Congress Eyes Multiple Tax Increases to Pay For Healthcare Reform

  Contrary to the promise that President Obama made to the American people during the campaign he will be raising taxes on most Americans if his healthcare reform bill is ever signed into law.

  The president claimed that he would lower taxes on 95% of Americans but if the healthcare reform bill ever becomes law I think that it is safe to say that 95% of Americans will see a tax increase.

   Multiple taxes are being looked at by congress to pay for healthcare reform legislation including taxes on soda and alcohol as well as a “value-added tax” which is nothing more than a national sales tax on goods purchased by ALL Americans. And if you already have health insurance, as most Americans do, you are probably going to get screwed twice over as your healthcare benefits will be taxed to pay for those without insurance, a plan that President Obama slammed, rightfully so, when it was proposed by John McCain during the campaign. But now that option is on the table.

  All of these taxes will affect a vast majority of Americans and they all run counter to Obama’s promise that he would lower taxes on 95% of Americans but then again nobody really believed that Obama was telling the truth about his tax plans, did they?

  We are constantly being told that we have to do something but sometimes doing nothing is better than doing something. I have to believe that this is one of those instances.
