John Kerry claims America is in a period of “know-nothingism”
I don’t know about you, but I am getting damned sick and tired of listening to the Democrats in Washinton–from the president on down–and the media insult us because we do not agree with the Obama regime’s agenda. The president himself has said that we are basically scared stupid and told his supporters that we are not thinking straight; Katie Couric derided the middle of the country as the “unwashed masses”; Bill Maher stated something to the effect of, “Democrats exist to drag the hillbillies into the next century”; and then there are all of the “teabagger” slurs that have been leveled against us by both the media and Democrat politicians.
Now John Kerry has weighed in on those of us who are just too stupid to vote for Democrats next week.
Nancy Pelosi may retire if Democrats lose control of the House
As if we needed any more incentive to vote next Tuesday, it is now being speculated that if the Democrats lose control of the House Nancy Pelosi will retire. Not just give up her gavel mind you, she may retire altogether from the House.
With several Democrats stating publicly that they will not vote for her as Speaker of the House if Democrats somehow manage to hold on to their majority, and with many Democrats refusing to state their support for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, it seems as if there it a looming power struggle growing within the ranks of House Democrats. It has been reported that if the Democrats do hold onto the House that Nancy Pelosi would not seek another term as Speaker, but this news takes this election to another level. This news raises the stakes of this election even higher.
Barney Frank loans his campaign $200,000

The polls show Barney Frank with anywhere from a ten to twelve point lead over his opponent, Sean Bielat. This would seem like a safe lead for any incumbent politician to enjoy, but is it? Barney Frank must not think so because in the closing days of the campaign he has loaned himself $200,ooo.
He claims that he was forced to do this in order to fight off attacks from outside groups, but he had much more money than his unknown opponent so there must be more to this story than Barney Frank’s spin. After all, aren’t all candidates the “victims” of outside attacks? This is nothing new but it seems to provide Barney Frank some cover from the truth.
With Frank Guinta remaining ahead of incumbant Democrat Carol Shea-Porter by fifteen points in the race for the first district US House seat, Democrats are desperately looking for a way to bring Frank Guinta down. Realizing that they are losing on the issues and realizing that if this campaign remains focused on the issue they will most certainly lose, they have resorted to a last ditch dirty trick to try to pull voters away from Frank Guinta.
Last July Frank Guinta amended his financial disclosure report to include a bank account worth up to $500,000 that he had failed to report. I will be the first to admit that I do not understand how a person could have forgotten about a bank account somewhere in the neighborhood of $500,000 and that this is certainly a black eye on Frank Guinta and his campaign. But was this a simple oversight, or was there something more nefarious going on behind the scenes?
New Hampshire governor lends his campaign $800,000
While polling shows that New Hampshire Republicans stand to make huge gains in next Tuesday’s election, there is one person who seems to be likely to withstand the purge, and that is New Hampshire’s Democrat governor, John Lynch. Immediately following the New Hampshire Republican primary the polls showed Republican candidate John Stephen within striking distance of John Lynch but recent polling by UNH has John Lynch leading by ten points.
It seems inevitable that John Lynch will win an unprecedented fourth term as governor, but there is one telltale sign that all may not be well with John Lynch’s re-election campaign; a sign that tells us that John Lynch’s internal polling may show this race is tighter than the liberal leaning UNH poll cares to admit.
Illegal immigrants cost Massachusetts taxpayers $38 million a year under RomneyCare, is this to be expected under ObamaCare?
When the healthcare reform bill was being debated in the Congress it was said that Massachusetts’ healthcare system–which mandates that all residents buy healthcare insurance–was the model that the national bill was based on. If this is true than I think it is fair to look at how effective the Massachusetts law has been in order to predict or determine how the national bill law will perform.
To do this I would like to juxtapose two stories that have been in the news in Massachusetts recently. The first story comes from the Boston Herald and it is about how much the taxpaying residents of Massachusetts are paying to provide healthcare benefits to illegal aliens. According to a report that was grudgingly released by the Deval Patrick regime, illegal aliens have cost the taxpayers of Massachusetts nearly $37 million this year alone!
Twenty states are in the process of challenging the constitutionality of the healthcare mandates written into law with the passage of the healthcare reform legislation. The Obama regime was trying to get the lawsuits thrown out, but a judge recently ruled that the cases can move forward because there is enough of a concern over the legality over the mandates for the courts to become involved.
A recently released report by the Congressional Research Service also raises questions about the constitutionality of the healthcare mandates, as well as the two angles that the Obama regime is trying to pursue in their defense of the mandates–that the commerce clause gives them the authority to mandate healthcare coverage and that the Congress’ enumerated power of taxation in the constitution gives the regime the power to impose a penalty on people who refuse to buy healthcare coverage–leading to speculation on this blog that the Obama regime knew all along that these mandates could be ruled unconstitutional and moved forward with them despite this possibility.
Court rules Arizona’s proof of citizenship requirement for voter registration violates federal law
Earlier today the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Arizona’s law which required people to show proof of citizenship when they registered to vote violates the federal law known as the National Voter Registration Act. The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Arizona law–which was passed by the voters in 2004 and is not part of the controversial immigration law that is currently being challenged by the Obama regime–provided an “additional hurdle” to people who wish to vote and is in direct conflict with the federal law which looks to reduce “state-imposed obstacles” to people who are looking to register to vote.
At the same time the court did rule that the Arizona law which requires people to show a valid ID card when they go to the polls to cast their vote was not in violation of the 14th amendment, so that is a partial victory but it does not lessen the effects of this disastrous ruling. By the time illegal aliens show up at the polls with their ill-gotten identification cards the horse will have been let out of the barn because they will have already registered to vote. At this point people who should have no right to vote will not be stopped from voting, so there is little solace in the fact that people will still be required to show ID cards.
Nancy Pelosi claims Democrats aren’t getting the credit they deserve
During a recent interview Nancy Pelosi claimed that Democrats have not gotten the credit they deserve for all they have done over the last two years.

After reading this, I decided that now would be a great time to recap all of the Democrats’ accomplishments since Barack Obama became president.
- They have increased the national debt by $5 trillion
- They bailed out the automaker’s industry at the expense of the taxpayers and took over control of GM
- They bailed out Wall Street at the expense of the taxpayers
- They bailed out the financial institutions at the expense of the taxpayers
- They passed financial reform that exempted the two biggest culprits in the mortgage meltdown
- Expanded the Afghanistan war while at the same time implementing ROE that have tied the hands of our heroes on the battlefield
- passed healthcare reform against the will of the people
And they accomplished all of this while ignoring the economy and the plight of ordinary Americans who are struggling to find work as the looming tax increases that they refuse to stop have businesses afraid to hire new employees.
Don’t worry Mrs. Speaker, you will be getting exactly what you deserve on November 2nd!
Deficit committee may recommend abolishing the mortgage and child care tax deductions
It was reported over the weekend that during his second two years in office Barack Obama is going to focus on reducing the national deficit. This is welcome news indeed in light of the fact that since Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid gained power the Democrats have increased the national debt by $5 trillion.
Barack Obama has even commissioned a committee to explore ways to reduce the national debt, but unfortunately it appears very likely that instead of focusing on cutting Washington’s out of control spending this commission will focus on finding ways to increase the revenue flow into Washington. In other words, there is the very real possibility that ALL Americans–even those who earn well under the $250,ooo mark–will be facing higher taxes.
