Rahm Emanuel cites the Emancipation Proclamation to defend Barack Obama’s Executive Orders
While stating that he supports Barack Obama’s Executive Orders “1,000 percent” former White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, cited the Emancipation Proclamation as an example of executive action:

Over the weekend two liberals, Bill Maher and Alec Baldwin, complained about the influence the new–or alternative–media has in America today. Here is what they had to say:
Baldwin’s rant–a towering assemblage of name calling and bridge burning–decried TMZ, MSNBC, Breitbart News and gay news commentators to name just a few targets.
The 30 Rock actor is really miffed about having to answer for his serial bad behavior, something that likely would not have happened without New Media. Breitbart News, and other outlets, showcased the hypocrisy of a channel like MSNBC hiring someone who repeatedly tosses hateful word-bombs at anyone with whom he disagrees.
Maher used his signature HBO series Friday to decry how the Internet is changing the way we consume news as well as the potential for personalized news feeds like Facebook’s new Paper product.
‘Paper’ tracks the news you’re interested in and gives you more of that and less of everything else, never burdening you with contradictory information or telling you anything new. That’s what makes it ‘news.’ But only seeing the stuff that already confirms the opinions you already have isn’t news — it’s Fox News. The reason so many Americans, for example, think climate change is a hoax is that their only source for science news is Glenn Beck, Fox and Matt Drudge, the cracker trifecta.
I think a quote from another liberal, Charlie Sheen, sums this up perfectly…..”winning!”
They simply do not like the fact that the mainstream media no longer has a monopoly on how people gather their news because it lessens their influence.
Earlier today Susan Rice was interviewed by David Gregory about her now infamous propaganda parade on all the Sunday morning talk shows in the wake of the Benghazi terrorist attack which left Chris Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, and Tyrone Woods dead and she claimed she has no regrets for her role in the cover-up.
“As you look back at your involvement in all of that, do you have any regrets?” Gregory asked.
“David, no,” she replied. “Because what I said to you that morning and what I did every day since was to share the best information that we had at the time.”
“The information I provided — which I explained to you was what we had at the moment, it could change; I commented that this was based on what we knew on that morning — was provided to me, and my colleagues and indeed to Congress by the intelligence community,” she explained, “and that’s been well validated in many different ways since.”
“And that information turned out in some respects not to be 100 percent correct,”
I am willing to give Susan Rice the benefit of the doubt here because it is possible, although I feel highly unlikely, that she was a useful idiot who was simply used by the Obama regime to promote a position which we now know beyond a shadow of a doubt was a lie. It is getting harder and harder for me to come up with musical selections which I can somehow link to the topics of the day so this week I am not even going to try. Instead I give you a song from one of my favorite ’80’s alternative bands, the Violent Femmes. This song is entitled ‘Country Death Song.’
The Violent Femmes’ self-titled debut album is perhaps one of the best albums ever recorded in my opinion and if you are unfamiliar with the band and wish to hear more this is the logical starting point. ‘Country Death Song’ is not from the debut album, it is from the follow-up, but it is one of my all time favorites from this band. There is no other band which sounds like the Violent Femmes, they are one of a kind.
This country sounding song is based on a true story from 1862 about a man who can no longer provide for his family so he makes the decision to sacrifice his younger daughter so that he can better provide for the rest of his family. He justifies this because he believes his daughter will be in a better place–Heaven–but eventually he realizes that while he thought what he did was what was best for his family he will be going to Hell for murdering his daughter. He can no longer live with his decision and the song ends with him hanging himself in the barn.
I apologize for the morbidity and for being a downer, but this is a brilliant song and it is one of my all time favorites.
Somewhere in Hell Margaret Sanger is smiling: black abortions outnumber black births in New York City
America’s Watchtower has documented the co-founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, and her belief that blacks were an inferior race which needed to be either eradicated or controlled for the good of the country and advocated for the creation of a master race.
Does the creation of a master race sound familiar? It should because a man in Germany held basically the same beliefs in the 1930’s and it just so happens that Margaret Sanger was a Nazi sympathizer.

New York Senator wants mandatory parenting classes in order for children to advance in the school system
“Should there be one set of rules for parenting? Well if some New York lawmakers have their way you could be forced to go to state mandated parenting workshops or your kid won’t advance to the next grade.”
That quote was taken from the following report about a New York Senator’s proposal that all New York parents should be required to take a parenting class if they want their children to advance beyond the sixth grade.
The FCC drops its plan to survey the media
Yesterday America’s Watchtower covered the story about a new Obama initiative which it was alleged would have the FCC study news outlets to determine how they decided which stories to report and which stories to ignore. There were some scary aspects to this story:
“The purpose of these interviews is to ascertain the process by which stories are selected,” the Social Solutions report said, adding that news organizations would be evaluated for “station priorities (for content, production quality, and populations served), perceived station bias, perceived percent of news dedicated to each of the eight CINs, and perceived responsiveness to underserved populations.”
If the FCC goes forward, it’s not clear what will happen to news organizations that fall short of the new government standards. Perhaps they will be disciplined. Or perhaps the very threat of investigating their methods will nudge them into compliance with the administration’s journalistic agenda.
This story, coupled with the report that Democrats in the Congress were sending a letter to media outlets pressuring them to push Barack Obama’s global warming agenda, had many people worried that the free press would not long remain all that free.
Will a new Obama initiative put the FCC in newsrooms?
We all like to complain about media bias, and I am just as guilty as the next, but the truth is that while the bias in the media is frustrating there really is nothing technically wrong with it, not is there anything unconstitutional with it. The Constitution guarantees a free media, which means they are free to their biases. I happen to think they are doing a disservice to the country, but that is just me.
In fact media bias is nothing new and actually dates back to before we were a sovereign nation. Benjamin Franklin set up his own newspaper and created articles under pen names in order to oppose the King, while others set up papers in support of the King. People were free to pick and chose which newspapers they supported and which ones they did not. The same is true today, which is why I chose not to watch the news on ANY television network.
But recently the Federal government has begun to pressure the media. This was evidenced first with this story that some leading Democrats in the Senate sent a letter to media outlets urging them to provide more coverage because they feel the media is not doing enough to promote the cap and trade agenda. Here is the money quote:
The Democrats have always had a long-term goal of turning Texas blue and who can blame them? If Texas ever votes Democratic in the future the prospects of the Republicans ever winning a national election are dim at best.
This, in my opinion, is the reason for their push to grant amnesty to illegal aliens; they know that one day these former illegals will be granted the franchise and when that happens it is likely that Texas will become a blue state and once that happens the Republican party will be relegated to near obscurity on the national level.
That is the long-term goal, but the Democrats also have a short-term goal which they believe will help them accomplish their long-term goal and that is the election of Wendy Davis.
Texas is so important to the plan that they are willing to do whatever it takes in order to ensure Wendy Davis wins her election bid, by hook or by crook.
Rising divorce rates prove the economy is improving?
Despite the claims of the Obama regime most Americans realize the economy is not getting much better. Those of us who are lucky enough to still have a job realize that our dollar does not go as far as it did a few short years ago. After paying for the necessities in life, such as gas, shelter, and food, we find ourselves with less expendable income. Those of us who have been out of a job for years understand more than most that the economy is not improving. The fact that there is even a debate in the Congress about extending long-term unemployment yet again is all the proof needed that new jobs are few and far between.
Yet we are constantly told the economy is getting better, but the American people know better because they live the economy while the ruling class is afforded the luxury of speculation and anecdotal evidence to prove to the people they are not feeling what they are feeling.
