The FBI is investigating longtime Clinton ally Terry McAuliffe for illegal campaign donations

May 23, 2016

According to this CNN story the FBI is investigating longtime Bill and Hillary Clinton friend and ally Terry McAuliffe for possible campaign violations during his tenure on The Clinton Foundation. Here is more:

Virginia Democratic Gov. Terry McAuliffe is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the FBI and prosecutors from the Justice Department’s public integrity unit, U.S. officials briefed on the probe say.

The investigation dates to at least last year and has focused, at least in part, on whether donations to his gubernatorial campaign violated the law, the officials said.
As part of the probe, the officials said, investigators have scrutinized McAuliffe’s time as a board member of the Clinton Global Initiative, a vehicle of the charitable foundation set up by former President Bill Clinton.
There are no allegations that there was any wrongdoing by The Clinton Foundation, at least as of right now, however he has a long history with possible shady deals with the Clinton’s. Here is more:

Bernie Sanders says Debbie Wasserman Schultz is not the type of chair the Democratic Party needs

May 22, 2016

The civil war within the Democratic Party is showing now signs of letting up and in fact it might just be heating up. There is no love lost between Bernie Sanders, his supporters, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz. It really began to heat up last week when the Democratic Party Chairwoman told Bernie Sanders, in Clintonesque “bring them to heal”  style language, that he needed to get his supporters “in line.”

This set off a firestorm with the Senator from Vermont’s supporters and Debbie Wasserman Schultz quickly began to feel the Bern.  Bernie Sanders had the chance to smooth the waters when he appeared on Face the Nation today but instead he decided to add fuel to the fire by claiming that she is not the type of leader the Democratic Party needs.

May 22, 2016

open-thread  Here is the open thread for Sunday, May 22nd. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and to discuss whatever issues arise during the course of the day. Nothing is off-topic here.

Last week we discussed 9 stories, did you miss any of them? If so there is an easy way to make sure it does not happen again. I understand that all of you are busy and cannot always find the time to check the blog for updates so why not subscribe to America’s Watchtower and receive email updates whenever I write a new post? That is the easiest way to follow the blog to ensure you never miss another post.

In addition to subscribing you can also follow America’s Watchtower on Facebook and Twitter by clicking the links on the right. But you will get more than that for I often post links to articles I probably will not be writing about so it is a great way to keep up with what is happening.

The Twitter widget in the sidebar is fully interactive. This widget updates my tweets in real time and allows you to respond to or retweet my tweets right from the blog. It also allows you to tweet me right from America’s Watchtower. How cool is that! If you do not have a Twitter account what better reason do you need to sign up for one!

Here is Evanescence performing “Bring Me To Life” preformed live.

In this song Amy Lee sings about being broken inside and she sings about looking for someone to “save me from the nothing I’ve become.” She is most likely singing about a relationship which has gone bad and the feeling of desperation which comes in the wake of it but there is someone who can save you when you are broken and down–she is looking in the wrong place…

Psalm 34:18: “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 147:3: “He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.”

Judge orders Justice Department lawyers to undergo ethics training after misleading the court on Executive amnesty

May 20, 2016

Over one year ago U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen claimed the Obama regime mislead the courts when the Justice Department claimed the DAPA and DACA programs (Executive amnesty) would not start before February 18 of 2015 when in fact the programs started before then.

This led the Obama regime to issue an apology to the court, (which I see as an admission of guilt) claiming that this was a simple “misunderstanding” and that the regime did not intentionally mislead the court.  The Obama regime hoped this admission would “fully resolve this issue.”

  It did not.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is feeling the Bern

May 20, 2016

The civil war brewing in the Democratic Party has now ensnared Debbie Wasserman Schultz after the Democratic National Committee chairwoman told Bernie Sanders to tell his supporters to “get in line.” (In Hillary Clinton’s terms this means he needs to “bring them to heal.”)

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is now feeling the Bern  and not in a good way, here is more:

Bernie Sanders supporters aren’t fond of Hillary Clinton.

But they really don’t like Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chairwoman and Florida lawmaker.

Sanders supporters blame Wasserman Schultz for what they see as system rigged against their candidate and say he is being cheated by contests closed to independents and unfair weight to superdelegates.

“I think I’m honestly starting to hate @DWStweets more than @realDonaldTrump,” one Sanders supporter tweeted on Thursday, with the hashtag #FeelTheBern.

Other hashtags being used by Sanders supporters on Thursday included #DebbieDowner, #DownwithDebbie and #DumpDebbie.

The online anger erupted this week after Wasserman Schultz called on Sanders to get his supporters in line after a rowdy Nevada Democratic convention where Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) endured a hearty booing. Wasserman Schultz also criticized death threats and obscene messages left on the voicemail of the chairwoman of the Nevada state party.

Rasmussen poll shows Donald Trump with a 5 point lead over Hillary Clinton

May 19, 2016

Yesterday a Fox News poll showed Donald Trump with a 3 point lead over Hillary Clinton in a general election match up and today a new Rasmussen poll is  out which shows the billionaire businessman with a 5 point lead over the former Secretary of State.

  Here is more:

Trump earns 42% support to Clinton’s 37% when Likely U.S. Voters are asked whom they would vote for if the presidential election were held today.

Much like the Fox News poll this poll shows Donald Trump with a little bit of momentum:

Trump earns 42% support to Clinton’s 37% when Likely U.S. Voters are asked whom they would vote for if the presidential election were held today.

This poll was taken before Donald Trump released the names of his potential Supreme Court nominees so it will be interesting to see how his list will affect the poll when it comes out next week. It is still very early in the process, and anything can happen before the election, but all indicators at this time point to a much closer general election than the mainstream media would have us believe.

The latest Fox News poll shows Donald Trump beating Hillary Clinton

May 18, 2016

A new Fox News poll is out which shows Donald Trump with a slight lead over Hillary Clinton nationally. Here is more:

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump leads Hillary Clinton in a hypothetical general election matchup, according to a Fox News poll released Wednesday evening.

Trump leads Clinton 45 percent to 42 percent, within the poll’s 3-point margin of error.

The poll is within the margin of error, however in the last Fox News poll the former Secretary of State held a seven point lead so momentum might be on Donald Trump’s side right now.

In the same poll conducted in April, Clinton led by 7 points — 48 percent to 41 percent.

The sad part of this whole thing to me is that a majority of voters do not think either of these candidates is trustworthy:

Asked whether Trump is honest and trustworthy, 40 percent of registered voters surveyed said he is, while 57 percent said he is not. Asked the same of Clinton, 31 percent said she is and 66 percent said she is not.

I am with the majority on this because I do not trust either candidate either but for different reasons…

I am not a big fan of national polls but this could be an indicator of national sentiment toward the two candidates. Of course many times news organizations use polls to shape the news rather than report the news and just like every other news outlet Fox News has an agenda.

CNN finally realizes there is unrest in the Democratic Party

May 17, 2016

A theme of mine over the last week is how there is unrest in the Democratic Party which has not been reported by the mainstream media, while at the same time the mainstream media was declaring the end of the Republican Party.

My theory goes something like this: This is not the way it was supposed to happen, at least according to the mainstream media and the political pundits–but I repeat myself. According to those people supposedly in the know the huge Republican field was supposed to create chaos within the Republican party which would destroy the party and hand an easy victory to Hillary Clinton. Meanwhile the Democratic primary was supposed to be the coronation of Hillary Clinton as the first woman to be nominated by a major party. But is has turned out to be the exact opposite: while the Republican party might still split over the nomination of Donald Trump the signs are beginning to appear that make it look as if this will not happen. The party leaders are beginning to coalesce around the presumptive nominee while it is the Democratic party which is facing a revolt with its membership.

Judicial Watch to start interviewing Hillary Clinton’s aides under oath this month

May 17, 2016

Yesterday America’s Watchtower wrote about Judicial Watch seeking an “order of discovery” with a request to interview Hillary Clinton and some of her top aides over her email scandal, and this came after a decision in March which granted the conservative watchdog group  “legal discovery” in the case.

Judicial Watch is wasting no time as today the group announced it would be interviewing Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills within the next two months.

Judicial Watch seeks an interview with Hillary Clinton over her email scandal

May 16, 2016

Judicial Watch has announced that it is seeking an order of discovery with a request to interview Hillary Clinton and some of her top aides over her email scandal. Here is more:

Judicial Watch announced today that it has filed a proposed order for discovery with a federal court that seeks the testimony of Hillary Clinton about her use of non-state.gov email account(s) for official State Department business.  Judicial Watch’s discovery plan also seeks the testimony of Cheryl Mills, Clinton’s former chief of staff; and Jacob “Jake” Sullivan, former senior advisor and deputy chief of staff, as well as other current and former State Department officials.  Judicial Watch proposes the testimony take place over 12 weeks.

Today’s filing comes in a July 2014 Freedom of Information (FOIA) lawsuit seeking records and communications in the Secretary’s Office related to the since discredited talking points used by then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice to describe the nature of the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attack (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State (No. 1:14-cv-01242)).

Clinton’s proposed testimony would cover the search in response to Judicial Watch’s FOIA request

Supporters of Hillary Clinton might be wondering what legal standing Judicial Watch has in issuing this request.
