Are the Republicans in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood?
That is the question that some former national security officials are asking:
A heavyweight lineup of former national security officials banded together late Tuesday to accuse Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) president Grover Norquist and high-ranking GOP political operative Suhail Khan of connections to the Muslim Brotherhood.
The officials authored a 45-page dossier on the issue to Cleta Mitchell, the top lawyer for the American Conservatives’ Union who in 2011 cleared Norquist of the allegations initially brought by former high-ranking Reagan official Frank Gaffney.
The signatories include numerous powerful and respected former officials, including former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, former CIA Director James Woolsey, former Florida Rep. Allen West, retired Army Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin, and former chief assistant U.S. attorney Andrew McCarthy.
The document says the group is asking Mitchell to address a “statement of facts” accompanying the letter that they say “support Mr. Gaffney’s charges,” “contradict your representations,” and “place the ACU board in the position of endorsing conduct on the part of two of its members that is at odds with the stated mission of the American Conservative Union.”
The dossier of alleged evidence concludes that domestic Islamists are waging “civilizational jihad” to destroy the West “from within” by use of “political influence operations.”
It further alleges Norquist “has had personal, professional and/or organizational association” with a number of Muslim Brotherhood operatives and that those affiliations “have enabled the influence operations of Islamists, including those of Iran.”
If this is true, and Norquist has already been cleared of these charges in 2011 for what that is worth, then this is disgusting, reprehensible, and indefensible to say the least but I wonder about the motive here.
Earlier today the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, by a 2-1 vote, ruled that San Diego County’s law making a concealed carry permit harder to obtain was unconstitutional.
The court ruled that the right to keep and bear arms is, in and of itself, a sufficient cause for bearing arms for self-defense. Moreover, it is a sufficient cause both inside and outside of one’s domicile.
According to SFGate, Judge Diarmuid O’Scannlain’s majority opinion emphasized “the right to bear arms includes the right to carry an operable arm outside the home for the lawful purpose of self-defense.”
He said the Second Amendment must be read as including “the right to carry weapons outside the home” because “the risk of armed confrontation” is in no way limited to one’s home. He supported his points by citing the examples of “a woman toting a small handgun in her purse as she walks through a dangerous neighborhood or a night-shift worker carrying a handgun in his coat as he travels to and from his job site.”
Chalk up a small victory for the law abiding gun owners of California but this battle is not over because this is sure to be appealed by the gun grabbers.
Barack Obama’s clean coal policy will cause energy prices to rise 70-80%…..for starters

The Obama regime has admitted that the president’s clean coal policies will cause the price of energy to rise 70-80% for starters, with even higher costs in the future:

House Republicans blame Ted Cruz for killing immigration reform
After pushing for immigration reform on and off for weeks John Boehner reluctantly had to back off from the legislation claiming that Barack Obama could not be trusted to enforce the parts of the law with which he disagreed.

Wendy Davis backs down from her abortion stance
Since the controversy of some apparently false claims about her past Wendy Davis has actually started to move slightly to the right in order to offset some of the harm she did to herself.
First she backed down from her anti-second amendment stance and now she appears to be doing the same with her stance on abortion:
Wendy Davis said Tuesday that she would have supported a ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, if the law adequately deferred to a woman and her doctor.
Davis, a Fort Worth senator and the likely Democratic nominee for governor, told The Dallas Morning News’ editorial board that less than one-half of 1 percent of Texas abortions occur after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Most of those were in cases where fetal abnormalities were evident or there were grave risks to the health of the woman.
“I would line up with most people in Texas who would prefer that that’s not something that happens outside of those two arenas,” Davis said.
But the Democrat said the state’s new abortion law didn’t give priority to women in those circumstances. The law allows for exceptions for fetal abnormalities and a threat to the woman’s life, but Davis said those didn’t go far enough.
“My concern, even in the way the 20-week ban was written in this particular bill, was that it didn’t give enough deference between a woman and her doctor making this difficult decision, and instead tried to legislatively define what it was,” Davis said.
Republican led House passes clean debt ceiling bill
Today 28 Republican sided with the Democrats in the House to pass a clean debt ceiling bill with no spending cuts and without reinstating the military pensions which were cut when Paul Ryan compromised on a budget deal with Patty Murray.
Once again spending will increase under the John Boehner led House just as it always does.
“Today, Republican ‘leadership’ in the House completely gave up fighting for the priorities of the American people and once again caved to the demands of President Obama and the Democrats. This latest failure is just more proof that it’s time to dump the GOP leadership in Congress,” said ForAmerica Chairman Brent Bozell.

