In case you are unawares many of the global warming alarmists have reluctantly been forced to admit that the warming has stopped and the earth has been cooling since 2001, if not before that date. Needless to say this has the alarmists alarmed as they seek to find an explanation to determine why their end of days prophesies (for this is a religion, complete with sins against the earth and repentance through cap and trade, and their belief in their god, nature, which created us through evolution) have not come true.
According to this story they have determined that Pacific Ocean winds are to credit blame for the cooling temperatures over the last decade or so: Read more…
New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte still supports amnesty even though she admits Barack Obama cannot be trusted to enforce the law
Last week John Boehner put an end (at least for now) to his bid to grant illegal aliens amnesty stating the Barack Obama cannot be trusted to enforce immigration laws. New Hampshire Republican Senator Kelly Ayotte agrees with John Boehner when it comes to not being able to trust Barack Obama to enforce the law but still wants to move forward on comprehensive immigration reform anyway.
“Here’s the deal: The status quo is totally unacceptable,” Ayotte said on CBS News’ Face The Nation with Bob Schieffer on Sunday.
“There’s a trust deficit that the Speaker is facing right now and it’s related to ObamaCare and the disastrous rollout,” she said. “Because, let’s think about it, immigration means doing a lot of complex things well. And in addition to that, the administration keeps issuing executive orders to change the law, very frequently.”
However, Ayotte insisted the GOP should move forward anyway.
“I think we should solve this,” she continued. “I think [Boehner] can find a way forward. Certainly, the bill that came out of the Senate was not perfect, but it was a good solution to a hard problem. I think it’s an important issue to solve – not only for the country, but for the Republican Party.”

Here is the open thread for Sunday, February 9th; please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.
As usual you can follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is going on in the world. You can also subscribe to receive email updates and if you do you will never miss a post again.
In case you have not noticed I have replaced the old Twitter widget with a new, fully interactive Twitter widget. This widget updates my tweets in near real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. Is also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!?
Please check out what the New Federalist Party has been up to by clicking on the link to the right. On the NFP Facebook page you will find a link to the party platform. Check it out and if you like what you see we are currently looking for donations and delegates to the states for the convention.
Well, the state of California is in the midst of a serious drought so for the musical selection this week I have chosen ‘Prayers for Rain’ performed live by The Cure and I dedicate it to all those in California who may be affected.
While we are at it why don’t we take a moment to look at the lyrics:
you shatter me your grip on me a hold on me
so dull it kills you stifle me infectious sense of
hopelessness and prayers for rain i suffocate i
breathe in dirt and nowhere shines but desolate
and drab the hours all spent on killing time
again all waiting for the rain
you fracture me your hands on me a touch so
plain so stale it kills you strangle me entangle
me in hopelessness and prayers for rain i
deteriorate i live in dirt and nowhere glows but
drearily and tired the hours all spent on killing
time again all waiting for the rain
Could this not be said about our feelings toward the Federal government at this point?
North Carolina voter ID protesters forced by the NAACP to show ID
Some North Carolinian voters are protesting in the “Moral March” against that state’s new racist voter ID law and this event is hosted by the NAACP. However it is interesting to note that the NAACP is requiring marchers to provide ID in order to participate in this event:
North Carolinians marching to protest voter-ID laws must present a valid photo ID to participate in an NAACP-hosted protest against voter-ID laws in Raleigh on Saturday.
The central claim among the protesters is that the voter-ID laws disenfranchise certain segments of the voting population, particularly minority voters and poor voters.
According to official NAACP flyers passed out at the rally, protesters must carry the precise kind of ID that they would be expected to present at the voting booth.
Major Obama donor nominated as ambassador to Argentina
Barack Obama has nominated Noah Mamet as ambassador to Argentina even though he has never even once visited the country.
“Senator,” responded Mamet, “I haven’t had the opportunity yet to be there. I travel pretty extensively around the world. But I haven’t yet had a chance.”
