Eric Holder to change FOIA rules to protect Barack Obama
With the Fast and Furious, Gangwalker, Grenadewalker, Castaway, Solyndra, Lightsquared, SunPower, and Fisker scandals threatening to take down the Obama regime Eric Holder has to do something to save what is quickly turning into the most corrupt and least transparent presidency in United States history.
Thanks to Jim at Conservatives on Fire for finding this story, now we know how the “Justice” Department is planning to protect the Obama regime:
The most transparent administration in history has struck another blow for opaqueness with a proposed new federal regulation expanding its ability to respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, as the new rule states, “as if the excluded documents did not exist.”
The proposed rule change would allow the government to just say the documents don’t exist, eviscerating FOIA and pre-empting the right to challenge the secrecy. A court cannot examine a document the government says doesn’t exist.
There you have it; Eric Holder has been stonewalling these investigations by delaying the release of tons of paperwork and emails related to the scandals all the while working on a FOIA rule change that in effect is a virtual paper shredder. The wording of the proposed new rule is being finalized and the Obama regime is hoping that it will go into effect before the end of the year. It appears as if because this is a rule change that it will be done through executive fiat and will not have to pass through the Congress.
Under current FOIA law the federal government can withhold certain documents for various reasons, but the people have a right to challenge the denial in court. The court has access to the paper in question and can issue a ruling for or against its release. But as the linked article states; the court cannot review a paper the federal government claims does not exist.
With the swipe of a pen FOIA will be wiped out for the government will simply be able to state that a document does not exist and there will be no way to prove or disprove the claim, and no manner in which to challenge the claim. Suddenly the man who promised to run the most open, honest, and transparent regime is United States history is about to close the door on all openness forever. And it is all being done to protect the man who is now presiding over what is probably the most corrupt regime in the history of the United States.
Gunrunner: Weapons sold under Fast and Furious were targets of gun control advocates, not of Mexican drug lords
According to this article Barack Obama had a conversation with Jim Brady regarding gun control:
“I just want you to know that we are working on it,” Brady recalled the president telling them. “We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.”
In the meeting, she said, Obama discussed how records get into the system and what can be done about firearms retailers. Her husband specifically brought up the proposed ban on large magazine clips, and she noted that even former vice president Dick Cheney had suggested that some restrictions on the clips might make sense.
“He just laughed,” Sarah Brady said approvingly of the president. Both she and her husband, she emphasized, had absolute confidence that the president was committed to regulation.
Barack Obama told Jim Brady that he was working on gun control legislation but first certain processes had to be worked on under the radar. That certainly is an interesting quote, isn’t it? What did Barack Obama mean when he said he was working on things under the radar?
Fast and Furious comes to mind, but of course the official explanation for the scandal is the weapons were sold to straw purchasers so that they could be traced back to known Mexican drug lords, so how could this be part of a plan to implement gun control laws on law abiding American citizens?
Gunrunner: Hillary Clinton testifies that the “Justice” Department did not apply for a waiver to send guns into Mexico
Hillary Clinton testified in front of the House Foreign Relations Committee yesterday and it appears as if she had two goals she wanted to accomplish; the first goal being to cover her own ass by distancing herself from the growing Fast and Furious scandal and the second, protecting the “Justice” Department by introducing plausible deniability.
Hillary Clinton testified that as far as she knew the “Justice” Department did not request a waiver, which was needed under federal law, when weapons were going to be transferred to another nation.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified in the House Foreign Relations Committee Thursday that there was “no record” that the Justice Department had given the State Department a “head up” about Operation Fast and Furious, in which guns were allowed to flow from the United States to drug traffickers in Mexico, and that the State Department had found “no evidence” that DOJ had applied for a license or waiver to send guns to a foreign country, which a member of the committee told her would have been required under U.S. law.
