Video: OJ Simpson Endorses Hillary Clinton

September 21, 2007

This is a great video of OJ Simpson endorsing Hillary Clinton. The Clinton’s winning approval of a less than desirable person, it’s just a coincidence, it always is with the Clinton’s.

I found it on the Stuck On Stupid blog.

How can you not vote for Hillary now?

Hillary Doesn’t Support General Petraeus in Senate Vote, Biden and Obama Refuse to Vote

September 21, 2007

Yesterday the senate held a vote to reaffirm their full support for General Petraeus, and also to condemn the New York Times, moveon.org ad that everyone now knows as the General Betray Us ad. The amendment passed by a 72-25 margin.

A strong showing of support for General Petraeus, but not strong enough. Twenty five senators think that the ad attacking the general during a time of was was acceptable is not acceptable to me.  So who voted against general Petraeus is my next question. And here is the answer:

Akaka (D-HI)
Bingaman (D-NM)
Boxer (D-CA)
Brown (D-OH)
Byrd (D-WV)
Clinton (D-NY)
Dodd (D-CT)
Durbin (D-IL)
Feingold (D-WI)
Harkin (D-IA)
Inouye (D-HI)
Kennedy (D-MA)
Kerry (D-MA)
Lautenberg (D-NJ)
Levin (D-MI)
Menendez (D-NJ)
Murray (D-WA)
Reed (D-RI)
Reid (D-NV)
Rockefeller (D-WV)
Sanders (I-VT)
Schumer (D-NY)
Stabenow (D-MI)
Whitehouse (D-RI)
Wyden (D-OR)

  Not bothering to vote:

Biden (D-DE)

Cantwell (D-WA)

Obama (D-IL)

Two things strike me about these lists. Neither one surprising. The first is that with the exception of Sanders from Vermont, who while listed as an Independent is an admitted Socialist, they are all Democrats. They are the usual suspects also. But I want to focus on the highest profile among them, Hillary Clinton. Read more…

Oregon Schools are Teaching Mexican Curriculum

September 20, 2007

This is some disheartening news from Oregon. It seems that Oregon high schools are adopting Mexico’s public school curriculum. Isn’t this just wonderful? Why are they adopting Mexican curriculum you might ask. Because it isn’t fair to ask Mexicans who come here to actually assimilate into our culture.

The Oregon Department of Education and Mexico’s Secretariat of Public Education are discussing aligning their curricula so courses will be valid in both countries.

Thank God. I was afraid a United States education wouldn’t be valid in Mexico, weren’t you? Apparently bilingual education isn’t enough.

Until now, Oregon school districts generally have relied on bilingual aides or used Spanish material different from the English material others are studying.

“That’s not enough,” said Patrick Burk, chief policy officer with the superintendent’s office of the Oregon Department of Education. He said the idea is minimal disruption for immigrant Latinos.

Ah! Minimal disruption of immigrants, great. In other words, FUCK THE CITIZEN STUDENTS, we need to make sure that the immigrants are comfortable. Wonderful, what has happened to us when immigrants don’t have to assimilate into our culture and our students are being forced to assimilate into theirs? I don’t know, but I don’t like it!

New Hampshire Senator John Sununu Votes in Favor of Expanding Military Detainees’ Legal Rights

September 20, 2007

Yesterday the senate voted on legislation that would have given military detainees the right to be tried in US federal courts. One of my senators, Republican John Sununu voted in favor of the bill. The bill received 56 votes, four short of cutting off debate and sending the bill for a vote.

I am disappointed in Sununu for siding with the enemy and trying to grant them rights that apply to Americans. We are under no obligation to provide rights guaranteed to Americans under the constitution to the people who despise us for that very constitution. Just ask John McCain if he ever received a trial when he was a POW.

However, I do understand WHY I believe he did this, and it isn’t because he believes it is the right thing to do. Read more…

General Betray Us Ad may Have Violated Campaign Finance Law

September 20, 2007

A group has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission saying that the moveon.org ad that ran in the New York Times on September 10th violate campaign finance laws. This is the now famous General Betray Us ad. The group (American Conservative Union) claims that the discount the paper gave moveon.org amounts to a soft money contribution that exceeds campaign donation laws.

The American Conservative Union (ACU) complaint filed last Friday noted that “MoveOn’s acceptance of the discount constitutes acceptance of a soft money contribution from a prohibited source … in excess of federal contribution limits.”

Contributions to political committees are restricted by federal law to $5,000 a year, and corporations are prohibited from making any contributions to a federal political committee, said ACU Chairman David Keene in the document.

“MoveOn clearly thought it was running a political message that might influence the ’08 elections – paying for the ad via its Political Action Committee and even including a disclaimer like those mandated by federal campaign-finance law that the ad was ‘not authorized by any candidate,'” the authors stated.

