Major Democrat Fundraiser Quits over Iraq War
Yesterday John Morgan, who has given hundreds of thousands of his own money and raised millions more quit the Democrat party in a hissy fit over the Iraq war.
”I told Chuck Schumer, I’m through,” he said, referring to the New York senator who heads the Democratic Party’s fundraising arm for the Senate. “As a Democratic donor, I am going on strike.”
Morgan is considering full-page ads in the New York Times, Washington Post and USA Today to encourage other donors to join his boycott, disgusted with the latest effort by Democratic senators to stop the war by pulling an all-nighter.
I still am suprised by the number of people who believed that the Democrats would take control and immediately end the war. That would require a plan, and the Democrats have no plan for anything. Well, they have one plan, bash Bush. That is all they really know how to do. Ask them to govern and they are at a loss.
The Democrats won a slim majority, not enough to pass any legislation without gaining the support of Republican lawmakers, how can people really expect them to deliver on their promises?

This growing frustration with the Democrat party by what seems like more and more of their constituents coupled with major fundraisers looks like it puts the Democrats between a Iraq and a hard place. They are still going to try to make it look as though they are succeeding in slowly stopping the war, all the while funding it for fear of disaserous results in Iraq if funding is stopped. Democrats are beginning to see through this ruse. Just as they are seeing through the ruse of last week’s all-nighter.
”That was all publicity and hype,” Morgan said of the round-the-clock debate. “Come on. I can sleep sitting in a chair.”
The polls suggest that Morgan is not alone in his discontent. Public approval of Congress dropped to 24 percent in one recent survey, even lower than President Bush’s dismal ratings.
”If you’re lower than Bush,” you’re lower than low,” Morgan said. “They’re not doing what we sent them there to do.”
The truth here probably that there is no way Morgan or any other contributor is going to boycott the party and risk handing control back over to the Republicans. This is also just a stunt by him to put more pressure on the Democrats to step up their efforts to end the war.
”People see that every day the Democrats in the Senate are trying to end this war,” said DSCC spokesman Matt Miller, speaking on behalf of Schumer. “The answer to ending the war is to do one of two things: convince Republican senators to switch their votes or elect more Democrats.”
That really is the bottom line, the truth is Democrats need a larger majority in the senate to end the war. The fundraisers know this and will not back a boycott that could have the opposite results. Neither will the constituents.
But, I have to admit, I am enjoying watching this semi-rebellion in the Democrat party.
The other day the Democrat leaders,(it had bi-partisan support), stripped from the homeland security bill an amendment called the John Doe amendment. This amendment would have protected concerned citizens who report suspicious activity from civil lawsuits. This legislation was in response to the Flying Imams case.
We are asked to be more vigilent in these trying times, and when we try to do the right thing…..in comes the ACLU. What a shock.
Political correctness almost led to the non-twarting of the Fort Dix six. You can read how here. The store clerk who reported the six after seeing their terrorist training video they asked him to copy was a young man. He has obviously been raised in the politically correct mindset as he at first wasn’t sure he should report it for fear of being called a racist. If somwhow these men are freed, they will now be able to sue this store clerk hero. This amendment would have stopped that.
So why would the Democrat leaders kill this measure when it had bi-partisan support? I can only think of two reasons why. They are either in the pockets of the ACLU and the trial lawyers, and value their interests more than the American people’s interest. Or they are afraid to do anything that might seem to admit that Americans need to stay vigilent. In a sick sort of way they don’t want it to seem that George Bush is right that a danger still exists. They know the are soft on national defense, and crime for that matter, and don’t want the American people to feel there is any danger for fear of losing votes.
Either way, they showed the American people where they stand on this issue, or wait, maybe they didn’t as I have not seen this reported anywhere.
New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch’s Approval Ratings
Regular readers of this blog, and more directly regular readers of my New Hampshire posts already know that I have been searching for governor John Lynch’s approval ratings without success. Yesterday WMUR had the latest approval ratings for Representatives Carol Shea-Porter, and Paul Hodes. They made the claim that their approval ratings were good even though they are both below 40%. They also had a poll showing how Senator. Sunun would fare against the Democrat opponents who have announced they would run for the Democrat seat. They even showed how he would fare against a candidate who hasn’t decided whether or not she would run.
Once again, no approval ratings for the governor. My theory has been that the numbers have gone down, so they just neglect to mention them. Governor Lynch was highly popular, then the Democrats gained control and a more liberal John Lynch appeared. And a more willing to tax and spend John Lynch. I believed that this would result in a drop in the polls.
This morning I finally found his approval ratings on the internet, still no mention of them on the television, so here they are:
64% approve
20% disapprove
16% undecided
That is a good number, and a number that most governors would love. However in January these were his numbers:
77% approve
6% disapprove
16% undecided.
So his poll numbers have dropped 13% from January to the end of June.(This latest poll was from June 23rd through June 26th). I have to be honest, these numbers are not nearly as low as I thought(or hoped) they would be. But it could be showing us a growing discontent by New Hampshire voters in the direction New Hampshire is going.

