Gunrunner: Did the Obama regime grant the Sinaloa drug cartel immunity and allow drugs to be walked into the United States?
Jesus Zambada-Niebla is a member of the Sinaloa drug cartel who is sitting in jail awaiting trial on drug trafficking charges. He contends that he–and the Sinaloa drug cartel—was granted immunity by the federal government as part of Operation Fast and Furious and has requested that the Department of “Justice” release documents which would prove his claim and aid his defense.
He claims that the United States government not only allowed guns to walk into Mexico, but also sold the weapons to the drug cartel and allowed them to keep operating in the United States with immunity in return for information on smaller drug cartels:
Mr. Zambada-Niebla believes that the documentation that he requests will confirm that the weapons received by Sinaloa Cartel members and its leaders in Operation ‘Fast & Furious’ were provided under the agreement entered into between the United States government and [a Mexican lawyer] on behalf of the Sinaloa Cartel that is the subject of his defense …,” it said.
“Mr. Zambada-Niebla believes that the documentation will also provide evidence showing that the United States government has a policy and pattern of providing benefits, including immunity, to cartel leaders, including the Sinaloa Cartel and their members, who are willing to provide information against rival drug cartels
Normally I would question the credibility and the validity of a claim made against the United States government by a man who is a member of a gun running, drug trafficking, criminal organization as a man who is obviously lying in order to protect his ass, but it must be remembered that Eric Holder is also a member of a gun running, drug trafficking, criminal organization who is lying in order to protect his own ass as well and it lends Jesus Zambada-Niebla instant credibility in my opinion.
The stimulus bill created a DOE national database: Will the government start tracking our children?
Continuing on my “Big Brother is watching” theme from my last post:
Would it bother you to know that the federal Centers for Disease Control had been shown your daughter’s health records to see how she responded to an STD/teen-pregnancy-prevention program? How about if the federal Department of Education and Department of Labor scrutinized your son’s academic performance to see if he should be “encouraged” to leave high school early to learn a trade? Would you think the government was intruding on your territory as a parent?
Under regulations the Obama Department of Education released this month, these scenarios could become reality. The department has taken a giant step toward creating a de facto national student database that will track students by their personal information from preschool through career. Although current federal law prohibits this, the department decided to ignore Congress and, in effect, rewrite the law. Student privacy and parental authority will suffer.
So if federal law prohibits the sharing of private information how is the Obama regime planning on ignoring the law? The answer to that question is quite disturbing to say the least:
Buried within the enormous 2009 stimulus bill were provisions encouraging states to develop data systems for collecting copious information on public-school kids. To qualify for stimulus money, states had to agree to build such systems according to federally dictated standards. So all 50 states either now maintain or are capable of maintaining extensive databases on public-school students.
The Obama regime bribed the states to give up their 10th amendment right by threatening to withhold stimulus money if they didn’t comply with this new regulation, and the states fell right in line. The federal government is denying that it will use these databases to infringe on the privacy of the students and the rights of the parents, but I ask you; why would the federal government demand states set up these databases if they did not intend to use them one day? It is absurd to think otherwise. It is time for the Congress to reassert its authority and reign in this ever expanding federal government.

DHS is creating fake Twitter and Facebook profiles in order to track American citizens
Matt over at Conservative Hideout had a post this morning called, “SOPA and the Blogger: Potential for Censorship?” and in this post he questioned whether SOPA would one day he used to censor websites and blogs which were opposed to the government. In case you are not familiar with SOPA: SOPA is an acronym for the Stop Online Piracy Act and its intent is to do just that, crack down on websites which are illegally distributing copyrighted music and movies. And while this is a just cause Matt has a great point.
There is one thing that we know about the federal government and government agencies; once they have a power not only do they not relinquish that power but they expand that power. Is it unreasonable to believe that the scope of SOPA would one day be used to crack down on more than just piracy website, even reaching into political blogs and websites which the government takes offense to?
It may sound paranoid but I don’t think so, especially when you couple it with this story about how the Department of Homeland Security is already creating fake profiles on Twitter and Facebook and searching for certain “sensitive” words and then tracking the people who use these words. Read more…
Next? Here comes Rick Santorum
With the exception of Mitt Romney the Republican primary season has been a roller coaster ride for many presidential hopefuls. Michele Bachman entered the race to high expectations and captured a win in the Iowa straw poll before falling into obscurity, Rick Perry also entered the race to high expectations before faltering in the debates and falling in the polls. Then came Herman Cain and after his fall along came New Gingrich; both enjoyed a short-lived surge to the top of the polls. With Newt Gingrich’s fall came the rise of Ron Paul and his support seems to be holding steady in second place and he most likely isn’t going to suffer a drop off.
But those who are unimpressed with the frontrunners are still looking for an alternative and now we seem to have another candidate who is beginning to surge in the polls, and that man is none other than a man who I truly like–Rick Santorum. The latest Iowa poll shows Rick Santorum in third place behind both Romney and Paul with 16% of the vote.
Ben Nelson will not seek reelection: What does it mean in the long run?
In what is being called a huge blow to the chances of the Democrats holding onto the Senate we learned today that Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson will not seek reelection in 2012. While normally I would agree that the news of an incumbent not seeking reelection would be a huge chance for the opposition party to win that seat I am not sure this is the case.
Ben Nelson was in trouble and the Republicans already felt that his seat was one of the most vulnerable in the Senate. While Ben Nelson probably felt that he was going to be in a tough fight for reelection and decided he wasn’t up to the fight ahead, I feel that this might actually offer the Democrats a better chance at holding onto the seat.
The sad state of the Republican party: Only Mitt Romney and Ron Paul qualify for the Virginia primary
Late last week the deadline for turning in the required signatures to qualify for the Virginia primary came and went and it turns out that only two candidates–Mitt Romney and Ron Paul–managed to gather the proper signatures. They will be the only two candidates on the ballot.
All of these candidates knew what the rules were and yet only two of them managed to have staffers do the legwork necessary for them to appear on what is considered one of the most important battleground states? This is unforgivable and an embarrassment, not only to those who failed to qualify, but to the party as a whole.

Solargate: Navy forced to purchase biofuel even though it is nine times more expensive
I have written several posts on the Solargate scandal and Barack Obama’s misuse of the stimulus money to promote his radical “green energy initiative.” The same “green energy initiative” which just happens to line the pockets of major Democrat contributors and protects their investments and allows them to funnel the money back into the campaign coffers of Democrats while leaving the American taxpayers on the hook for the loses once the companies fail. Well, its been awhile since we have heard anything about Solargate, but it is back again and this time it involves the Navy.
Because of the predicted failure of the Super Committee $500 billion in cuts to military spending were triggered and what does the Obama regime decide to do when the military is trying to decide where to make these mandated cuts? They are moving forward with their plan to purchase 450,000 gallons of biofuel for the jet fighters.
Gunrunner: Congressman asks Eric Holder if Fast and Furious was racially motivated
Eric Holder once called America a nation of cowards when it comes to Americans having a conversation about race, but when push came to shove and Eric Holder started to feel the heat for Operation Fast and Furious he himself took the cowardly way out; instead of admitting his mistake (if you believe it was a mistake in the first place, with the exception of Brian Terry’s death I believe Operation Fast and Furious was proceeding exactly as Eric Holder had hoped it would) and taking responsibility for the deadly operation he decided to play the race card, blaming racism for the criticism he was facing.
Apparently he doesn’t feel as if the death of 300+ Mexicans and two Americans–and Eric Holder admitted these deaths would probably not be the last–was not noteworthy on its face and callously stated that it is only because he is black that he is being persecuted.
If Eric Holder really was interested in learning the truth about Operation Fast and Furious he would be cooperating with the investigation, but instead he is stonewalling, obstructing justice, and tampering with evidence and he is doing this because he already knows the truth and he wants to hide it. It is my belief that Eric Holder and probably Barack Obama not only knew about the operation during its planning stages, but also condoned and authorized the plan which led to Brian Terry’s death.
So in an attempt to ameliorate the crisis he has found himself entwined in he decided to do what many people do when they are justly accused of committing a crime–he threw out the race card in an attempt to portray himself as the victim because he felt it would intimidate people and cause them to stop questioning him, but this has only served to ratchet up the controversy and deepen his personal crisis.
