John Kerry admits the potential US/Iran nuclear deal will be non-binding

March 13, 2015

A couple of days ago John Kerry admitted that the deal the President is seeking with Iran over nuclear policy will be non-binding. Here is more:

Secretary of State John Kerry told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee today that the nuclear-weapons agreement the Obama administration is trying to negotiate with Iran–where the Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is supreme leader and commander in chief–will be an agreement “between leaders of a country” and will not be a “legally binding plan.”

I find that admission to be very interesting in light of the heat some Republicans have been taking from the left for sending an open letter to the leaders of Iran.

Despite Hillary Clinton’s claim, the State Department did not automatically archive her emails

March 13, 2015

During her press conference when she tried to stem the tide of her email controversy Hillary Clinton stated that this was basically no big deal because most of her State Department emails were sent to people who were following the law and because of this the emails were sent to official government email addresses. Therefore, she claimed, the emails were archived at that point in time.

  Here is more:

Clinton had said at a news conference Tuesday that she believed the vast majority of work-related emails she sent or received from the private account, linked to a server at her New York residence, were “immediately captured and preserved” because she was in correspondence with other officials using “.gov” accounts.

The Associated Press is suing for the release of Hillary Clinton’s emails

March 11, 2015

obamaandhillaryMost of the people on the left seem to feel as if the revelation that Hillary Clinton set up a private server in her home, which was registered to some mystery man with ties to the Clintons, and used a private email account to conduct ALL State Department business is just another “phony scandal” and the latest example of the “vast right wing conspiracy” which has haunted her and her husband since the days of the Clinton Presidency.

But whether they want to admit it or not this scandal is not going to go away any time soon and one press conference is not going to put this issue to bed. We are now learning that the Associated Press has filed a lawsuit seeking the release of the former first lady’s emails after five years of FOIA requests have gone unanswered.

The White House will not say if Barack Obama used private email accounts

March 11, 2015

A White House spokesman, Eric Schultz, was asked if Barack Obama has used private email accounts while President of the United States and he refused to give a clear answer. Here is more:

Despite the Obama administration’s best efforts to distance itself from the controversy over Hillary Rodham Clinton’s e-mail practices at the State Department, e-mail-gate may be spilling over into another important office: the White House.

Questions are now coming about President Obama’s e-mail practices, and whether he uses a private e-mail account, as did Mrs. Clinton, who held a press conference Tuesday denying claims she did anything improper in using her own private e-mail server and address for government business.

The White House won’t say whether the president, who famously won a battle to keep his Blackberry while in office, uses a private e-mail address, citing security concerns.

“We have made clear that part of the security precautions we take around that e-mail account is not talking about it much publicly,”

Eric Schultz’s non-answer tells me everything I need to know–most likely Barack Obama has used private email accounts while President because if he did not why wouldn’t they come right out and clear the President’s name?

But even if this is the case we have nothing to worry about because Eric Schultz says so:

“The President’s expectation when sending or receiving an e-mail from any Cabinet Secretary is that’s going to be preserved, maintained, and archived in accordance with the Federal Records Act,” Mr. Schultz said.

Whew! I feel much better knowing this… they would never lie to us, right?

The ATF drops proposal to ban AR-15 ammunition

March 10, 2015

The Obama regime had planned on using the ATF to ban the most popular round of ammunition in the United States, however it is now being reported that due to the huge response of the American people the ATF has dropped the idea–at least for now.

  Here is more:

“Although ATF endeavored to create a proposal that reflected a good faith interpretation of the law and balanced the interests of law enforcement, industry, and sportsmen, the vast majority of the comments received to date are critical of the framework, and include issues that deserve further study,” an ATF press release states (emphasis mine). “Accordingly, ATF will not at this time seek to issue a final framework. After the close of the comment period, ATF will process the comments received, further evaluate the issues raised therein, and provide additional open and transparent process (for example, through additional proposals and opportunities for comment) before proceeding with any framework.”

Every once in awhile the good guys win one and this is one such case but the battle is not over. The ATF is going to “study” this issue more before proceeding, this does not mean the ATF is dropping the proposal altogether so we must keep vigilant.

Harry Reid was interviewed by the FBI in the Robert Menendez corruption investigation

March 9, 2015

A few days ago we learned the Department of Injustice was preparing to file criminal corruption charges against New Jersey Democratic Senator Robert Menendez sometime in the near future.

Today we learned, according to this article, that the Department of Injustice and the FBI interviewed Harry Reid last year due to his relationship with a figure who is at the heart of this scandal. Here is more:

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid voluntarily interviewed with Justice Department lawyers and FBI agents a year ago as they were investigating Sen. Robert Menendez for possible corruption, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Reid’s interview with DOJ lawyers and FBI agents focused on his interaction with Menendez and Salomon Melgen, a close friend of the New Jersey Democrat and a big donor. The Menendez-Melgen relationship is at the heart of the federal criminal investigation, and Menendez had sought Reid’s help in assisting the Florida ophthalmologist resolve a multimillion-dollar billing dispute his company was having with the federal government.

Harry Reid’s office declined to comment and, as the article points out, there is no indication Harry Reid was involved–he is simply a witness at this point in time. But still, this could get very interesting…