Gunrunner: White House aide is unavailable for comment because he was reassigned to Iraq
At least three people who were directly involved in the deadly and criminal Operation Fast and Furious scandal received promotions from the Obama regime, most likely in return for their silence on this matter. But this story takes it to another level altogether and gives new meaning to John Kerry’s “botched joke” about getting stuck in Iraq.
Darrell Issa’s investigation into Fast and Furious is getting close to the White House and he requested to speak with former White House aide Kevin O’Reilly to ask about contact he had made with the ATF about the scandal. Darrell Issa was told that Mr. O’Reilly as unavailable because he was on assignment in Iraq.
PJ Media did a little investigative journalism and found out that Kevin O’Reilly wasn’t merely on assignment in Iraq, he has been reassigned to the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau for Iraq. He is now working in Iraq.
Through a tip, PJ Media learned that Kevin O’Reilly was unexpectedly named director of the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau for Iraq (INL-Iraq). Long-time INL-Iraq employee Virginia Ramadan had been expected to get the position — many were quite surprised when she did not.
Kevin O’Reilly was the White House aide who was in contact with the man who was in charge of Operation Fast and Furious while the scandal was in operation, Bill Newell, and he was “unexpectedly” reassigned to a position in Iraq when everyone in the Obama regime thought the job was going to go to another more qualified person, and he is now no longer available for comment. Isn’t that just convenient, what an unbelievable coincidence! The coverup continues.
Gunrunner: Janet Napolitano grilled by Congressman Gowdy
Janet Napolitano was questioned by Congressman Gowdy on the deadly Operation Fast and Furious scandal. During this exchange Representative Gowdy informed the DHS secretary that Fast and Furious was an OCDETF operation and not simply an ATF operation. He also reminds Janet Napolitano that all OCDETF operations require the approval of the Department of Justice, a fact that she admits is true.
So if Operation Fast and Furious was in fact an OCDETF operation it means that somebody in the “Justice” Department had to know about and approve the deadly operation, yet even while admitting OCDETF operations need “Justice” Department approval she refuses to answer when asked if this means that if Operation Fast and Furious was an OCDETF operation that the “Justice” Department would have had to approve it. (A fact that she admitted to when speaking on general terms.)
She talked herself around in circles and while doing so admitted that she didn’t know what the hell was going on. In my opinion, if this it the truth (and I have my doubts) this is not much better than if she had known what is going on for it shows us that at best the Obama regime has within its ranks a bunch of incapable buffoons who have no idea what the hell the are doing. And that is the best case scenario; the worst case scenario is that someone in the Obama regime is an accessory in Brian Terry’s murder.
Border Patrol agent sentenced to two years in jail for lifting an illegal immigrant’s hands above his head during a drug bust
Both the Democrats and the Republicans claim that they want to crack down on illegal immigration, but the truth is that each party has its own reasons for keeping the illegal immigration train rolling and neither side is serious about cracking down on the problem. Border Patrol Agents are caught in the middle; they try to do their jobs arresting people who enter the country illegally and under both Republican and Democrat administrations they face criminal charges for doing the job they were hired to do.
In 2007, under President Bush, Border Patrol Agents Ramos and Campean were sentenced to jail for shooting an illegal immigrant in the ass during an attempted arrest of the criminal. They languished in jail for two years before President Bush finally commuted their sentences. Mind you, these two agents were never pardoned for trying to do their jobs. The most troubling part of this story is the fact that the illegal immigrant who was shot was granted immunity in return for his testimony against the Border Patrol Agents.

Did you think that ACORN was gone forever? Well, it isn’t. In fact the truth is ACORN is alive and well, sure it is fractured and decentralized but it has been reconstituted and is working as smaller “separate” organizations all across the country for the same goal it always had.
And now we learn that ACORN–or the New York Communities for Change, as it is being called in New York–is not only still up to their old ways, but is also working behind the scenes to support the Occupy “Fill in the Blank” movement. They have moved beyond the realm of voter fraud and are now expanding into the business of public upheaval.
