Elizabeth Warren does not support the death penalty for convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev
Earlier this week Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was found guilty in the Boston Marathon bombing and he could face the death penalty. One of the Senators from Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, has come out against the death penalty for the man convicted in this horrific terrorist attack.
Here is what she said:
“My heart goes out to the families here, but I don’t support the death penalty. I think that he should spend his life in jail, no possibility of parole. He should die in prison”
She claims that if Dzhokhar Tsarnaev receives the death penalty he will be part of an ongoing story and because of this the families will not be able to heal because he will remain in the news:
“the alternative to the death penalty is not as if you turn this guy free. The point is that he stays in prison, he dies in prison, he’s put away. He’s not a danger to anyone else, and the — and he’s not a part of an ongoing story. He’s not — he’s not someone who tries to then — or is able to keep sucking up a lot of energy and a lot of attention. The families need their chance to heal, to move on beyond this, and I think that’s what really matters most.”
In a way I can understand what she is saying but at the same time I do not see how this is a factor because as Dzhokhar Tsarnaev makes his way through the appeals process he is sure to be an ongoing story. Does she really believe the media will ignore the appeals process if he does not receive the death penalty? There will be appeals no matter what the sentence is therefore that excuse falls flat here at America’s Watchtower.

Harry Reid admits Mitt Romney paid his taxes
We all remember during the 2012 Presidential election when Harry Reid took to the Senate floor and emphatically stated the following:
“As we know, he has refused to release his tax returns. If a person coming before this body wanted to be a Cabinet officer, he couldn’t be if he had the same refusal Mitt Romney does about tax returns,” Reid said. “So the word is out that he has not paid any taxes for 10 years. Let him prove he has paid taxes, because he has not.”
He went on to state that he would not take back the claim and he also said that because he levied the charges it was not up for him to prove the statement was true but rather it was up to Mitt Romney to prove it was not true. This, of course, is not the way it is supposed to work: if a person levies a claim against a person it is up to the person making the claim to prove it is true otherwise it amounts to, in my opinion, libel.
Recently Harry Reid was asked about this and he had no remorse, here is what he had to say:
Two Massachusetts Democrats call for Nancy Pelosi to change or give up her her role as Minority Leader
Two Democratic Congressmen from the People’s Republic of Massachusetts, Stephen Lynch and Michael Capuano, have called on Nancy Pelosi to either change her tactics or give up her role as House Minority Leader. Here is more:
Lynch said, “Nancy Pelosi will not lead us back into the majority.”
Capuano had a lighter touch saying “I think we need leadership that understands if something you’re doing is not working, change what you’re doing,” adding, “She should change, one way or the other.”
Representative Capuano seemed to later backtrack from his statement:
Since 2010, something hasn’t been resonating at the polls. I believe that when something’s not working, changes should be made. Any leader who refuses to change in the face of failure should step aside. I believe, however, that Nancy Pelosi is making the changes necessary to lead House Democrats back to electoral success, and I still believe she will do so.”
As expected Rand Paul announced today that he will seek the Republican nomination for the Presidency in 2016. Here are some excerpts from his announcement speech:
“I have a message,”
A message that is loud and clear and does not mince words. We’ve come to take our country back. We’ve come to take our country back from the special interests that use Washington as their personal piggy bank. The special interests that are more concerned with their personal welfare than the general welfare. The Washington machine that gobbles up our freedoms and invades every nook and cranny of our lives—must be stopped.
“I wasn’t supposed to win [the Senate race]. No one thought I would. Some people asked me then — why are you running?” Paul said. “The answer is the same now as it was then. I have a vision for America. I want to be part of a return to prosperity. A true economic boom that lifts all Americans. A return to a government restrained by the Constitution.”
“Too often when Republicans have won, we have squandered our victory by becoming part of the Washington machine,” Paul said. “That’s not who I am. That’s not why I ran for office the first time, just a few years ago. The truth is, I loved my life as a small town doctor. Every day when I woke up, I felt lucky to be able to do the things I loved. More importantly, I was blessed to be able to do things that made a difference in people’s lives.”
A quick break from the excerpts: Rand Paul nailed it in that last paragraph. In the last two off-year elections the Republicans won on an anti-establishment message only to fall in line with the so-called leadership of the Republican party and John Boehner made sure of it by punishing those who tried to change the way Washington worked.
Back to the excerpts:
Some previously deported illegal immigrants will be flown back into the United States on the taxpayers’ dime
Yes you read that headline correctly. This has to do with the surge of “unaccompanied minors” who flooded over the border in 2014 and who were subsequently deported. They will now be flown back over the border on our tax dollars. Here is more:
In 2014, unaccompanied alien children from Central America walked across America’s southern border in droves. This year, the U.S. government will pay for unaccompanied alien children to be flown into the country, even if they were convicted of a felony, and furnish them with federal benefits to boot.
It sounds outlandish, so how is it happening? It’s called the In-Country Refugee/Parole Program for Central American Minors, and the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security introduced it on November 14, 2014. They promised it would not become “a pathway for undocumented parents to bring their children to the United States,” but it appears that’s not the case. The program not only creates a pathway for Central American children to reunite with their newly amnestied parents, it also pays their travel costs and ensures them federal benefits.
As you can see above this includes previously deported illegal immigrants with felonies on their records–including the possibility that gang members will be brought back into the United States.
Conservative group readies attack ads against Rand Paul
Rand Paul has not yet officially announced his candidacy for the Presidency and already a conservative group is readying an attack ad against him–comparing the Senator from Kentucky to Barack Obama.

