By now you have heard the heart-wrenching story of Sarah Murnaghan, the 10 year old girl dying of cystic fibrosis who needs a lung transplant as soon as possible. She is first on the list of child donors but is ineligible to receive an adult lung because she is under the age of twelve.
The parents of this girl asked Kathleen Sebelius to make an exception to the rule and allow her to be placed on the adult donor list, a request that Kathleen Sebelius declined to make. Since that time many politicians, including conservatives, and many citizens, including conservatives, have asked Kathleen Sebelius to step in. But still she refused to do so but today a federal judge has stepped in and demanded that Kathleen Sebelius make the exception.
This is great news for the Murnaghan family and I hope that this story has a happy ending although the outcome is far from certain. I have refused to write about this story because this shouldn’t be an issue of politics but now I must weigh in on this and let me warn my conservative friends out there that you may not be happy with what I am about to write. Please bear with me because I am still on your side, as you will see if you read this post until its conclusion.
Top Obama regime appointees are using secret email accounts to hide internal correspondence
According to this AP story there are top level Obama regime appointees who are using secret email accounts to conduct internal correspondence. The AP has been able to confirm that both the HHS and Labor Departments are engaged in this practice but haven’t been able to confirm how widespread this is throughout the Obama regime. It is not out of the realm to think that if these two agencies are doing this that there are also many others.
The excuse given by the most open, honest, and transparent administration in history for this practice is that it helps to cut down on unwanted email and makes their inboxes less cluttered. HOGWASH!
When Obamacare was on its path to the Supreme Court many on the left made the claim that because Justice Thomas’s wife was the founder of an anti-Obamcare group that he should be disqualified from sitting in on the case.
In my opinion there was a legitimate argument to be made here but in the end I still believed Justice Thomas could be impartial while listening to the case. However the left politically indicted Justice Thomas for the actions of his wife, so if that was the case then isn’t it also the case now? So here we go.
IRS employees testify that the order to target conservative groups came from Washington D.C.
When the IRS outed itself last month–with a planted question at a lawyers’ conference–in the scandal it is now embroiled in the agency made the claim that this was the action of a couple of rogue agents from one office in Cincinnati.
Much like the Fast and Furious scandal that excuse was laughable on its face; the only people who believed it were people who wanted to believe it, and today on ‘State of the Union’ Darrell Issa confirmed that at least two of the lower level employees in that office testified before the Oversight Committee that the order did indeed come from Washington DC.

Obamacare: People with pre-existing conditions are being denied coverage by the federal government
One of the big selling points during the Obamacare debate was the provision which would prohibit insurance companies from denying healthcare coverage based on a pre-existing condition.
When Obamacare was implemented it contained a temporary government program called the Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) which would allow people with pre-existing conditions to enroll in the program until the end of the year, at which time they are to transition to a state-sponsored healthcare exchange.
But there is one small problem with the program: it is quickly running out of money and the government is now denying people with pre-existing conditions from joining the program. Read more…
Barack Obama’s potential SEAL Team Six scandal
Two days after Osama bin Laden was killed Joe Biden revealed to the world that it was SEAL Team Six which carried out the successful mission. This was strange indeed because all SEAL teams operate under secrecy and the unit which carried out the mission should never have been identified.
The elite SEAL Team Six is a special operations unit whose actions are supposed to be classified. They uphold a strict code of secrecy. As a result, it is not publicly known which specific SEAL Team Six members were involved in the killing of the world’s most wanted terrorist, nor how many of those who participated in the raid were on the helicopter that was shot down.
We now know, however, that the elite group and their families were shocked when Vice President Joe Biden publicly identified them on May 3, 2011, two days after the raid.
This outing scared members of the team because they began to hear chatter that their lives, and the lives of their families, were in jeopardy. They were now targets of a group hell-bent on retaliation and now the families want answers.
the parents of deceased SEAL Team Six member Aaron Vaughn revealed their son’s angst following Mr. Biden’s blunder: “As soon as Joe Biden announced that it was a SEAL Team who took out Bin Laden, within 24 hours, my son called me and I rarely heard him ever sound afraid in his adult life,” said Karen Vaughn.
