that sounds as if Mitt Romney would try to work with the Congress to pass the DREAM Act legislatively, thusly ensuring permanent amnesty to a certain group of illegal immigrants. While this might be the proper procedure for implementing policy the fact remains that we are still talking about amnesty and the DREAM Act here.
And today on the morning talk shows Mitt Romney more or less confirmed my worries about where he stands on the DREAM Act when he refused to state on the record whether or not he would overturn Barack Obama’s Executive Order:
The Republican presidential candidate was asked three times in an interview on CBS’ ”Face the Nation” whether he would overturn the executive order issued Friday if he’s elected in the fall. He refused to directly answer
But what he did say was this:
He explained the order would become irrelevant “by virtue of my putting in place a long-term solution, with legislation which creates law that relates to these individuals such that they know what their setting is going to be, not just for the term of a president but on a permanent basis
In other words he intends to render Barack Obama’s Executive Order irrelevant because he plans on working with the Congress in an attempt to pass the DREAM Act legislatively. Basically he intends to take Barack Obama’s DREAM Act one step further by making it much harder for a true conservative to come along someday and reverse the new amnesty law.
Mitt Romney took the toughest stance against illegal immigration out of any of the Republican candidates during the primary, going so far as to call Newt Gingrich’s amnesty plan a magnet which would encourage more people to illegally enter the country, but with the primary election behind him he seems to be softening his stance and he is now open to creating a magnet of his own.
Who didn’t see that coming from the man with no core political beliefs?
Below is a video of an interview Allen West conducted on Fox and Friends earlier today in which he spoke out against Barack Obama for implementing a version of the DREAM Act through executive order. In this video he speaks out against the president’s decision to politicize the illegal immigration issue and claims that Barack Obama is trying to balkanize the United States of America. Many of us around the blogosphere have stated that Barack Obama’s reelection strategy includes dividing the American people by race, sexual preference, and gender so that we could be more easily conquered, and that is precisely what his latest proclamation was designed to accomplish.
Thank you Allen West for standing up against this divisive strategy.
Gunrunner: Newly uncovered documents contradict the testimony of several government agencies on Fast and Furious
Most of the focus of Darrell Issa’s Fast and Furious investigation has been trained solely on Eric Holder and the Department of Injustice and Brian Terry’s murder, while Eric Holder deserves all the critical attention he is receiving, the truth is that Fast and Furious was a much bigger operation and Brian Terry isn’t the only American to fall victim to this deadly scandal. In October of 2011, while Janet Napolitano was under oath, we learned that Operation Fast and Furious was an OCDETF operation which required approval from several government agencies including the DEA, FBI, ICE, BATFE, US Marshals Service, IRS, Coast Guard, and the DOJ. Fast and Furious was simply not the rash actions of rogue agents in the field as Eric Holder would have us believe.
While under oath Janet Napolitano stated that as far as she knew there was no connection between Operation Fast and Furious and the murder of Jamie Zapata, but of course it turned out that two of the weapons found at the scene were in fact sold to the drug cartels by the federal government as part of the deadly operation. And now newly uncovered documents show that several months before he was killed Jamie Zapata actually interdicted 80 weapons as they were crossing over the border into Mexico, 50 of which were sold under Operation Fast and Furious. Jamie Zapata actually filled out and signed the report, clearly he had a brush with Fast and Furious shortly before his murder.
Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was gunned down on December 14th of 2010 and died the next day, four months after Jamie Zapata uncovered the Fast and Furious weapons crossing the border, and several months later Jamie Zapata was also dead. That’s interesting…..
Mitt Romney came out against Barack Obama yesterday for implementing the DREAM Act through Executive Order, but does he actually oppose the DREAM Act itself? Here is what Mitt Romney said:
I believe the status of young people who come here through no fault of their own is an important matter to be considered and should be solved on a long-term basis, so they know what their future would be in this country,” Romney said in a statement provided to The Daily Caller. “I think the action that the president took today makes it more difficult to reach that long-term solution because an executive order is, of course, just a short-term matter — it can be reversed by subsequent presidents
He is only opposed to Barack Obama’s action yesterday because it isn’t permanent enough for him, another president could step in and reverse the DREAM Act whereas he wants to see it much more stable and irreversible. It seems Mitt Romney’s biggest problem with the DREAM Act isn’t with the act itself but the manner in which Barack Obama implemented it.
What would Mitt Romney do as president?
If I’m president, we’ll do our very best to have that kind of long-term solution that provides certainty and clarity for the people who come into this country through no fault of their own by virtue of the action of their parents
I suppose this means he would work with the Congress to pass DREAM Act legislation, and while that is the proper way to go about it and much more acceptable to me than an Executive Order, the bottom line is the DREAM Act is still the DREAM Act and when it comes to this issue Barack Obama, Marco Rubio, and Mitt Romney all seem to agree on the basic structure of this legislation.