Today while watching WMUR they showed us a poll of New Hampshire Representatives Carol Shea-Porter and Paul Hodes. The anchor woman said, before they showed the numbers, New Hampshire voters weighed in on the favourability of our two congressmen, and New Hampshire approves of them. I waited with bated breath for the numbers to show me how much we approved of them now knowing we thought highly of them.
And then they showed the numbers:
Shea-Porter- 39% favorable
Hodes- 34% favorable

A British advocacy group is warning that compulsory restrictions on family sizes may become “unavoidable” if the Earth is to be saved from disaster.The Optimum Population Trust, a group that advocates curbing global population growth because of humans’ impact on the environment, says that over the next 50 years, the planet will have to deal with the largest generation of adolescents and teenagers in history.
Population control appears to be in the future in Europe. The government will soon be able to tell it’s citizens how many children they can have. I have a question, will the European Muslims also adhere to this law if it ever takes place? We already know there are pockets of areas in Europe that are being governed by Sharia law, and that do not recognize the laws of the country they live in. The world growth rate of Muslims is 2.13 and Christians is 1.36, the birth rate of Muslims is about double that of Christians. Part of their plan is to outbreed western civilization to spead Islam across the world. You can call me crazy if you want. You can call me a racist or an alarmist, but just open your eyes and take a good look around you and see what is going on.
This post was supposed to be about global warming, so I will not try to get back on point here, although there does seem to be another point I will have to address shortly. This global warming hoax appears to be a convienent excuse to promote more than one liberal idea. The main idea is tax revenue.

The first paragraph in this post mentions global warming, but as I re-read the article it has nothing to do with global warming, they just mention it in the first paragraph of the article to use it as a springboard for other liberal ides. This latest paragraph predicts many children turning to violence due to frustration over unemployment. Another reason for population control, or another reason for a greater welfare state?
And now to the point I promised to address, what is the one liberal idea that naturally has to go hand in hand with population control?
To prevent this, the report advocates a mix of government policies to prevent women worldwide from having more than an average of two children.
Recommendations for developing countries include funding to provide women much greater access to contraception and abortions.
You guessed it, abortion. Women need greater access to abortion, oh, and by the way they also need the funding. Pay up.
I started this post thinking I would be talking about population control and global warming after I read the first paragraph, however it turned into something else. Here we have them mention global warming in the guise of using it to promote abortion, population control, and welfare.
It seems to me that the global warming agenda is being used to promote hidden liberal agenda issues.

Producing 2.2lb of beef generates as much greenhouse gas as driving a car non-stop for three hours, it was claimed yesterday.
Once again the animal ativists and the vegens are going to use this to try to stop people from eating meat. It’s not good enough for them that they made the decision to stop eating meat, they want to tell us what we can and can’t eat. This will just be the means to ensure what they believe should be the end result. It’s will save the planet if we all just stop eating meat.
2.2lb of beef is responsible for greenhouse gas emissions which have the same effect as the carbon dioxide released by an ordinary car travelling at 50 miles per hour for 155 miles, a journey lasting three hours. The amount of energy consumed would light a 100-watt bulb for 20 days.
I just have one question, if cow farts are a leading factor in global warming, then wouldn’t we be helping to save the planet by killing and eating one of the planet’s biggest polluters?
It doesn’t just apply to meat eaters of course. In order to keep everyone in line with the global warming hoax they naturally still have to blame auto emmisions.
But more than two thirds of the energy used goes towards producing and transporting cattle feed.