Mrs. Vaughn described his tone in that conversation as “extraordinarily serious.” “‘Mom, you need to wipe your social media clean. You need to get everything off of it now.’” When she asked what was wrong, he explained: “’Mom, there is chatter and your life is in danger. Our lives are in danger. So clean it up right now.‘”
Aaron Vaughn, along with several other members of SEAL Team Six, were killed a few short months after carrying out the Osama bin Laden mission when the helicopter they were riding in was shot down in Afghanistan.
If this story is true it looks as if the IRS isn’t the only extra-governmental agency using its power to stifle conservative opposition. It looks as if the EPA has been less than willing to turn over documents to several states with Republican governors which have made FOIA requests in regards to lawsuits the EPA has settled out of court in recent years. The issue at hand here is the prospect that the EPA is creating environmental regulations based on these out of court settlements, many people wish to see the documents which might have led to these new regulations.
That doesn’t really surprise me; from Fast and Furious to Benghazi and on and on, not releasing requested documents is standard operating procedure from the Obama regime, but in this instance it appears to be based solely on political affiliation:
The free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute obtained documents showing that since January 2012, the EPA granted fee waivers for 92 percent of FOIA requests from major environmental groups, while the agency rejected or ignored 81 percent fee waiver requests from conservative groups
If you are with the cause the EPA has no problem releasing the documents, but if you are a conservative you most likely will be ignored or rejected. But the bias apparently does not stop there because we are also learning the EPA may be granting fee waivers to sympathetic groups while stonewalling fee waivers to conservative groups.
The EPA denied fee waiver requests to the twelve attorneys general and the decision was appealed by the states in March. However, the EPA has been dragging its feet, twice asking for more time to consider their appeal.
The states are especially concerned given reports that the EPA has been routinely denying fee waiver requests to conservative groups seeking government records, while granting them to environmental groups that seek to push more federal involvement in state environmental rules.
There you have it, if this is true than it appears as if the EPA is involved in IRSesque style political discrimination. If you are for bigger, more intrusive environmental regulations you will not have a problem but if you are for less government intrusion most likely you will be targeted for a future relegated to the back burner and this is nothing more than political intimidation and an attempt to intimidate groups into accepting the agenda.
The United States is currently in the grips of a thugocracy willing to reach its goals by any means necessary. Remember it was Barack Obama himself who declared there was more than one way to skin a cat when the cap and trade legislation died in the Congress, now we are finding out exactly what Barack Obama meant.
Students at one college took it upon themselves to create a thank you card to the IRS for targeting conservatives and asked other students to sign it.
Needless to say, while we don’t know how many students actually signed it, they found no problem getting students to sign the card. Here are a couple of the comments from people who signed the card:
I thought it was pretty funny because the IRS is actually doing the right thing but the wrong thing at the same time, you know what I mean?
This student knows what the IRS did was wrong but she still funds it funny because she feels as if targeting conservatives is the right thing to do. The end justifies the means…..
I love discrimination!” says one student. “Support Obama, target the tea party!
I understand that this is a handful of students at one college but I still find this mindset to be very troubling and I have to wonder how many students out there agree with what the IRS did because they have a political difference with the Tea Party.
One student proclaims he/she loves discrimination, we can assume only when someone with whom they disagree is targeted, while another basically claims if you do not support Barack Obama you should be targeted.
These young people have been brought up through the government run schools their entire lives and they have been indoctrinated into the liberal mindset and apparently that mindset now finds political intimidation and government targeting of individuals who disagree with The Party as acceptable political behavior.
We’ve seen this type of activity throughout history in totalitarian governments and and makes me wonder what the future is for our country.
Obamacare: Millions of Americans with healthcare insurance are going to be forced to change plans
Remember when Barack Obama made the claim that if a person liked his or her healthcare insurance they would be unaffected by the new law because they would be able to keep their insurance?
Most of us knew from the beginning that this was not true and as healthcare premiums continue to rise–because Obamacare never addressed the issue of cost–many people have already lost the insurance they had at the time Obamacare was signed into law as companies look to save money by changing the plans they offer to their employees.
But the hits keep on coming. According to this article millions of Americans who have healthcare insurance are going to find themselves in violation of the healthcare law at the end of the year because the government does not deem their plan Obamacare-worthy. Read more…
