Democrats Begin to Lower Expectations
Democrats promised that they would be able to save the economy. We just had to trust them and they would make everything alright. President-elect Obama was touted as the one man who could save the economy and the world from all of it’s problems.
Now that we trusted the Democrats and their promises that they could fix the economy they are beginning to back down from that promise. It seems that just repealing the Bush tax cuts and taxing the hell out of the “rich” isn’t going to magically fix the economy after all. Democrats always knew this but now they have to lower the expectations as they are already gearing up for the 2010 election.
Elections are run in two-year cycles, and we’re in an economic cycle that we can’t turn around in two years,” said Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D., N.Y.). “It’s a political problem. But I don’t know that there is a way out of it
Already they are thinking politically instead of correctly.
Just look at some of the quotes from Democrats now that the election is over and they realize they won’t be able to fulfil their promises:
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s office said recently that “Congress needs to pass an economic recovery package to prevent any further decline in the economy” — but cautioned, “recovery will not be immediate.”
The stimulus package will keep it from getting as bad as it would otherwise be, but that is very hard to measure,” said Alice Rivlin, former director of the Congressional Budget Office, who addressed House Democrats recently. “All you can say is, ‘It’s probably not as bad as it would have been.’ But that is very hard to prove.”
“The only way to deal with it is to be upfront and say, ‘It’s not salvation. It will limit the damage. What’s been built up for years won’t be solved overnight,’ ” Rep. Nadler said.
Clearly Democrat understand that they will not be able to deliver on the promise of turning around the economy in time for te 2010 election and are already trying to curb expectations.
This is not surprising as Obama himself had one of his aides tell his rabid followers that they expect too much from him, and this was four months before he was actually elected.
Obama Refuses to Release Emanuel/Blagojevich Records
President-elect Barack Obama conducted an internal investigation into his staff’s contacts with Illinois Governor Blagojevich, the results of which are to be released this week.
Despite reports that Obama’s chief of staff. Rahm Emanuel had 21 taped phone conversations with Blagojevich and that these taped conversations were about the vacant senate seat that the disgraced governor was trying to sell Barack Obama’s internal investigation is about to reveal that Emanuel had only one conversation with the governor and it wasn’t about the senate seat. And you know what? We are just going to have to believe the president-elect because he is refusing to release any of the documents that could either prove or disprove what Obama is about to claim. And he never has to release these documents.
Talk about a phony investigation. We will never know the truth. We are just going to have to take him on his word. We are supposed to believe that he is telling us the truth this time even though he has lied to us already about contact his staff has had with the governor.
This is the transparency in government that president-elect Obama spoke about during the campaign? President-elect Obama has been spinning his staff’s involvement in this controversy since the beginning and now he is going to tell us the results that he found in an investigation without providing any hard evidence of his claims and we are just supposed to believe it.
Barack Obama cut his political teeth in what is widely considered one of the most corrupt state governments in the country, we are supposed to believe that none of this corruption rubbed off on Obama even though this is the state in which he CHOSE to become an active politician.
This whole thing stinks and it is immune from the Freedom of Information Act so we will never know the truth. Barack Obama’s change just seems like more of the same.
President-elect Obama had an internal investigation on his staff and on Rahm Emanuel in particular to find out if there was any wrong doing within his staff in the pay to play scheme that Democrat governor Rod Blagojevich was conducting to fill Obama’s vacant senate seat.
Guess what he found? He found that Rahm Emanuel only had one conversation with the disgraced governor of Illinois and it didn’t involve talk about Obama’s senate vacancy. Who woulda thunk it? And we know that this must be true because it is being reported here by the non-partisan George Stephanopoulos. (I can’t even type that with a straight face)
Evidently Obama’s internal investigation missed this story about Rahm Emanuel being caught on tape 21 times talking with Blagojevich. That isn’t surprising because his internal investigation also missed this story about Rahm Emanuel having direct talks with the governor about Obama’s senate seat.
President-elect Obama is in spin mode. He assured us that nobody on his staff had ANY conversations with Blago and that was a lie, now he is saying that yes Rahm did talk to Blago but only once and not about his senate seat. All the while Emanuel is on tape talking to Blago about the seat. But much like all of Obama”s other controversial associations that some of us knew about despite the medias attempt to hide it, the media will also hide this.
Does anyone else out there find it odd that Patrick Fitzgerald stopped Blagojevich before the deal actually went down? Usually when there is a sting operation nobody moves in until the deal is complete, yet this was stopped before it ever happened. Why?