It appears as though the universal healthcare benefits being proposed by the Democrats will now also extend to abortions. As if it isn’t bad enough that you and I have to work to make a living and supply our families with healthcare with no help from the government while people who live off the government get everything handed to them for doing nothing. Now you and I will pay for underpriviledged people to receive abortions on demand.
Edwards lauded her husband’s health-care proposal as “a true universal health-care plan” that would cover “all reproductive health services, including pregnancy termination,” referring to abortion.
Obama, not to be outdone:
Asked about his proposal for expanded access to health insurance, Obama said it would cover “reproductive-health services.” Contacted afterward, an Obama spokesman said that included abortions.
In an age where nobody has to pay the consequences for their actions this seems perfectly acceptable. The working class people are working more and more to pay for entitlements to people who are too lazy to work and provide for themselves. Now we will have to pay for this little inconveneince of an unwanted pregnancy.
Let’s make no mistake about it, when you hear the term universial heathcare it means that people who suckle off the teat of big government will be given heathcare they don’t deserve, and the government has no authority to provide, at the expence of the working class. On top of providing our families with healthcare, we will be providing the welfare state healthcare.
And now on top of that we will be paying for people’s indescretions by providing free abortions to people who do not understand and are not accountable for their actions.
Why should I have to pay for someone else’s healthcare, why should I have to pay for someone else’s abortion? I shouldn’t, if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime, as the old expression goes.
This goes beyond unwanted pregnancy. In today’s day and age, with all the knowledge we have, and with the access to birth control, there is no excuse for an unwanted pregnancy. But with the no consequences attitude this could lead to issues much more serious than pregnancy. Without the deterent of pregnancy to worry about with our young adults what goes totally unthought of is the other, more devastating problems that can occure from unprotected sex. STD and AIDS. These are issues that cannot be dealt with with surgery, these are issues that will have to be dealt with for life, however long that happens to be with some of these diseases.
It is time for the working class to stand up and condemn the universal healthcare proposals being talked about. While it may sound like a good idea to let the government control and provide us with healthcare, the only ones who will benefit from such a plan are the people who are not willing to provide healthcare themselves. The working class will be taxed to provide the less fortunate the same things that we work our asses off for.
Money will be redistributed for the greater good. This is socialism. Remember in the ’90’s this was called socialized healthcare? Now we are using the term universal healthcare to try and hide the fact that this is socialism.
I guess I got away from my original point here, and that is that abortions will be more affordable and easier to receive under the new proposals being brought forth by the Democrat candidates. And once again the working class people will be left holding the bag.

The watchdog group Judicial Watch revealed Wednesday that it is suing for access to documents from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-N.Y.) time as first lady.
The documents include Clinton’s daily office diary, her telephone logbook and her schedule.
More than a year ago, the group filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, which operated the Clinton Presidential Library records, but did not get access to the documents.
“This lawsuit is a first step in obtaining access to new documents about Hillary Clinton’s role in the Clinton White House,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said. “With Hillary Clinton aggressively pursuing the presidency, uncovering the truth about her activities in the White House is just as relevant today as it was during the Clinton era.”
The group filed its lawsuit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
“Given Mrs. Clinton’s current status as a presidential candidate, if not the front-runner for the Democratic Party’s nomination, the public interest in her tenure as First Lady is undeniable,” the lawsuit stated. “Because Mrs. Clinton seeks our nation’s highest office and may well be the next President of the United States, the public interest weighs heavily in favor of enjoining the Library from continuing to withhold the records at issue.”
ABC News’ Teddy Davis and Lindsey Ellerson Report: Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., told Planned Parenthood Tuesday that sex education for kindergartners, as long as it is “age-appropriate,” is “the right thing to do.”
This is so ridiculous I am not going to devote more than one paragraph to this. Let me just say to Obama two things. First, age appropriate sex education to a kindergartner is NO sex education. These children are too young to have any realization of what we would be teaching them about sex. In today’s world children are already growing up too fast, we don’t need to further this by teaching them about sex at such a young age. And secondly, If I as a parent want to teach my kindergarten aged child about sex, I will do it. I don’t need you to do it for me.
Happy Anniversary to Senator Ted Kennedy
Today is a day that has special meaning to Ted Kennedy. Or at least it should. 38 years ago today any chance that Ted Kennedy had of becoming president was effectively ended. 38 years ago tonight Ted Kennedy left a party, drove off a bridge into the waters of Chappaquiddick, his passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne, was killed. Sen. Kennedy went home after the accident, rumors have always been to sober up, and didn’t report the accident until the next day. All the time knowing that Mary Jo lie dying in the water. There were always rumors he was having an affair with Mary Jo, something he curiously went out of the way to deny. He tried to convince his cousin to take the fall for him. Despicable. He was also driving with a valid licence, a violation he was busted for two weeks later in another incident. Killing someone wasn’t enough to stop him driving illegally. He pled guilty only to leaving the scene of an accident.

Notice how he makes excuses by saying the bridge had no guardrail and was at an angle to the road? He does this even as he says he takes full responsibility.

This man is the second longest tenured senator next to former head of the KKK, Robert Byrd. And these two are part of what we were told would be the most ethical congress in history.
