Video:Bill Maher Defends George W Bush? Well, Sort of

October 21, 2007

A protester interrupted Bill Maher during “Real Time with Bill Maher”, it was all caught on live television on the east coast before being edited for the west coast.

The host tried to shout down the audience member, who only became more agitated.

“Do we have some (expletive) security in this building,” Maher yelled, “or do I have to come down there and kick his (expletive)?”

When security reached the man’s aisle and the man resisted leaving, Maher ran into the seats and helped them push him out the door, shouting “Out! Out! Out!”

Several other protesters, sprinkled throughout the audience, then stood up and shouted.

“This isn’t the Iowa Caucus, OK, we’re not here to debate,” Maher shouted with most of his audience cheering him on. “This is the problem with live television.”

You would probably guess, as I did, that the protester was a supporter of the president, and that is what pissed off Bill Maher, but you would be wrong.

Maher was talking science during one of his weekly panel discussions when a protester in his audience stood up, held up a smuggled-in sign reading “9/11 is a cover up fraud” and shouted comments to the same effect.

A 9/11 truther casued the whole dust up, and Bill Maher threw him out. Said Maher:

“It’s the only time I defend Bush,” he said.

Bill Maher opposes everything the president stands for, they are on opposite sides of the political spectrum. While many celebrities, like Rosie O’Donnell, and far left wing zealots hate the president so much they WANT to believe the president was behind 9/11, at least Bill Maher has this little bit of decency left in him.

Republican wins Special Election for Louisiana Governor

October 21, 2007

louisiana_governor_s_racesff_lawh117_20071021001918.jpgA Republican has won the governorship in the state of Louisiana. U.S. Rep. Bobby Jindal won the election to replace the incompetent Gov. Kathleen Blanco who was not running for re-election. While the main stream media tried to pin the lack of preparedness to help after hurricane Katrina, it was Kathleen Blanco who showed the real lack of leadership and preparedness. Governor-elect Jindal’s story seems to be an inspiring one.

U.S. Rep. Bobby Jindal became the nation’s youngest governor and the first nonwhite to hold post in Louisiana since Reconstruction when he carried more than half the vote to defeat 11 opponents.

Jindal, the Republican 36-year-old son of Indian immigrants, had 53 percent with 625,036 votes with about 92 percent of the vote tallied. It was more than enough to win Saturday’s election outright and avoid a Nov. 17 runoff.

“My mom and dad came to this country in pursuit of the American dream. And guess what happened. They found the American Dream to be alive and well right here in Louisiana,” he said to cheers and applause at his victory party.

His parents came here the LEGAL way and made something of themselves. They didn’t have it handed to them. When all we here about is how these immigrants and poor people can’t get ahead on their own and they need government help, this proves otherwise. Anyone willing to work hard can get ahead and make something out of themselves and I am tired of hearing the Democrats bash this country day in and day out.

Political analysts said Jindal built up support as a sort of “buyer’s remorse” from people who voted for Blanco last time and had second thoughts about that decision. Blanco was widely criticized for the state’s response to Hurricane Katrina and she announced months ago that she would not seek re-election.

“I think the Jindal camp, almost explicitly, (wanted) to cast it this way: If you were able to revote, who would you vote for?” said Pearson Cross, a University of Louisiana at Lafayette political scientist.

While this may only be one Republican victory it is a start and we can hope that this small trend continues. I am not willing to concede the fact that a Democrat will win the election in ’08. The media likes to forecast how many governor seats the Republicans will lose, well here is one that they won, let’s see how newsworthy it is deemed.

Louisiana has the first Democrat to fall, now I can hope that New Hampshire has the next one.

New York Governor Orders State Officials to Give Driver’s Licenses to Illegals

October 20, 2007

 Cross posted on Grizzly Groundswell

According to this article in the Washington Times, New York Governor Eliot Spitzer has ordered state officials to start handing out driver’s licenses to illegal aliens.

