How many times have bloggers stated that our elected officials do not understand the Constitution, our founding, or our history? I know I have made this claim many times in the past.
Sheila Jackson Lee, who earlier stated that the Democrats number one priority should be writing Executive Orders for the president to sign, is one such individual who does not seem to be able to grasp the separation of powers granted under the Constitution and today she took her ignorance of America’s founding to a new low when she stated the Constitution was 400 years old.
Here is what she said:

Yesterday America’s Watchtower wrote about the allegation that the CIA hacked into the Congress computers during an investigation on interrogation policies. But that post focused on Dianne Feinstein’s hypocrisy on this scandal compared to her indifference concerning the NSA spying scandal. Today’s post will focus on the scandal itself because if these allegations are true it is a major scandal.
In fact today Darrell Issa basically said if the allegations are true it might just amount to treason.

In what could be a referendum on Obamacare, Republican wins Florida’s special election
All eyes were on Florida’s special election today because it pitted a Republican who was running against Obamacare against a Democrat who was telling seniors the Republican candidate was an extremist who wanted to take Medicare and Social Security away from them. This was seen by many as a bellwether election which could possibly predict the fortunes of both parties in November.
It is now being reported that the Republican candidate, David Jolly, has defeated the Democratic candidate, Alex Sink, by a margin of 48-46% with Libertarian candidate, Lucas Overby, gathering roughly 5% of the vote.
The Republicans will claim this is a bellwether election and a sign of things to come in November, but is it?
It is hard to say because a Republican held this seat previously while Barack Obama carried the district by a margin of 52-48% in 2008 and by 50-49% in 2012. And David Jolly failed to win a 50% majority in a district held by Republicans in the first place.
I like to think this is a sign of things to come in November in regards to Obamacare but I am not sure it is at this point. I guess we will just have to wait and see…..
As every single American should understand the Constitution set up a republican form of government. In fact, the Constitution actually guarantees each state a republican form of government.
If you ask most Americans today, and this includes our elected officials, what form of government exists in the United States of America you will almost always be told we are a democracy.
I cannot put into words how upset I get when I hear a politician call America a democracy for the Founding Fathers feared democracy almost as much as they distrusted Monarchy. They understood that a democracy was the tyranny of the majority over the minority.
It is now being reported in this story that Mitt Romney will be gathering his 2012 campaign aides together later this month for what is being described as a ski weekend.
The 2012 Republican presidential nominee has invited his debate prep advisers and senior campaign aides to his mountaintop chalet in Park City, Utah, for a weekend of skiing later this month, according to two people close to Romney.
The reunion of Romney’s political brain trust comes amid a burst of positive buzz about the former Massachusetts governor — from favorable reviews of “MITT,” the Netflix documentary about his campaigns, to chatter among some powerful GOP donors about another Romney presidential campaign in 2016.
Mitt Romney has denied he is contemplating another run at the presidency and one of his aides has stated that this weekend trip has nothing to do with politics:
Desperate times call for desperate measures and Obamacare is facing desperate times because it has been reported that young adults are not signing up for the president’s signature legislation. Obamacare is dependent upon young, healthy people signing up in order to offset the costs of people with preexisting conditions. It is a massive redistribution scheme which will only work if healthy people sign up even though their providers will be forced to provide them with services which they will never need–the government needs to take the money from the services these people will not use in order to use it to pay for those who are going to cost the system the most.
So desperate is the situation that the White House is now reaching out to mothers and asking them to tell their “adult children” to sign up for Obamacare:

We have already seen unions, for selfish reasons, begin to turn on Obamacare by claiming they were betrayed by Barack Obama. See, when the unions thought that they were going to be exempt from the law they did not give a damn how the law might hurt most Americans because they thought they were going to be above the law. Now that they have found out they are no better than non-union Americans they are starting to regret supporting both the law and the president.
The latest example comes from this story, which cites a new report by a major union which claims low wage union employees could face what amounts to a $5 an hour cut in pay due to the higher costs of insurance under Obamacare.