So if he has never traveled to Argentina, and thusly does not have a firsthand account of the culture of that country, what makes him qualified to be the ambassador to that nation?
Washington DC advisory firm admits Obamacare is moving too fast
Since Obamacare has been officially implemented we have seen the president unilaterally change the law by issuing extensions to certain provisions of the law as well as exemptions to parts of the law.
Once millions of Americans realized that they were lied to and were not going to be able to keep their healthcare insurance after all the regime felt so much blow back that it was forced to say never mind, you can keep that plan we don’t think is good enough for you for one more year. Now it is being reported that Barack Obama is considering letting people keep what he believes in sub par insurance for three years instead of one year.
When asked about the possibility of this extension being extended this is what Brenda Gleason, president of Washington, D.C.-based advisory firm M2 Health Care Consulting, had to say:
Establishment Republicans team up with unions in an attempt to defeat the Tea Party in 2014
Do you still believe that there is not a civil war brewing within the Republican party between the establishment elitist Republicans and the more fiscally conservative Tea Party branch of the party? If so this story should resolve any doubt which you still might have.
As if it was not bad enough that John Boehner stripped fiscally conservative Tea Party Republicans from influential budget committees while threatening to punish more if they did not fall in line, and as if it was not bad enough that Karl Rove has set up a Super PAC in order to protect the incumbent establishment Republicans from Tea Party challenges, we are now learning that moderate (read establishment) Republicans have now set up another new Super PAC called Defending Main Street, which is being funded by labor unions, in order to defeat the Tea Party in the 2014 election.
The New Hampshire Police Commissioner who aided the duck killing State Representative has resigned
America’s Watchtower has been covering the story of State Representative David Campbell and his duck killing controversy. David Campbell ran over some ducks in the parking lot of a Nashua hotel horrifying guests who were outside feeding the ducks at the time.
Witnesses said that it appeared as if David Campbell was intoxicated at the time, however a field sobriety check was never performed because before the police could arrive Nashua Police Commissioner, and lawyer, Thomas Pappas came to his aid after receiving a call from David Campbell. He brought David Campbell inside and informed the police department that he would bring him in for questioning in the morning, presumably after he slept it off.
It is now being reported that six unions have sent the Senate a letter asked the body to hold hearings on the EPA’s new coal regulations.
President Barack Obama’s crackdown on coal-fired power plants is getting major pushback from a traditional Democratic ally: Unions.
Six unions are petitioning the Senate to hold hearings on Environmental Protection Agency coal plant rules.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and five other unions sent a letter to top senators on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to hold hearings on the economic impacts of the EPA’s Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) rule.
“During the rulemaking process our unions stated for the record that MATS and its short compliance timeline would result in the closing of 56 Gigawatts of coal-fired generation and the loss of approximately 250,000 jobs. Despite assurances by EPA to the contrary, our prediction is now coming to pass,” reads the letter signed by major unions, including the United Mine Workers, Boilermakers and Utility Workers.
Barack Obama to allow immigrants with ‘limited’ terror contact into the United States
According to this article Barack Obama has issued some new exemptions to people who are seeing political asylum to the United States. These new exemptions would allow people who have provided “limited material support” to terrorists to gain entry into the country.
The Obama administration has issued new exemptions to a law that bars certain asylum-seekers and refugees who provided “limited material support” to terrorists who are believed to pose no threat from the U.S.
The Department of Homeland Security and the State Department published the new exemptions Wednesday in the Federal Register to narrow a ban in the Immigration and Nationality Act excluding refugees and asylum seekers who had provided limited material support, no matter how minor, to terrorists.
“These exemptions cover five kinds of limited material support that have adversely and unfairly affected refugees and asylum seekers with no tangible connection to terrorism: material support that was insignificant in amount or provided incidentally in the course of everyday social, commercial, family or humanitarian interactions, or under significant pressure,” a DHS official explained to The Daily Caller.
