Illinois Democrat says an “assault weapons” ban is just the beginning, could handguns be next?
When confronted by a reporter whom she thought was sympathetic to extreme gun control laws Illinois Democrat Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky admitted that an assault weapon ban was “just the beginning.”
She admitted that Sandy Hook provided the gun grabbers with an opportunity and they intend to take advantage of that opportunity. (Never let a good crisis go to waste.)
When questioned on the possibility of banning handguns she didn’t rule it out. Here is the exchange: Read more…
The sequester will not affect Michelle Obama’s birthday bash
Barack Obama promised immediate painful results due to the sequester as different agencies have to decide how to deal with a decrease in the increase of future spending.
He said children would go hungry and wouldn’t he able to get immunizations, he claimed teachers would be laid off, national security would suffer, illegal aliens would be let go, firefighters and policemen would lose their jobs, and the list went on and on…..
We are now learning about one scheduled event which will go on as planned and will not be sacrificed as a result of the sequester–Michelle Obama’s 50th birthday bash, complete with performances by Adele and Beyonce.
It may be true that Adele and Beyonce will not be charging for their performances but wouldn’t you like to know how much the dinners, staff, and security are going to cost for this event?
When (ahem) “spending cuts” are ordered everyone has to prioritize where the existing money is going to be spent so as to cause the least amount of pain and here we have a perfect example of where the president and the First Lady’s priorities truly lie. While we are being asked to sacrifice for the greater good life goes on as planned for the ruling class elites.

The number of gun companies refusing to sell to the United States government triples in two weeks
A couple of weeks ago I wrote this post about some gun manufacturers who were refusing to sell to the United States government. For those who might not be aware of what the federal government is up to here is a brief summary taken from my post from two weeks ago:
The Department of Homeland Security, the IRS, NOAH, and various other government agencies have been buying billions of rounds of ammunition as well as thousands of the same type of assault weapons which they are trying to ban ownership of in the private sector.
This is being done for one of two reasons: One; the Federal government is preparing for the insurrection they feel is coming after Barack Obama achieves his goal of crashing the economy, or two; despite the propaganda campaign being waged by the government and the media they realize that in the end they will not be able to pass gun control legislation so they are attempting to achieve the next best thing. The government could be trying to dry up the ammunition supply by purchasing as many rounds as possible, thereby creating a shortage and driving up the price making it impossible for the American people to by ammunition for the guns they own.
At the time that post was written there were 34 gun companies which were refusing to sell to the United States government but that has changed in the two weeks since my original post.
There are now 118 companies refusing to sell to the United States government, more than triple the original number.
Here is the complete list of gun companies which are refusing to go along with our government’s nefarious plot to circumvent our second amendment rights.
Dianne Feinstein claims it is legal to hunt humans with assault weapons and high capacity magazines
The Democrats are getting close to introducing their new gun control legislation and yesterday Dianne Feinstein upped her anti-gun rhetoric by claiming it was legal to hunt humans. This is what she had to say:
The time has come, America, to step up and ban these weapons. The other very important part of this bill is to ban large capacity ammunition feeding devices, those that hold more than 10 rounds. We have federal regulations and state laws that prohibit hunting ducks with more than three rounds. And yet it’s legal to hunt humans with 15-round, 30-round, even 150-round magazines
And all this time I thought there were laws on the books against murder but I must be mistaken because certainly Dianne Feinstein would know if there were. If hunting humans is legal and Dianne Feinstein has an issue with that why isn’t she trying to pass a law against hunting humans? (By the way, when is human hunting season?)
Instead she is trying to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines so I guess she doesn’t have a problem with legalized human hunting, she only has a problem with the weapons which she claims are being used in this sport–I guess hunting humans with a handgun and a ten round magazine is okay with her. Apparently she also doesn’t have a problem with the federal government selling these exact same weapons to Mexican drug lords either because she didn’t bring that up.
This just in: John McCain still hasn’t called her a “wacko bird.”
Seriously though; this just shows us that the left will say anything in order to push their radical, anti-second amendment, unconstitutional agenda.
Barack Obama blames sequestration for vaccine cuts, but he proposed the cuts a year ago
In his continuing attempt to make the sequestration appear as painful as possible the Obama regime is blaming the automatic spending cuts for the reduction in the availability of vaccinations to children.