New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer has started a major political fight over immigration by ordering state officials to issue driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, prompting at least one county legislature to defy the executive order and pushing toward a showdown in court.

Thank God at least some counties are giving the governor a big “FU”.

Monroe County legislature defied the governor and ordered its county clerk to require anyone seeking a driver’s license to provide a valid Social Security number. The decision runs counter to Mr. Spitzer’s order, in which illegal aliens with valid foreign passports would be eligible to obtain a state driver’s license

This is, once again, amazing to me that this is happening in America. Illegals are getting more and more rights and privileges that should be reserved for American citizens and LEGAL immigrants. Why should someone wanting to come to this country do so legally? It’s not worth it. It takes to long, and while they are waiting who knows how many are breaking into the country, demanding and getting rights they don’t deserve. Meanwhile people waiting for their number to be called so they can come here are getting the shaft. So are the American people.

But if you disagree with moonbat Spitzer, you are rabid and evil and bigoted.

“The rabid right that wants to pile on and use this to demagogue the issue will not carry the day in New York state,” he said recently. “Those who view this as a political issue once again are taking the state in the wrong direction.”

If you disagree with Spitzer he claims it is political. Why is it that if you want people to uphold the law to come to this country you are part of the “rabid right”? God forbid that we want desirable people to come to this country. If a person can’t even respect America’s law on immigrating legally, how can we expect them to respect any other of America’s laws? WE CANT!

I believe that New York is a motor-voter state, so when you apply and receive a valid driver’s license you may register to vote. Does that start to make you a little nervous? It does me. Once illegals get their driver;s licenses they will be able to register to vote. NON CITIZENS with the right to vote. Criminals by breaking the law to get here, will have the right to vote. How many of them would actually show up at the polls? I don’t know, but what I do know is that the Democrats will offer them the world for a vote. Guess which party the illegals will vote for. The party that promises to give them free healthcare, welfare, Medicaid, and on and on.

We have brave men and women fighting overseas to protect our interests at home, yet we are being beaten from within by the Democrat party willing to sell their souls for a few votes. We are going to lose America as we know it if we continue to cater to people who come here and demand we assimilate to their culture instead of them assimilating into ours.

America is reaching critical mass and we must stop this trend before it is too late.

Nancy Pelosi Rebukes Rep. Stark for his Iraq War Comment

October 19, 2007

I can’t believe I am going to say this, but here goes. Nancy Pelosi has finally said nancy_pelosi_image1.jpgsomething I agree with. God, I feel dirty now, I think I will take a shower after this post.

Today Nancy Pelosi condemned Rep. Stark for saying the president was amused by soldiers getting their heads blown off. You can see the video here.

“While members of Congress are passionate about their views, what Congressman Stark said during the debate was inappropriate and distracted from the seriousness of the subject at hand—providing health care for America’s children,” Pelosi said.

She really agrees with what Rep.Stark said, however the congress’ dismal approval ratings coupled with her lack of leadership and failure to get anything accomplished has her on the defensive. She made a tactical move here to try and boost her approval ratings. If congress had even gotten one bill signed by the president she may have taken the offensive here and defended Stark for his right to free speech but she didn’t because she was afraid to open herself up to the do-nothing congress motto that she helped to pin on the Republican led congress.

Ted Kennedy says, Alternative Energy? Not in my Backyard

October 19, 2007

dontdoit.jpgLiberals have a way of telling people how they should live their lives for the betterment of the common good. However when it comes to these same liberals living the lifestyle they want us to lead that is another story. Speaking of another story, that leads me to this story.

Liberals, such as Ted Kennedy are constantly talking about alternative energies, about renewable energies. They are telling us we need to invest in these energies as a country to reduce our dependency on foreign oil. We could reduce our dependency on foreign oil by drilling for more domestic oil, but liberals like Ted Kennedy can’t have that.

