Gunrunner: Darrell Issa claims the operation never had “any genuine purpose”

July 20, 2011

We all know the official story according to the Obama regime in regards to Operation Gunrunner; the Obama regime was allowing the sale of weapons to known Mexican criminals in the hopes that the weapons would be tracked back to higher level Mexican criminals. That story doesn’t hold water according to Darrell Issa, as can be heard here:

According to Darrell Issa, the federal government already knew who these upper level criminals were because there were FBI and DEA informants working on the case, therefore this operation had no “genuine purpose.” They already had information on the people who they claimed they were trying to find out about.

I would disagree with Darrel Issa on one point, while the Obama regime’s official story had no “genuine purpose” there was a purpose behind this operation and I have made my feelings known about the true intent of Operation Gunrunner several times in the past; Operation Gunrunner was being used in an effort to escalate a “crisis” at the Mexican border which the Obama regime thought it could exploit in an effort to “never let a good crisis go to waste.”

The more Darrell Issa uncovers about Operation Gunrunner the more nefarious it seems; if the official story has now been debunked by Darrel Issa–and it seems to me that it has been–then there must have been another reason for the operation, they simply weren’t doing it for the hell of it.

Then and Now: Harry Reid on raising the debt ceiling

July 20, 2011

The debate over the debt ceiling increase is really starting to heat up in Washington; the House passed a “cut, cap, and balance” bill by a large majority, while at the same time the Senate is negotiating a larger spending cut by while introducing almost $1 trillion in tax increases. Meanwhile Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has introduced what he calls a backup plan which would grant Barack Obama the unilateral power to raise the debt ceiling unless vetoed by 2/3 of the House and the Senate; we all know that there is no way both the House and the Senate would override the president’s newly granted authority so this in essence hands the power to the president.

This will be an interesting couple of weeks heading up to the arbitrary August 2nd deadline imposed by the Obama regime to get a deal done by. It appears as if the Senate proposal is gaining steam and the president has backed this proposal because after all, it does include tax increases, going so far as to back off on his opposition to a short term debt ceiling increase while the deal can be worked out. But it seems highly unlikely that the House will ever fall in line with this plan so in all likelihood the budget impasse will continue.

I thought it would be interesting at this point to take a look at what Harry Reid said on the Senate floor back in 2006 when President Bush was trying to raise the debt ceiling. Read more…

Join me on Political Vindication Radio tonight

July 19, 2011

I have been asked by Frank at Political Vindication to appear on his internet radio program and have accepted. I will be on Political Vindication Radio tonight from about 8:15 until 9:00 EST, and we will be talking about the debt ceiling, Gunrunner, some New Hampshire politics, and if any big news happens today we will probably talk about that as well.

Here is the link for the show for anyone who is interested. I have appeared on Political Vindication once before, it was during the last presidential election in 2008 and I had a great time although I was a little nervous. I am sure I will be nervous again tonight, wish me luck! 🙂

Gunrunner: Darrell Issa requests documents from the FBI and the DEA

July 18, 2011

As the investigation into what could turn out to be the largest scandal in United States history drones on it seems as if it grows larger by the day.

Details are still sketchy, but Darrell Issa is now requesting that the FBI and the DEA turn over documents related to the Gunrunner scandal.

In recent weeks, we have learned of the possible involvement of paid FBI informants in Operation Fast and Furious,” Issa and Grassley wrote to Mueller. “Specifically, at least one individual who is allegedly an FBI informant might have been in communication with, and was perhaps even conspiring with, at least one suspect whom ATF was monitoring
It now looks as if the FBI and the DEA were involved in this operation and had people on the “inside” whom they thought they could trust but who were actually conspiring with the suspects that the ATF was supposedly monitoring.

The ATF, DHS, FBI, and DEA were all involved in this operation and yet we are to believe that the top law enforcer in the country–Eric Holder–had no idea what any of these agencies were up to, and neither did Barack Obama for that matter? To use Hillary Clinton’s term when speaking about General David Petraeus, this would require the willing suspension of disbelief.