Sources said NYCC has hired about 100 former ACORN-affiliated staff members from other cities – paying some of them $100 a day – to attend and support Occupy Wall Street. Dozens of New York homeless people recruited from shelters are also being paid to support the protests, at the rate of $10 an hour, the sources said.
At least some of those hired are being used as door-to-door canvassers to collect money that’s used to support the protests.
We recently learned that this “grassroots” effort has a bank account in New York of about $500,000–not too shabby for what is supposed to be a spontaneous movement coming from the “99%”–and now it is coming to light where some of this money may have been coming from.
Did the Department of Homeland Security leak documents in an attempt to bring down Rick Perry?
According to this story the Department of Homeland Security may have found a new threat, and that threat is…..Rick Perry. The story is just breaking and as of this time there are few details but it appears as if a member of the Department of Homeland Security, Mohamed Elibiary, accessed documents which were meant strictly for official use and quickly decided that leaking them to the press constituted official use.
Yes, he approached us and gave us some reports marked FOUO [For Official Use Only] that he said showed a pattern of Islamophobia at the department. He emphasized that some of the regional fusion centers were shut down a few years ago after the ACLU complained that they were targeting Muslim civil rights groups and said that this was being directed by [Texas Gov.] Rick Perry
It appears as if Mohamed Elibiary’s intent was to use these documents in an attempt to bring down a political opponent of Barack Obama but:
We looked at the reports and they weren’t as he had billed them to us. They seem to be pretty straightforward, nothing remotely resembling Islamophobia that we saw. I think he was hoping we would bite and not give it too much of a look in light of the other media outfits jumping on the Islamophobia bandwagon
Unfortunately for Mr. Elibiary and the Obama regime the news outlet actually decided to read the documents before running the story and quickly realized that Elibiary was “misrepresenting” the facts in the case. If this is true we have a case of a government agency under the authority of the president working not on its legitimate function of protecting the citizenry but instead working to ensure that Barack Obama gets reelected by bringing down his political “enemies.” What other possible reasons could there be for a member of the Department of Homeland Security to purposely “misrepresent” the facts in a case involving a man who hopes to unseat Barack Obama and become the next leader of the still free United States of America?
I have used this line on another issue but it applies here as well if this story is true: This sounds more like the actions of a Lenin or Stalin controlled communist Russia than that of a freedom and liberty loving America. Barack Obama and the regime are coming to the realization that Barack Obama more than likely will not be reelected and because they cannot win at the ballot box they are pulling out all the stops to “eliminate” his political “enemies.”
Details are still sketchy, but this is an issue that deserves close scrutiny as more details are made public.
Former USSR citizen confronts the Occupy Wall Street protesters
Matt over at Conservative Hideout has been doing a fabulous job at keeping us informed on the Occupy Wall Street protesters and quite frankly I am not sure how he does it. It seems as if every time I visit there are several more updates and it is hard to keep up with him. But what follows is a video I saw on Conservative Hideout this morning and I feel is the best video on the OWS protesters to date. It features a man who lived in the former USSR for 29 years confronting a woman who is holding a poster with leftist icon Che Guevara. He asks her the difference between North and South Korea and her answer will amaze you.
But the best, and most telling, part of the video is when the man tells the Che fan and another younger protester that he is speaking from experience; the young man states that the Russian man must be an exile who was thrown out of Russia for robbing the people. Someone might want to explain to this young man how they really dealt with political enemies in the USSR because he is in obvious need of a history lesson or two.
David Duke endorses Occupy Wall Street
Making a statement which sounds like something taken out of an Adolf Hitler speech, one time Grand Wizard of the KKK and former Republican hopeful for the presidential nomination–David Duke–has endorsed the Occupy Wall Street movement:
The American Nazi Party and the Communist Party USA have already endorsed the Occupy Wall Street movement and now they can add David Duke to their list of prestigious endorsers. The old saying goes something like this: you can judge a person by the company he keeps, and I would add that you can also judge a movement by the same standard.