Whenever the issue of comprehensive immigration reform or the DREAM Act comes up supporters of the legislation–be it John McCain, George W Bush, Marco Rubio, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Barack Obama, or Newt Gingrich–like to claim that while the legislation may provide a path towards citizenship it is not an amnesty bill.
So when Barack Obama bypassed the Congress and implemented the DREAM Act through dictate the supporters naturally came out and declared this was not amnesty. Janet Napolitano was one of those people and here is what she had to say:
This grant of deferred action is not immunity, it is not amnesty,” Napolitano said. “It is an exercise of discretion so that these young people are not in the removal system
Individuals who meet this criteria will not be placed in removal [deportation] proceedings and will not be removed [deported] from the United States
According to Janet Napolitano a group of people who meet a certain criteria will not be subjected to facing prosecution or punishment for having not met the laws required to enter the United States and this is considered a deferred action and is not amnesty. I thought I would take a few minutes to look up the accepted definition of amnesty and here is what I found:
1.a general pardon for offenses, especially political offenses, against a government, often granted before any trial or conviction.
2.Law . an act of forgiveness for past offenses, especially to a class of persons as a whole.
3.a forgetting or overlooking of any past offense
Rep. Steve King plans to sue Barack Obama for implementing the DREAM Act through Executive Order
When we learned earlier today that Barack Obama had decided to once again bypass the Congress and rule the nation by dictate by passing the DREAM Act through Executive Order one of the things I was watching for was the reaction of those in the Congress. To my disappointment, with the exception of Allen West and Lindsey Graham, the members of the Congress remained surprisingly silent but that might be about to change.
Rep. Steve King has announced that he plans to sue the Obama regime to halt the implementation of this new law.
I will tell you that — I’m not without experience on this — I’m prepared to bring a suit and seek a court order to stop implementation of this policy,” King said
“I have done it once in the past successfully when then-Governor Tom Vilsack thought he could legislate by executive order — and the case of King vs. Vilsack is in the books. And that individual, by the way, is now the Secretary of Agriculture. I wonder if he’s not counseling the president on his legal proceedings.”
Huckabee followed up, asking King: “You plan to sue this administration for implementing something that you believe should have required legislative process and approval?”
“That is correct,” King replied
As you can read in the above quote Steve King is not without experience on this issue as he has successfully sued the governor of his state when he tried to overstep his authority and rule by dictate, so it does seem as if a precedent has been set. There is no doubt in my mind that Barack Obama is breaking new ground with his use of the Executive Order because he is not issuing orders on how to execute various laws and functions of the government, but rather he is actually writing new law and it is unacceptable for him to bypass the Congress. He is abusing the power he has been entrusted with by the American people and he must be held accountable.
Hopefully more members of the Congress will join Steve King and demand that Barack Obama halt what I believe to be an unconstitutional power grab.
Back in July of 2011 Barack Obama addressed La Razza–which literally translates to The Race–and spoke about comprehensive immigration reform and during this speech he said the following:
The idea of doing things on my own is very tempting, I promise you, not just on immigration reform. But that’s not how our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions
Less than one month later Barack Obama succumbed to the temptation when he decided he didn’t give a damn how our republic functions when he bypassed the Congress and issued an Executive Order loosening the immigration laws and granting illegal aliens de facto amnesty. In Barack Obama’s mind this was a good start toward a larger goal and earlier today he advanced a little bit further toward the end game when he once again bypassed the Congress and implemented the DREAM Act through Executive Order.
The DREAM Act has been debated in the Congress several times in the past and because it is so unpopular with a vast majority of the voters the Congress has been unable to pass it. Even George W Bush tried to pass the DREAM Act after the Democrats won the majority in the Congress after the 2006 election and was forced to abandon the act.
After failing to learn from his disastrous decision to spend billions of dollars of stimulus money on green energy companies which have either failed or are about to fail Barack Obama is at it once again, this time in the form of Department of Energy grants. And, although the grants don’t amount to nearly the same amount of money as the failed stimulus loans there is a glaring similarity, much of the money is going to people who just happen to have ties to Barack Obama.
According to this article one company got four times as much money ($2 million) than the average company which received grants from the Department of Energy under this new initiative; that company is called Solar Mosaic and just happens to have ties to the communist sympathizing, 9/11 truther, and former Barack Obama “green czar,” Van Jones. What a coincidence!
When Barack Obama was running for the office he now holds he railed against crony capitalism and promised to bring this practice to an end, but if there is one thing the stimulus bill taught us it is that crony capitalism is alive and well in Washington, the only change Barack Obama has brought us is a change in where our money is going.