Allen West calls Barack Obama’s leadership on the debt ceiling “sad” and “pathetic”

July 18, 2011

Allen West has taken exception to the fear mongering tactics of Barack Obama during the debt ceiling debate. Barack Obama made the false claim that he couldn’t guarantee Social Security checks would be mailed out in August if the debt ceiling was not raised, and Allen West does not at all approve of this scare tactic one bit.

The money for Social Security WILL be there IF Barack Obama prioritizes it, if the money is not there it will because Barack Obama doesn’t WANT the money to be there. And Allen West has taken steps to assuage the fears of the elderly by signing on to the  Priority Spending Act, which would place Social Security payments as the number four priority in the case of default, thus making the guarantee that Barack Obama is unwilling to make.

Allen West has come out swinging again; there really isn’t anything I can add to what he has said other than to ask; wouldn’t it be great to have a leader like this decide to run for president?

House prepares to vote on “cut, cap, and balance” while Barack Obama threatens a veto

July 18, 2011

Most political pundits agree; Barack Obama’s initial “big deal” proposal–which included $4 trillion in spending cuts coupled with tax increases which he knew was DOA–along with his fear-mongering tactics have given him the advantage during this debt ceiling debate. Because he feels as if he has gained the upper hand and has House Republicans back on their heels he warned the Republicans not to call his bluff.

But House Republicans have not heeded that warning and are prepared to vote on a “cut, cap, and balance” bill tomorrow. This legislation would cut spending by over $100 billion, while capping new spending at about 20% of the gross domestic product, and would allow the debt ceiling to be raised only if the Senate passes a balanced budget amendment.

Claiming that a balanced budget amendment is not necessary Barack Obama has threatened to veto this legislation in the unlikely event that it passes the Senate after the House approves the measure. Read more…

The man who assassinated Kazai’s brother was a CIA informant

July 16, 2011

Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai’s brother was assassinated by his own personal bodyguard late last week in what was considered a major victory for the Taliban. We are now beginning to learn a few details about the assassin–Sardar Mohammad–which I find to be quite interesting.

Sardar Mohammad was working with the British government  and was considered to be a top CIA informant before he was supposedly recruited by the Taliban to undertake this assassination. It seems a little odd to me that a trusted CIA informant would suddenly decide to “change teams” and kill the man he had been protected after simply being contacted by the Taliban.

What an unbelievable coincidence! Either the CIA was incompetent or they were involved, and I think it was the latter. Forgive me for being so skeptical, perhaps if it wasn’t for the fact that the US government purposely gave weapons to drug lords in both Mexico and Honduras I wouldn’t be, but maybe, just maybe, the administration was duplicitous in this assassination. With Operation Gunrunner and Operation Castaway coming to light there is no longer anyway we can take our government at its word. The federal government supplied weapons to people who are trying to hurt American citizens so how are we supposed to believe that the government was not involved in this killing in any way?

Coupled with Operation Gunrunner and Operation Castaway comes the news last week that the United States was opening up negotiations with the Taliban, and it seems to be just a little too much of a coincidence that the assassination took place so soon after the talks began.

The Obama Administration has entered into direct, secret talks with senior Afghan Taliban leaders, several people briefed about the talks told me last week. The discussions are continuing; they are of an exploratory nature and do not yet amount to a peace negotiation

The Obama regime opens up talks with the Taliban last week, and this week a man with whom the CIA had a trusted relationship kills the Afghani president’s brother? It is a sad state of affairs when one cannot trust his government to the point where a story such as this raises suspicion but the fact is that is where we are with the current regime. Barack Obama has a fleeting relationship with the truth, he has lost all credibility, and because of this we simply can no longer believe anything that comes out of his mouth–or from his propaganda machine.

I honestly hope that I am going off the deep end here; I hope that I am wrong in this, and I hope that this is nothing more than a strange coincidence, and I hope that the CIA was merely incompetent–not that that would be much more reassuring. But the fact is I cannot say beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Obama regime did not play a role in this assassination, and Barack Obama has nobody to blame but himself because he has had trouble in the past with the truth.

Allen West to Obama: Fear-mongering is not a solution, it is time to admit your economic policies failed

July 15, 2011

We have all heard Barack Obama claim that if the Republicans did not agree to raise taxes as part of a deal to raise the debt ceiling that there would be no deal. Calling the Republicans ideologues for trying to make good on their campaign promise to the American people, Barack Obama decided to use fear-mongering in order to scare the elderly into believing that they would not receive their Social Security checks next month if the debt ceiling were not raised.

Allen West has a message for Barack Obama: “Fear-mongering is not an acceptable solution” to the problem, and it is time for Barack Obama to admit to the American people that “his economic policies have failed this country.” He also went on to claim that if the Republicans are able to bring their “cut, cap, and balance” proposal to the floor next week as promised and the president doesn’t agree with it, than it is Barack Obama himself who is the “rigid ideologue who is not seriously concerned with the fiscal security of the United State of America.”

If the debt ceiling is not increased and the elderly do not receive their Social Security checks it will be because the Obama regime CHOSE not to prioritize Social Security, not because the debt ceiling wasn’t raised. The money will be there if the Obama regime wants to send out the checks. The question is; what is the Obama regime’s priority, making sure the Social Security checks are delivered, or purposely holding the checks back so that he can blame the Republicans because granny didn’t get paid?

In order to reassure the elderly that they will still receive their Social Security checks in the event of a government default Republicans have introduced legislation, backed by Allen West, called the Priority Spending Act which would prioritize government spending in the event of a default. In the event of a government default Social Security payments would be the fourth priority on the list; this would ensure seniors of a Social Security payment and remove the fear-mongering tactic of this shameless president.

If the Democrats and Barack Obama oppose this legislation there can be only one reason; they want to be able to scare granny into submission. If they oppose this legislation they will be putting partisan, fear-mongering politics ahead of providing the elderly with the security the Democrats falsely claim the elderly are lacking. They will prove once and for all that they are the ideologues who are more interested in partisan politics than doing what is best for the country.

Gunrunner: Allen West calls for Eric Holder to resign

July 14, 2011

Darrell Issa has done a magnificent job in exposing Eric Holder’s involvement in Operation Gunrunner. Now it is time for this case to be turned over to a special prosecutor for while Eric Holder denied any knowledge of the botched operation until “a few weeks ago” we have video proof that Eric Holder knew about Operation Gunrunner from the very beginning.

Eric Holder has perjured himself and needs to resign because he should be facing criminal charges at this point, yet there has not been a great out crying from our elected officials for Eric Holder’s resignation. That changed today when Allen West came out swinging and called on Eric Holder to step down. Read more…

Darrell Issa to investigate possible illegal fundraising by Barack Obama in the White House

July 13, 2011

Darrell Issa is requesting documents related to meetings Barack Obama has had in the White House in recent weeks because of the possibility that Barack Obama was engaged in illegally raising campaign donations.

The California Republican sent a letter Wednesday to DNC Executive Director Patrick Gaspard demanding all DNC records, including invitation lists and RSVPs, relating to a policy discussion President Barack Obama held with business leaders in the White House’s Blue Room on March 7. The session was organized by the DNC and all the guests were donors to Obama’s 2008 campaign.

Issa’s letter also seeks records of any other DNC events that took place or were planned in “any room of the White House, the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, the New Executive Office Building, or any other federal property on or off the White House grounds.” He also wants records regarding the use of the White House for a video Obama made for a raffle his campaign is running that seeks donations in exchange for a chance to win dinner with Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

First let me state that I find it totally inappropriate for the president to hold a raffle where the prize is dinner with the president, and I find it to be out of place to shoot a commercial for a raffle in the White House; this seems well below the office of the presidency and extremely tacky even if this does turn out to be legal. However, the question is, was this–as well as these other meetings–legal?
