Martin Luther King’s niece is quiet angry at President Obama for reversing the ban on federal money being used to fund abortions in other countries.
Over 45 years ago, my uncle, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., wrote from a Birmingham jail cell that ‘injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere,’” King said in a prepared statement. “Today, there is no greater injustice than that suffered by the 4,000 babies, 1,400 of them black, who die on any given day at the hands of abortionists
Those are some harsh words coming from the niece of MLK, and using his famous letter from the Birmingham jail is doubly critical. Alveda King was in front of this White House ready to hold a press conference once the president signed the executive order. But guess why? She had to hold the press conference before he signed the order because he waited until night time to sign it.
While Obama was expected to issue the order sometime Friday, he did not actually do so until around 7:00 p.m. that night–when weekly news coverage is at a minimum.
Now that is what I call leadership. Wrong! This coward of a president delayed the signing of a controversial order until it would receive the least coverage, this coming after he delayed signing the order from Thursday to Friday to avoid the pro-life demonstrators who were outside protesting on the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. President Obama had a chance to stand up and take a position on this issue but he chose to hide his stance from as many people he could by cowing in a darkened corner of the White House and signing the order when nobody was looking.
President Obama Snubs Medal of Honor Recipients
During the post inauguration party time with all of the inauguration balls and the hoopla and the festivities the newly sworn in president can’t be expected to make an appearance at ever ball. That’s okay, it is understandable.
But in this instance it was not okay for the new president to snub this particular ball.
the American Legion, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and the Paralyzed Veterans of America, as well as other veteran’s groups, were sponsoring their gala that has coincided with the inaugural evening since Eisenhower took office in 1953. In total, nine presidents and 56 years have gone by, and each inaugural evening the new president arrived to thank the veterans and Medal of Honor recipients in attendance. As one of the “unofficial” balls, it meant quite a bit to have the president show up and make an appearance.
President Obama became the first president ever to miss the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball since it’s inception. And it is unforgivable. This man is now the commander-in-chief and to show such a disregard to the veterans who have earned the nation’s highest honor is just despicable. Especially when you consider who he would rather have been seen with:
To forgo a tradition of greeting the veterans who’ve received the highest honor in order to attend galas featuring Hollywood elites was just a bit too much to bear.
This man doesn’t appreciate the veterans that he now commands and these veterans, and many civilian Americans who still do appreciate the military, are not happy about not only this slight but others.
The new president’s perceived “slights” against the military havemade veterans and military members quite sensitive to how President Obama treats them. From calling for a pullout from Iraq during the campaign to forgoing a visit to injured GWOT vets in Germany.
Even in his inaugural address to the nation, he mentioned the sacrifices of veterans of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, but failed to mention (or deliberately ignored) the veterans of our current sacrifice in Iraq and Afghanistan. That gives more credence to the feeling that he just no longer cares about the sacrifices being made on behalf of our country and the service that so many Americans have made over the years.
President Obama still has allot to learn about our men and women in uniform, those that are willing to fight and die for our country. Some day he may have to call upon them. Maybe then he will appreciate them. For now a simple apology would be a start.
Where Does Barack Obama Stand on the Second Amendment Part 4 (Ammo Accountability Legislation)
I have asked the question, where does Barack Obama stand on the second amendment several times now. But now comes this story and we have to ask the question once again. Where does Barack Obama stand on the second amendment?
The latest attempt to breech the second amendment comes in the form of ammunition accountability or identification legislation. This type of legislation has come up in different states before and each time it was shot down (pardon the pun) but now with expanded Democrats majorities the issue is back on the table and who knows what may happen.
Here are some of the details of what is included in the legislation:
People would be required to forfeit all personally-owned non-encoded ammunition. After a certain date, it would be illegal to possess non-encoded ammunition. Gun owners possess hundreds of millions of rounds of ammunition for target shooting, hunting and personal protection. Consider that American manufacturers produce 8 billion rounds each year.
Reloading (re-using cartridge cases multiple times) would be abolished. There would be no way to correspond serial numbers on cartridge cases, and different sets and quantities of bullets.
People would be required to separately register every box of “encoded ammunition.” This information would be supplied to the police. Most states do not even require registration of guns. Each box of ammunition would have a unique serial number, thus a separate registration.