We could put up wind-farms off shore, that sounds like a great idea to me. However I don’t live next to the ocean so the building of these farms will have no profound effect on my lifestyle. Do you know who does live on the ocean front where the wind-farms are supposed to be built? Ted Kennedy, who is for alternative, and renewable energy. So you would think he would be happy that an alternative energy source would be built so close to his house, wouldn’t you? He can lead by example. WRONG. Ted Kennedy suffers from the not-in-my-backyard mentality that he opposes when it doesn’t effect him.

Sen. Ted Kennedy and many residents who own coastal property from where they could see the wind turbines on a clear day oppose the project

Ted Kennedy is a hypocrite. I thought he, and his other liberal friends have been telling Americans that we need to sacrifice in order to relieve America from her burden on foreign oil. This is the perfect opportunity for Ted Kennedy to lead by example and sacrifice a little bit by giving up some of his ocean view for the betterment of the common good. Isn’t that what he has been saying? Why should we listen to him when he tells us to sacrifice when he is unwilling to sacrifice himself? The wind-farms would help America become less dependent on foreign oil but Ted Kennedy is too worried his view might become obstructed.

San Francisco Looking into Safe Injection Rooms for Addicts

October 19, 2007

This is where the liberal mantra of “they are going to do it anyways” takes us to next. As if it weren’t bad enough that 11 year olds were “going to have sex anyways” so we must provide them with birth control instead of educating them that what they are engaging in may have consequences, we now learn that San Francisco (figures) is looking into the possibility of opening up safe injection rooms. Yes, we are talking about what it sounds like, just read this:

City health officials took steps Thursday toward opening the nation’s first legal safe-injection room, where addicts could shoot up heroin, cocaine and other drugs under the supervision of nurses.

Addicts who are breaking the law would be able to have nurse supervision under this proposal. INSANE. This is what America has come down to, instead of punishing the criminals, we are making it easier for them to break the law. We are encouraging them to break the law. What has happened to my country?

Having the conversation today will help us figure out whether this is a way to reduce the harms and improve the health of our community,” said Grant Colfax, director of HIV prevention for the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

Okay, everybody knows the risks that come with intravenous drug use, HIV being one of them. But you know what will happen if the law is enforced instead of enabling the drug users? The users would go to jail. Instead of providing them a room to shoot up in we should be providing them with a jail cell where they will be unable to do the drugs. They will be unable to commit crimes for drug money. They will no longer be a burden on society, and it will improve the health of the community.

How is the injection room justified when it seems as though it would be helping criminals to break the law? I’m glad you asked:

Temple University law professor Scott Burris told the audience at Thursday’s forum that a supervised injection room would seem to run afoul of federal drug possession laws and a state statute that makes it illegal to operate a crack house or any place where drugs are used, but only if the police and federal agents enforce them.

“The law isn’t a barrier,” Burris said. “The issue of whether it’s legal doesn’t come up until somebody is arrested.”

In his mind the law isn’t an issue because it isn’t enforced anyways, and I suppose he is correct. What good is having a law if it isn’t enforced?

This is where I am going to turn into the stereo-typical angry right wing Republican. If you watch Discovery channel, or Animal Planet, or any other nature show one thing is evident. Nature has a way of weeding out the weak. Predators kill the weak and sickly prey while the strongest survive. Drug addicts are the weak members of society. If they want to shoot heroin, then whatever consequences that become them, they deserve, including death by overdose. Society will be stronger without them. But don’t tell me we need taxpayer funded rooms to help them shoot up. Next you will tell me that we need to provide free heroin so that the addicts won’t have to commit robbery for drug money, where does it stop? We shouldn’t be making it easier on these people, we should be cracking down on them, making them pay for their crimes. While they will not be able to do drugs while in jail, they will at least be receiving free room and board.

Just not a safe injection room.

