I wrote this post a couple of days ago about the CBO’s revised numbers concerning Obamacare which estimated that upwards of 4 million people could lose their employer based healthcare coverage by 2016. Of course we remember that Barack Obama promised that anyone who liked their healthcare coverage would not be affected by the new law because they would be able to keep their insurance, well that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
But as bad as that number is, it gets even worse for those people who like their employer provided healthcare coverage, as can be seen in this article, because the number of people who could lose their healthcare coverage could be as high as 20 million in an extreme case scenario. Defenders of Obamacare are pointing out the fact that 20 million people is a small portion of the 160 million people who currently have employer provided healthcare coverage. I am sure it will make the people who lose their healthcare coverage feel much better knowing they are in the minority, and that most people weren’t affected by Barack Obama’s broken promise.
Last Thursday the president secretly signed into law a bill which will place limits both our right to free speech and the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances–a direct assault on the first amendment. I first read about this troubling story this morning on Sentry Journal and Bunkerville, I suggest you read both these excellent blogs for their take on this issue.
What this bill–H.R. 347–does is give the president the authority to grant anyone he wants Secret Service protection, and it grants the person who receives the protection the authority to unilaterally declare that it is illegal for people to protest at an event he or she is attending. This bill goes so far as to make it a felony offense to disregard this order. This bill is effectively limiting political speech at a political event.
Obamacare: CBO estimates 4 million people will lose their healthcare benefits by 2016
While making the case for passing healthcare reform Barack Obama promised over and over again to all of those who were concerned about losing their current healthcare coverage that if you liked your insurance you would be able to keep it–you would be unaffected while millions of people who could not afford insurance would be able to get insurance.
Many of us tried to warn people that this simply was not going to be the case because Obamacare was designed to incentivize employers to drop healthcare coverage for their employees by making it much cheaper to pay a fine for not offering healthcare insurance than it would be in continuing it once the onslaught of new regulations began to take effect.
The goal of Obamacare has always been to drive the private insurers out of business by making it so expensive that people couldn’t afford their own insurance; this would drive up support for a single payer system and put our healthcare solely in the hands of the government. And it is working flawlessly.
The new regulations are just starting to be handed down by Kathleen Sebelius, and these regulations will necessarily mean that healthcare premiums will rise, and this is only the beginning as most regulations will not be decreed until after the 2012 election. But the effects will soon be felt: The CBO is now estimating that four million Americans will lose their employer provided healthcare policies by 2016.
If you are one of those four million Americans and you like your healthcare, well, you are out of luck.
Rick Santorum wins Alabama and Mississippi
Rick Santorum pulled out two big victories last night in Alabama and Mississippi and once again the inevitable nominee–Mitt Romney–was unable to seal the deal, calling into question if conservatives will ever gain enough trust in the Republican establishment’s choice to pull the lever for him–now or in November.
The south was considered to be less fertile ground for a liberal candidate such as Mitt Romney, but his showing in these contests still has to be a disappointment to him because he was hoping at best to win Mississippi to stem the bleeding of an Alabama loss, or in a worse case scenario he was hoping Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich would split the two states to there would be no clear conservative alternative to Mitt Romney.
By winning both Alabama and Mississippi Rick Santorum may have solidified his position as the non-Romney candidate, at least perception-wise in the eyes of the voters even if he is only awarded slightly more delegates than Newt Gingrich. This could help Rick Santorum moving forward if he is able to gain momentum based on these wins. So far Rick Santorum has failed gain any real momentum from his victories, but maybe that is about to change if voters start to look at him as THE non-Romney candidate because it is starting to get late in the process and if there ever was a time for the voters to coalesce around a single non-Romney candidate it would appear as if the time is now.
With the three races ending up so close the candidates will take home roughly the same amount of delegates so Romney’s lead will remain virtually unchanged, but Romney still must be wondering what he must do to connect with the voters he is going to need in November if he does end up winning the nomination.
With these three candidates polling so close together, and with there being no sign that New Gingrich is going to drop out, the prospects of a brokered convention appear more and more likely every day.
