Massachusetts’ State Immigration Policy- Catch and Release

November 25, 2007

mitt-romney.jpg One of the last thinks that Mitt Romney did before leaving office in Massachusetts was tell state troopers they could arrest illegal aliens for……being illegal aliens. I know, it sounds radical and irrational. Can you imagine the nerve of arresting people for being here illegally? To be honest with you, when Mitt instituted the policy just before leaving office it wreaked of a political stunt, something he could add to his resume for his white house bid. While I agree fully with this plan, he knew it would not stand once he left office, and it hasn’t. Moonbat Governor Deval Patrick rescinded the policy almost immediately after taking the oath of office.

Why am I writing about this now? Because a brand new written policy was just sent out to the State Police because there were reports that some State Police officers were still targeting illegals in the western part of the state. The nerve of these officers, who do they think they are trying to enforce the law? Now the policy is in writing so if officers try to enforce immigration laws the officers can be reprimanded. What a country. No wonder why so many people want to come here.

So let’s take a look at some non-radical, rational thinking:

“A person who happens to be here illegally who is a law-abiding person should not have to worry that the State Police are going to be trying to figure out their status and turning them over to immigration,” said Kurt Schwartz, state undersecretary of law enforcement and fire services. “But a person who is here illegally who is not law-abiding may well find themselves being investigated for violations of state law. And in that investigation it may come out that they’re here illegally.”

Before I get back to the story let’s break down that paragraph and try to make some sense of it, it that is possible. Read more…

Cambridge Massachusetts vs the Boy Scouts

For those of you from not around here, Cambridge Massachusetts is probably the most liberal city in the country. That may be over stating it a bit, San Francisco is probably still ahead, but Cambridge is one of the most liberal cities in the country, and probably the most liberal in New England. Cambridge is also a sanctuary city, although that has nothing to do with this story I thought I would throw that out there.

Cambridge recently had their city elections and the Boy Scouts had an idea. That idea, while sounding innocent enough was enough to enrage the liberal officials of this city. What was the idea that so offended Cambridge city officials? The Boy Scouts decided to have an election day drive to collect care packages for the troops serving in Iraq. They set up drop off boxes at the polling stations where people could drop off toiletries and other little items that are not available to our brave troops overseas.

Cambridge officials put a stop to this drive and made the Boy Scouts remove the drop off boxes from the polling stations. Evidently if you try to give to the soldiers a few gifts from home, that means you support the troops, and if you support the troops you must agree with the war. Cambridge can’t have anything to do with anything that they feel supports fighting the war on terror. You can be against the war and still feel that you would like to help the troops in a small way by donating magazines for them to read, but that is lost on these assholes.

“We just wanted to make a lot of troops happy,” said Scout Patrick O’Connor, 16. “I was devastated that someone would think to take (the donation boxes) out,” he said.

Patrick O’Conner is one of the boys who organized this drive. He wanted to help out because one of his relatives was injured in Iraq in an IED explosion. Cambridge gave this boy,the Boy Scouts, and the soldiers a big FUCK YOU.

The drop off boxes were removed after ONE person complained that the boxes were making a political statement. How is this a political statement? This is not making a pro war statement, God forbid, this is simply a way to support the troops. Liberals constantly say they support the troops, just not the mission, but this shows us that they do not in fact support the troops. They have exposed themselves for who they really are, anti-troops, and anti-military. Unless the military is running a humanitarian effort they want nothing to do with them.

“This was not about supporting the war or any politician or political view. This was supporting the brave men and women who are stationed overseas,” said troop committee chairman Jamisean Patterson, 35.

Of course Cambridge blames it on a lack of communication even though the troops received permission from the city and the polling stations.

Cambridge Vice Mayor Timothy J. Toomey Jr. said a breakdown in communication, rather than malice, led to the boxes being removed.

“Boy Scouts Troop 45’s efforts to support our troops are a benefit for the entire community, and the council will be working with them to ensure that their goals are fully realized,” he said in a written statement.

Now is the chance for the Boy Scouts to give the city of Cambridge a big FUCK YOU, but that is not the way the Boy Scouts operate, nor should it be. Cambridge has exposed themselves for who they really are and for now that will have to do.

I will leave you with this:

San Francisco may Ban Fireplaces in Homes

November 23, 2007

 Cross posted at Grizzly Groundswell

global-warming.jpg San Francisco seems to be on a real roll lately and they must be rolling down a hill because they are still rolling. Last week the San Francisco,s board of supervisors voted to hand out ID cards to illegals and issue gender neutral ID cards, this week they are going to vote on whether San Francisco residents will be allowed to have a fire in their own fireplace in their own homes.