We are talking about the man who continued the Plame leak investigation for a year after he know who leaked Plame’s name just so that he could get a process crime, yet he stopped this before the actual crime was committed.
This was going to go all the way to Obama if it was allowed to proceed so it was stopped. That is the only conclusion I can come to.
Now Obama is admitting that a member of his staff DID in fact contact Blago but he is spinning it so that it sounds like just a routine conversation took place regardless of the evidence to the contrary. And we will never know the true extent of Obama’s involvement because Fitzgerald conveniently stopped the pay to play scheme before it ever reached it’s conclusion.
400,000 Without Power After New Hampshire Ice Storm (George Bush Doesn’t Care About White People)
Last Thursday New Hampshire was hit with a major ice storm. Much like Hurricane Katrina, the full extent of the damage was not fully known right away. After Hurricane Katrina passed through New Orleans reporters on the scene reported that it looked as though New Orleans dodged a bullet, the hurricane didn’t do the damaged that was feared. And then it happened, the levees broke and the political firestorm was on.
In New Hampshire last week the extent of the ice storm was not foreseen and the damage left in it’s wake was devastating. 400,000 homes were left with no electricity, heat, or water. Half of New Hampshire was dark. You read that right, HALF of New Hampshire was dark.
After Hurricane Katrina the man who recently called himself the voice of this generation, Kanye West, went on a national awards program and made the outrageous statement, “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.” We were shown images of people who had no idea what to do or how to fend for themselves because they have been dependant on the government for so long. People were asking where FEMA was and where the national guard was. Hell, the theory was floated that the government blew up the levees to flood black neighborhoods. It was all over the television because it was a politically viable story.
Fast forward to the New Hampshire ice storm. NOTHING! 400,000 households with no heat in the middle of the winter and nobody gives a fuck.
I want to know where FEMA was, I want to know where the national guard is, I want to know where all the media coverage is, I want to know where President Bush is.
As of today there are still hundreds of people without power headed into day ten. There are hundreds of people without heat and water. There are hundreds of people freezing and yet this story doesn’t gain the respect of the media, the celebrities, or the president.
First George Bush blew up the levees and now he has sent the Halliburton Hurricane Machine into New Hampshire to make a few more dollars. It is obvious to me now that George Bush doesn’t like white people.
Neither do the media or the celebrities.

Fairness Doctrine Gains Momentum in Congress
One of the most blatant attempts to curb free speech and silence conservatives is gaining momentum in congress. I am talking about the fairness doctrine. While this comes as no surprise to those of us who tried to warn the public it is disturbing nonetheless.
Representative Anna Eshoo (D-CA), a prominent member of the House Subcommittee that may take up the Fairness Doctrine next year, said that she wanted to bring it back. “I still believe in it,” Eshoo told the Daily Postin Palo Alto.
The Democrat controlled congress is going to try to silence conservative talk radio forever. Instead of debate they prefer political bullying. If you think that conservatives are over-reacting when you hear us talk about the fairness doctrine, or you read what we write about if you need to look no further that the following quote from one of Nancy Pelosi’s top aides.
“Conservative radio is a huge threat and political advantage for Republicans and we have had to find a way to limit it.”
There you have it, conservative radio is a “huge threat” according to Nancy Pelosi’s camp. We have to limit it.
Limit free speech? Is that what I am reading here? Your damn right, that is what she is proposing. How can my reaction be an over-reaction when you read a quote like that?
Liberals have tried to counter conservative talk radio and they have no listeners, liberal talk radio does not make any money. And why would it? Liberals own every other news medium so there is no need for them to spread their views on the radio. Liberals get their views justified in the print media and the electronic media whereas conservatives only have talk radio. Now Democrats want to shut down the last available avenue for conservatives to let their voices be heard.
This is paranoid, this is cowardly, this is unconstitutional, this is un-American.
Rahm Emanuel Had Direct Talks With Blagojevich About Empty Senate Seat
When news broke about Illinois Governor Blagojevich attempting to sell president-elect Obama’s senate seat to the highest bidder Barack Obama emphatically denied that nobody on his staff had ANY conversations with Blagojevich about the senate seat. I know I have written that same exact statement before, but I can’t emphasize it enough. He said that NOBODY on his staff had ANY conversations about the senate vacancy with the corrupt governor of Illinois.
When it was found out that Rahm Emanuel DID speak to Blagojevich Obama went into spin mode.
A source with the Obama camp strongly denied Emanuel spoke with the governor directly about the seat, saying Emanuel only spoke with Blagojevich once recently to say he was taking the chief of staff post.
