Union rally speaker to Scott Walker: “We cut your head off”
Two days ago in Illinois at a union protest of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker T. Ray McJunkins took to the stage in front of a crowd of 2,000 and said this:
We are the Davids …and you may be a big giant, a big goliath, but David had 5 smooth stones that brought Goliath down … all he had was stones and a sling shot, and I just wonder out there among us, how many of you came with your sling today? … Load your slings up today when we leave here, putting a smooth stone of equal rights at the collective bargaining table and throw it at Goliath … And Goliath will come down, Scott Walker we send you back to Wisconsin as David did Goliath, we cut your head off and go back into town, singing a new song!
We cut your head off? Apparently some people didn’t get Barack Obama’s memo after Gabby Giffords was shot that it was time to usher in a new era of civility or his message that it was time to start using words that heal instead of words that hurt.
Clearly McJunkins was not speaking literally but this does bring an interesting example of hypocrisy to light:
Sex, cocaine, and the Secret Service, oh my!
Two major scandals broke last week under Barack Obama’s watch: the first being the GSA’s outrageous squandering of taxpayer money on lavish birthday parties, and extravagant trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas, and the second being the reportedly cocaine and booze fueled prostitution scandal within the Secret Service shortly before the president’s visit to Columbia.
While he can not be held directly responsible for the actions of the GSA or the Secret Service this is still an embarrassing week for the president to say the least. And while he is not directly responsible for these scandals the fact is that these people work for the president and this happened under his watch so he can be held partially responsible for the actions of his employees.
Holding bosses accountable for the actions of his or her employees happens all the time in the public sector: bosses, who through either their inaction or ignorance, allow his or her employees to get away with doing things that are detrimental to the larger workforce, or the well being of the company, are punished right along with the employees who committed the violations for providing the employees with the environment to carry out the violations in the first place. In essence the boss is punished for a lack of leadership.
It seems as if the people employed by the GSA and the Secret Service now have the mentality that they can do no wrong because they are entitled to these fringe benefits and they are not used to being called on the carpet for their actions. This mentality had to have come from somewhere, and I can only think that these people did not fear any repercussions from their boss, Barack Obama, so they took advantage of him.
Because of this Barack Obama enabled these scandals because he provided them with the environment which led to these two agencies’ indiscretions. If they feared him they would not have taken advantage of him, but they perceived what many of us already knew–Barack Obama is no leader and they sensed he could be taken advantage of, and that is precisely what they did.
Gunrunner: Texas Senate candidate Ted Cruz releases ad slamming Obama and Holder for Fast and Furious
Ted Cruz is running for the Senate from the state of Texas and he has released a new ad, which I found at The Right Scoop, slamming Barack Obama and Eric Holder for their role in the deadly operation known as Fast and Furious. He goes so far as to claim that if Eric Holder lied to the Congress–and I think I have shown in previous posts that he did–he should be removed from office and possibly even face criminal charges.

Joe Kennedy III calls for an end to cheap oil
The title of this post is not a misprint; Joe Kennedy III is running for Barney Frank’s vacated House seat and he believes it is time to put an end to the era of cheap oil.
Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama — they’ve all talked about the same thing: the need to wean ourselves off our debilitating dependence on foreign oil,” Kennedy wrote.
“The cycle that allows cheap oil to trump tough choices has to stop,” he continued. “Forty years is enough”
Barack Obama once promised that energy prices would necessarily skyrocket under his plan, and he also once stated that he didn’t have a problem with the high price of gas when Bush was president, he only wish the price rose more slowly so people had a chance to get used to it. It appears to me as if Joe Kennedy III and Barack Obama are on the same page on this issue.
At a time when are Americans are struggling, in part due to the high price of gas, it appears as if Joe Kennedy is out of touch with the people he wants to represent and more interested in pushing his green agenda even if it hurts the people he claims to care so much about. He does not have a problem with the high price of gas because he thinks this will force people to look at green energy alternatives. All we have to do is look at Solyndra, SunPower, SoloPower, Abound Solar, Solar Trust, and BrightSource (a company in which Robert Kennedy Jr. just happens to be the largest shareholder) to see the fallacy of this policy.
These companies combined received billions of dollars of federal money and yet all failed because the technology isn’t there at this time, and here we have Joe Kennedy III who appears ready to push Barack Obama’s failed green energy initiative if he is able to beat Sean Bielat in November.
Could it actually be true that Republicans are finally going to start pushing back against Barack Obama? It looks as if that could very well be the case as today the Republicans filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality Barack Obama’s decision to make a recess appointment to the NRLB when the Senate wasn’t actually in recess.
Here is what Mitch McConnell had to say about this decision:
The president’s decision to circumvent the American people by installing his appointees at a powerful federal agency, when the Senate was not in recess, and without obtaining the advice and consent of the Senate, is an unprecedented power grab. We will demonstrate to the court how the president’s unconstitutional actions fundamentally endanger the Congress’s role in providing a check on the excesses of the executive branch
All I can say about this decision is, it is about damn time.
The GSA and the entitlement mentality
I have been negligent in not writing about the GSA scandal up to this point but as the scandal continues to grow I feel as if it is time to touch on this scandal however briefly. I will not go into all the details of this scandal as everyone who is paying attention already knows the details–from Las Vegas trips to island hopping as a birthday present to a weeklong business trip to Hawaii for a one hour ribbon cutting ceremony–there has been a long train of abuses within the department which according to the mission statement on their website is dedicated to government efficiency and a policy of “no waste.”
Apparently the GSA doesn’t apply its own standards to itself, but I think the most appalling revelations in this scandal are the rap videos made by GSA employees in which they brag about their abuses of taxpayer money because I think it shows us the entitlement mentality which the government has been trying to spread throughout the voting public in order to win political support has actually crept into the government itself. (The GSA is not alone in this mentality as is evidenced by the fact that Utah Republican Orrin Hatch recently said he is offended that someone would dare to run against him in the primary–apparently he feels this seat is rightfully his and nobody has the right to try to take it away from him.)
GSA employees either do not give a damn about the money being spent on their extravaganzas because they aren’t spending their own money, or they feel as if they are entitled to live the high life on the backs of taxpaying Americans and at this point I don’t know which scenario is worse.
At this point you have to wonder who is overseeing the overseers, who is holding these people accountable, and is there a lack of leadership at the very top of the federal government that has made scandals like this one and the scandal involving the Secret Service possible? Perhaps they feel as if nobody is going to question their actions or hold them responsible. And is it possible that this lack of leadership has emboldened their entitlement mentality for it is clear to me that these people actually feel as if they have done nothing wrong.
The Brady Campaign blames the NRA for Trayvon Martin’s death
From the moment that the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin story made national headlines the left has been attempting to use this story to pursue a political agenda. First this was labeled as a hate crime, the left looked at George Zimmerman’s name and assumed he was a white guy who “executed” Trayvon Martin because he was guilty of “walking while black in a gated community.” People like Democrat Representative Hank Johnson racially profiled George Zimmerman based solely on his name, but it turned out that Zimmerman is Hispanic so that line of attack fell by the wayside.
Next came the attack on stand your ground laws as we were told that these types of laws, which reaffirm and individual’s second amendment right, lead people to act as if the United States was the wild west and emboldened people to commit murder who otherwise wouldn’t have been carrying a sidearm. But with the news that Janet Napolitano actually signed a stand your ground bill into law in Arizona in 2006 the left doesn’t seem as willing to blame the shooting on this type of law anymore. Stand your ground laws can no longer be pinned solely on radical right wingers who cling to their bible and their guns so it was no longer advantageous for the left to make the claim these laws were at fault in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
For the first time in months my mind is clear
Without boring you with the details; on and off from sometime around the middle of December there has been a work related issue on my mind which I feel has preoccupied my mind and at times and has hurt the quality of my posts. (There would be people out there–as I have learned through some of the comments–who think there was no quality to my posts anyway, but this is a relevent term.)
This issue gave me an important decision to make and over the last six weeks to two months, as the situation came to a head and I was forced to make a final decision, there were many nights when I was distracted and didn’t feel like posting but I tried to distance myself from what I was facing and uphold what I consider to be a responsibility to all those who read my blog on a regular basis.
My head still told me that I needed to carry on at America’s Watchtower but at times my heart wasn’t in it because my mind was elsewhere, and I feel as if this led me to make several posts which if I had it to do over again I wouldn’t make, or at least would think twice about.
I have finally made my decision and earlier today I let everyone involved know what my intentions were. It still remains to be seen whether or not I made the right decision, but with the decision made my mind is clear for the first time in a long time and I feel relieved. I will be taking the rest of the evening off and look forward to jumping back into the fight tomorrow without any personal distractions.

Below is a video I found over at Conservative Hideout in which Bill Whittle talks about the history of political correctness which I found very interesting and I thought I would share it with you.
On Wednesday, April 11th, Democrat strategist Hilary Rosen made her now infamous remark that Ann Romney never worked a day in her life because she decided to be a stay at home mom for her five children. This naturally drew a firestorm from stay at home moms all across the nation who know how much work goes into taking care of their children, and Democrats–including Barack Obama–have distanced themselves from this remark amid the firestorm.
But there is an aspect to this story which I feel hasn’t received the attention it should have; while Barack Obama may be distancing himself from the remark now, this was an intentional and coordinated effort by the Obama regime, not simply a gaffe by a member of the Democrat party. Matt over at Conservative Hideout had a post about how Hilary Rosen was most likely a surrogate of the Obama regime who was charged with spreading the president’s us against them class warfare rhetoric while providing cover for Obama and allowing him to distance himself from the remarks he actually approved of beforehand, but I think it goes a little bit deeper still. This was more than just an attempt to smear the Romney’s as being out of touch because this was part of a larger effort. It is this larger effort that I feel hasn’t received the attention is deserves.
How have I come to the conclusion that there is a larger effort at work here? It’s simple, it is all in the timing:
