Frank Guinta wins in New Hampshire!
AP and Fox News are now both calling the first congressional district for the United States House of Representatives in New Hampshire for Republican candidate Frank Guinta!
He has defeated Democrat Carol Shea-Porter by a fairly large margin. This is a great pick up for New Hampshire Republicans; Carol Shea-Porter rode the anti-Bush sentiment into power four years ago and also rode the Obama wave to reelection in 2008. This is a referendum on the Obama regime from the citizens of New Hampshire.
This victory coupled with the win over former Congressman Paul Hodes–who along with Carol Shea-Porter voted with Nancy Pelosi over 90% of the time–by Kelly Ayotte, sends a clear signal to Washington that New Hampshire is rejecting the Obama regime’s radical agenda and lends me hope that Charlie Bass will be able to pull out a narrow victory over a woman who does not feel that Barack Obama is liberal enough–Annie Kuster.
So far, it has been a great night in New Hampshire; we are still waiting for the results of CD2 and state races to be called, but the early results are encouraging!
First New Hampshire results are in: Ayotte and Lynch win
Fox News has made its first call in the New Hampshire elections and we have one win for Democrats and one win for Republicans. It comes as no surprise to me that Governor John Lynch has already been declared the winner, he has held a double digit lead all along and it looks as if this lead is going to hold.
If all goes well in the rest of the state races, this win by Governor Lynch will be offset by gains in the State House, Senate, and Executive Council. If the Republicans are able to make the gains expected, Governor Lynch will be forced to move back towards the center. This in itself will be a small victory although not a complete victory. The rest of the state races will decide how big of a defeat this is for Republicans at the state level.
The bigger news here is the fact that Republican Kelly Ayotte has already been declared the winner of Democrat Paul Hodes. This is a hold for national Republicans as Kelly Ayotte will be replacing the retiring Republican Senator Judd Gregg, but this is a huge win for Republicans in New Hampshire. Paul Hodes was a two term congressman from the second district in New Hampshire, the voters knew where Paul Hodes stood on the issues; he voted with Nancy Pelosi over 90% of the time and they have rejected him. And this means that the early signs show New Hampshire voters rejecting Barack Obama’s agenda and this looks good in the races that are still too close to call.
It is beginning to look like a good night in New Hampshire but it is still early.
Federal judge questions the Justice Department’s suit against the Arizona immigration law
When the Obama regime announced that it would sue the state of Arizona over its new controversial immigration law I was one person that thought the federal government would probably win its case because federal law trumps state law.
When a judge ordered a stay against the most controversial parts of the law I felt justified in my position, but today a federal judge is questioning the Obama regime’s lawsuit against the beleaguered state.
Dwight D Eisenhower’s November 2nd 2010 Order of the Day
This is a concept that I used in January when Massachusetts voters headed to the polls to elect Scott Brown and I have decided to use it one more time as we head to the polls in an attempt to begin the process of taking back our country. This is Dwight D Eisenhower’s Order of the Day from June 6th, 1944 tweaked just a little to fit the occasion:
Residents, Citizens and Voters of America! You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the nation are upon you.
The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you.
In spirit with our brave Allies and brothers-in-arms in all of the states, you will bring about the destruction of the Democrat party machine, the elimination of liberal tyranny over the conservative peoples of America, and security for ourselves in a free world.
Your task will not be an easy one. Your opponent is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened. They will fight savagely.
But this is the year 2010! Much has happened since the Democrat triumphs of 2006-08. The Democrats have inflicted upon the Americans great defeats, from healthcare reform to the stimulus bill. Our offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the country and their capacity to pass their liberal agenda.
Our Home Fronts have given us overwhelming superiority in the minds of the people, and placed at our disposal great reserves of tea party fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the country are marching together to Victory!
Please everyone head to the polls today, while all of the polls look good for Republicans we cannot take anything for granted. We have been laughed at for a year and a half by people who were trying to marginalize us, but today it is our turn to be heard, and let us make sure we are the ones laughing at the end of the day. Remember, Barack Obama called us the enemy last week, let us show him that we can fight back!

Kelly Ayotte opens 18 point lead over Paul Hodes
The Republican candidate for United States Senate, Kelly Ayotte, has been enjoying a double digit lead over her Democrat counterpart, Paul Hodes, since she won the Republican primary. She has consistently held at least a ten point lead and Paul Hodes has not been able to close the gap, and now the latest poll is out and it shows that Kelly Ayotte increased her lead to eighteen points on the eve of the midterm election.
According to this acticle, Kelly Ayotte leads Paul Hodes by a margin of 54-36%. This has got to be extremely troubling news for Paul Hodes, because Paul Hodes and his record are well known to New Hampshire voters and this poll appears to be a repudiation of Paul Hodes’s record in Washington.
Most of the experts are predicting big gains for New Hampshire Republicans tomorrow. The polls show us that most likely the Republicans will gain control of the State House, State Senate, and Executive Council, along with holding the lone United States Senate seat up for grabs and picking up at least one seat in the United States House of Representatives, with a good chance that New Hampshire Republicans will pick up both United States House of Representative seats.
The one bright side for New Hampshire Democrats is that all of the polls have shown Democrat Governor John Lynch holding a consistent double digit lead over Republican challenger John Stephen. Most of the experts are predicting that Governor Lynch will hold on for an unprecedented fourth term, but the Republican higher-ups in the state have been claiming for weeks now that this race is much closer than the polls show and have been predicting a John Stephen upset on November 2nd.
The Witching Hour is upon us!
Taking a break from politics, I thought I would share with you the two pumpkin carvings that we did yesterday. I decided to do one traditional carving and one 3D carving.
Earlier this year heavy metal music lost one of its icons, the man with the most powerful voice in heavy metal music of all time–Ronnie James Dio. It only seemed fitting that the man who sung so often about the struggle between good and evil, light and darkness, demons and gods, and heaven and hell should be remembered on a day such as Halloween. So without further adieu, my traditional Jack-O-Lantern:
I do have to admit that this idea was not mine; my oldest son, Andy, came up to me with a picture that he had saved as his wallpaper on his laptop for the Halloween season, it was a Dio carving in a pumpkin so we decided to copy it.
Last year I made my first attempt at a 3D carving of a pumpkin and for a subject I chose General Patton. To be perfectly honest the pumpkin carving looked nothing like General Patton except possibly his trademark scowl, but after all it was my first attempt at something like this.
So this year–returning to politics, I guess–I decided to try to carve an image of Jimmy McMillan, now known throughout the cyber world as “the rent is too damn high guy.” If you don’t know who he is, just go to youtube and search “the rent is too damn high.”

Not very good, I know, and it really doesn’t look like him but the important thing here is that we had fun.

The Union Leader has made its predictions for the November 2nd midterm election and the results–if accurate–are great news, although not perfect.
According to this article, New Hampshire Republicans can expect to pick up 53 seats in the State House of Representatives, which will give Republicans a 226-147 majority. Currently the Democrats enjoy a 216-173 majority.
In the State Senate the Union Leader is predicting a total reversal, with Democrats going from a 14-10 majority to a 14-10 Republican majority. The New Hampshire Republican party is predicting a 16-8 or 17-7 majority but that seems to be out of reach.
The New Hampshire Union Leader is predicting that the Executive Council, which is currently held by the Democrats 3-2, will swing into Republican control by 4-1 majority.
Moving on to the United States seats, the Union Leader is predicting Republican Kelly Ayotte to defeat Democrat Paul Hodes for the United States senate seat by a margin of 56-42%
They are also predicting Republican Frank Guinta to defeat Democrat Carol Shea-Porter in the race for first district United States representative by a 54-45% margin.
But the predictions aren’t all good for the Republican candidates in New Hampshire. In the second congressional district–historically a much more liberal district than the first district–the Union Leader is predicting Democrat Ann Kuster to defeat Republican Charlie Bass in a close race by a 50-48% margin. The feeling here is that this is an anti-incumbent wave and because Charlie Bass is an ex-representative Ann Kuster has done a good job at portraying Charlie Bass as an inside Washington politician. I am still holding out hope that Charlie Bass is going to pull this out.
And then there is the race for governor, which pits Democrat John Lynch–who is looking to become the first four term governor in state history–against John Stephen. The New Hampshire Union Leader is predicting a fourth term for John Lynch, claiming that he will win by a margin of 51-48%. This is a much closer margin than I think he will win by and gives me hope that late breaking voters may be able to put John Stephen over the top.
All in all, if these predictions come close to fruition it will be a great day–albeit not perfect–for the state of New Hampshire. If the New Hampshire House of Representatives, New Hampshire Senate, and the Executive Council all fall into the hands of the Republican party it will force the lone Democrat standing, Governor John Lynch, back into the center where he began his career before the Democrat gains over the last four years.
He will no longer be able to spend as much as he wishes–as he has over the last four years–because an Executive Council comprised of a 4-1 Republican majority will control the purse strings and force him to become more fiscally responsible.
If these predictions are accurate, New Hampshire may be on the road back to sanity, this is a great start but it is just that–a start. It has taken New Hampshire several years to get to this point and it will take us a few election cycles to turn this ship around. But New Hampshire appears to be on the right track, the process begins on November 2nd but it will not end until we take back this state.
The polls continue to show Republican Kelly Ayotte leading Democrat Paul Hodes by about fifteen points in the New Hampshire senate race to replace the retiring Republican Senator Judd Gregg.
The situation appears so dire for Paul Hodes that Barack Obama isn’t going to waste a trip up to the Granite State to stump for Paul Hodes, opting instead to make a statement via a telephone Town Hall meeting that Paul Hodes has scheduled for the Monday before the election.
According to this Union Leader article, the president is not expected to hang around long enough to take questions from those that choose to participate in Paul Hodes’s last ditch effort to close the gap on Kelly Ayotte. It sounds as if he will make an opening statement and then depart, leaving Paul Hodes to answer questions on his own.