Boston to install high definition cameras in buses using a grant from Homeland Security
From the land which once, in a time long ago, was known as the cradle of liberty comes this story, proving once and for all the Boston no longer deserves that title. The Department of Homeland Security has approved almost $7 million to be used to put high definition cameras in that city’s buses.
Homeland Security in Washington DC has awarded the MBTA about $7 million to outfit buses with the latest in live video technology.
Sophisticated new 360-degree lenses embedded in the ceilings and walls of the buses will now capture everything. And on some buses, there will even be flat screens for passengers to see what is going on.
The system cost $6.9 million, all paid for by Homeland Security. Right now, about 10 buses are outfitted but by the summer, more than 225 will have these sophisticated cameras.
Even the passengers will be able to spy upon one another, isn’t that wonderful? But, depending on your perspective, the news gets even better of worse for the police will be able to tune into these new cameras any time they want to. I think you know what me perspective is….. Read more…
Gun control activist arrested for illegally carrying a gun at an elementary school, is there more to this story than we are being told?
Two feel-good stories in one day: first we had the story of a suicide bombing instructor accidentally blowing up and killing many of his students and now we have this story about a gun control activist who was arrested for illegally carrying a gun in an elementary school:
A Buffalo, N.Y. community activist who is well known locally for pushing for a highly restrictive 2013 gun control law has been arrested for — wait for it — carrying a gun illegally at a public elementary school.
The arrested gun-control advocate, Dwayne Ferguson, caused quite a scene at Harvey Austin Elementary School, reports local CBS affiliate WIVB.
At about 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, police acted on a pair of anonymous 911 tips. A battalion of cops quickly swarmed the school. The brigade included over a dozen squad cars, the SWAT team and K9 units. The Erie County Sheriff’s Air One helicopter and what appears to be an armored vehicle also turned up.
The school was immediately placed on lockdown. Parts of two streets were closed.
About 60 students who were still on campus participating in after-school activities were funneled to the cafeteria.
Cops searched the school room by room and would not let parents on campus until they were satisfied that no shooting threat existed.
His defense is simple; he claims he forgot he was carrying a gun when he entered the school. I would argue that any law abiding citizen who forgets he is carrying a gun is not responsible enough to carry a gun in the first place and I don’t know any who would forget for they make sure they are in compliance with the law. That is why I think there is more to this story. Is this really a feel-good story after all?
Suicide bombing instructor in Iraq blows up the whole class during a demonstration
Consider this your feel-good story of the day: a suicide bombing instructor in Iraq was demonstrating to his pupils the proper way to detonate a suicide vest in order to kill infidels only to blow up the whole class, killing most of the would be martyrs.
A group of Sunni militants attending a suicide bombing training class at a camp north of Baghdad were killed on Monday when their commander unwittingly conducted a demonstration with a belt that was packed with explosives, army and police officials said.
The militants belonged to a group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, which is fighting the Shiite-dominated army of the Iraqi government, mostly in Anbar Province. But they are also linked to bomb attacks elsewhere and other fighting that has thrown Iraq deeper into sectarian violence.
Twenty-two ISIS members were killed, and 15 were wounded, in the explosion at the camp, which is in a farming area in the northeastern province of Samara, according to the police and army officials. Stores of other explosive devices and heavy weapons were also kept there, the officials said.
Anyone want to bet against Barack Obama taking credit for this by claiming he authorized the infiltration of the group and had the dummy suicide vest replaced with a live one?
Obamacare: The Obama regime delays the employer mandate until 2016
No, this is not a repost–here we go again: the Obama regime announced today that it will delay the employer mandate for companies which employ between 50 and 99 people until 2016.
The Department of Treasury announced Monday it will delay another year the Obamacare requirement for medium-sized employers to offer health insurance to full-time workers.
The Obama administration won’t enforce the rule until 2016 for business with between 50 and 99 employees.
The only question I have is why so soon? There is still over a year before these companies have to submit to the will of the Federal government so this seems to be an admission to me that the healthcare reform law is much more flawed than Barack Obama is willing to admit publicly. Why else would the regime delay this mandate instead of giving it time to see how it progresses in the next year before making this decision unless they already know what the disastrous results will be?