Private citizens would have to maintain records, if they sold ammunition to anyone, including family members or friends.
The cost of ammunition would soar, for police and private citizens alike. The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturing Institute estimates it would take three weeks to produce ammunition currently produced in a single day. For reason of cost, manufacturers would produce only ultra-expensive encoded ammunition, which police would have to buy, just like everyone else.
Gun owners would have to register their ammo and reloading would become illegal. This is an attack on the second amendment. It is starting at the state level but will it stop there? Does President Obama agree with this type of legislation? His track record is very anti-second amendment no matter what he tries to claim now. So again I ask President Obama, where do you stand on the second amendment?

While this story of the classical band lip-syncing the music at President Obama’s inauguration is trivial and of no consequence whatsoever, I find the symbolic aspect between this and President Obama to be striking.
When listening to the band play you thought that what you heard was beautiful and flawless. Damn did it sound good. But then you found out that what you were listening to wasn’t what you thought that you were listening to. It was a hoax. A fraud. The band pulled the wool over everyones eyes.
I can’t help but think about how perfect an analogy this draws to President Obama. When he speaks he sounds good, he sounds flawless but much like the band at his inauguration there is nothing there. There is no substance to his words, he is an empty suit. He also is a fraud. Candidate Obama pulled the wool over everyones eyes.
I can’t help but think that President Obama couldn’t have picked a better band to play at his inauguration. They are two peas in a pod.
President Obama’s Approval Rating Plummets
President Obama’s first approval ratings are out and 68% of Americans have a favorable opinion of the job that he has done so far. It goes without saying that this is a very good number but it is also 15 points lower than his approval rating just last week, when it was at 83%.
This number of 68% is much more of a normal number than the unrealistic 83% was. Now that President Obama has to actually govern and take sides on the issues he will naturally fall in the polls. As people begin to realize his positions and not just hear his rhetoric I expect the number to keep falling.
Leading Environmentalist Claims Carbon Credits Are a Scam
James Lovelock, a leading environmentalist and believer in man-made global warming, says that the idea of using carbon credits is nothing but a scam.
Most of the “green” stuff is verging on a gigantic scam. Carbon trading, with its huge government subsidies, is just what finance and industry wanted. It’s not going to do a damn thing about climate change, but it’ll make a lot of money for a lot of people and postpone the moment of reckoning
This is coming from a believer in the man-made global warming theory. Even if you believe that global warming is real this has to make you take a second look at the means behind solving this crisis. It has been my belief, and it still is, that the whole global warming issue is nothing but a scam to separate you and I from our money and make it easier to control our behaviors through regulations and fees. Even if I give to you the point that global warming is real and is man-made for the sake of argument, the man who is credited with saving the ozone layer still says that the proposed solutions are nothing but a scam.
Is there any wonder why they call it the green movement? It is going to make certain people very rich.
The Media is Getting Frustrated With President Obama
The media is growing more and more frustrated by the extremely image conscious president. Before President Obama was President Obama there were signs that Obama was tiring of the media and then yesterday Obama snapped at the media, but now the tables are turning on him.
The media is now questioning Obama on his pledge of transparency and it all started because the president gave his only post-election interview with ABC, the network which just happened to donate $2 million to one of the inaugural balls. The media called this a pay to play scheme.
ABC, which paid millions to host the DC Neighborhood Ball, was granted the only inauguration day interview with President Obama – a move he equated to “pay to play.”
The tension with the media intensified after they were not invited to cover President Obama’s redo of the oath of office.
It is ironic, the same day that the president is talking about transparency, we were not let in,” CNN’s Ed Henry said on the air Wednesday night after news of the second swearing-in broke
How ironic is it that the media is solely responsible for getting Obama elected with their he-can-do-no-wrong-never-question-him attitude during the election and now that he is elected they are finding out something that many Americans already knew; when President Obama speaks he doesn’t say anything.
The media that is now complaining about President Obama’s lack of information never once pressed him for information on any of his policies or plans. He spoke in platitudes and generalities for the last two years while he was campaigning yet the media threw rose pedals at his feet in front of him. They never questioned him.