I suppose I don’t even have to tell you why they want to do this, you have probably already figured it out, but it is an effort to help slow global warming. Which as can be read here is not only destroying the planet, it is destroying the universe. This is coming from the city that has previously tried to ban water coolers and has banned plastic bags in the name of global warming, so this seems like the next logical step. But there is just one small problem:

Interestingly, one loses on the issues of global warming because the odd paradox is, the more there is cloud cover or “smoke” in the air, the cooler the Earth will be. It is well documented how the Earth’s temperature cooled after the explosion of the volcano Krakatoa. From that standpoint, one ought to encourage fires which produce the maximum amount of smoke.

Of course, that position is politically absurd.

Smoke and cloud cover help keep the earth cooler, so what is this all about? Are they just trying to make it look like they care sbout the environment so much that they are willing pass legislation against having fires in San Francisco resident’s own homes? Science be damned, wait a minute, there is no science behind global warming anyways, so they can ban whatever they want and say it will help save the planet. Hell, saving the universe.

Perhaps they will begin giving out permits, for a fee of course, to residents who want a fire. Yet another solution to global warming that just happens to take citizen’s money away from them. Or perhaps this is a way to gain more control over their subjects, I mean constituents.

Global warming is about two things, money and power, so this attempt at banning people from having fires in their own homes has to be about one of those. Perhaps both. Think about this for a minute, people are starting to be told what they can do in their own homes by the government. We have already heard from the ban smoking everywhere crowd that you shouldn’t be allowed to smoke in your home if a neighbor can smell it, now this.

Happy Thanksgiving; What I am Thankful For

November 22, 2007

Happy Thanksgiving out there to everyone.

Here is what I am Thankful for on this, and every day:

My wife and children. I have a wonderful family, a wife who is also my best friend, and two well behaved (most of the time) boys who are very good kids. They make me proud.

My family. My mother and stepfather, father and stepmother, brother, sister and their spouces. My step brothers and sisters. My in-laws. I must have it pretty good, even my in-laws are OKAY.

 America

You, I am thankful to all the readers who come here on a regular basis, and those that come here once and never return.

The troops, let us not forget that while we are sitting down at the dinner table with good family and friends that our troops are far away from home this Thanksgiving fighting to preserve this freedom we are so thankful for today.

San Francisco to Issue Illegal Aliens ID Cards, and Gender Neutral Cards

November 21, 2007

San Francisco’s board of supervisors today voted 10-1, let me repeat that, 10-1 to give illegal aliens identification cards. Talk about rewarding bad behavior. People who broke the law to get here are being granted the same rights as citizens while people who are trying to go through the system to become legal residents or citizens are getting fucked. This makes absolutely no sense. We are constantly being told we can’t round them all up, we couldn’t possibly find them all yet we are able to get them to come to us so that we can hand them ID cards?

Can you imagine being from another country and having the dream to come to America and become an American, to try and live the American dream only to find out you would have been better off to break into the country, go about things the wrong way and become such a nuisance that you are given what you wanted just to shut you up? It has to be disheartening.

This coming at the same time that San Francisco will also start handing out identification cards with no gender specified for those who do not identify with their birth gender. San Francisco is on quite the role, huh? Any man can decide to go get a gender neutral ID card, dress as a woman, and without an ID proving he is a man he will be able to use a public woman’s room. Who can tell him otherwise? This man could be a potential rapist stalking his prey but because he has identified himself as other than his birth gender nobody could stop this man from trolling for victims in the woman’s room.

Does this mean they will also be handing out gender neutral illegal alien cards?

Latest New Hampshire Republican Presidential Primary Poll (11/20)

November 20, 2007

The latest CNN/WMUR New Hampshire Republican poll has been released and there is some movement in it.

Romney is holding steady with 33%

What happens next is the biggest news. Late last month Rudy was in second with about 22%, this poll has Rudy dropping to 16%, falling behind McCain who is now at 18%.

Romney and McCain are holding steady percentage wise in the polls as Rudy falls. Rudy has not campaigned much in New Hampshire and that appears to what is hurting him the most. You have to campaign here if you want the votes. Another perfect example of this is Fred Thompson, who has not campaigned in New Hampshire and has now dropped to 4% in the polls, behind Ron Paul (8%) and Mike Huckabee (5%).

Among independent voters, which make up the largest voting block in New Hampshire, Romney leads Rudy by a 38% to 20% margin with McCain coming in third at 15%. Independent voters in New Hampshire can vote in either primary and two thirds of independents polled are planning on voting in the Democrat primary.

This is all very tentative and looking at the poll result I am about to give you I would have to say everything is up in the air here, the front-runners can’t take anything for granted. That result is this:

Only 14% of Republicans polled have decided who they are going to vote for. 57% are still undecided.

This is shaping up to be an exciting primary season whenever New Hampshire finally sets our primary date.

Hopefully the latest Democrat poll will be out tomorow, if it is I will have an update.

 Stay tuned.