I doubt anything will come from this, but you can read the whole article here.

Another Tax Increase for New Hampshire Drivers

September 19, 2007

We have, already had enough tax increases with liberal Governor John Lynch’s latest budget, and there are more to come, just wait until the education bill comes due. But, unfortunately the bill for the road is coming due right now. So what is the answer when you pass a budget that doesn’t include infrastructure? Toll increases, of coarse.

Transportation Commissioner Charles O’Leary wants to raise tolls from 75 cents to $1 at toll booths on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Hooksett and Bedford; from 50 cents to 75 cents on the Spaulding Turnpike in Dover and Rochester; and 50 cents to $1 at ramps on Interstate 95 in Hampton.

They don’t ever say it out loud, but toll increases ARE tax increases. Surely our governor, who in his own words proposed a fiscally responsible budget even though it contained several tax increases and no money for infrastructure or education would not back yet another tax increase, would he?

Gov. John Lynch backs the planned increases. “I think this is an urgent need here in New Hampshire,” Lynch said.

Governor Lynch can’t get his greedy little hands on enough of your money, New Hampshire. What a fraud this man perpetrated on the voters of New Hampshire.

Latest Poll (09/19) Shows Congress Hitting Another all Time Low

September 19, 2007

Just when congress thought it couldn’t get any lower the latest poll comes out:

A paltry 11 percent rated Congress positively, beating the previous low of 14 percent in July.(Zogby)

What can I say? This is a do nothing, America bashing, useless congress. Any hope they had of improving their approval rating by showing how tough they are by attacking General Petraeus’ credibility only managed to show the public their lack of credibility. They managed to turn the public opinion towards General Petraeus and in my opinion this is partly why their numbers have dropped even further. People who are looking for leadership have turned away from a congress who does not lead, only contradicts. Americans have seen through their disguise, unfortunately it wasn’t until after midnight on election day, so they didn’t see the chariot turn back into a pumpkin until it was too late.

Latest Poll Shows General Petraeus Approval Rating Rising Among the American Public

September 19, 2007

According to this article, General Petraeus has managed to turn public opinion of him and his Iraq war policy in his favor since his testimony in front of congress.

54 percent of respondents said they believe Petreaus’ plan for removing troops is the right pace or too quick, while only 33 percent view the withdrawal as moving too slowly. Also, 52 percent of those polled said the plan withdraws the right amount or too many troops, while 36 percent said it removes too few troops.
a higher percentage of respondents now view the top U.S. military commander in Iraq favorably (61 percent) than before his testimony (52 percent), while only 22 percent view him unfavorably.

The Gallup survey comes one day after the Pew Research Center released its latest findings that gave Petraeus high marks for his integrity and proposals.

In that poll, 57 percent of Americans who read or heard about Petraeus’ testimony approved of his recommendations for Iraq, while only 28 percent of respondents said they disapprove. A majority of those surveyed (51 percent) also said they believe he presented the situation as it really is.

This is bad news for the Democrats who did everything that they could to dis-credit this man. They called him a liar and a mouthpiece for the Bush administration. The American people saw this attack on a man who deserves nothing but respect, and they saw the look on his face as he stared silently and unflinchingly at those who tried destroy his character, and they have responded. Americans want leadership, and they have found it in General Petraeus. Yes, the Democrats strategy was to embarrass the good general, but the only managed to embarrass themselves. They managed to show the American people their true colors, and those colors are yellow.

Latest New Hampshire Senate Poll (09/18/07)

September 18, 2007

Early poll showed a huge lead for the then undeclared Jeanne Shaheen if she were to run against Senator John Sununu. Shaheen declared she was running for senate last week and the first polls are out. And they are alot closer than they were not that long ago.

Rasmussen Reports and Fox Television Stations surveyed 500 likely New Hampshire voters on Sept. 16 and found that Shaheen leads Sununu, 48 to 43 percent, far closer than the 54-38 percent Shaheen advantage reported in a poll by the University of New Hampshire in July.

The margin of error was 4.5 percent.

Rasmussen reported that Shaheen is viewed favorably by 51 percent of New Hampshire voters and unfavorably by 44 percent. Sununu’s numbers are almost identical: 50 percent favorable and 43 percent unfavorable.

The American Research Group released a poll today also showing Shaheen with a 5 percentage point lead over Sununu. The Manchester-based pollster interviewed 558 likely voters and found Shaheen with 46 percent, Sununu with 41 percent and 13 percent undecided. Its margin of error is 4.2 percent.

Each led overwhelmingly among voters in their respective parties, but Shaheen also led, 46 to 35 percent among independents with 19 percent undecided.

A June ARG poll showed Shaheen leading Sununu, 57 to 29 percent.

It is still very early, perhaps all is not as lost as I had thought a month ago here in New Hampshire.