The Obama administration claims that because of the $44 billion in across-the-board spending cuts (sequestration) this year, tens of thousands of American children will not be vaccinated.
That sounds bad, doesn’t it? After all, who wants to see thousands of children denied vaccinations? But as always, things are not quite what they seem when it comes to Barack Obama.
Once upon a time John McCain was labeled a maverick Republican by the media for opposing President Bush and other Republicans. This was a label he cherished and it was a label he used while running against Barack Obama in the 2008 election.
John McCain failed to realize he was used by the media to push an anti-Bush agenda–once the Democrats had their candidate in 2008 the media abandoned John McCain because they had a new anti-Bush candidate and this one was a Democrat, so they had mo more use for him.
So, John McCain considered himself a maverick for causing waves within the Republican party, but that was then and this is now.
Despite sequester the stock market hits an all time high
In each of the last four days the stock market has set a new high, yet Barack Obama hasn’t mentioned it once and that is interesting because you would think he would point to this as proof that his economic policies are working.
When the stock market hit its first of four consecutive all time highs Jay Carney was asked about the news and he declared he didn’t talk about the stock market:
I don’t comment on markets,” Carney insisted on Tuesday
As this article points out, this seems to be a rather new policy for Jay Carney:
Just two months ago, however, Carney cited the stock market as proof that Republicans were harming the economy.
“I would remind you of the damage caused to our economy by the approach that House Republicans took on this matter just in the summer of 2011,” Carney said in January when asked about fiscal negotiations between Obama and House Speaker John Boehner. “As a result of their flirtation with default, the stock market plummeted. The Dow fell 7 percent, or almost 900 points, in late July and early August of 2011. The United States was downgraded and the Dow fell another 10 percent, or 1100 points after the S&P downgraded the United States. Consumer confidence plummeted to its lowest point since the financial crisis in 2008.”
When it was time to blame the Republicans for a dropping market he went into a good deal of detail pointing out what effects the Republicans were having on the market.
So why then isn’t Jay Carney willing to comment on the stock market to tout Barack Obama’s policies?
The answer is simple in my opinion: In the weeks leading up to the sequester Barack Obama was telling everyone who was willing to listen that the sequester would destroy the economy he was trying to save, but obviously the stock market wasn’t listening.
So as the stock market rises it proves Barack Obama was embellishing the disastrous effects the sequester would have on the economy so Jay Carney is not bringing attention to it for this reason alone.
At this point Barack Obama is actually routing against the economy because he believes that if it slows he will be able to blame the Republicans and the sequester and the Democrats will be able to ride the bad economy into a majority in 2014.
John McCain and Lindsey Graham slam Rand Paul’s filibuster after having dinner with Barack Obama
Shortly before noon yesterday Rand Paul took to the floor of the Senate and began a thirteen hour filibuster, holding up Barack Obama’s nominee to be the Director of the CIA, seeking the answer to what should have been an easy question.
For quite some time Rand Paul has been asking Eric Holder if he and Barack Obama thought it was constitutional and legal for the president of the United States to order a drone strike on an American citizen on American soil, but he had been unable to get a straight answer from the Attorney General so yesterday he seized the opportunity to bring this issue to light and put pressure on the Obama regime to answer it once and for all.
Yesterday Eric Holder admitted that he thought drone strikes on United States citizens in America is legal and constitutional under certain circumstances. This is what he had to say:
It is possible, I suppose, to imagine an extraordinary circumstance in which it would be necessary and appropriate under the Constitution and applicable laws of the United States for the President to authorize the military to use lethal force within the territory of the United States
Were such an emergency to arise, I would examine the particular facts and circumstances before advising the President on the scope of his authority
The scope of the president’s authority is already well defined, perhaps Eric Holder has never heard of posse comitatus, so I shall take a moment to inform him: In 1878 the Posse Comitatus Act was passed which made it illegal for the federal government to use the United States military against the people of the United States without an Act of Congress. It is illegal for the president to execute an American citizen without a warrant and without charges. It seems to me as if these drone strikes that Eric Holder is defending would fall under posse comitatus. Read more…