The Foundation for a Secure and Prosperous America, a 501(c)(4) group led by veteran Republican operative Rick Reed, will go live with its campaign against Paul on Tuesday, while the senator is in Louisville, Kentucky, announcing his presidential candidacy. The group will begin airing ads on broadcast TV, cable and the Web in several early primary states accusing Paul of being weak on Iran and tying him to the Barack Obama administration’s Iran policy, which polls show is deeply unpopular among Republican voters.
“Paul supports more negotiations with Iran while standing against more sanctions that would hold the Iranian regime accountable. That’s not a conservative position, that’s Obama’s position,” Reed told me in an interview Monday. “His longstanding position on Iran and his agreement with Obama on Iran calls into question his judgment.”
We all know that California is in the midst of a serious drought but because of this Governor Jerry Brown has just announced he is taking drastic action–residents of his state could face $500 a day fines if the state determines they are taking showers which they deem are too long. Here is more:
“This executive order is done under emergency power. It has the force of law. Very unusual. It’s requiring action and changes in behavior from the Oregon border all the way to the Mexican border. It affects lawns. It affects people’s — how long they stay in the shower. How businesses use water.”
This leads to the obvious question; how does the state know how long people are in the shower? But the answer is a simple on in today’s United States of America:
It is now being rumored that Rand Paul is going to announce on Tuesday that he will seek the Republican nomination for the Presidency in 2016.
If the following recently released video can be used as an indicator it certainly appears as if he is going to run. Here is the video:
I find Rand Paul to be an intriguing candidate: I feel that if you couple his his anti-spying, anti-NSA views with his libertarian stances on other issues he might be the one Republican candidate who can win over the younger generation and it is possible he could pull in some Democratic voters who might be tired of a possible candidate–think Hillary Clinton–who represents everything that is wrong in Washington today.

Let us see if we can connect a few dots tonight: New Jersey Democratic Senator Bob Menendez has been indicted by the Department of Injustice on Federal corruption charges stemming from his relationship with Dr. Salomon Melgen. Because Bob Menendez is a card-carrying liberal a conspiracy theory was soon spawned; the Obama regime was seeking retribution against the Senator from New Jersey because he spoke out publicly against the President’s policies on both Cuba and Iran.
At this point Harry Reid enters the picture: just two days after a Department of Homeland Security Inspector General report found that Harry Reid used his position of power to pressure Homeland Security to expedite visas to a client his son was representing the Senator from Nevada announced he was going to retire and would not seek reelection in 2016.
One Senator is facing indictment and the other is not, but is there a connection which is being ignored? And if so what could that connection be?