Boston Police to Conduct Warrantless Home Searches

November 19, 2007

In a time where the left has accused the president of trampling the constitution with his foreign surveillance program, which the left has dubbed the domestic spying program, also known as warrantless wiretapping, I find this story rather interesting. The headline of the story,”Police to Search for Guns in Homes”, is innocent enough, but when you read the story it is a little more involved than that.

Boston police are launching a program that will call upon parents in high-crime neighborhoods to allow detectives into their homes, without a warrant, to search for guns in their children’s bedrooms.

Boston police now want to prey on the fear of parents in order to illegally search their homes. Now while the left has been up in arms about the president listening to terrorists talk on the telephone, it will be interesting to see if there is an uproar over these illegal, unconstitutional searches.

How many parents will be afraid to not let the police in for fear they will look as though they are hiding something? How many parents will feel pressured to let the police in?

Police are promising they will bring no charges up against a teen if they do find an illegal weapon in the house unless the weapon was found to have been used in a crime. This seems like they are only going halfway with this. They want to break into houses to search for guns, but they don’t want to press any charges once they are found? How do they figure that will help a violent teenager. All that will teach a troubled youth is that the police are lawbreakers and will help to build their anger toward the police.

Another troubling aspect to this program is how the police will decide which homes to try to break into. It won’t just be random searches.

Police will rely primarily on tips from neighbors. They will also follow tips from the department’s anonymous hot line and investigators’ own intelligence to decide what doors to knock on. A team of about 12 officers will visit homes in four Dorchester and Roxbury neighborhoods: Grove Hall, Bowdoin Street and Geneva Avenue, Franklin Hill and Franklin Field, and Egleston Square.

Any tip whatsoever will be used to engage in this unconstitutional search. That means if you and your neighbor don’t see eye to eye they could decide to report to the police that they are afraid of your child and the police will try to search your house illegally.

If the police come to a person’s door and ask to be let in without a warrant and the person refuses, does this give the police probable cause to then go and get a warrant? This is a scary precedent being set here. We need to stop this before it ever starts.

What I find fascinating is that some are of the opinion that this is a way to empower the parents.

“What I like about this program is it really is a tool to empower the parent,” he said. “It’s a way in which they can get a hold of the household and say, ‘I don’t want that in my house.’ “

How can this be empowering the parent? The parent is just passing off responsibility to the police, they are not being empowered by this program. They are handing over their civil rights and this is considered empowerment, what has happened to us?

On a good note, there does seem to be resistance to this unconstitutional program.

“I just have a queasy feeling anytime the police try to do an end run around the Constitution,” said Thomas Nolan, a former Boston police lieutenant who now teaches criminology at Boston University. “The police have restrictions on their authority and ability to conduct searches. The Constitution was written with a very specific intent, and that was to keep the law out of private homes unless there is a written document signed by a judge and based on probable cause. Here, you don’t have that.”

That is what is truly at stake here, the constitution. This an attack on the second and fourth amendments. People were so up in arms about a surveillance program that spied on terrorist calls originating from overseas coming into the United States, which affected nobody but terrorists or terrorist sympathisers, now we have a true attack on our constitution. An attack that in many cases will affect law abiding private citizens. Where is the outrage?

Congress to Debate Defunding Abortion Clinics

November 18, 2007

Congress will soon be debating two bills, Title X Family Planning Act (S.351) and Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act (H.R. 4133). These bills would all but end federal funding of abortions by non hospitals with some exceptions. As much as I am opposed to abortion I am equally or maybe even more opposed to paying for someone else’s abortions. The National Right to Life is urging congress to pass at least one of these bills.

“Taxpayer funds should not be given to organizations that are the backbone of the abortion industry, such as Planned Parenthood,” said Douglas Johnson, legislative director of National Right to Life.

“These bills do not call for a reduction in family planning funding, rather they prevent abortion providers from receiving tax dollars,” Johnson added.

There is no excuse in today’s day and age for anyone who doesn’t want to get pregnant getting pregnant. Hell, condoms are being handed out in school without parental consent. I don’t want to pay for it. You made the mistake, you pay for it. It is not the taxpayers responsibility to correct your little problem.

According to its 2005-2006 annual report, Planned Parenthood performed nearly 20 percent of all abortions in the U.S. That’s 264,943 abortions in 2005. It received $305.3 million in government grants and contracts.

That’s allot of reward money for killing babies isn’t it? This just falls into the whole no consequences for your actions mold, doesn’t it? Getting pregnant isn’t a consequence anymore when you can have taxpayers foot the bill for you to end your pregnancy with no strings attached.

So while liberals will see this as an attack on abortion it is not. It is simply a matter of letting the person recieving the procedure pay the bill. What’s wrong with that. Womaen will still have the right to choose, they would just have to pay for it. “Gasp”