Now they are trying to get answers from him and there are none forthcoming and they are upset. It comes as no surprise to many of us that he would be so aloof, he was during the campaign. But the media never thought that he would do it to them and they are shocked.
President Obama must also be shocked at the media’s sudden decision to be critical of him after two years of the flowery, glowing, he can do nothing wrong coverage they had given him.
President Obama and the media deserve each other.
Former GITMO Detainee is Now a Leader of Al Qaeda
President Obama signed an executive order to close GITMO before he even decided what should be done with the terrorists that are being held there. This was a rash decision that he made to keep the far left wing of the Democrat party happy.
It has been reported that 61 former GITMO detainees have returned to the battlefield to fight against American troops. The most recent example is Said Ali al-Shihri, who is now a deputy leader for Al Qaeda.
al-Shihri was released and returned to Saudi Arabia where he went through (I am not making this up) a rehabilitation program for former Jihadists.
He was released to Saudi Arabia in 2007 and passed through a Saudi rehabilitation program for former jihadists before resurfacing with Al Qaeda in Yemen.
I guess the rehabilitation didn’t take. Maybe we should give him yet another chance. Maybe if President Obama can reason with him he will under go the rehabilitation program again. Perhaps President Obama can even find out why he hates America.
These are the type of people that we are keeping at GITMO and these are the people with whom President Obama has decided to take a stand with. These people are dangerous enemies of the United States and President Obama doesn’t even know what the hell he is going to do with them once the prison is closed.
President Obama Lifts Ban on Funding Overseas Abortions
Today President Obama lifted the ban on sending federal funding overseas to clinics that perform abortions.
In this tough economic time President Obama thought it would be wise to spend more of our tax dollars so that women in foreign countries can kill their babies. I tend to think that that money could be put to better use right here in the United States, and I also think that it is disgusting that my money is being used to perform such a despicable procedure.
If a woman wants to get an abortion that is her decision, but I sure as hell don’t feel as though I have to pay for it and if that woman is not even a citizen of this country it is doubly offensive to me.
The cowardly lion president was supposed to sign the bill yesterday but he didn’t have the balls to do it because there was a pro-life rally in Washington DC.
Obama avoided signing the executive order on Thursday, when thousands of pro-life activists came to Washington to mark the 36th anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion on demand
This executive order coupled with the executive order to close down GITMO tells us that President Obama cares more about the rights of terrorists who are enemies of the country than the rights of the most helpless among us, the babies.
President Obama Gets Angry at White House Press Corps
Our eloquent and gracious dear leader made a surprise visit to the White House press corps to show everyone how wonderful he was. But then something happened, a member of the press asked President Obama a tough question, a question that he didn’t like.
We all know how H feels about tough questions from the one or two times he was asked a tough question on the campaign trail. H doesn’t like to be asked tough questions. We also know that H has been growing tired of all of the media attention that now surrounds him, so is it really surprising that he snapped today when someone had the audacity (of hope) to ask him a question?
President Obama made a surprise visit to the White House press corps Thursday night, but got agitated when he was faced with a substantive question.
Asked how he could reconcile a strict ban on lobbyists in his administration with a Deputy Defense Secretary nominee who lobbied for Raytheon, Obama interrupted with a knowing smile on his face.
“Ahh, see,” he said, “I came down here to visit. See this is what happens. I can’t end up visiting with you guys and shaking hands if I’m going to get grilled every time I come down here.”
He threatens not to be their friend any more if they are going to grill him about the issues? This really is the fault of the media though. They befriended him and helped him win the presidency so now he feels as though they should be friendly and not question him. He is taken aback when they question the messiah.
But the reporter pressed on and dear leader grew more agitated:
Alright, come on” he said, with obvious irritation in his voice. “We will be having a press conference at which time you can feel free to [ask] questions. Right now, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to you guys – that’s all I was trying to do
In other words, no comment.
President Obama was saved by a reporter who managed to change the subject by doing what Obama had expected in the first place- kissing his ass:
The president was quickly saved by a cameraman in the room who called out: “I’d like to say it one more time: ‘Mr. President.’
A cameraman changes the subject by basically telling H how wonderful it sounds to call Barack Obama Mr. President. Now that is what President Obama had expected in the first place. Otherwise he wouldn’t have shown up.