Massachusetts tax Dollars at Work…..Carving Pumpkins

October 19, 2007

Massachusetts moonbat Governor Deval Patrick ran on the promise of cutting the property tax burden on the citizens of Massachusetts. After his election he said he couldn’t cut any programs because they were necessary programs, so he planned on raising other taxes to compensate for the property tax cut, which never came.

So, with all those necessary programs that couldn’t be cut, let’s look at an example of how Massachusetts is spending taxpayer money. Although I live in New Hampshire, I work in Massachusetts and pay their state income tax, so this is also my money at work here.

Hundreds of Attorney General Martha Coakley’s employees turned out for an on-the-clock, (my emphasis), pumpkin carving presentation at the State House yesterday, taking two hours out of the work day to view a Power Point presentation of their Jack-O-Lantern creations.

Isn’t that nice, they spent my money on a pumpkin carving contest. Maybe they can justify it by giving the hack-o-lanterns, as the Boston Herald called them, to low income families who can’t afford their own pumpkins. At least then they will be using my money the way they love to the most, by giving it to someone else.

Coakley staffers jammed the Gardner Auditorium, which is usually reserved for public hearings, for the three-hour event, which was closed to the public. The mandatory taxpayer-funded staff meeting began at 10 a.m. and included lunch and a contest to see which division of the AG’s office created the best pumpkin carvings.

They closed down an auditorium that is reserved for public meetings so nobody could see this abuse of tax payer money. However a reporter who was turned away was able to glance in and see what was going on.

A reporter was told it was a private event and turned away at the auditorium, despite it’s location in the middle of the State House. Through the auditorium windows, Coakley employees could be seen viewing carved pumpkins on a wide screen display as part of the “team building” contest the AG organized.

What happens in the Massachusetts state house, stays in the Massachusetts state house. I have just one question for the liberal politicians of Massachusetts, will you have a CHRISTMAS tree decorating party, or is that to politically incorrect?

Charlie Gibson Admits Good News is No News in Iraq

October 18, 2007

One item from Baghdad today.  The news is… that there is no news.  The police told us that, to their knowledge, there were no major acts of violence.  Attacks are down in Baghdad and today no bombings or roadside explosions were reported.

That comment was made by Charlie Gibson on World News Tonight on ABC. What I find telling about this comment is how it shows us his liberal bias. We all knew it existed, but he let it slip out into the open with that comment. How else can you explain the fact that he believes that no attacks in Baghdad is no news? This IS news, it is good news. Good news being bad for the left has to go unreported, hence no news. God forbid that Charlie Gibson actually reported that violence is down, that statement actually looks as though he is saddened by the fact there is no violent news to report.

If all were right in this country, the fact that violent attacks are down would be reported as news, not thought of as no news. But the fact that we are hearing reports that the tide is turning in Iraq, and that is bad for Democrats, the media, including Charlie Gibson, has to downplay this so-called no news in order to protect the Democrat party.

That statement is a perfect example of the liberal bias shown by the public relations branch of the Democrat party, known as the mainstream media.

Video: Rep. Stark (D-CA) says Bush gets Amusement from People Being Blown Up

October 18, 2007

Check out this video of this congressman as he says Bush derives amusement from having people blown up. He also implies that we will not have enough children grow up to fight the war because of Bush’s veto of SCHIPS.

Liberalism, Replacing Parental Rights with Government Control

October 17, 2007

I want to take this time to write about four different stories, these stories are separate events, four separate news items, yet are connected by a common theme. A dangerous theme. A despicable theme. Actually they are connected be two themes, parent’s rights, and liberalism.

Three of these stories are from my state of New Hampshire, the other from Maine. New England has blurred into one big blue mess so it’s safe to say that if a law is made in Maine, it will make it into law in New Hampshire, likewise with laws made in Vermont or Massachusetts. I think it is safe to use the story from Maine in this post under the above premise.

I hope to use this post to illustrate how deranged and absurd liberalism can be and has become. Read more…
