The Westboro Baptist Church gained notoriety for protesting the funerals of United States military personnel who were killed in action, claiming that their deaths were God’s retribution for America accepting and supporting gay people and their rights.
In doing so they had no decency regarding the privacy of the grieving families which may or may not have agreed with the gay agenda. They drew no distinction between the heroes who died fighting for this country out of duty and honor and the agenda promoted by those who are leading this country.
However now that the founder of this despicable organization, (I do believe this church has protection under the Constitution but that does not mean I do not have the right to oppose what they stand for or the way in which they express their beliefs and so I find it within my right to express my disdain for this organization by calling them despicable), Fred Phelps, has died the church actually has the unmitigated gall to ask the public to respect their privacy by not protesting the funeral.
When asked about budget cuts Nancy Pelosi once famously quipped the the cupboard was bare and there were not any more cuts which could be made. Now we are learning in this article that the US is conducting a study at the cost of roughly $400,ooo to determine whether we should pay Mexican gay male prostitutes to remain disease free in order to increase condom use in that country.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is spending $398,213 on a project studying whether paying male Mexican sex workers for being free of sexually transmitted diseases will increase condom use. The study, “Conditional Economic Incentives to Reduce HIV Risks: A Pilot in Mexico,” began in June 2011 and is funded through the end of May 2014.
According to the study abstract, one group of 100 individuals will “receive low incentive ($200 pesos/each time) only if they are free of STIs at months 6 and 12.”
Another group of 100 will receive high incentives “($500 pesos/each time) if they are free of STIs at months 6 and 12.”
Granted, when you are talking about a budget as large as the United States budget $400,000 is a paltry figure, but there are many, many programs such as this and when added together it begins to turn into a not insignificant amount of money.
You have to start somewhere and programs such as this seem to be a logical starting point and yet the Federal government is unwilling to make even the most meager of cuts to even make the impression they are serious about the upcoming deficit calamity.
And the reason for this is simple in my opinion, they are not serious about deficit, or spending, reduction because the budget is all about pushing forward the agenda, and that is why they feel programs like this are necessary and untouchable.
According to this story a US Disrtict Court has ruled that states have the right to require a person who is registering to vote to prove they are a citizen. The court also ruled that the FEC cannot block states from implementing this law.
A U.S. District Court judge ruled Wednesday that Arizona and Kansas can require anyone registering to vote to prove their citizenship and the federal Election Assistance Commission cannot block them.
The ruling is a boost for states’ rights and marks a setback for President Obama and other liberals who fought stiffer voter ID checks with an argument that they reduce voter turnout.

The ATF raids gun store despite court order
If the account of this story is accurate it is scary because we are headed toward a potential police state faster than I ever imagined. ATF agents, with a search warrant, raided a gun store with weapons drawn during business hours while customers were in the store and confiscated some materials and computers which included a list of customers.
At this point you might be asking something to the effect of; if the ATF agents had a search warrant what is the big deal? And you would be right to ask that question if it were not for the fact that this gun store asked for, and received, a temporary court order delaying the search warrant while the courts decided if the materials in question were illegal. To top it all off the gun store had locked the questionable materials in a safe and were not selling them while they waited for the court decision and had planned to turn the material over willingly if the court did not rule in their favor.

As everyone who is paying attention already knows, Crimea voted to become part of Russia over the weekend. Many politicians in Washington are upset and the Obama regime has said it will not accept the results of the vote.
Ron Paul has a slightly different opinion which basically amount to this: what business is it of the United States what Crimea determines is in that country’s best interest?

I think we could all use a little laugh in light of everything that is going on both in this country and around the world, and what better way to have it if not at Joe Biden’s expense?
Barack Obama sent Joe Biden to Poland in order to attempt to “reassure our allies” as tensions grow in Europe over the Russia/Crimea/Ukraine situation and he had this to say:
“Fifteen years ago, I was honored, as the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, to lead the fight for Poland’s admission into NATO”
However, according to this article, there is one small problem with that statement:
Democrats move to block a second Obama nominee since Harry Reid invoked the “nuclear option”
When Harry Reid invoked the nuclear option to end the filibustering of many of Barack Obama’s nominees to government positions it was regarded by the liberals, and the president, that this would give him to opportunity appoint basically whomever he wanted despite the opposition no matter how radical they might be.
But a funny thing happened on the way to confirmation; first the Democrats, with the support of nearly unanimous Republican opposition, blocked Debo Adegbile from being appointed to the Justice Department because he was too radical, and now the president cannot count on enough support from the Democrats to get his nominee for Surgeon General– Vivek Murthy–through the Democratic controlled Senate.