Obamacare: $1 monthly ‘abortion surcharge’ to be included in healthcare exchange plans
The biggest issue that many people had in the debate leading up to the passage of the Obamacare legislation was the fact that most Representatives and Senators who would be voting on the bill didn’t bother to read the legislation they would be voting on. Congressman John Conyer actually asked what good it would do to read the bill because the Congress still wouldn’t know what was in it unless they each hired two lawyers, and Nancy Pelosi famously quipped “we have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it.”
But what went underreported in my opinion was the fact that even if all the Congressmen had read the bill, and had enough lawyers to explain to them what was in the bill, they still wouldn’t know what was going to be in the final bill because the legislation tasked Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius with creating certain Obamacare guidelines AFTER the legislation was signed into law.
Earlier today Mitt Romney voiced his displeasure at the prospect of a brokered convention.
Look, if we go all the way to the convention we would be – we would [be] signaling our doom in terms of replacing President Obama,” Romney said on Fox News.
“You’re going to see me getting the delegates I need to become the nominee and we sure as heck are not going to go to a convention. The Communities Putting Prevention to Work Initiative was a program which was created in the stimulus bill with the goal of helping to fight Michell Obama’s pet cause–obesity–and in setting up this initiative it was awarded $230 million in stimulus money.
CPPW–and another initiative created in the stimulus bill, the Community Transformation Grants–have taken some of that stimulus money and spent in on lobbying for their cause. In essence we have a government initiative taking government (taxpayer) money and using a portion of that money to lobby the government for more money.
The Health and Human Services Secretary–Kathleen Sebelius–testified in front of a congressional subcommittee that this was indeed happening, and that she was aware it was happening all along. She also defended this action by stating that the lobbying was taking place at the local level and not at the federal level, which she claims makes this action legal.
It is becoming quite obvious that Sandra Fluke is a political plant designed to advance the leftist agenda, and if it weren’t for Rush Limbaugh the left’s plan would have failed and she would still he languishing in political irrelevance. Sandra Fluke isn’t the innocent young lady the left would have us believe she is.
Sandra Fluke is a 30 year old WOMAN who chose to go to Georgetown University specifically because this institute of higher learning did not offer birth control, and as a lifelong activist she chose to go there with the purpose of making birth control a national issue. What a remarkable stroke of luck for Ms. Fluke that this just happened to coincide with the Obama regime’s assault on religious freedom. Or maybe not.
Did Barack Obama reach a deal with Benjamin Netanyahu to delay military action against Iran until after the election?
White House spokesman Jay Carney is denying a report by Israeli media that Benjamin Netanyahu has asked Barack Obama for bunker busting bombs and refueling planes to support Israel if and when that country attacks Iran. However, one government official–who wishes to remain unnamed–confirmed that this request was indeed made by Netanyahu to Leon Panetta, but that no deal has been struck.
The same Israeli newspaper is also reporting that Barack Obama has agreed to Netanyahu’s request, but only with the assurance that Israel will not attack Iran until 2013. If true this would just happen to coincide nicely with the coming election because it would push back any hostilities which could hamper Barack Obama’s reelection until after the election is over.
We have conflicting stories here, so which one is true?
Those oh-so-tolerant liberals are in full throat and are being exposed as the hypocrites many of them are as they call–or hope–for the death of Rush Limbaugh over his ‘slut’ comment.
Here is some of what is being said about Rush Limbaugh:
“Execute Rush, now!” states one; “Don’t just drop sponsorship someone kill this pig now please!!!!,”
I think karma got a death grip on breitbart, I think his passing is inspirational. Hopefully rush will die next,” reads another message directed at Limbaugh. Meanwhile, in comments posted at the L.A. Times Facebook wall, still undeleted as this article is written, readers state that it “would be nice to see that fat douche taken down but I’m not holding my breath”; “crossing fingers for a huge heart attack
Oh yeah, Rush. If I ever see you out somewhere (which I probably won’t since I hang out in places where non-whites are allowed), I’m going to punch you in the throat
“I want you [sic] blood … coming to Florida – gonna pay you a visit my friend you love to pick on people get ready fatso.”
“I hope someone murders rush and I hope it hurts,” wrote another individual.

I am assuming, of course, that these people are legitimately upset at Rush Limbaugh for his degrading comment and are not simply upset with him for partisan reasons. I assume that these same people also called for the death of Bill Maher when he repeatedly called Sarah Palin a ‘twat’ and a ‘cunt.’