But then word came that not only did Rahm Emanuel have A conversation with Blagojevich he had TWENTY ONE conversations with him.
It appears as if Emanuel was deeply involved in “persuading” Blagojevich” to chose the candidate that Barack Obama approved of. More involved than either he or Obama have led us to believe.
President-elect Barack Obama’s incoming chief of staff Rahm Emanuel had a deeper involvement in pressing for a U.S. Senate seat appointment than previously reported, the Sun-Times has learned. Emanuel had direct discussions about the seat with Gov. Blagojevich, who is is accused of trying to auction it to the highest bidder.
Rahm Emanuel isn’t accused of any wrong-doing here, and I am not accusing him either. But what I find disturbing is how president-elect Obama has no problem standing on the podium and blatantly lying about this whole situation.
Barack Obama knew that Emanuel was contacting Blago about the senate seat and he stood up there and lied to us. If he didn’t know that Emaneul was in contact with Blago about the senate seat then he should fire him for sneaking around behind his back.
If he did know than this is not “change we can believe in” it’s more like “the more things change, the more they stay the same.”
Either way, Rahm Emanuel needs to step down.
As Americans Struggle Congress Gives Themselves a Raise
Today marks day eight of no electricity since last week’s ice storm. I now have a generator powering my furnace, well, and some lights. Today we got cable back and so I now have internet access. Try to figure that out, I have cable but no power. How the hell can the cable company get back on-line before the electric company?
Anyway, now that we have the internet back, (for how long?) I was able to check up on some news and I stumble upon this story. The Democrat controlled congress is giving themselves a pay raise. Isn’t that nice?
Americans are struggling in this economy, people are losing their jobs, and congress has the balls to give themselves a raise. A raise that these same struggling Americans are going to be forced to pay for.
As the article linked above states, these same congressional leaders are trying to cap how much executives can make and are also trying to talk auto executives into working for free. They are now poised to receive a $4,700 pay raise.
I expect nothing less from these self-indulgent bastards but it still aggravates the hell out of me that while these people claim that they are here to help the little guy, and they proclaim that they will bring down the greedy capitalist business owners in the name of “social justice” and “economic equality” and they use class envy to divide the country and win elections, they conveniently forget that they are part of the class of people that they claim they will bring down.
This congress had a chance to stop the pay raise, Democrat Harry Mitchell proposed a bill to do just that. The bill never made it out of committee for a vote.
I think we can see where their true loyalty lies.
No Power Day Eight
Just checking in to let eveyone know I am still around. Today is day eight with no power and there is another storm on the way today. Who the hell knows when we will get power back. When we do, I will have the site up abd in full throttle mode.
Rahm Emanuel Had 21 Conversations with Blago About Obama’s Senate Seat
When the news broke about Illinois Governor Blago trying to sell the president-elect’s senate seat to the highest bidder Barack Obama rather emphatically stated that neither he nor any of his staff had ANY conversations with the corrupt governor.
I will give president-elect Obama the benefit of the doubt about one thing, he himself probably didn’t have any conversations with Blago about his senate seat. At least directly. But it is quite obvious that one member of his staff did in fact have conversations with Blago about the seat. Rahm Emanuel DID contact Blago about Obama’s seat.
Now there are rumblings that there are taped conversations between Blago and Emanuel, in fact there are 21 conversations that may have been taped.
Are we to believe that all of these conversations were on the level, if so why would there be a need for 21 conversations? It sounds like negotiations were going on if you ask me.
Barack Obama’s senate seat was for sale and Rahm Emanuel made 21 phone calls to the man selling the seat and we are supposed to believe that there was nothing funny going on here?
So either Barack Obama didn’t know that Rahm Emanuel was contacting Blago behind his back, or he did know and he lied to the American people. I don’t know which is worse. What I do know is that Rahm Emanuel needs to resign as the president-elect’s chief of staff. President-elect Obama’s first post election decision was a bad one. So much for the “good judgement” that he ran on.

It is beginning to look like you have to have some kind of controversy around you if you are to be named to president-elect Obama’s cabinet. First there was the unconstitutionality of the Hillary Clinton pick, then the Rahm Emanuel/Blagojevich “conversations, and now this.
The grand jury in Albuquerque is looking into Beverly Hills, California-based CDR Financial Products Inc., which received almost $1.5 million in fees from the New Mexico Finance Authority in 2004 after donating $100,000 to Richardson’s efforts to register Hispanic and American Indian voters and pay for expenses at the Democratic National Convention in 2004
A major donor to Governor Bill Richardson is being investigated for donations made to the governor. As well as Richardson himself:
